Wow that last bus was an amazing bumper BFP filled bus where we were all crying and screaming for joy as lots of our lovely passengers got their BFPs…🙌🏻we are having an ADVENT CALENDAR of a BFP each day! 🥰❤️

There’s still some ppl lingering on this bus so that’s it, I’m calling time, all the rest of you are due off this bus with your 2 lines please 🤞🏻

This is the bus where we’ve got lots of things going on, bumps, rainbows 🌈, ivf, and now lots more miracle BFPs before ivf! Maybe we should issue passengers with an ivf referral on your way in too to help spur those eggs & sperm into action!

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out. We’ve had multiples, some losses so know two lines can be just as terrifying as none, and we’ve got ladies where those two lines are more illusive than a white Christmas 🎅🏻

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account.

@LoveQ Just jumping in as I temp too and did for months when TTC DS. You need to temp at the same time every day and before you move/drink/speak. I'd personally recommend temping vaginally (it's more accurate) and not affected by mouth breathing etc. I track it on Fertility Friend (the chart is much easier to interpret than some of the others)

You're looking for a clear and sustained shift in temperature after ovulation

larrythelizard · 10/01/2022 12:57

@LoveQ what @polkadotpixie said! BBT thermometers are pretty cheap.

It was stressing me out trying to do it at the same time every day so I splashed on wearable BBT - the Ava Bracelet - was much less stressful for me but much pricier!

polkadotpixie · 10/01/2022 13:13

@larrythelizard Did you find the Ava bracelet good? I get major temping anxiety and wake up all the time worrying if it's time to temp yet which obviously impacts on the accuracy! Maybe I should get one 🤔

Juno231 · 10/01/2022 14:10

@paintfairy either way they're enforcing something you might not agree with if bodily autonomy is the main issue. COVID has shown to increase stillbirth risks, triple preterm births, and cause a lot more problems to the mum. I do agree that it's unfair on those already in their 40s with no time to lose but I don't see a problem in them enforcing vaccines if they want to. Likewise if you don't have enough rubella antibodies that delays you by 3-4 months too.

@loveq I was a temper too! Used a cheap femometer thermometer from Amazon, the fertility friend app and did it orally as vaginally was too much of a faff for me.

LoveQ · 10/01/2022 14:40

Brilliant thank you, are you supposed to start on CD 1?

Minster2012 · 10/01/2022 14:44

@LoveQ
I also had the Femometer thermometer & I know what you mean about the waking up if you know you are meant to do something but I still found it ok, like @Juno231 I also used fertility friend app to chart it & Juno taught me about adjusting my temp if I took the temp at bot the normal time for instance & I often drank alcohol which was meant to skew it but it still worked fine for me. You have to stay still & grab the thermometer without moving & hold it under your tongue for (what feels like an eternity) to make it accurate as it's meant to be a resting temp. Sounds awful but you get the knack. @Juno231 is a charting queen 👑 she was our guru for all questions

I think we just need to be pleased the vaccine thing wasn't brought up previously for say you @paintfairy & it's very good of @DKDK123 to highlight it let others know so ppl can investigate & ensure they aren't caught out by it. Maybe let's leave the debate for the covid /ivf threads 🧵

@Minster2012 best thing to do then would have it sat on the bedside table and then when my first morning alarm goes off pop it in and wait 😆

I've never done that with my other two pregnancies, I did have a short LT with my daughter but fixed that with B vitamin, I was 8 years younger then though 🤣

Minster2012 · 10/01/2022 15:04

@LoveQ yes I had mine literally on the edge of the bedside table next to my phone for alarm & I tried to sleep lying on that side to make it easier. Literally stretched an arm out & put it in. It doesn't matter not starting on CD1 I often started around CD8 for me after I got the hang of it

I don't think skin temp is quite as reliable as BBT @polkadotpixie but it showed a definite pattern so deffo seemed to work as I hoped it would. I sometimes go to the gym at 6am, sometimes at 7am, sometimes at 9am so to do it at a regular time everyday would have been 5am or something everyday and that wasn't sustainable for me!

@LoveQ this time round my Luteal Phase never got beyond 9 days but still one drunken shag = pregnant (I was trying for 11 months but stopped for a bit as I got a new job and was waiting for enhanced maternity pay...) so I don't think a short Luteal Phase is necessarily the disaster I thought it was!

bez91 · 10/01/2022 15:36

@Manifestingbaby really sorry about the BFN ☹️💕

@LoveQ ovulation sticks can be good to gauge regularity of ov, temping was the only thing bar blood tests that identified my anovulatory cycles although I hated temping it's a pain in the arse!

Minster2012 · 10/01/2022 16:09

@Manifestingbaby 😞❤️❤️❤️

@Manifestingbaby sorry to hear about AF. TRC is just so hard at times.

I think I’m about 8dpo. Maybe. I’m guessing. I think I’ll try a cheap test on Friday. Nothing much happening here though…although my RHR is really high for me. Is that a symptom?

