Preparing to TTC in 2022

WingingIt09 · 28/12/2021 22:39

DH has agreed to starting to TTC baby #3 in April/May. We already have a 2 daughters (age 4 and 2). I'm so excited to start trying! I think it's going to be a long wait until we can start actively trying!

Starting to think about things to do to help prepare my body. I'm currently on the progesterone only pill so thinking of when to stop it. I have 5 days left in this packet and then one packet left after that in my current prescription. Don't know whether to stop when I finishes this packet or at the end of Jan after my next packet. Any experiences of how long it takes cycle to regulate after the pill?

I need to try and eat healthier as I've been so bad recently with Christmas but I'm a healthy weight so not too worried there. Also ordered some TTC vitamins which I remember from previous pregnancies is good to take 3 months before TTC.

Anything else I could do? Is there anyone else who will be starting to try later in the year and so excited that you're already on here 🙈?

@Cheekypeach
Gap between DD1 and DD2 is 2years 1 month
If we conceive first month trying then DD1 will be 5y5m and DD2 will be 3y4m when baby #3 arrives.

@Cheekypeach my two are almost exactly 3 years apart and if things go how we hope this time there would be around 3.5 and 6.5 years between them and a new baby 🥺

My youngest was born a couple of months before my eldest started preschool so we had some time with all of us and then for me her being at preschool really helped and she had her own time and friends and I had some one on one with the baby. Assuming we conceive when we'd like she'll be halfway through year 2 and the youngest will be in preschool so both used to their settings by the time a baby comes along 🤞

Evening all, how are you all feeling? What plans do people have this weekend to keep their minds busy 😂

I’m 6DPO and ever since 1DPO I’ve had quite noticeable cramping and quite a few twinges in my left side, they feel like period style cramps but when I was on the pill I didn’t get anything until AF arrived do not reply sure what to compare them to!

Anyone else in the TWW and struggling not to symptom spot!!

OCM19 · 04/02/2022 21:24

Oh, and a very faint sore left boob, but not right 🤦‍♀️

NarnieJoy · 04/02/2022 21:28

@OCM19 I have had one boob sore and not the other in a previous cycle. I think the hardest thing is that PMS can be very like pregnancy I have heard. I’m keeping busy this weekend with some mini golf ⛳️ with the hubs!

Cavylady · 04/02/2022 21:45

AF due this weekend for me and I'm expecting she will make an appearance as I'm feeling exactly the way I usually do right before... This has been my first TWW and I think I'm trying to play it cool when in reality I'm noticing all sorts of cramps, twinges and things I wouldn't normally notice! Hope everyone else is doing well 😊

OCM19 · 04/02/2022 21:57

@NarnieJoy it’s so horrible isn’t it that our bodies play tricks with our minds because the symptoms are so similar!

@Cavylady you’re not out until AF arrived 🤞

Cheekypeach · 04/02/2022 21:59

CD 5 for me & resisting the urge to start ttc this cycle!

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/02/2022 13:47

@OCM19 symptom spotting is a nightmare. With my last baby I just had period cramps as usual, so was surprised when I got a positive! 😊

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/02/2022 13:48

Just purchased a big old pack of One Step pregnancy tests off Amazon. Love POAS! 😂

OCM19 · 05/02/2022 21:05

@Cavylady It's so hard not to isn't it.

@DanceWithYourBalloon I haven't bought any pregnancy tests yet as I really don't want to test too early and know if they are in the house I will test! I am 7DPO, my AF is due next weekend and I am going to try and stick it out until then but I know I will probably cave!

Is anyone else testing this weekend?

Cavylady · 05/02/2022 21:31

@OCM19 unfortunately AF arrived for me today so I'm out and no need to test. On to the next month I guess! Fingers crossed for everyone else who's in the TWW! 🤞🤞🤞

OCM19 · 05/02/2022 21:44

Ahh sorry to hear this @Cavylady, hopefully your next cycle will result in a BFP x

Cavylady · 05/02/2022 21:56

@OCM19 thanks, bit disappointing but was also expecting it so it's not too surprising. I also cannot imagine being pregnant having never been so, so if I'm ever lucky enough to get the BFP I think I'll be shocked! X

How's everyone else getting on this month? Was anyone else due to test/AF this weekend?

OCM19 · 05/02/2022 22:02

@Cavylady I remember that first cycle of TTC with my first, it really is disappointing but hopefully it will happen for you too.

My AF is due next weekend, I’ve just got to resist testing but think I may cave mid-week!

OCM19 · 05/02/2022 22:02
  • soon not too
Worryant · 05/02/2022 22:13

@Cavylady AF due today - testing negative and starting to get pink cm so think I’m out this cycle. Roll on next one! Hope you’re doing ok, the disappointment is hard right, even if you’re expecting it?!

tryingtryinggone · 06/02/2022 08:54

Can I join? I’m 27 and will hopefully be ttc number 2 in April/May time. My little one is 16 months old.

I’m hoping not to get too obsessive over ttc with timings and testing etc but I said that the first time which lasted all of 1 cycle 😂

I had a miscarriage before number 1 which always puts me on edge. We want to have this baby by next summer so thinking April/May will hopefully give us time.

I may have already bought a ‘big sister’ top for telling my husband/family. Bought it size 1.5-2 years which may be optimistic!

WingingIt09 · 06/02/2022 11:37

@Worryant @Cavylady sorry to hear that! Good luck for next cycle.
@OCM19 fingers crossed for you, any symptoms?

@tryingtryinggone welcome! I know how you feel, I've had 2 miscarriages so will always be on edge even after a BFP. I'm also aiming to start TTC in May. I've added you to our list below

@Bear486 how have you got on starting TTC? Whereabouts in your cycle are you?

Also I'm STILL waiting on a bleed after coming off the pill 5 weeks ago... getting very fed up! My app had said I'd ovulated on 25th based on BBT but then changed its mind 2 days ago... had more cramps this last week so keep thinking AF is on her way and then nothing 🙄

Cheekypeach · 06/02/2022 12:07

Hi ladies! @Cavylady here’s hoping next month is your lucky one 🍀 do you know roughly when you ovulate?

I did an OPK yesterday (cycle day 6) very negative, no surprise there. Just done another (cd 7) which is stronger but still negative. However it’s stronger to the point where it looks like it might go positive soon Blush

I had a hunch I ovulate early as I got a positive pregnancy test with DD on CD 21 of a 28 day cycle Hmm so who knows!

Cavylady · 06/02/2022 12:15

@cheekypeach I've been using the clearblue digital tests and I got my static smiley 2 weeks ago yesterday but I don't think I ovulated for another 2 days after getting that smiley going by CM! Which would have made it 2 weeks ago tomorrow, AF hasn't fully set in either which makes it about right too, I think?! Ordered a basal thermometer for next month too just to try give a bit more clarity xx

Cavylady · 06/02/2022 12:16

Have quite long cycles too at 32-35 days which is frustrating!

Cheekypeach · 06/02/2022 12:16

Good idea. Do you get mid cycle pain? That’s usually quite a reliable indicator for me! It only lasts a couple of minutes though so I have to be aware of it.

lj2022 · 06/02/2022 13:57

Hi everyone! I’m TTC and came off my pill at Christmas. On cycle number 2 at the moment and predicted to ovulate in the next two days through natural cycles BBT and just took a LH test which is positive. Trying not to become obsessive and expect it to happen quickly but it’s hard not to get a little too into the tracking. This is TTC baby number 1 for us after putting it off due to pandemic and wanting one last holiday just the two of us. Nice to have a thread where everyone is in the same boat
