Hello Smile

As title says ttc #1, cycle 1, 30 yo. I got my 1st flashing smiley this morning on the CB test.

Thought it would be nice to hear from other ladies in a similar position.

I’m confused what CD this is for me. I have another full thread on this so won’t rewrite it here but if anyone can help me on that thread (title: my first ever flashing smiley please help) I’d be grateful as I’m very confused. This may be CD10 for me or may be CD5 Confused

How are your new journeys going? Smile

For anyone who was asking or wondered EPO doesn’t seem to have done anything for me. It’s only my first cycle using it though so maybe it could take more time.

I haven’t taken it today I’m going to stop now that I think I’m close to peak.

I’ve had no ewcm at all ☹️ and I think less creamy and water cm to last cycle too. I think if not lucky this time I’ll look into preseed.

I was taking 2000mg of EPO and starflower oil. 1000mg in the morning and 1000mg before bed. It contains 260mg of GLA which I think is the stuff that helps the ewcm. The recommended dose of GLA for ewcm is 200-400mg so maybe next cycle If I need to I should increase my dose.

Lots of people notice a big difference with EPO in one cycle but this is just my experience so far.

@newbiemg I was looking at the preseed too, maybe potentially for us next month... depending how we both get on the next little while.
Everything crossed for you though
And I'm sure I'll come across some more weird and wonderful things to share into the group for us all to use.
Ps eat those Brazil nuts up Grin

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 14:36

Yay @Newbiemg - you've been such a trooper!!

Sorry to hear about the EWCM. Do you use PreSeed at all?

RMS0209 · 19/01/2022 14:38

What about these fertilily cups sound interesting but wonder ? Anybody?

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 14:41

@RMS0209 I use the Ferti Lily! Was recommended it for home inseminations. It's expensive but I really like it and have heard insanely good things about it on here and amongst other coparents/home insemination people I know. I did a few practice runs with it and I def messed it up the first time I used it but after that it was pretty easy.

RMS0209 · 19/01/2022 14:59

@lakejupiter oh really? I was thinking of getting one but trying before BD week! Simple enough to use after a few tries? Worth a try I guess! I see BOOTS do them so should be able to pick one up easy enough if need be.

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 15:02

Yes simple enough after a few tries. I use a menstrual cup so maybe that helped as they are quite similar. I would def recommend practicing putting it in and taking it out a few times and def watch the videos they have on their website - helped me get to grips with how to insert it and how it's supposed to "look" on the inside as it sits right on your cervix which is usually at a bit of an angle

RMS0209 · 19/01/2022 15:04

@lakejupiter some bedtime reading/viewing this evening! Thanks for the advice. How you doing today?

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 15:08

Not too bad thanks @RMS0209 - having one of my "definitely not pregnant" days 😂 seem to alternate between being convinced I am and convinced I'm not. I'm 9dpo and holding off on testing again for now. How are you?

Lol sorry @Newbiemg I see you are looking into preseed for next month - should probably read the post properly before replying 🙈

@lakejupiter goodness you sound like me! that strange pain such a dull one but comes and goes.. knowing my luck will be AF. DPO9/10 Want to test Fri, part of me thinks I might have got luck testing on my mums birthday tomorrow.. but should hold out until Friday I think. Panicky. When you going to test next? I've gave myself a list of jobs to do tonight to keep me busy! House has never been so spotless ha ha
lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 15:27

@RMS0209 I'm gonna do an FRER on Friday with FMU I think. And if that's negative will do another on Monday. After that AF is due....

Yes the symptoms are so weird aren't they. I have genuinely never noticed these kinds of dull cramps and twinges but maybe it's because I've never had a TWW before! So many unknowns!

I need to get off my phone and do some paid work and housework - can't imagine how productive I would be if I put the amount of energy I put into TTC into other areas of my life 😂 I used to be a workaholic but I'm finding motivation really hard atm.

Pickles91 · 19/01/2022 16:09

Your symptoms are sounding good @lakejupiter @RMS0209! Excited to see your tests… And those OPKs are definitely on the way @Newbiemg. I reckon you’ll peak tomorrow 🥳 is it EPO that you’re meant to increase over the first half of the cycle or something else? So many vitamin names thrown about on mumsnet that I lose track. Maybe it was soy isoflavones..

