New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

@JeanieJ mine is 17.7 and I too looked it up and got worried as it said average for my age (40)

But I then went by the CCG criteria which is 5.4. They class that as low and you wouldn't qualify for ivf on the nhs if below that. So you are above that which is a good sign.

But even if you were below the 5.4 marker, there's still a chance with a low egg reserve.

I mentioned before but a friend had a low egg reserve and she was denied ivf on the nhs. She went private and had twins and then less than 2 years later, conceived naturally. So it can definitely happen.

@JeanieJ AMH isn't something you can improve I'm afraid. All you can work on is egg quality and leading a healthy lifestyle to prevent it from dropping further prematurely.

@tillybabs hopefully just a polyp, did the person who spotted the 'mass' give any indication of its size?

@jeanieJ my AMH was 64... which is way too high! Apparently it means I'm not releasing eggs and they have just stored up I guess 🤷‍♀️ I still live in hope that I ovulate each month but no bfp's yet!

I picked up my 8 months worth of Metformin today 😆 the bag was bloody massive! I have been researching foods I can eat with it, as high GI foods, foods high I sugar and alcohol can make you pretty poorly. So it's an excuse for me to clean up my eating and loose the 1/2 stone I have put on in the past 4 weeks 😳😅

@Kay00 no indication on size but I know I have/had fibroids from a scan a few years ago so I guess it's that or at least I hope so

She wasn't very clear, just said she could see a large mass but it's not clear as was on my period. So I got worried and said is it something to worry about and she said it's probably a fibroid. I guess something sinister would have been picked up on the Hycosy no?

@dogmam how are you? Any update?

Ladies how do they date you're embryo? Is day 1 the collection day or the next day?

@Tillybabs can you feel anything in the area that she sees the mass?

Went to doc today about the pain in my (good) side when I BD, she did an internal exam and it HURT, so referring me for dildocam. That's my 4th one this year 🤪

I'd said it to my consultant last week & he just said 'all the more reason for the laparoscopy', but with the waiting lists at the moment, I don't think I can wait that long.
I actually called the hospital just to query how long it'll be & the lady couldn't give me an answer.

I've been booze free for 3 months now, non alcoholic beer is my saviour. Only crap thing about being booze free is that everyone thinks you're pregnant 🙄 I've literally had people touch my tummy! If only they knew!

@JeanieJ no can't feel anything and have no worrying symptoms.

It's likely the polyps that was seen when I had my Hycosy or possibly a fibroid. I just want Thursday to hurry up and come!

@JeanieJ have they said how long you might be waiting? Will it be done under the clinic or do you have to go back to the gynae department for that?

Hi ladies, aw thanks for thinking of me. Well after our day 3 embryo update I lost all hope and felt the whole thing was over but on our day 5 update we got the news that 2 of our embryos had made it to blastocyst and were great quality, I cried down the phone as honestly was not expecting it. So now we have those two frozen and awaiting my cycle to get back to normal ready for our FET.
I feel like for the first time in a very long time, even before IVF, I have a few weeks where I can breath and switch off from having to think about anything knowing we have two safe and sound in the freezer. I feel like a lot of people talk focus on the injections stage of ivf but honestly that is a breeze, it's the emotional rollercoaster aftwards that is so hard.

@purpleunicorn01 when are you starting stims? Day 1 is the day after egg collection. So you'll be told on how many eggs are collected right after retrieval, then the next day, you'll be told how many eggs are mature and how many fertilised, then you get a day 3 update and finally a day 5 update.

@kay00 exciting that you have your metformin! I felt the same seeing the size of the bag of injections, took up half the fridge!

@Tillybabs that's good you're not in pain & fingers crossed you get more clarity on Thursday 🤞
For the lap, the consultant said the waiting list is about 3/4 months and it would be done by him / under clinic. It could take longer though. The lady on the phone today didn't want to put me on a cancellation list.
I was a bit scared of waiting that long, which is why I went to my doc about my left side pain. I reckon I'll get a transvag sorted in the next month 🤞

@dogmam great news! Im on day 1 of stims. Im on 300 iu of menapur. Feel terrible already but i don't know if its also due to the heat!

@JeanieJ I hope you won't have to wait long - I think I was lucky with mine and got it in less than two months even though I'd been told 3-4.

@PurpleUnicorn01 yay for stims! When is estimated EC? How do the drugs make you feel?

@juno231 how are you? I know im so excited. Egg collection is estimated next Friday. I have had the worst migraine on stims however it seems to have resolved now with some paracetamol. I don't think this heat helps though as i feel like im constantly looking for a fan and ice lol. I have 2 scans next week to check folliclw growth which is exciting.

@juno231 aw bless you, I would have updated had it been good or bad news but so pleased it was good! I haven't had a McDonald's in years since going vegetarian but might be tempted to get the fries after FET! Although think we will take the day off work and maybe go somewhere fancy and make a day of it. How's the new job going?

@purpleunicorn01 bet it's starting to feel very real now you've started stims! I had one or two headaches too but fine over all, bet this heat isn't helping you though. Is your partner doing your injections for you? Scans will be exciting! What was your AFC when you had your investigations?

@dogmam think of the fries as the amuse bouche 😂. Still working my notice I'm afraid - won't be starting my new job until beginning of October. Assuming I pass the extensive background checks first 😅. I sent all my info in Friday before last but it can take three weeks for them to complete it so let's see.

@PurpleUnicorn01 oof I'm glad paracetamol works at least. Let us know how it goes at the scans next week - I'm excited to hear all about your eggies!

Hi ladies just giving an update on my scan today.

So last week during my baseline scan they thought they saw a large mass. Today now I'm not on my period, they've checked again and all is well. I have some small fibroids and no polyps.

I'm so relieved as was very worried for a week!

She said she can see two eggs maturing. When I ovulate I have to call to book another scan for a week after to confirm ovulation I think? And then a follow up to start the ivf process. Not sure why I need that further scan?

@Tillybabs phew! What a relief! Maybe the mass was just some normal period swelling or some blood clots

@dogmam, I think going for a special meal sounds lovely . I think that would be much less stressful than sitting in a car queuing for some overly salty, limp Maccy D chips

@Juno231 I'm not starting them until Monday, as I have my big charity walk this weekend, and I could do without the diarrhea - haha!

Hello sorry I've been MIA, I am a teacher and we've had multiple covid cases and teaching online along with the medications and scans I've not had chance to get on here.
Just a quick update from me. 1st scan after Estradiol showed 17 follicles, followed by 1 week on Meriofert and Fyremadel and my scan yesterday showed only 5 viable eggs measuring 16, 10, 9, 11, 8 then the smaller ones are 6,6,6 and 4. Considering the large amount of follicles this was really disappointing. They have upped my Meriofert from 225 to 300 and hopefully the baby eggs catch up. No symptoms with Meriofert and Fyremadel except feeling hungry all of the time. Homerton have messed my meds up and I'm having to go and pick up more. I feel like I can't complain as I'm NHS, even though the service hasn't been great. Womb lining is looking good (I feel like no one tells me the measurements, unless I ask) there was talk yesterday of possibly abandoning this cycle which is disheartening. I'm just catching up on this thread, so you may see a flurry of messages 😉
