@Kay00 such a stunning place you live in. It’s actually on my bucket list to visit especially for the wild ponies. Some day! Sorry you had a tough few days, the medicated cycles are tough for raising the hopes. I’ve seen it written that you need 3-5 to really give them a chance but I know my hopes for the first couple we did were sky high so the come down was even tougher. The approach to IVF is similar. After all my positivity last week, had a wobble at the weekend myself…. I’m letting myself take each day as it comes and whatever I feel on each particular day, letting it wash through….

@IsabelHerna best of luck with the meds and hope all goes smoothly for you.

@Moocher90 so sorry you’re stuck in limbo and fingers crossed the witch arrives soon.

Hope you had an amazing weekend @WhirlingD and best wishes in your marriage. Sorry the timing didn’t work out for you with AF but hope you were kept busy with well wishers and glasses of bubbly. Are ye taking a few days always got a honeymoon?

@mrsmacmc very strange. Definitely a good idea to have DH on video or even speaker phone. That second set of ears is so important especially when you’re not sure what kind of app you’re walking into.

@Robyn101 congratulations - hope you and your little one are both well and healthy xx

Gracie2021 · 21/11/2021 22:32

@WhirlingD sorry I didn’t see your last message. Glad you had a lovely day and hope the honeymoon is a wonderful break away. Strange calling him husband? Fingers crossed for that honeymoon baby!

IsabelHerna · 22/11/2021 23:02

@Gracie2021 thank you! How have you been going along?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/11/2021 11:51

Is anyone else starting to feel a bit actively bored/frustrated about thinking about TTC? Like, its been so long, its all I think about. Im just feeling very ground down about it I think?

mrsmacmc · 23/11/2021 13:38

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes feeling quite deflated and frustrated 💐 🥰

Doesn't help that there's been a flurry of 'we're expecting' announcements recently in our social circle.

mrsmacmc · 23/11/2021 13:39

So, called the fertility nurse and she's confirmed it's the wrong version of appt letter that's been sent and DH should come to appt too. We shall see what the 6th brings!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/11/2021 14:11

@mrsmacmc me tooooo. Everyone is pregnant.

I hope your appointment goes well! Im just waiting on an initial NHS letter which Im praying is soon...

Juno231 · 23/11/2021 14:28

@TheDaydreamBelievers I don't think it helps that your medical interventions haven't really progressed much at all so you're stuck in limbo for longer than most! But yes I'm bored of it all - I don't think I've cared about the TWW since I had some hope post HSG really. Just given up until someone can just shove an embryo in there 😬

@mrsmacmc phew - and fingers crossed for the 6th

@WhirlingD congratulations and I hope you manage a honeymoon baby ♥️

I think I'm 1dpo? Time will tell

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/11/2021 14:52

Absolutely @Juno231 - so much limbo! And uncertainty. All I can hope is that its soon.

Kay00 · 25/11/2021 13:02

Hi ladies!

I feel super frustrated too. I just can't get my head around why its taking so long (even though I fully understand the science), as it seems to happen so quickly for so many people!

@Gracie2021 I agree, my hopes got seriously dashed after my first two failed cycles on Clomid. I also read somewhere that 75% of women who go on to conceive with Clomid do so in the first three cycles, so (in my mind at least) if it doesn't work this cycle then i am likely looking at IVF. I hope I'm wrong, and what you say about needing 3-5 cycles to really have a chance is true xx

I'm on CD 14 and hoping to ovulate in next day or two. I travel to Wales tomorrow afternoon, and then to London for a long weekend, so tomorrow AM is my last chance to DTD before I likely ovulate. My last two cycles I ovulated on CD16, and CD15. However, my OPKs are still negative and my cervix is not very high. I'm getting lots of EWCM, so remain hopeful this won't be a wasted cycle - eek!

Mushrooms0up · 25/11/2021 14:08

Hi all,

Do you mind if I join? I’ve read the whole thread and I feel like I’ve found my people….

I came off the pill in March and had irregular cycles since. Starting at 35 days, 45 days, 55 days and the last one 116 days…. I just started AF yesterday.

DH (35) and I (30) were planning on trying end of next year, but given how all over the place I am we’ve started now, armed with the knowledge it’s probably going to take ages.

I spoke with my GP as I have diagnosed PCOS and she was quite helpful, advising to try for a few months and she will refer me to gynae for Metformin as needed.

I’ve started on pregnacare supplements to see if that will help my cycles, unless anyone has any recommendations?

Your stories have been so reassuring.

Kay00 · 25/11/2021 19:20

Hello @mushrooms0up! Welcome! I'm a fellow PCOS sufferer too 🙃

I used to have random legnth/long cycles too; some I thought I ovulated, some I definitely didn't ovulate. I'm on Metformin now but my cycles first started to reduce in length after I started taking conceive plus ovulation support which contains Myo Insitol which is meant to help with PCOS symptoms. They are quite pricey though, so you could see how your first few TTC cycles go before investing in some expensive supplements 😊 hopefully you won't need any.

Mushrooms0up · 25/11/2021 19:27

@Kay00 nice to meet you! Sorry you’re also in the PCOS club.

I’ve looked at conceive plus and it has great reviews so good to hear a first hand account. I’m going to give it a try early next year I think depending where I get to. Given I’m on cycle 1 I’m going to give it 6 months or so leisurely trying and trying not to obsess

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/11/2021 21:04

@Mushrooms0up hey hey! I don't have a pcos diagnosis but have some kind of ovulation disorder. Shortest cycle 45 days, Longest 141! I'm awaiting fertility clinic intervention as have been on this train a long time

Mushrooms0up · 25/11/2021 22:06

@TheDaydreamBelievers hello! That must be so frustrating! Do you have other symptoms or is it just rogue ovulation? How long is the fertility clinic taking?