Nothing to report here! 2dpo in my first TWW. I do think this cycle is a fail though. My doc prescribed me 100mg progesterone to see if it helped my spotting (despite my blood tests being totally normal…unsurprisingly, it hasn’t helped). She said to take cd14-28, which I did (my peak was cd14 too this month), but I read somewhere last night that taking it then could interrupt ovulation. And now with my slow LH decline, I wonder if that’s the case? Bleugh. Anyway. It’s only cycle 1!

Newbiemg · 19/01/2022 16:25

@Pickles91 I’m hoping it’s Thursday that would be the most convenient! lol

EPO you take from CD1 and then stop just before ovulation because it helps with ewcm but also can have negative affects in early pregnancy.

I think sometimes people take it at the end of pregnancy to induce labour but it’s not always safe to take in early stages so I’ve stopped now that I think I’m close to peak to be safe.

Did you peak and your LH has stayed high?

OP posts:
Pickles91 · 19/01/2022 16:29

Ooh I see!

Yeah, it’s coming down but not rapidly like I see on many charts. I haven’t tested yet today as it’s too early, but this is it so far 😵‍💫

Ttc #1 and cycle 1. Anyone else?
Newbiemg · 19/01/2022 17:03

@Pickles91 I didn’t even know I could look at a chart like that. I just found mine in the app lol. That’s so interesting thanks for showing me that. So should it drop straight down after peak then?

Mines weird up and down….

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 17:17

Hmm @Pickles91 I hope the progesterone isn't interfering too much! I haven't ever had a slow decline in LH - it tends to drop off a cliff - but maybe others on the conception forum can help. I love how much knowledge there is on here - I have PCOS - newly diagnosed - and have got more info on it from women on these boards than from google rabbit holes and GP combined!

I think I have a UTI 😭 constantly needing to pee (like every ten minutes, literally) and my bladder feels like a brick. Unsure what to do besides drink my body weight in water!

Pickles91 · 19/01/2022 17:24

Oh no! A sad welcome to the UTI club @lakejupiter. I’m currently peeing blood so off to the doctors 😂 have you tried those sachets from boots? They don’t work too well for me, but a few friends swear by them! I think they’re essentially bicarb and cranberry.

My chart was pretty up and down before ov as well @Newbiemg. On the Premom app, you can click on community and then charts and see other peoples, which is pretty useful! Haven’t seen one like mine yet though, but you might have more success!

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 17:28

Ouch @Pickles91 that sounds sore!! My pee looks okay so far (it's neon because of the Pregnacare supplements but otherwise looks fine) but might nip to boots and see if I can get some sachets. Don't usually get UTIs but I guess have had a lot going on down there the past couple of weeks...

Newbiemg · 19/01/2022 18:36

I just did another opk and it’s the same level test line still not quite the same as control. I’m trying to stay positive but I am having a little worry tonight that I won’t peak or ovulate this month and the lack of CM even with taking EPO is adding to my worry abit. I know I still have time at only CD15 but I think because I already had peaked by now last cycle it’s hard to not start worrying a little.

I just wish I could suddenly see a load of ewcm or something lol

@Pickles91 thank you it’s deffo helpful to compare charts. I didn’t know I could do that on the app Smile

OP posts:
Pickles91 · 19/01/2022 19:16

Hmm I would maybe try holding and not drinking much for the 4 hours (I was drinking for the first hour and then just the odd sip after) and testing before bed. It might just be a really fast peak!

lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 19:22

Try not to worry too much @Newbiemg though easier said than done I know ❤️

Newbiemg · 19/01/2022 19:35

@Pickles91 @lakejupiter yes it could be a fast peak. I peaked for 3 days last cycle though which is a long peak I think lol. I’m doing a hold now and going to test again around 10/11ish.

I know that I’m being silly tbh but it’s just one of those days where I’m worrying about everything and anything.... hopefully I’m just hormonal and that’s another sign it’s coming 😂

OP posts:
lakejupiter · 19/01/2022 19:39

I get that @Newbiemg - must be something in the air as I've had a day like that too! It's such an emotional business. Yesterday was feeling good and today spent the day going down a PCOS rabbit hole and convincing myself I'm infertile and not releasing viable eggs. Hope it gets just a little bit easier ❤️

Hope you get your peak! If you're at all worried you could ask your GP for a day 21 progesterone test to confirm ovulation - I had one done in December

Newbiemg · 19/01/2022 20:18

I’m sorry to hear you’re having a bad day too @lakejupiter it is a rollercoaster this ttc business for sure Smile

I may do that actually about the progesterone test to put my mind at ease… thank you for suggestion!

How is everyone else today?