Minster2012 · 10/01/2022 19:18

@BellatrixK it can be!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻let's hope god you it is, I think it was for @Vil10 if I remember rightly when she got her BFP!

Today I opened the absolutely adorable presents sent to me by the lovely @Franklydear, not just for bump (first present for bump) but also some fab stickers for X too ❤️🥰this group is so lovely, look how talented she is

We had a thread full of fab hobbies at one point!

@Minster2012 oh, thanks, I think we all agree you’re the loveliest of them all, X has the special job of preparing to be a big brother, he needs stickers, glad you like them
@BellatrixK 8 dpo is early days but promising
@Manifestingbaby damm it, hugs

pennysays · 10/01/2022 19:57

Wow @Franklydear that so beautiful!

BellatrixK · 10/01/2022 20:05

Oh, I had no idea! Thanks @Minster2012 definitely 🤞🤞

Wow! @Franklydear that is amazing. That blanket is beautiful! You’re very talented!

I think most of my recent hobbies are DIY! We prettied up our old house and sold it in the first lockdown, then in the second lockdown we started so much work on the new house. I love doing it!

polkadotpixie · 10/01/2022 20:35

@LoveQ I never start temping until about CD7. Because I temp vaginally I don't do it during AF and tbh, I enjoy a week off!

@Franklydear The dress and blanket are lovely, I wish I had a talent!

@BellatrixK An increased RHR can definitely be a sign of a BFP, that was one of the things that made me test with my MC in August...🤞for you!

I'm on CD12 today, looks like it might be an early ovulation for me this cycle...Premom is reading my OPK at 0.7 and once I get a reading that high, I normally get my positive the next day so I guess I'll ovulate on CD14 or maybe late CD13. I've just bribed DH to DTD again with the promise of pizza 🤣 We'll do it again tomorrow so I guess we'll have done all we can. I wish I ovulated more consistently, it's fine when I ovulate around CD15/16/17 which is my usual but the odd CD13/14 always catches me out 😩

Manifestingbaby · 10/01/2022 20:38

Thank you all. I appreciate the sympathy. That's 25 cycles now with nothing to show for it, a miserable milestone. I might be MIA for a bit. Just feeling quite flat about it all and need focus on other cheerier aspects of life so it doesn't bring me down. Sometimes the days waiting for af are harder than when she actually arrives!

@Franklydear your knitting and crochet are beautiful 😍

Franklydear · 10/01/2022 20:46

@Manifestingbaby thank you, cycle 30 here so I completely get you, I am no longer even looking closely at my cycle, what’s the use?

larrythelizard · 11/01/2022 09:09

@Franklydear you're a very talented lady 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

😂😂😂 at pizza bribe @polkadotpixie!

paintfairy · 11/01/2022 09:34

@Franklydear brilliant blanket!

Minster2012 · 11/01/2022 09:50

@Manifestingbaby sending you all the hugs, it's crap you have our support ❤️

Ooooo pizza bribe that's a good idea @polkadotpixie hoping the sticks then show the ovulation today then so you are nicely covered 🤞🏻 I guess having a week when you think OV will be is still better than not knowing at all even if it is a bit exhausting!

@BellatrixK I like a bit of diy too, did so much painting last year on old house then new house 😂

@Franklydear doesn't matter the cycle of you want to keep going then don't think about it!

Somatronic · 11/01/2022 09:53

@Franklydear those gifts are stunning! I wish I had your talent! I am useless at art and crafts.

@Manifestingbaby I'm sorry. It's miserable isn't it? Hope you feel better in the next few days.

I'm tempted to temp (ha!) but the apps put me off. I looked into it before and thought it all looked a bit complicated. I'm sure it isn't so maybe I should revisit it, especially when I can't rely on EWCM. Any tips for simpletons are welcome.

Hope everyone is OK. I'm working from home this week. I'm exhausted. I went for my first walk in weeks yesterday and I'm still so so so tired after it. Covid is a bastard.

Minster2012 · 11/01/2022 11:13

@Somatronic it's honestly dead easy once you get the hang of it, and you get into a routine. I used a Femometer thermometer (you need one that shows 2 decimal points) then wake up take the temp & plot it and add in things like ewcm and fertility friend will do the rest. I didn't get too hung up on it but it def helped me actually know if I'd ovulated or not. Covid is a bastard agreed

OP posts:
paintfairy · 11/01/2022 11:26

@Somatronic something else that worked for me is rhr on the fitbit. Its probably useless for timing dtd (as is temping though) but it shows a pattern after the event, if it works for you? My rhr rises after ovulation and stays higher, before dropping for AF. So once you have a couple of months worth you can see a clear pattern as to how long your cycles are etc and when you ovulate. Temping pretty much works in the same way, its only really useful after and when you've done a few months to see patterns. I just struggled a bit with temping as it stressed me and then I wouldn't sleep knowing I needed to sleep to get an accurate temperature! 🤦‍♀️ But if you have a good sleep pattern and mostly wake at the same time then its fairly easy to do. Just put it into fertility friend every day (or another app) and it'll do the rest for you.
