Entering into 8th cycle..

Entering into 8th cycle…ttc number 2.

Feeling defeated and deflated even though I know odds are still on our side really..
I already have a DD who is 3 years 9 months so very much feel time is of the essence. Just desperate for it to happen now.

Feel like either people seem to fall super fast or seem like 12 months plus and don’t find many “in the middle” types.

Ive fallen pregnant 1st cycle before. And then DD took 7 cycles. So hence why this failed 7th cycle seems like a miserable milestone!

Anyone welcome to keep me company. Sucks 😫

@Teachermummy83 welcome! I'm now on cycle 6 TTC no.2 and totally understand how you're feeling. It's such an unknown and the growing age gap makes me sad which I know it shouldn't. This is the place to rant. I am trying SMEP this month and if that fails, might try not tracking anything anymore and seeing what happens. All those stories about 'stopping trying' and people conceiving, though it may just add to my stress 🤷🏻‍♀️

Indianna2006 · 29/12/2021 20:55

@Teachermummy83 of course you can join 🥰
No you are not alone in it driving you mad. It’s also forcing me insane and I flirt between so emotional unstable about it. To them right now okay. This is fine. I’ve got this. It really is very draining.
Sorry to hear you had a long go at it the first time too. That sucks. But fingers crossed with any luck you may get across the finish line a bit sooner this time.
Deffo vent all you like here. The oh it just happened people never quite understand..and I find in other chats people arrive and leave with there BFP so quickly and new people arrive and also leave. And you’re still there like err hello?! How is this logical. Life is so unfair sometimes.
How old is your 1st DS or DD?

Mine is not far off turning 4 so preferably if it can get a move on that would be grand 😂🧐

@OK92 oooh he’s life a bit of fertile week. I heard SMEP works for loads of people. I’ve tried that for 8 months and nothing so I’m now doing the opposite 😂😂 bloody stuff we do. I’m sure it’s just pure luck you know as well. Like all this faff we do actually makes not much of a bloody difference. Still on my EPO before ovulation though as did think it helped last month.

We’ve had one BFP here on cycle 9. So we get more this month I reckon. One person. Someone. Anyone 🤣

❤️❤️

@Indianna2006, thanks for the welcome. Sounds like we've similar situations, frustrations, fed-up-ness and all that goes with the TTC.... My DD is 2 and a half. Would prefer a small age gap too, so keep thinking I've 'lost' that year of potentially close siblings. Just need to keep trying, it's just finding that balance between timing for maximum effect, and avoiding every month becoming tense, pressurised and stressful which will definitely blow the job 😖 If mother nature would just do her bit, preferably sharpish, it'd be appreciated 😂

Teachermummy83 · 29/12/2021 22:49

@OK92 thank you.
Good tip, just looked up SMEP. Would love to give that a go, but that's a lot of DTD..... I'm struggling with just the fertile week 😂 if I can find someone to take a toddler for a fortnight I'll make this my priority 👌🏼

Kiaa · 29/12/2021 23:34

@Indianna2006
I'm going good just completely exhausted & bad nausea atm now waiting for 1st ultrasound mid January

Sounds like a good plan this month fingers are crossed for you all 🥰

OK92 · 30/12/2021 12:06

@Teachermummy83 I know - not sure we will be able to do SMEP fully but going to give it our best shot. Having a down day today. A good friend recently had her number 2 (which took her just 2 months of trying) so I am being inundated with newborn pics which is lovely but difficult. Then seem to be seeing pregnant people with toddlers everywhere I look. Wondering why it seems so easy for everyone else. Reflexology later today so maybe that'll perk me up a bit!

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 17:29

@OK92 inundated with newborns is never helpful. makes it super hard. I struggle with that. But try tell myself in my head it isn’t about them and there newborn. As I don’t want there’s. I want mine. Doesn’t always work though but I try 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄😂

I’m in C13 and had positive OPK early afternoon. So expecting to ovulate this evening or tomorrow. Am tempting this month so can confirm 100% once it has happened.

We’ve stuck with the plan. So we DTD CD6/7. And then CD11. And then this morning of CD13.
If I get ovulation pains tonight I might fit in another tomo. If not I’ll leave it the 2 day gap and dtd CD15 again.

