@Kay00 just remember vulnerable wee old men can still be creeps getting their rocks off making sexual implications. If he starts making insinuations about getting you pregnant, it's okay to say "that's COMPLETELY inappropriate Clive, never say that again". Also that would make me so sad to have anyone being like "ooh are you?" So I feel for you xx

Juno231 · 16/11/2021 20:56

I'm with @TheDaydreamBelievers @Kay00 - perverts get old too! And often hide it behind the old frail man act.

IsabelHerna · 16/11/2021 22:59

@WhirlingD wow, I don't know how I would react to such bluntness! In any case, focusing on the positives, you're starting on Jan! You've got a couple of months to relax and recover from all the tests and the stress.

How are all of you going on?

I got assigned a patient coordinator the other day, and had a few chats with her about next steps and if they need more tests from me.

WhirlingD · 16/11/2021 23:40

@Kay00 I agree he's just just a creepy old man. You could always try the "it's just not that easy for some of us" line, but unfortunately that may egg him on. Perhaps just avoid?

@IsabelHerna thank you. I am indeed trying to relax. No tracking and no watching my alcohol units. It's quite liberating. Apart from the hangovers!!

Juno231 · 17/11/2021 14:26

I had my trial embryo transfer today. They called me in at 1203 and I was out again at 1214 🤣. That's including our pre and post procedure chat. They made it sound so much worse than it was - showing me this big catheter, warning me it'll be quite crampy and keeping a nurse up by my head for support/holding my arm for comfort. Erm... I didn't feel anything 😅. Male gynae said it's because he's a pro 😎.

All clear though, won't have any problems come transfer day. He did say though that my notes from the hysteroscopy said they struggled to get in a bit and that with my LLETZ/LEEP it's wise to have a look as otherwise sod's law it wouldn't work on the day.

Next up is blood tests in a month's time.

@IsabelHerna how are you getting on.

MissC07 · 17/11/2021 16:43

@Juno231 glad your appointment went well today!!

I've just started spotting and have horrendous cramps and nausea. Full blown AF is on her way. On the bright side, a CD25 Ovulation is great with my track record!!

ChinChilly · 18/11/2021 08:06

@Kay00 I think some people, especially older people still think those questions are ok and don't see the harm in asking. Actually when I went to the hairdressers one of the salon juniors asked me if i had any children and I said no and she replied 'I've got a little boy, don't do it you're so lucky' I was just sat there thinking if only you knew 🙄

@Juno231 Glad the trial transfer went well!! Must be starting to feel exciting now?

@MissC07 boooo for AF but atleast your bpdy seems to be getting back on track!

Not much to report here just plodding along, my overthinking brain kicked in yesterday as i got into bed and I was thinking right if this is another MMC how am I going to deal with it..anoter D&C or medical management... god this shit does not get any easier 🙄

madeleine85 · 18/11/2021 17:03

Hi Ladies, I read your whole thread last night, and wow, you have some really tough experiences and I am wishing you all the best in your journeys. Hoping you get good results very soon.

I am 2 months of the post pill period, first child was a miraculous accident, so this is the first time really trying, so of course this is slower. I am 36, husband 39 , he had an op as a child and was told there was a 40% chance of conceiving, and I had a 20 year eating disorder, so I really think our chances are very low. Where I live, at 35 you can go to a dr to get checked for fertility issues after 6 months, so it is going to be a long 4 month wait. Thanks so much for the info re. follicle counts etc, it is eye opening, and I didn't know we had numbers/checks for that. Now of course, I want to know now, but can't yet. We have provisionally said that we will try for 2 years, and if it doesn't happen, we will just be really grateful that we have one child, and that is an unexpected blessing (hoping you all get that soon). I am sure as we progress through the 2 years it will get harder though. I'll probably linger in the background of this, as we are relatively new to this journey, and I don't want to be insensitive to what you wonderful ladies are going through.

Final thought, is my first 2 months off birth control have been particularly side effect full. I never had as much as PMS before, and now I have cramps, aches, headaches, nausea, the whole works. Last month I had a hot water bottle on my back for 2 full weeks. It is improving, but I am concerned i've somehow developed endometrisis or something post pregnancy and i'm just starting to feel it. Clearly, i'm going to be a worrier! Wondering if anyone else had a particularly bad pill come down experience?

Kay00 · 18/11/2021 20:33

@madeleine85 welcome to the party! Hopefully you won't be waiting a full two years to get pregnant, and hopefully you won't need to go for investigations in 6 months either, but if you so then there are plenty of us on here that have experience (and occasionally wise words) 😉

@Juno231 @WhirlingD @ChinChilly @thedaydreambelievers thanks xx I have no doubt that Clive as been a bit of a perv his entire life 😂 he used to be a milk man... so his background checks out 😂 but I know he's a nice guy, who wants what he thinks would be best for me. The biggest issue is I've never told him I wanted kids, he just assumes that because of my gender 🙄 so it's often a very awkward conversation with him! I do try to avoid him, but his wife is very sweet and it's a small street 🙃

@juno231 I'm super pleased your trial went well! It must feel good to be making progress 😊

CD7 here and not much to report. Just drinking my pomegranate juice and eating my Brazil nuts 😆

Gracie2021 · 18/11/2021 21:02

Just catching up on everyone’s adventures ladies! @Juno231 so glad your trial went well. Is it all seeming very real now?

@Kay00 not much you can do so and as you say just pass him off. Have to admit a benefit of living out the country that I missed while we were in town is the lack of neighbours. Now when I head up the fields I only have the cows and sheep to be chatting at me! Get the impression you’re quite outdoorsey?

