New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

@dogmam just been reading your posts & wanted to say hi. We were due FET this week but my lining was too thin so they’ve paused protocol. BARTS now closed till 25th Jan so will start next cycle in February with oestrogen tables to boost my lining. Is this what’s happening with you? Sorry If I’ve misunderstood

Gracie2021 · 06/12/2021 09:28

@dogmam OMG!!!!!! Two BFP in one week. So beyond thrilled for you and great that you're seeing the lines getting darker too. Hope ye've had a wonderful weekend celebrating. Would love to read your journey to the BFP if you felt like sharing after processing it all but no pressure. Delighted for you!! And great that you and @Juno231 are due same time for support along the way.

@beckyCarlos delighted for you that you got your dates and great that there's a few of us at the same time to support one another through. Hopefully it comes around quickly :)

@Jkjellyhead welcome and so sorry to hear your transfer was cancelled. There's a few of us doing treatments in Jan/Feb so good for support, think beckyCarlos and @thislittlebird and myself so far but hard to keep up with the messages flying in sometimes and I could be missing someone.

@Decaffe So sorry about your chemical and you're dead right not saying anything in the clinic. Some of those rules for length of time trying again before seeking treatment are so prohibitive. Sounds like you're being super proactive.

Just waiting for CD1 here so no news except I HATE crinone progesterone. Anyone used this yet? Dreading the next two medicated cycles already because of it.

dogmam · 06/12/2021 12:14

Aww thank you all so much!! Fingers crossed this is it for us. I've had bloods taken thus morning at the clinic so waiting for them to ring me back this afternoon with the results. I've had no more spotting since the day I tested so fingers crossed. I also got 2-3 weeks on clear blue digital so hope this is a good sign!

@Juno231 ahh yes, August babies!! I'm trying to not get too carried away but obvs I checked the due date calculator ha

@thislittlebird your turn soon, treatment just round the corner for you xx

@Gracie2021 thank you so much! Of course.. in a nutshell we have male factor (2% motility and 2% morphology), everything with me fine, regular cycles etc however scan showed lots of follicles so suspected polycystic ovaries (not PCOS though as no other symptoms). IVF with ICSI started June (short protocol), 19 eggs collected and ended up with 2 blasts which were both frozen due to OHSS risk, so no fresh transfer. First FET was September time, positive test but resulted in chemical. We transferred our last embryo in November, upped my progesterone from x2 pessaries to also include lubion injections this time due to the chemical before, and got my BFP on Saturday!

@Jkjellyhead my first FET I had x3 estrogen tablets from day 2 of period until test date plus x2 progesterone pessaried from 6 days befpre transfer to test date. My lining was 7.6mm that time so medication done it's job but resulted in a chemical.
This time I done estrogen x3 a day from cycle day 2 but on my first lining scan it was only 5mm so I upped estrogen to x4 daily for an extra week and manged to get lining to 7mm, the minimum my clinic will allow, I also have progesterone pessaries and injections 6 days before transfer. I got my BFP so it seems to have worked for me. Hope this helps and good luck!

@dogmam woohoo!!! Huge congratulations... I'm super pleased for you!!

@thislittlebird no, I'm a private patient, but have so far only paid for 2 x consultations, 1 x HyCoSy. The SA was never charged to us nor were any of the other blood tests I had or the scans for Clomid or any of the drugs! I'm a bit confused by it, but I'm not going to bring it up unless I get sent a large bill Grin

@Gracie2021 I'm currently 10DPO but my temp dipped today so I think I'm heading out of this one. I haven't tested and I'm not tempted to... I really don't think it has worked. This is my 3rd round of Clomid, and I think if it hasn't worked yet, then it will unlikely work for me, even with six rounds. Strangely I feel like I am dealing with the bad news better this month. I have been asked to re-contact the clinic at the start of my 5th cycle (mid January) to arrange another consultation, and I imagine we will be discussing IVF.

Jkjellyhead · 06/12/2021 13:25

@dogmam this is so helpful, thank you. I just want all the drugs so it works Grin.

Really enjoying hearing all your stories, thanks for sharing.

Gracie2021 · 06/12/2021 15:39

@dogmam thanks for sharing. So glad your second FET has been a success and as a fellow thin lining here, it gives great hope to me for our treatments.

@Kay00 sorry about the dip. Fingers crossed it surprises you yet 🤞! Funny how diff months hit differently. Some I’m fine and others hit hard. Sounds like they’re being proactive anyway so great to have IVF lined up ready for after the sixth round. I’ve just finished 6th now and wish we were just doing IVF now, at this point it just feels like a waste of time for the next two months medicated while we wait for the IVF. Wish I’d been more proactive moving to the IVF clinic but at least with 8 months I’ll be able to say we have it a shot 😂😂🙈 how are you finding the clomid in terms of mood?

thislittlebird · 06/12/2021 22:59

@dogmam I hope so 😬. I got an email today saying my meds will arrive on the 18th Jan. will that include progesterone too? Because I wanted to ask for cyclogest instead of utrogestan (I think that’s the name). I don’t want to have to use it vaginally every time because I get a lot of thrush, I’m wondering if they’ll change it if I ask.

@Kay00 I forgot you were private, probably because it’s 6 months on clomid because I know the nhs do that plan a lot. Weird. My clinic is slow with billing but usually about 4-6 weeks after you finish an invoice arrives in the post.

