Just popping my head in to say I got my 3+ on the digital today at 5+1. I'm a bit relieved tbh.

@Moocher90 i can't believe they're making you redo the hycosy, what jokers!

As for dairy free alternatives - I'm actually quite enjoying oat milk (whole, preferably barista) in my coffees. Absolutely hate almond, soy and pea milk though.

Kay00 · 14/12/2021 20:25

@juno231 excellent!! That's just perfect 🥰 so pleased for you!

I'm not sure I can stomach any of the nut milks since starting Metformin and I completely went off the oat milk after my previous stint of trying lactose free 😆 so I'm not sure how well I will cope with dairy free 😅

I properly started my diet today though after weighing myself in at 9 st. 13 this morning (1/2 stone heavier than when I started TTC), I have even downloaded an app 😇

Kay00 · 15/12/2021 18:00

Turns out I can't Give Blood because I am taking Clomid (have to wait 12 weeks after my last Clomid tablet). I also declared that I had taken paracetamol for period pains two days ago. Fine, I can cope with this...

...but the nurse (who had pics of two young kids on her phone) proceeded to ask me how long I had been TTC and whether I was considering any treatments (erm... the Clomid?). She could tell I was getting upset, so she just kept talking, telling me how this 'PCOS is so difficult isn't it'?

At one point she got excited and said something about me having a 'Bambino soon' and I could Give Blood when 6 months post partum, then she finished with: 'oh never mind, you might get a Christmas miracle'! By this point I was visibly crying and said 'Well, that's not going to happen now is it, I started my period three days ago' and walked out (then cried in my car A LOT).

I know she was trying to be re-assuring, but FFS, shut up when you can see you are upsetting someone! I'm also clearly quite fragile, as this wouldn't have phased me a few months ago Sad.

madeleine85 · 15/12/2021 18:51

@Kay00 sorry for that experience, it sounds horrific. Sometimes you just want to shout please stop talking at someone like that. Good intentions, but horrible execution.

Also it is really annoying when professionals (drs/nurses etc) have pictures on their children around because they don't know what you are going through. My doctor used to let patients bring their babies to follow up appointments/their children to obgyn appts, and I always made a point not to because there are people with fertility issues/having MCs in the waiting room. The receptionist asked me why I didn't bring my newborn once, and it made me feel like a bad mum and was a little judging. The dr who did the detailed scan at another clinic didn't allow children in the office which I 100% agree with.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/12/2021 19:11

Oh my GOD @Kay00, I'm so sorry. Quite frankly none of her fucking business and where is the sensitivity?! ❤ You'd be completely within your rights to complain if you wanted to

Gracie2021 · 15/12/2021 20:19

@Kay00 I'm absolutely fuming for you. Wish I could give you a massive hug. So sorry you had to go through that and I'd love to give her a big slap with a wet fish. Some people have no sensitivity! So sorry and especially with you trying to do a decent thing!

Farley21 · 15/12/2021 21:01

@Kay00 sorry to hear that! I hope you're feeling better x

Juno231 · 16/12/2021 10:06

@kay00 wth is wrong with people?? I hope she felt terrible - what a hag!!

Kay00 · 16/12/2021 10:13

Thank you ladies xx I didn't realise how fragile I had become, so I curled up on the sofa, watched Netflix and ate (far to many) Malteser truffles before going to bed early. I'm considering getting some counselling too.

Today I am researching the different IVF clinics in my region and thinking about my next steps. Onwards and Upwards!

Gracie2021 · 16/12/2021 14:51

Glad you're looking after yourself @Kay00 this whole thing takes its toll. I've considered counselling too tbh. You gotta do whatever gets you through to the other side of all this. Sounds like you're having a productive day and making good steps xx

MissC07 · 17/12/2021 20:39

Hi ladies, sorry I've been a bit awol. My grandad passed away suddenly a few weeks ago so have been supporting family.
On a small positive though I ovulated at CD20 which is a new record for me (over a year later). So am just waiting for AF now as we've had zero baby dancing this month. Hope you are all ok x

MintGreenLife · 17/12/2021 21:04

@Gracie2021 I have oat milk which I find to be a really good alternative ☺️ It’s much better than nut milks.

I’ll post my dairy free tips/advice asap, as I promised I would! Xx

MintGreenLife · 17/12/2021 21:49

So dairy free tips…

Any dairy will be listed in bold as milk, regardless of what it is, so it’s easy to quickly check if anything contains dairy (only allergens are listed in bold, so will only ever be a few ingredients in bold).

Meal suggestions…

Breakfast: granola, berries & dairy/soy free yoghurt (I like coconut yoghurt best). Fruit & fibre & oat milk. Porridge made with water, with a little cinnamon, kiwi and raisins, or banana.

Lunches: chicken, salad & Mayo sandwich, homemade veg soup, bread and dairy free spread.

Dinners: spag bol, Thai green curry, chicken pie (skip the cream, most shop bought puff pastry doesn’t contain dairy), paella, sausage ragu, fajitas, omelette (skip the cheese), stir fry with rice noodles, salmon with sweet potato chips & veg.