@madeleine85 welcome! Sounds like you’re being. Very proactive about it all and fingers crossed for you for a short stay in the TTC world. A lovely bunch here so you’ve landed in the right place.

@ChinChilly just sending all the virtual hugs. Hope time goes quickly over the next couple weeks for you.

Had our consult with the second IVF clinic today and definitely preferred the first which I hadn’t been expecting but is great news as it’s nearer home. So have my last monitoring app with my current RE in a few days and then I’ll move to the IVF clinic for two months of Letrozole, prednisolone and baby aspirin in Dec and Jan with IVF to kick off for my Feb cycle. Is it weird that I’m relieved to be getting to IVF? Like the payments coordinator today was saying “we understand this can be an upsetting time….” Etc etc but that was me back starting medicated cycles, not now. At this point I just can’t wait to get started and have the hope again…. Maybe strange but riding the happy IVF train as long as I can!

Kay00 · 19/11/2021 06:20

@gracie2021 yes, I love spending time in the country and go for long dog walks on weekends in Dartmoor, Woodbury common and on the farms on the outskirts of Exeter, so plenty of sheep, cattle and wild ponies!

It's great that you have decided on your IVF clinic 😊 I don't think it's odd at all that you're looking forward to it. The progress gives us hope. I had another wobble last night as I am loosing the hope for my medicated cycles, and I think IVF is likely in my future too. Hopefully when I know for sure I'll get that hope back too xx

IsabelHerna · 19/11/2021 16:09

@madeleine85 Welcome to the club dear! I hope your journey here is going to be a short one x

@Juno231 Wow is it really just a 10' thing? It sounds like so much worse. How are you feeling?

@WhirlingD how is relaxing going on?

I am getting on well so far, I will be starting medications in 10 days!! I feel so excited, I am ready to throw a party because I've been waiting for so long!

madeleine85 · 19/11/2021 18:33

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, it is so nice to see a really uplifting forum of women helping each other, so i'm really glad to have found you! It looks like 2022 is going to be a really exciting year for some with IVF/moving forward in the process so good luck to all (except Clive lol) xx

Moocher90 · 19/11/2021 21:31

Evening all, nothing much to report… CD36 and no sign of AF! I just want AF to arrive already. Haven’t ovulated so just want this cycle over 😳

@madeleine85 welcome
@IsabelHerna relaxing going well!!

Well ladies, I'm getting married tomorrow (or rather, today, looking at the time!)!! Husband to be has had a few too many and is asleep beside me SmileI have jobs to do in the morning so didn't drink too much.

Annoyingly I'm spotting. I'm on CD25 and 14dpo. What bloody great timing hey? No honeymoon sex for me! Even though I've been told I've almost no chance of getting pregnant naturally, I convince myself I'm pregnant every month! I was daydreaming yesterday that I got my BFP on my honeymoon. Instead I get AF!!

I can't believe it's the night before my wedding and this is what I'm thinking about. I honestly am genuinely happy and excited for tomorrow but TTC really does take over your life doesn't it! Even when you are trying to relax!

MissC07 · 20/11/2021 01:25

@WhirlingD congratulations for today! I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️

mrsmacmc · 20/11/2021 13:09

Morning all, nothing much to report here. An appt letter has dropped through the door this morning, I'm assuming it's to discuss blood results / DH SA. Think I'll need to call them on Monday as it specifically says 'come alone' in the letter Hmm

Kay00 · 20/11/2021 21:03

@whirlingD congratulations on your marriage today ❤🥂 I hope you're AF doesn't put a spoiler on your special day xx

@mrsmacmc odd, do you think the want you to go in alone due to Covid?

mrsmacmc · 20/11/2021 22:42

@WhirlingD hope you are having an amazing wedding day 🥰

@Kay00 I don't know, I'm going to call the fertility nurse on Monday as everything up till now has been joint and I can't see them giving me / discussing with me only about DH SA result? I know our HB has went back into stricter COVID measures due to rising cases in the area. I'm also going to ask if it's possible to have a video consult too so we can both be at the appointment as it's always good to have a second set of ears 🤷‍♀️. My anxiety gremlin is chattering away too just now, I'm concerned it's not the results consult either as we were told they wouldn't discuss until all results were back and it's a referral for something they've picked up gynae wise with me or an opportunity to try and strong arm me into having a HyCoSy in outpatients rather than as a daycase. It was briefly discussed at previous appointment and when I voiced my concerns with previous outpatient gynae attempts being failed and had to rebook as a daycase, I got shut down with 'we'll discuss this again later'. Back story on this was I've had a lap in the past but the consultant didn't check my tubes. Sorry that turned into an epic! ❤️

TW: Baby announcement

I just wanted to let you know I had my little boy at 39w+2.
I genuinely wouldn’t be here without this thread and wanted to let you ladies know who were at the start of my journey. With lengthy 100+ day cycles what I learnt about BBT and ovulation tests was invaluable and the support incredible.

I hope you all get your dream bundles very soon ❤️

ChinChilly · 21/11/2021 18:13

@WhirlingD congratulations on your wedding, hope you had a fab day!

I had a lovely wedding, thank you. Am now on honeymoon with my new husband and dog!

CD2 here. I found out at the wedding that my little brother's wife is pregnant. They had been trying for 18 months and I couldn't be happier for them.

Am putting all my efforts into a miracle pre ivf honeymoon baby! X