I feel like I took the failure of month three better than the previous because I knew it had failed, I knew this was not going to work for me. It might for you over the course of six months, you never know. When is month six?

@Gracie2021 how many months are you doing in total, eight? I thought you were only allowed six with clomid? You won’t be able to say you haven’t given it a try at least!

I saw my GP in the flesh for the first time since 2019. We were chatting about how the private clinics love an expensive scan lol

Kay00 · 07/12/2021 22:17

@gracie2021 I have to admit I have been pretty lucky and had zero symptoms when taking Clomid. But maybe that's because I'm on 25mg dose?

@thislittlebird haha, I'll probably get a large bill at some point... but in the hope that I don't I'll keep my mouth shut 🤐

Maybe I feel better about it too this month because I kind of just know it won't work fif me either... but I have 3 more cycles to try, so you never know. I think my 6th cycle will start mid Feb so I'll probably be thinking of ivf in Spring/Summer next year?

Kay00 · 07/12/2021 22:17

Ladies.... we need a new thread!!

thislittlebird · 07/12/2021 22:31

@Kay00 do you want to set one up? Or should we wait for @dogmam? 🤨

Jkjellyhead · 07/12/2021 23:54

@dogmam can I be included in the new thread please? As you say, sounds like similar timing to a lot of women on here x

Gracie2021 · 08/12/2021 07:55

I've been lurking a while now and have never set up a new thread so figure I'm overdue for the job and don't mind if it would help?

@Kay00 glad you don't struggle on it, have heard such horror stories about the mood. The first one I'm really struggling with is the progesterone, worst PMS I've ever had coming off it the last few days but also had some bad personal news so taking it with a pinch of salt and will see how next month goes. CD1 here so just relieved I can get cracking scheduling my scan etc. Sounds like anytime from March/April for your IVF then, fingers crossed the medicated cycles work for you and you don't get that far but also time will hopefully fly by in the meantime. Will the IVF for you be private also?

@thislittlebird Very exciting and scary when it becomes real like that. Won't be long until Jan 18th comes around! On the progesterone, I'm going to ask my doctor to switch me off the vaginal gels after this month too, too many downsides of it for me. I'm 4 months Letrozole, 2 months Tamoxifen and moving back to 2 months Letrozole. Can't do Clomid because of my thin linings unfortunately so not caught by any length of time issue there and while I'm going back to Letrozole they're adding in other supports and treatments alongside which hopefully might make a difference this time...

JeanieJ · 08/12/2021 14:52

@Kay00 can I be in the new thread! 🙂

Just had my laparoscopy this morning - just a bit achey - nothing painkillers can't handle.

So, my tubes aren’t blocked, but I have significant scarring all down my side from childhood appendicitis… its around my womb & bowels which has made some things stick together - he unstuck some adhesions from that, they removed a cyst & I have moderate endo that they removed… he said none of this was in the tubes, but around them & in my womb, so in theory should not impact fertility… so now I am ‘unexplained’ … it may delay my IVF funding app, as the timeframe is 2 years if you’re unexplained & I’m under that … but we’ll see what happens… the appointment is still in the diary.

Kay00 · 08/12/2021 19:40

@jeanieJ interesting about your scarring and glad to hear they didn't find anything too serious. But being classed as unexplained must be frustrating!

@gracie2021 please go ahead and set up the new thread 😊 hopefully it will be a lucky thread for those of us still TTC!

Gracie2021 · 09/12/2021 07:48

HI all, new thread started at www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4421823-Fertility-Appointments-and-Beyond-the-journey-continues?watched=1

Tried to link in as many people as possible but apologies if I've missed anyone.

@JeanieJ Glad your lap wasn't too bad painwise and nothing too serious found. Sorry you're caught in the unexplained camp too. Depending on the day I can be equal parts relief that there's nothing wrong and frustration that we don't know what we have to "fix"..... Hope you're able to push for IVF sooner rather than later though. Fingers crossed even though I'm assuming the endo is mild, you could maybe push for it on those grounds?

Juno231 · 09/12/2021 07:50

@JeanieJ eek it was the GA I struggled with post lap, pain was fine too. It's mad that appendicitis can cause all that! I had no idea! I had a similar thing where they found endo but didn't think it would have affected my fertility and therefore I was deemed to have unexplained infertility.

Angelik1988 · 16/01/2022 17:41

I got in the list early December . They said that there is a queue and I might need to wait 18 weeks.

thislittlebird · 16/01/2022 19:55

@Angelik1988 hi, the new thread is over here if you want to join www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4421823-Fertility-Appointments-and-Beyond-the-journey-continues?watched=1

MahanK · 11/04/2022 15:50

Hi ladies
Any paying patients at Guys hospital who would be doing a round soon?
In Feb 2022, I was supposed to do a second round of IVF at Guys (on NHS) and to my surprise I found out I was already 6 weeks pregnant. So cancelled IVF. But I had already received all of the medications, which due to COVID, I’ve been asked to just dispose of them - but I don’t want them to go to waste - I’m sure someone else can make use of these esp those who don’t get help on NHS. Please message me if you are doing a paid round and I can give you a full list of what I have. I’d love to help all of those who are still trying in any way I can.

thislittlebird · 11/04/2022 15:54

Hi @MahanK - this thread is old but you can find latest thread here! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4518466-Fertility-Appointments-and-Beyond-the-next-chapter