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ See if this make any difference. How is everyone else doing? All due for ovulation soon? xx

@Indianna2006 I got a negative OPK - I’m using the cheap ones this time rather than CB ones. If there is a light to medium line, does that mean it’s probably rising, or will there be a line no matter what? I’m cycle day 12 I think so probs a few days off but my cycles seem to fluctuate between 28-13 days. We haven’t stuck to any schedule whoops - lots of DTD - hopefully there is a strong healthy swimmer in there.

@OK92 how do you find reflexology? I have heard so many good things!

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 18:04

@FlyOnTheWall89 I always use the cheap ones! I use CB with the smiley faces for 3 cycles but it made no difference for me and find the cheap ones just as effective for me.

There is always some level of LH in your system so there will always be a line on the strips. Sometimes fainter than others.
It’s only relevant if the line is as strong as it bolder than the control line. A line as strong as means it’s likely you caught it on the rise or going back down.

A bold stronger than the control line means you caught your LH at its peak.

When are you testing? I test in morning but think most ppls urine picks up the peak afternoon. I find that for me.

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 18:06

Examples of mine.
1st one with the rug in back ground was yesterday. Was a negative.

Second one was this morning. I knew I’d caught my LH rising as it was almost same strength and thought if I test later this afternoon I’ll catch the surge…and low abs behold I did. Was a LH dye stealer lol x

They’ve uploaded in a weird order. The middle photo is my afternoon peak I got today. But equally the last photo was also a positive. I just knew if I tested again a bit later it would get darker. If that makes sense?

Hey ladies 👋

I'm -hopefully- TTC baby 1 and I'm on my 8th cycle.

My period was 5 days late and I was convinced I was pregnant but I have started spotting today 😩 I feel so desperate!

I'm not taking any vitamins or supplements but I'll get some tomorrow. Any recommendations?

xx

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 19:53

@Alwaysavotoast welcome to the desperate club! 👋 we all get that feeling.

I think most women take like Pregnacare or well woman ttc vitamins as they contain the main generic things you need. Make sure your get enough iron and vitamin D etc. and obv folic acid is most important.

I’ve been taking evening primrose oil from CD1 to ovulation as that’s meant to help EWCM so that could be an idea for depending on if you feel you get loads or not.

OP posts:
FlyOnTheWall89 · 02/01/2022 20:12

@Indianna2006 oh that's so useful. So it changed from negative to positive actually very quickly. I tested at about 3pm today I think. I'll try again tomorrow at a similar time.

@Alwaysavotoast welcome! I'm also TTC #1 and I'm now on cycle 9, like lots of us on this thread! I take folic acid 400, Vit D 1000, EPO 1000 and ubiquol 100. I think that feeling of desperation is so relatable - it really does feel like that at times. It is so hard. You're not alone! X

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 20:15

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes so my first photo was 2pm yesterday. Third photo 8am today. And 2nd photo 2pm today. So mine changed that much.

And I expect if I tested tomorrow it will be a faint line again. My surge is quite quick and fast. But other womens can be slow and last a few days. Think everyone is different. But usually once you know your own it will be consistent ish

OP posts:
FlyOnTheWall89 · 02/01/2022 20:32

@Indianna2006 okay - I wonder if mine is very quick then because I've always struggled with these tests which is why I gave up on them tbh. I got pretty consistent flashing smileys, then a static one around CD17. In theory, with regular sex it shouldn't matter - that has always been in my head but I will try to catch the peak this time. Thanks for your help 💕.

OK92 · 02/01/2022 20:33

@Indianna2006 @FlyOnTheWall89 approaching ovulation too I hope. CD17 today and predicted O in 2 days.

Reflexology was relaxing but not sure I'd do it again unless I went to a specific fertility reflexologist. As they didn't say a huge amount but was a peaceful hour!

@Alwaysavotoast welcome 👋 cycle 6 TTC#2 here. I take vitamin D and folic acid. DH takes zinc and vitamin D (can't even remember why zinc but must have read it somewhere!). Also both trying to stay really well hydrated so drinking lots of water (mainly to help me with CM but also read hydration is important for fertility too).

Fingers crossed THIS month is our month ladies.

Indianna2006 · 04/01/2022 12:07

@Alwaysavotoast did your spotting turn into full AF hun?

@FlyOnTheWall89 how are you getting on with the cheap opks?