Fav products: Nomo for chocolate, koko coconut yoghurt, oat milk definitely the best alternative. Also discovered you can make mac and cheese with almond milk and dairy free spread, if you’re just trying to cut out high lactose things such as milk (cheddar is low lactose).

Not sure how much use that is, but might be a good starting point ☺️

@Kay00 tagging you as I said I would share xx

MintGreenLife · 17/12/2021 21:50

GU do really good dairy free desserts too!

Kay00 · 17/12/2021 22:50

Those are some really great and tasty meal ideas, thank you so much @mintgreenlife 🥰 I had sushi for dinner and biscuits from the new vegan chocolatier that had opened up 5 minutes from my house (eek... dangerous I know!).

Moocher90 · 19/12/2021 18:01

@Juno231 have I missed your BFP!? If so I am so sorry and I’m so happy for you if it’s true xx

I am scrolling back through msgs but they are all jumbled and says the last messages on the thread where from yesterday but it’s not like how I would usually see it xx I’m so confused 😂

@MissC07 sorry to hear about your loss 💐 ❤️

Gracie2021 · 20/12/2021 07:56

@MissC07 so sorry to about your Grandad. Hope you're all minding yourselves. Glad you got an early ovulation and hope it's a sign of good things ahead in 2022.

@MintGreenLife thanks so much for the tips, they're fantastic. Unfortunately been failing madly on the food side of things. Blaming a combination of lack of will power and steroids but almond milk porridge and homemade soup are on my success list too so will keep working at it.

@Moocher90 how are you keeping these days? Hope all is well.

Juno231 · 20/12/2021 08:18

@MissC07 so sorry to hear about your grandpa, I hope he passed peacefully ♥️

@Moocher90 haha yes 2,5 weeks ago! I'm 6 weeks today 👏🤞. What's the latest with you?

@ChinChilly how are you doing?

Moocher90 · 20/12/2021 08:18

@Gracie2021
I’m just plodding along got my hycosy this morning :/ and I’m hoping whilst they are there they check to see what my AFC is and if there is growth as I really would like to ovulate this cycle I’m CD8 today

Moocher90 · 20/12/2021 08:27

@Juno231 I am so happy for you! And what a nice surprise just in time before you was meant to have IVF!

So I’m hopefully exchanging contracts on my new house this week and then with a view to move in middle of Jan :)
Hycosy today which I am not looking forward to at all having already experienced one and know what it feels like :/
Other than that not much going on with me! Hoping for an Xmas ovulation as I’m CD8 which would really cheer me up.

Went and had my covid booster on Friday last week so I hope this doesn’t mess with my cycle.

OP posts:
Gracie2021 · 20/12/2021 16:41

Massive congrats on the house @Moocher90. So exciting. How did the Hycosy go? Hope they kept you informed on what was going on with your count etc. Im booked in for the booster tomorrow actually. Good timing actually since this is a low hope cycle so not too afraid of impacting anything. Did you have any effect from your vaccine previously?

@Juno231 well done on 6 weeks 🙌 did you say you were traveling for the holidays? Hope ye got to go.

Moocher90 · 20/12/2021 17:02

Surprisingly the hycosy didn’t hurt as much as the first @Gracie2021 abs never said anything about my AFC :(

And yes I just can’t wait to be in my new house! Been in my current house 4 years but knew it was never our forever home.

And I’m sure one of my last covid injections messed up my cycle from memory but also could be anything that made it longer! Who knows….

ChinChilly · 20/12/2021 17:08

@Juno231 I'm still being struck down by sickness, the tablets the doctor gave me tend to stop being sick but I permanently feel like shit, I'm at the end of my tether with it to be honest and can't wait for it to start easing up.

Next scan is the 4th Jan, should be about 12 + 3 all being well.

@Moocher90 congratulations on the house! We've been thinking about moving alot recently.

@MissC07 sorry to hear about your grandad, hope you're all keeping ok.

Sorry if I missed anybody elses updates I'm not very good at keeping up at the moment.

madeleine85 · 20/12/2021 17:44

@ChinChilly what did the dr put you on? I had the really bad morning sickness too when with DD. I'm a Brit, but in the USA as married to an American, and they put me on Zofran which was very good at stopping it. My sister had sickness with both of hers, the first was in Holland where they gave her something that stopped her from being sick, but not from feeling like she was going to throw up (she was wildly depressed by the end of pregnancy as a result of this as she felt sick for the whole 9 months), and in Australia with her second they did Zofran like for me, and it really worked for her. Sending all the well wishes your way, week 9 was probably peak feeling awful for me, then it slowly got better and was done by week 18. The weird part for me was when the sickness went away, but I couldn't feel the baby yet, and I was permanently convinced there was a problem. It was truly bizarre to miss feeling so awful! Hope you get on the right medication soon, harass your doctor if you don't feel better. It is much more dangerous to a foetus to be dehydrated/malnourished vs be on certain tested medications, but I know the good old NHS is a little cheap with what they give out...