MissC07 · 25/11/2021 22:06

@Kay00 fingers crossed for this month for you!!!

@Mushrooms0up hi!! I also have PCOS, recently diagnosed. I've been prescribed Metformin but am still yet to take it... I really need to get my backside into gear but all this TTC stuff is really getting me down at the moment. Wondering whether life would just be easier with me, OH & the dog....

Mushrooms0up · 25/11/2021 22:13

@MissC07 I also keep wobbling , it’s so hard isn’t it! Our life is pretty good and I’m worried I’m getting into TTC because I just want what I can’t have. Almost to ‘prove’ to myself I can conceive.

That probably makes no sense to anyone else!

It’s crazy how every else just seems to know. (Or they conceive straightaway and don’t get chance to overthink it!)

Kay00 · 26/11/2021 13:27

@Mushrooms0up haha, I totally get what you mean. When I started this process I thought 'lets just see what happens, if it doesn't happen then so be it' ... but now I'm obsessed Grin and I am determined to have a baby!

@MissC07 hang in there if you can! This is all so super difficult, but the Metformin wasn't nearly as bad as any of the horror stories I watched on YouTube. You can do this!

I'm CD15, lots of EWCM and my OPK from 11am was about 65% so I'm hoping to ovulate today/tomorrow. OH and I DTD this afternoon (sorry TMI) but it will be our last chance before I ovulate as I start travelling within the hour.

I likely won't be able to use my thermometer whilst I'm away (I'm going to be sharing a bed with my mum lol) so I'm relying on other signs... eek! I feel lost without my temp charts lol! Grin

Juno231 · 26/11/2021 13:41

@kay00 sounds like you'll be covered! Good timing really. Idk if I missed it but what will you be getting up to?

@Mushrooms0up welcome and don't worry, you'll be obsessed with TTC in no time 😅. It has a nasty way of taking over our brains

4dpo but this cycle feels like a write off! Spent yday and today with high fevers and doped up on lemsip - no embryo would want to implant now I reckon 😅.

Ladies I just had an old timer on another thread (TTC jan 2020) just get her bfp without any intervention so fingers crossed it can still happen to us 🤞

@ChinChilly how are you doing?

ChinChilly · 26/11/2021 15:34

@Mushrooms0up welcome

@Juno231 I'm just plodding along with my head in the sand 🤣 I spoke to a doctor at Tommy's on Wednesday I thought they'd be cross that I was pregnant again before the appointment but they were actually really pleased... I'm going in on Thursday for a scan and some bloods, I'll be 7+5 on Thursday so probs won't see a great deal and with what happened last time I probably won't find it all that reassuring either. Sounds like you're feeling crappy hope that passes soon

@Kay00 sounds like you got it covered!

MissC07 · 26/11/2021 19:19

@Kay00 thank you!! I hope you have a fab time in London. Maybe take your thermometer with you and just pretend you're feeling feverish 😂

@Juno231oh no!! Hope you feel better soon, there is so much going around at the moment. I've just got over a horrible cold and sound like a chain smoker when I cough now

@ChinChilly hope your scan goes ok!

Kay00 · 26/11/2021 23:37

@juno231 my mum, sis, 10 Yr old niece and I are going to Harry Potter studio tour tomorrow and the Sea Life Centre on Sunday, then shopping on Monday. And we're staying in a super posh 5* hotel and I'm very excited 😁😁😁

I hope you start feeling better soon. Amazing news about your 'old timer' from another thread. It does seem to happen spontaneously sometimes 😊 just like it did for lovebug 😊 we live in hope!!

@chinchilly I hope your scan gives you some reassurances at least xx

I hope we've got it covered. My opks haven't got any stronger today... but then I never had much luck with them. I had some ovulation pain today and my cervix is HSO. So think ovulation could be happening/about to happen which would be great 👍

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/11/2021 00:22

@Juno231 this does give my march 2020 soul some hope. We have had soso many announcements this month and it's killing me. We are not tracking anything this cycle as I've kind of given up

Juno231 · 27/11/2021 08:19

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes she literally had her first fertility clinic appointment scheduled for Monday! She's rescheduled it for now though as she doesn't want to assume it's a sticky bean...

@Kay00 ah yes you said - I just felt like that must've already happened! It's absolutely freezing this weekend so wrap up warm ♥️ I might head in to Oxford Street area to visit a scandi shop for some Swedish Church's Christmas goods as my OH is spending the day with friends.

Tillybabs · 27/11/2021 08:41

Hi ladies sorry I've been absent.

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes I'm fed up and stopped tracking now tbh. I've been TTC since Sep 20 and not a sniff of a BFP. I turn 41 in Jan and feel a bit depressed about it all tbh

@Juno231 glad the mock transfer went well. When will you be having your transfer? In the new year?

@WhirlingD congratulations on your wedding! And sorry about your scan results but glad you have a plan in place.

@ChinChilly congratulations! I really hope this is the one 🙏🏽

There's nothing new my side. Still waiting on my hysterocopy. I phoned the hospital only to be told I wasn't on the waiting list so I've now been given an appointment in June 2022!! So I contacted my medical insurance and they will cover me so have my consultation in 2 weeks time before I have the hysterocopy. Have an MRI with the NHS before then.

After that the clinic will decide on the best course of treatment. I might have to down regulate for 3 months to suppress my adenomyosis before a frozen transfer. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard especially when the likes of Jessie J miscarried and I find out she has the same condition.

On the plus side I found out my cousin also has it and she had a baby boy at 45 years old via IVF! So there is hope.
