Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

I didn't even think of that! Durh! I'm in East Leeds.

Sandies · 14/12/2007 20:47

Are you from there origionally? Do you live near your school? I love the distance of the M62. How bizarre

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 14/12/2007 20:51

It's a small world! No, I lived in Scarborough until 2006. I moved when I got married and started teaching at the local school. It's very good, so I wanted to live in the catchment area to ensure that DD gets in when she's old enough (She's currently Year 5).

Sandies · 14/12/2007 20:53

sorry Abby, so excited when I read where you were I missed the Dc question. I had my DC before I became a teacher. DD is 21, DS's are 19,12 and DGS is 2.5. GS has lived with us for over 18 months and it was hard in the beginning, but managable. Timing is everything I believe.

poppysocks · 14/12/2007 20:56

Thought I'd pop in quickly now that I'm back online after a week away.

Sorry it was such a sad weekend for so many. Glad everyone seems a bit more chipper now. It is the weekend and with Christmas just around the corner so lots more distractions from ttc.

Things here fine. Dr confirmed pg today. I remember posting her early pg symptoms on here and I kept going back to them. In case they're useful to anyone else, here were mine:

3/4DPO slight nausea and odd stomach feeling. A bit like the tugging lots of people mention
5 DPO had a really salty taste in my mouth and really thirsty.
6 DPO felt like AF pains
7 DPO about three hours of really quite painful cramps
From 9-13 DPO intermittant and mild waves of nausea, slightly sore boobs and AF pains.
All as above now except the AF pains. (Weirdly for me, the AF pains were a clue as I don't usually get them!)

  • pg test came on 10DPO

Fingers crossed for everyone. Will pop back to see how things are going and hope to see as many of you as pos on the August thread, which I'm about to feel brave and join....

P.S. Judging by the lingo, I suspect we went to the same uni GG. Great place.

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 14/12/2007 21:01

It's going to be a challenge. DH has just been accepted to pursue an MSc on two evenings a week for two years. That, combined with work, baby and DD with brownies and singing lessons and everything else should mean I am a nervous wreck a few months after returning to work . I'm just accepting a baby is a choice that I want to make and it's going to be tough.

Anyway, best say night night as I am shattered at this early hour. This half term has been murder. Roll on next Thursday!

Sandies · 14/12/2007 21:03

Night Abby. It will all be worth it hun x Did Poppy say thirsty??

07Christmasistheword · 14/12/2007 21:20

Pixie It's lovely to see you always feel free to pop in. I hope everything goes well on the 15th Jan and that you get your BFP very soon after.

Abby at oven in pieces. How awful!

Poppysocks Lovely to see you aswell. Glad the doctor confirmed PG for you. Thanks for the symptoms info I've read with great interest. AF due Monday and I don't feel PG at all although I did have some tugging sensations during the week they've gone now. I just find it so bloody frustrating how similar AF & PG Symptoms are.

Hi Sandies we are cycle buddies too. How spooky all the similarities between you and abby Hope your oven is safe

Sandies · 14/12/2007 21:26

Hellooooo 07 x One of the three should be lucky this month. I don't think it'll be me though. When will you test?

07Christmasistheword · 14/12/2007 21:37

I'm trying to hold out until Sunday but I have a sneaky feeling I will crack tomorrow with FMU I ought to just wait because I just know I'm not PG and I know I will be disappointed but I have to know. This is just mad behaviour.

hedgepig · 14/12/2007 21:40

I wonder how we manged before preg' tests? Were ladies ttc more of less sane?

Sandies · 14/12/2007 21:45

i'm sure mine will be negative so am choosing not to test and will just wait for af. I don't have a clue when, or if, I ovulated so maybe there is hope for me yet to get off the rollercoaster

Sandies · 14/12/2007 21:51

07 If you wait until Tuesday I will test too. Then we can congratulate or console. Which test shall I get?

07Christmasistheword · 14/12/2007 23:18

Hedgepig Yes they must have been insane.

