Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

No spotting

I've done 3 hcg strip tests now and nothing. Started from 11dpo until today

I haven't done a frer yet. Will wait until tomorrow if AF still hasnt come

Kay00 · 14/07/2021 15:22

@tillybabs same here, no spotting (which I normally get) but mild cramps. Odd!

Tillybabs · 14/07/2021 15:38

@Kay00 I'm cramping more so suspect she's ok her way!

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 14/07/2021 16:57

Hi all

Just an update from me after my meeting with the consultant this afternoon.

Sadly, I'm no further forward in terms of knowing what's going on as my AMH results haven't come back yet (meant to be 10 day turn-around but it's been 14 days. The consultant is going to keep chasing.) She said that if my DH's SA comes back OK after he has the results next month I will be offered HSG.

I was advised that IUI would be an option if the SA results were good and my tubes were clear. However, worryingly at my age, IUI only has a success rate of 5-7% and IVF is not much better at 10-15%. As there's really not that much in it, and I was able to conceive naturally 3 years ago, I was recommended to go for IUI in the first instance.

I was also advised to take 1000mg of Omega 3 in addition to my folic acid and 300mg Ubiquinol, and that DH should be taking Wellman Conception supplements.

I'm so frustrated. I just want to know my results Sad

Kay00 · 14/07/2021 17:47

@tillybabs My period just arrived... bang on time. Damn. Ah well. My prescription for Metformin has been issued so I'll go and collect that this weekend. I probably won't start it until after my big charity walk on 24th/25th July though as I Met can put you off your food/make you sick and I need to be in tip top condition!

@mickymackyboobaaboo how frustrating!! Hope you get the results soon. Did the consultant explain why you should be taking the Omega three too?

Tillybabs · 14/07/2021 17:53

@Kay00 boo! Sorry to hear that

I'm pretty sure she's arriving for me any minute too

Was hoping she would arrive for me today as I'm out all day on Saturday and having a heavy period when out is not the one lol

@Mickymackyboobaaboo that's so annoying. I hope you get the results soon

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 14/07/2021 19:30

@Kay00 Sorry that AF has arrived.

Re the Omega 3, apparently there is data to suggest that it can improve fertility. She also mentioned following a Mediterranean diet for the healthy fats and oils, which I mostly do anyway.

Thanks @Tillybabs Really annoying!

Hey guys,

So I finally had my follow up appointment. AMH is 14.3 and I deffo ovulate. Left tube is grand, but there's concern around my right tube - either blocked or spasmed on the day. He said if it is damaged, it’s very likely from my appendicitis. I was given 2 options. 1. Start IVF in 3 months (I get fast tracked because of the tube). 2. Get surgery in 3 months to investigate tube & unblock them. He said he’d recommend the 2nd option first because I’m young & it gives me a better chance of having a second child without needing help.
I’m going for the surgery, so am on the waiting list. (Been TTC for a year)
Have you guys had the lap before?I hope I'm making the right choice.
x

Tillybabs · 15/07/2021 13:35

@JeanieJ glad you finally got your results and your appointment went ahead.

I think you are definitely making the right decision. Once both tubes are clear it will give you a better chance of conceiving. If months down the line nothing happens, you can still be referred for IVF.

But having that tube unblocked definitely gives you a much better chance now you know you are ovulating.

AF has arrived today! I have my baseline scan tomorrow

I'm not looking forward to that lol

JeanieJ · 15/07/2021 17:03

@Tillybabs thanks for the reassurance ... I had a bit of a wobble about it today.

Good luck with your baseline tomorrow. Not nice having it on day 2, but I'm sure you'll be fine!

xx

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 15/07/2021 18:06

@JeanieJ your AMH results sound good. I had mine through today and they're 3.3, which I thought sounded really low but are apparently normal for my age?

Sounds like you've made the right decision regarding your tubes; it's definitely good to know what's going on. I know that I either have a cyst or a dominant follicle on my left ovary but I'm not sure if I have any blockages. If DH's SA result comes back normal I'll be having mine checked.

