New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

JeanieJ · 02/12/2021 18:09

@beckyCarlos that's so exciting! Totally get why you feel emotional, it's alot. Xx
@Kay00 really sorry the clomid didn't work 😔
@thislittlebird that great your manager will give you time for EC! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

Little update from me. I've got my lap next Wednesday & feeling a little nervous.
Also got a call from the fertility clinic & got my IVF criteria appointment in Jan.
Anyone know what I should expect? Xx

JeanieJ · 02/12/2021 18:11

@Kay00 sorry I meant @thislittlebird on the letrozole, fingers crossed your cycle goes well this month 🤞🏻 Xx

Juno231 · 03/12/2021 09:53

Just an update ladies that I got my bfp yesterday at 10dpo. The month before IVF, typical!

I'm not really planning on telling the clinic until the last minute, just in case it doesn't stick 😬

beckyCarlos · 03/12/2021 10:20

Aw @juno231 this is amazing!! Congratulations! X

JeanieJ · 03/12/2021 10:47

@Juno231 OMG that's amazing! Congratulations 💕💕

Gracie2021 · 03/12/2021 12:06

@Juno231 beyond thrilled for you. It’s the best news!!!! Dead right to keep your app til the last second for that bit of added assurance. How are you feeling?

@thislittlebird glad you’re getting support in work. Funny I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve seen my GP til I saw you mention yours. Was so used to being in and out for BC prescriptions. We’ll be IVF at the same time(ish). I’m approx 5th Feb. so great to have other people here doing at same time for support!

@JeanieJ great that you have your lap but understandably a bit daunting too. And your IVF app too. It’s all happening for you. Would that mean IVF potentially soon after?

@beckyCarlos fingers crossed for the weeks ahead for you. I’d say it’s a storm of emotion as it approaches. Are you beginning in Dec or Jan?

@Kay00 brilliant to be getting the six cycle free even though they are emotionally draining. I updated my sums the other day and we’ve spent thousands to get to this point. Will be worth it in the end but hard to see on the page. How’s your TWW going?

dogmam · 03/12/2021 14:56

@Juno231 Oh wow congrats! Really kept you waiting! You must be over the moon xx

Hi all, I was signposted to this thread Smile

I have my first NHS hospital phone call next week. I am pushing 40 and we have been trying for over six months.

My question is, I had a chemical in early October. Should I mention it? My worry is that I mention it, they say “oh so you can conceive” and then make us wait longer for further tests. I’m really not sure what to say.

Also my GP did my day 21 test for progesterone but she also did my FH and LSH test on day 21 too. My understanding is that these results are therefore meaningless as they should be carried out on day 3. (I tried to ask her this but she disagreed.) Anyway, would the hospital let me have a FSH and LH test on Day 3?

Would really appreciate any thoughts, thank you Smile

Juno231 · 04/12/2021 11:11

@Decaffe I wouldn't mention the miscarriage at all as you're right in that it would delay investigations and at 40 you don't want to risk that! You're also right about the day 3 test but the clinic will probably just redo those - is worth mentioning though as you'll need them to be accurate for your Ivf application if it comes to it.

beckyCarlos · 04/12/2021 12:31

@decaffe hey 😊 what Juno said! You definitely need day 3 LH and FSH, but your clinic 'should' organise these for you if your GP won't (not sure if it'll help but you could try speaking to the practice nurse, she did ALL my bloods (8 vials I think 🤢, rubella, vitamin d, thyroid, chlamydia, fsh etc) and she knew what days they needed to happen on etc) x

Decaffe · 04/12/2021 12:47

Hi @Juno231 and @beckyCarlos, this thread isn't on my "I'm On" so I thought I had typed my reply but not posted it, how strange!

Thanks so much for your comments. I am so glad I asked opinions, I didn't know that an early miscarriage could delay investigations. However I have just done some searching of old threads and found one from about six months ago where a poster was told she was ineligible for IVF as she had 'been pregnant' before - wow.

In that case, I definitely won't say anything. TBH if it weren't for early tests and my own research, I wouldn't have been known that chemicals were a thing and would probably have just thought I was having an incredibly heavy/strange period.

I will mention the day 3 blood test issue though.

Wow, I am really so glad I asked. Thanks again Smile

thislittlebird · 04/12/2021 12:49

@Decaffe yeah I also agree, don’t mention it. The GP should do the day 3 tests, I had a crap one that didn’t run them but if you ask them they should do it.

thislittlebird · 04/12/2021 13:27

@Kay00 it should be free, right? I thought you were doing it with the nhs.

@dogmam I would like to switch off but you know how it is, still hoping we can conceive naturally every damn month lol

@Gracie2021 oh that’s really close to me! Nice to have other people doing it a similar time.

beckyCarlos · 04/12/2021 13:40

@gracie2021 forgot to reply! I'm starting downreg in Jan, stims in Feb 😊 sounds like a couple of us will be at the same time, yey! X

Juno231 · 04/12/2021 13:40

@Decaffe yeah I got my bfp this week but am honestly not telling my clinic until the last minute in case it goes tits up. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd have to wait 2 years again to qualify for IVF on the NHS.

thislittlebird · 04/12/2021 13:56

@Juno231 I’d do that too, it’s ridiculous that you could be sent back when it’s taken all this time initially.

dogmam · 05/12/2021 10:16

Just to update, my official test date was yestersay and it was positive!! Had a little bit of spotting so clinic is doing bloods tomorrow for me after my chemical last time. Tested again today 10dp 5dt and line darker so feeling much better this time around. Can't believe it.

@dogmam whoah congratulations 🎈🎉 you must be thrilled!
Fingers crossed everything goes well 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 xxx

Juno231 · 05/12/2021 10:51

@dogmam yaaasss congratulations!!! We'll both be due within a couple of days of one another 😁

thislittlebird · 05/12/2021 12:23

@dogmam really pleased for you, that’s great news. Second transfers working out gives me hope somehow. I see so many first time successes on here and it’s good to see second or third, I need to try to go into this not expecting first time success, or at least realising there’s still hope without it. That’s if we can get any embryos of course, with the old male factor 🤪

beckyCarlos · 05/12/2021 12:35

Aw @dogmam yeeeessss!!!! So pleased for you!!! Fingers crossed it all goes well. These successes are keeping my hope up :) x
