Entering into 8th cycle..

Entering into 8th cycle…ttc number 2.

Feeling defeated and deflated even though I know odds are still on our side really..
I already have a DD who is 3 years 9 months so very much feel time is of the essence. Just desperate for it to happen now.

Feel like either people seem to fall super fast or seem like 12 months plus and don’t find many “in the middle” types.

Ive fallen pregnant 1st cycle before. And then DD took 7 cycles. So hence why this failed 7th cycle seems like a miserable milestone!

Anyone welcome to keep me company. Sucks 😫

@Indianna2006 yes - I think I just got lucky. Hopefully it is enlightening and gives me some direction. I will report back. x

OK92 · 22/02/2022 10:02

@FlyOnTheWall89 I'm ok! CD6 so we are in sync. I have impulsively booked a hycosy for tomorrow...worst case nothing comes of it and best case it clears the path a bit more for the sperm that are actually swimming to get somewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️. Figured I'd try it while we carry on with DH supplements. Thankfully he's embracing it all and he's eating all the sperm friendly food, cut out anything bad etc so I really hope we get better results at the next SA. I also wonder if he's always had bad motility and DD was really a miracle. Who knows. It's a long wait until next fertile window and by that point we will have seen Dr Ramsey too so will have a better action plan I hope.

That's GREAT news your call was moved!? Amazing. Keep us posted!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 22/02/2022 10:13

@OK92 it will be really interesting to chat through his results with Dr Ramsay. It may not be as bad as you think it is and hopefully with the supplements and lifestyle improvements, you might see some improvement. We hope for this too!

Doc was lovely. He asked lots of yes or no questions and about my cycle and about if I'm taking folic acid and Vit D. He said all sounds normal. He wasn't concerned by AMH at all. He then said has your partner had a SA and I went into the details and he said I think you should apply for IVF funding now, but you don't need to use it now, and then see what happens. He said you've only been trying a year (only lol - feels like a lifetime), you may feel you want to continue for a bit longer. He said another SA would be required but in general, they are likely to be the same, or very similar.

Feeling really relieved that we have a pathway in some way. We definitely want to see if we can improve the results for the next SA. I didn't go into what he was taking because the doctor I spoke to is a gynaecologist, not a urologist obvs so didn't feel it necessary.

He wants me to have a rubella blood test and a HSG. How are you feeling about the HSG? I think it's definitely something to just tick off the list. I will just get a letter through so no clue when mine will be.

OK92 · 22/02/2022 11:43

@FlyOnTheWall89 that's a big relief for you to have an action plan now, and like you said hopefully improve the SA in the mean time while the funding is being applied for. Did they say how long that takes? Either way, whether it's natural or via IVF I'm hopeful that you'll have your BFP this year.

I'm feeling ok about tomorrow. Hopefully if it's painful it's short lived...!! I'm generally fine with stuff like smears and internal scans but I know this is likely to be more uncomfortable. I'll let you know how it goes though.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 22/02/2022 11:58

@OK92 Have you ever had the coil? I presume it is quite like that? I am fine with smears etc too. Good luck and let us know.

No clue re funding - I would presume between a month or 2. Yes exactly - thinking just sometime this years helps me make so many decisions. x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 23/02/2022 06:36

Good luck today @OK92 xx

OK92 · 23/02/2022 17:00

@FlyOnTheWall89 @Indianna2006 had the hycosy this afternoon. Wasn't terrible but also not the most comfortable. Felt like really really bad period cramps. Lots of deep breathing! He said my tubes were all clear though, so here's hoping it gives us an extra boost anyway even though there were no blockages.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 23/02/2022 17:21

@OK92 oh good. Yes that is how I imagine it would feel. Great that there are no blockages. I've started listening to the BIG FAT NEGATIVE podcast. There is one about HSGs which I'll listen to tomorrow on my walk to work. Hoping the next few months will work for you. Are you nearing month 12 too? X

Indianna2006 · 23/02/2022 17:32

@OK92 good news on open tubes! Fingers crossed for a boost.
Mine bloods at clinic are booked for next week and hycosy and other scans for 3 weeks time. So it will be done hopefully just before fertile week of 12th cycle 🤞🏼

Glad to know it wasn’t too bad. And hopefully may be worth it. Fingers crossed xx

@FlyOnTheWall89 I'm a little behind - onto cycle 8 now. But think it's due to DH motility issues...which I'm praying can be resolved naturally either through supplements / lifestyle changes or potential varicocele removal which we'll find out when we see Dr Ramsey. If not then it'll be ICSI probably end of this year which we will need to self-fund 😩

Indianna2006 · 23/02/2022 17:40

@OK92 was your hycosy in time for this fertile window so you can boost this cycle? Some places seem to mention avoid ttc but I think others do. And prob worth going for it.

I reckon your motility can improve with supplements but by how much who knows. So strange how conception works isn’t it really. Ppl with normal results get no BFP. And some ppl with abnormal can eventually get there BFP. It’s all such an unknown even when stuff checks out clear. Nothing guarantees those 2 pink lines hey.

I think keep going with hope and any luck you could fall within a year still even with slightly lower motility.

I’ve noticed last few cycles I’ve been much spottier around my period and ovulation. Like I used to be when I was younger and conceived. Hoping this is a good sign. As I’ve spent last 9 months not having any bad skin at all or spots. So many my hormones are higher and better. Wishful thinking 😂

OK92 · 23/02/2022 17:51

@Indianna2006 that's good news about your tests and hycosy. Let's hope they bring us some BFP magic! Have you ovulated now? Or not quite?