Juno231 · 15/07/2021 20:39

@Mickymackyboobaaboo was that in pmol/l?

@JeanieJ I had a lap in April and it was fine! Just got sick from the general anaesthetic 🤷‍♀️

@dogmam any updates on your embabies??

dogmam · 15/07/2021 22:01

@juno231 not doing so great over here Sad of the 19 eggs collected, 10 were mature and 6 fertilised, so a huge drop off rate. Then worse still, day 3 update from the embryologist today, 2 of the 6 have only divided into 2 cells and the other 4 although have divided how they should, also are all fragmented. Need to wait until Saturday for the next update. Absolutely devastated to potentially not make it to a transfer, feel like it could be over before I even have a chance.

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 15/07/2021 22:02

@Juno231 I have no idea, sorry; I didn't realise there were different measurements? I was just told over the phone that it was 3.3 and normal for a 42 year old. How else is it measured? I don't really know much about it all to be honest so any advice appreciated.

JeanieJ · 15/07/2021 22:42

@dogmam oh no, that's so disappointing. 🙁 hopefully something happens in the next two days.
Hope you're doing something nice to mind yourself.
Sending you all the luck 🍀

Tillybabs · 15/07/2021 23:06

@dogmam sorry to hear that but hope you have a positive update next.

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 16/07/2021 12:36

Good luck for tomorrow @dogmam

@Juno231 I just called the clinic and they confirm it was pmol/l

Tillybabs · 16/07/2021 14:17

I had my baseline scan today. Lining of womb is fine and I have good egg reserves. But she said she could see a mass in the muscle cavity if my uterus so I have to go back next week so she can see properly as I was on my period.

Of course I'm worried now although she did say it's possibly a fibroid. When I had a scan a few years back they said I had one. Also they said in my Hycosy they could see polyps.

But of course I'm worried now lol

She was asking if I have ever had a caesarean. I said no never had children lol

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 16/07/2021 15:26

@Tillybabs It's good that they're getting you back in to scan again next week and that you don't have to wait too long to see what's going on. I know it's easy for me to say but try not to worry, especially if they've already seen polyps previously. Flowers

Tillybabs · 16/07/2021 16:56

@Mickymackyboobaaboo thanks. Yes the appointments at the fertility clinic are quite quick which is good

Juno231 · 17/07/2021 08:34

@Tillybabs hope they sort you out ASAP - it's good they are getting you in so quickly for the follow up

@Mickymackyboobaaboo ah yes at 42 it makes sense. Are the NHS okay with you proceeding to ivf if needed? A lot of CCGs set 5.4 as the minimum limit I think.

@dogmam I am so sorry to hear that update :( best of luck for the next update today and that you hopefully have one good embryo as that's all you need.

@PurpleUnicorn01 what's the latest with you?

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 17/07/2021 16:01

@Juno231 we don't qualify for IVF on the NHS for a number of reasons and can't afford to pay privately for it. If remaining tests come back showing everything's OK we'll just keep trying (and I might look into DHEA supplements) otherwise we'll accept that DD will be an only child and be eternally grateful for what we already have Smile

PurpleUnicorn01 · 18/07/2021 12:44

@Juno231 i hope you are well. Im on downregs at the moment. Hopefully start stims on Monday after a scan.

JeanieJ · 19/07/2021 08:48

Heya,
Anyone have recommendations for improving AMH?

Mine is 14.3, which my doc said was normal and wasn't concerned, but after reading up about it, it reads low for my age (34). I know that all it takes is one good egg, but it's got me a little worried.

Also AF is def due to arrive this weekend, as I already had my day 22 insomnia ... I'm like a clock!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 19/07/2021 11:00

@JeanieJ i mine is 6.1 and im the same age. I wouldn't worry about it. My dr said its also fine. Its about the quality not the quantity x i do take coq10 ubiquinol and vitamin E, along with the usual pre-natals x