Sandies Thank you but I know I won't be able to wait that long. I test early because I've had 2 chemical pregnancies since May and if I have another the doctor said she will send me for tests. Well that and the fact I'm just so damn impatient.
My cupboard consists of 3 First response, 4 Clear blue digital and 4 cheapie ebay test. I've also developed a problem with buying sticks to wee on.

07Christmasistheword · 15/12/2007 08:11

Impatience got the better of me and as expected BFN. They say 2 out of 3 ain't bad so here's hoping Bucky & Abby get the BFP's

So hurry up AF lets get on with cycle 10 I'm into double figures!

PicknMix · 15/12/2007 08:43

Awwww mtw really sorry to hear about the bfn. How early were you testing? When is your af expected (apologies if you've already written this, I'm hopeless at remembering things)

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 15/12/2007 13:11

Mums naughty early test here too. BFN as well . Have been feeling quite miserable.

Two men rolled up in a van and asked if they could have my rather battered oven from the heap of kitchen piled in my driveway. So DH and I watched as they loaded up the remains of £250. They also took the rather hideous brown sink, circa 1980. .

B&Q this evening I think...

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2007 14:27

Abbey and MTW . Sorry about the BFNs however, its not looking good here either. I have had a bit of (tmi alert) brown spotting and my cramps are crippling. So all said I am sure TEW will turn up with her pointy hat and broom in tow . I am pretty gutted too this time round. Cycle 8 is going to suck....8!! Sorry to be insensitive to the 8+ month possee...I know you have been waiting even longer, but EIGHT months, I could almost have had the bleedin baby by now.... I will grasp at the last straw and hope she doesn't turn up proper for now....

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2007 14:29

AND I have decorated my tree and it looks sh*t . Have to go out and get new decs and redo it....grrr...baa humbug.

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 15/12/2007 15:12

Bucky Does Finn like your tree? I got mine decorated and it actually looked okay, then the kitties undecorated it for me! It is a shadow of it's former self.

Sandies · 15/12/2007 16:31

Hedgepig and Abby - bad news for the BFN but it is too early.....
Excellent Christmas spirit Bucky, Leeds was full of people with similar festive attitudes It really does not bring out the best in shoppers...
CD24 for me, spotting brown gunk, slightly sore boobs and feel like my back may break at any moment. Crabby as hell and af hanging over me like a black cloud.Think I may just take sweeties from babies, kick over OAP's sticks and cut my nose off to spite my face.
Feel much better

Sandies · 15/12/2007 16:42

Sorry Hedgewig, I meant 07 - bad temper error Am off to spread more joy and happiness

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 15/12/2007 17:13

Sandies am in admiration of your bravery - Christmas shopping in Leeds! I forced DH to take me in November, because I would hurt people if I ever had to battle the crowds in December again. Saying that, I did have an altercation with a cyclist in Tesco today. He cycled across me (as I was pulling into the spaces) in the carpark, going the wrong way around the one-way system, then had the cheek to spout something at me as I nearly turned the car in onto him. So - hormonal moment - I tracked him down in Tesco, like a crazy woman possessed, and informed him of his error! DH stood back, looking sheepish - he claimed he was sizing him up, in case it turned physical . That'll teach him - do not mess with abbymeg when it's a week before Christmas, she has no kitchen and it's likely she's not conceived again .

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 15/12/2007 17:18

Oh, p.s. for those of you concerned for the cyclist's well-being: he tried to argue with me, told me to learn to drive and walked off. DH had to convince me it was a bad idea not to run outside and damage his bike!

Promise - I'm usually much more tolerant of other people! It's been a bad few days

hedgepig · 15/12/2007 17:46

don't talk to me about cyclists Abby, I had one cycle into the back of my car so hard (I was stationary at a roundabout) that he dented it and scraped it so it needed a respray of the boot (I'd only had it 3 weeks)

I suppose it is one of the joys of driving in Cambridge.