Yep I'm CD7 today so in time for next fertile window, the gynae said I can definitely TTC this month. He prescribed a course of antibiotics (apparently as a precaution in unlikely event the dye caused an infection) but said it's fine as they're only 5 days and will be done before my fertile window starts anyway.

I know what you mean. It's a big lottery. I literally look at pregnant people and think you are SO lucky. It feels like the unachievable at the moment.

Indianna2006 · 23/02/2022 18:37

@OK92 yes often times it seems unachievable to me almost now.

Oh that’s good you can ttc. Well my
OPK was almost positive this morning. Haven’t been home to check abs in this evening but imagine I may get a positive later. So prob due to ovulate later this evening or tomorrow. So v soon.

Good news you can ttc this cycle 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@OK92 well that’s my fertile period done. Tww begins… 😫 First cycle using the fertilily properly…

I used it 3 times. CD10 CD12 and CD13. Ovulated late CD13 and early hours of CD14 as I had the worst right sided cramp I’ve had in a loooong time!
And when I went to take it out each time. It was very tricky to get back out as it was so high and in the right place. Almost like suctioned 😂 All the other months it popped out really easy hence I’m certain now this time I used it right.

Let’s see if this has any effect! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞🏼

So if you do buy it and use it if it’s hard to get out. It’s probably being used correctly 😂

FlyOnTheWall89 · 25/02/2022 05:51

Fingers crossed @Indianna2006 ! I've just bought one too. Trying to make small chances a few % more! I'm entering FW now x

OK92 · 25/02/2022 07:12

@Indianna2006 fingers crossed this is your cycle! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've also ordered one last night, in time for fertile week starting next week. How long did you leave it in each time btw?

Indianna2006 · 25/02/2022 07:58

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes deffo worth just making a few changes each type. I feel it helps keep you going. And giving as much sperm chance to get into the fertile CM can only be a good thing!

@OK92 if this is my cycle I’ll eat my hat 😂 but who knows hey! It says to leave it in minimum 20 minutes and maximum and hour.
So I usually do a hour. Although most of tbh time we dtd once we’ve got in bed and DH goes to bed quite late. So then actually I don’t take it out and sleep in it. You’re meant to take it out after an hour but I’m not staying awake for that. And it’s always fine in over night. It’s like a menstrual cup but sits higher so that stays in overnight so figured didn’t see why it couldn’t stay in 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

But presume point is if during day or early evening and you will be getting up and about. Means it deff doesn’t all fall back out and sperm stays up there nice and high when you stand up etc.

OK92 · 25/02/2022 14:01

@Indianna2006 ok thanks! Hopefully I can get some practice in before fertile window starts end of next week. I wonder why they say max an hour. Agree it seems like an effort to sit for an hour after DTD without being able to go to sleep 😂

I've had a bit of light bleeding today (CD9) I assume because of the hycosy, must have irritated cervix.

Indianna2006 · 25/02/2022 23:35

@OK92 yeh I wouldn’t worry too much about max time. I can’t see an issue it being in longer. And others have slept with it in I’d seen.

I can imagine it can be quite tricky for ppl to get in for ppl ttc number 1. But I don’t find it tricky but I’ve given birth vaginally so imagine that changes things a little 😂

Only tip I do have is they say push it up with one finger and hold one finger and pop it so flips back from inside out. I find and have noticed others mentioned it just slides around which it does. Especially with semen in your vagina 😂😂 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I have to use two fingers either side of the cup to support it before I pull it to pop it.

Haha Jesus way too much detail but you will totally get what I mean when you try it.

Gotta laugh cos otherwise we would just cry 😂😂

@OK92 @Indianna2006 how are you doing guys?! So I've got the Ferti lily. How do you know when it's up far enough 😂. I can't really get it much further I don't think but the tail bit still sticks out a bit. Any tips appreciated!! Xx

Indianna2006 · 27/02/2022 16:42

@FlyOnTheWall89 with your own fingers you can only get it so far.
I found it worked if once it was in. You like scoot round and put your legs up a wall or up the headboard etc and it seems to suction like further up in the right place when you tilt you pelvis.

I think everyone is diff so it can stick out a little. But shouldn’t be loads. Otherwise prob not in far enough.

When mines in the right place now the ball on the end is pretty much in line with my vajay entrance 😂😂

OK92 · 27/02/2022 17:23

@FlyOnTheWall89 @Indianna2006 mine doesn't arrive until Tues I think so will have to get up to speed pretty quick as fertile window starts later this week. Need to watch the vids too. CD11 today. Time going sooo slow. I will most definitely be back to opks and temping this month as clearly 'relaxing' and not tracking last month did bugger all 😂

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/02/2022 18:30

@Indianna2006 detailed explanation, thank you! Haha. I'm CD9 @OK92 so prepping early 😂. X

OK92 · 01/03/2022 21:45

@Indianna2006 how is the TWW going?

@FlyOnTheWall89 any more luck with the ferti Lily?

I tried it this evening (just by myself to figure it out) and got into a bit of a flap 😂 I found it hard to pop out into the cup shape once I'd pushed it up, hard to push it far enough that the tail wasn't a bit out and then REALLY hard to get out! I ended up having to sit on the toilet and like pinch it out. God knows how it's going to work in practice when I need to keep sperm up there!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 02/03/2022 06:36

@OK92 hi! I think it's going okay, I've used it 3 times now. I definitely can't get it in any further and when I've popped it the right way round the tail does stick out a bit. I think you should of need to pull plus use your muscles to push it out. God knows if it's in the right place though. It has these indents that you can feel when you've popped it open - I think I can feel those so hopefully I'm doing it right! It's not my sexiest post sex move for sure hahaha 😂