@OK92 I had reflexology and conceived DD after going for 6 weeks. I did have it a few cycle ago and she said minus that my adrenals are fatigued as I’m stressed. My cycle was pretty balanced so not sure I actually needed it for fertility. It’s just frustrating isn’t it.

Think I’m officially now in 2ww. Ovulated yesterdays. Got peak OPK CD13 and had ovulation pains yesterday CD14 and had been temperature charting and my temperature rose this morning. Confirming it was yesterday.
We didn’t really stick to the plan though of every other..

We DTD CD7, CD11, CD13am, CD13pm, CD14pm.

Hoping that was enough as I felt ovulation pain midday CD14. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

OP posts:
FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/01/2022 12:40

Hi @Indianna2006- no peak yet! I think I could be a few days off still. When I have OPKed using CB, I got a static on CD17 and when I once got a positive LH cheapie test, it was day 17 too. My mind sometimes gets obsessed by thinking have I done it right etc but as long as you're DTD then I guess it really doesn't matter if you find that positive or not (I'm quite sure I'm ovulating as usually get pain and EWCM), so trying to stay chilled about it.

Lol, you've been busy - 🤞🏻 for you. We are the same - CD8,9,11,12,13 - today is CD14 - We have not stuck to any plan. I've had EWCM for 4 days now... anyone know if EPO can falsely heighten the EWCM - meaning it’s not actually fertile mucus? I've been wearing the AVA bracelet to bed for temping purposes and most of my temps are below 36... like 35.87 etc. is that normal? Not sure it's functioning correctly?

I've gone back to work today and a few of my closest girls know we have been trying and I feel this expectation to give them some news and I have none - makes me sad.

Indianna2006 · 04/01/2022 13:06

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes I think as long as you’re dtd your not going to miss it so that’s the the main thing.

I’m not sure about EPO..I don’t don’t loads of EWCM way in advance. I get more watery from like CD 10 and like my 2/3 peak days I have noticed more EWCM. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Seemed more this cycle.

It could just be your a lower temperature person. Mine prior to ovulation tend to be around 36.20,36.15 etc they kind of region. Then today it was 36.58. Hence I know yesterday was ovulation as it’s a significant rise.
I did it before when trying to DD so got used to it. But haven’t bothered this time. Just wanted to reconfirm what I already knew really.
But you will prob find maybe CD18 then ish you’ll notice a rise in temperature 🙂🙂 fingers crossed!!

Aww it’s so hard I know. Wanting to share good news when you have none. Feels out of reach. So out of reach. But we can only keep going. And hope xx

@Indianna2006 sounds like you're well covered!

I'm not sure where I'm at. Was due to ovulate today and thought my OPK this morning looked like the start of a surge but not quite positive. That was at 8.30am. Then tested around 4.30pm and it was fainter than this morning. Could a surge be that quick that I missed it? Anyway will try remember to temp tomorrow and see if it's increased. Desperate to ovulate now as this SMEP is tiring, definitely started it too early!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 04/01/2022 19:53

@Indianna2006 oooo look, is this high or peak?! Only CD14 but last cycle was 28 days so maybe this one will be too!

Entering into 8th cycle..
Indianna2006 · 04/01/2022 21:09

@OK92 I think sometimes surges can be that quick. Keep using the opks and then temp to an hopefully that will confirm it.

@FlyOnTheWall89 ooohh yes!! This is deff a high at least as it’s as bold as the other line. Some people never go stronger than that. Everyone’s is different. So I would take that as your positive. It may get a bit stronger if you do another test bit later. Looks like ovulation is soon for you too!! Maybe tomrorow!

OK92 · 05/01/2022 08:57

@Indianna2006 finally got my peak this morning, CD19. DTD last night and the day before. Reckon it's better to try and go again tonight or tomorrow? Not sure we can handle 2 more days in a row 😬

Entering into 8th cycle..
Indianna2006 · 05/01/2022 09:43

@OK92 most definitely a peak! Looos like we’re all ovulating right a really similar time!

Ooh that’s a hard one. Do you ever get some cramps with ovulation or feel a bit uncomfy? I’d try go off that if you do. But I’d more likely go for tonight out of the two if you can only manage one. As better for sperm than to be waiting than late I guess.
