New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

@thislittlebird she doesn't have pcos x

thislittlebird · 23/09/2021 19:29

@PurpleUnicorn01 ok, the lack of ovulation plus that made me wonder. Hopefully the clomid and maybe a trigger will work for her while she tries to get ivf!

thislittlebird · 23/09/2021 19:30

@Orlane I don’t know if anyone here is waiting but could you email them and ask how much longer the wait will be? That’s a long time

Tillybabs · 23/09/2021 20:03

@Orlane there's a thread on Croydon fertility clinic here Croydon fertility treatment centre www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/3759206-Croydon-fertility-treatment-centre

I do recall there is a bit of a wait for the lap.

I'm with them and they are normally quite good but this particular procedure has a waiting list.

Orlane · 23/09/2021 20:04

I tried to call everyday but without much success. Where can I get the email? Just checked it’s not on the letter Hmm
Thanks for your quick reply

Tillybabs · 23/09/2021 20:04

@PurpleUnicorn01 I will do. I'm eating but when I eat I'm feeling full really quickly

thislittlebird · 24/09/2021 07:45

Well, the Letrozole cycle did not work. I have to keep taking the progesterone and test again Sunday, so that’s fun. I might try one more cycle of IO and then we’ll be closer to ivf.

Lori23TTC · 24/09/2021 16:34

Hey… I hope I can join.

Im especially excited to have found @Tillybabs as we are pretty much at the exact same time in our IVF cycle and I am also at Croydon university Hospital! I had my second scan today… I started Gonal F on Monday 20th and im starting my Cetrotide tonight alongside. Great to have found someone in the same boat!

A long story short to my ttc journey.. I’m 33yo and hubby is 35yo. Ttc since August 2019 so just over 2 years - it’s been tough to say the least but we are halfway through our ivf cycle and trying to stay positive!
It’s been lovely reading through the thread and I’m so glad I’ve found you all! X

Tillybabs · 24/09/2021 16:41

@Lori23TTC welcome! Yes we are almost exactly at the same stage. I start the cetrotide tomorrow!

How have you found it so far? Did they tell you how many follicles you have?

I'm having my eggs frozen so they can do a hysterocopy after. I'm just praying I have at least 1 good egg from this one and only cycle I get on the NHS.

How have you found your experience at Croydon? I've found it mostly positive. It's funny I was in there yesterday for a scan and they told me that quite a few women were at the same stage.

Lori23TTC · 24/09/2021 18:17

@Tillybabs I’m finding it ok, the injections are strange to do on yourself but I’m feeling confident with them now (well now I have to do 2 we will see if that confidence continues🤣) I got a headache almost instantly and the bloating/belly cramps started yesterday, I’ve felt quite emotional but that’s to be expected. They told me today that my eggs are at a good size so that’s why I’m starting the cetrotide a few days earlier than expected. They told me before I started they were expecting me to get 20 eggs but I only have 10, 6 on one ovary and 4 on the other so I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed, I need to be positive that I have 10 in there all at a good size though as that’s great!
So you will be going to Harley street for your egg collection too? How long after until you can have your hysterocopy?
So funny we have been going to the same place! I’ve found Croydon good with some things and others not so good, it’s really hard to get through on the phone and they don’t always call back… they messed up an appointment, when we got there they said they had no room for us for the injection demo so had to do it in reception 😬 but the nurses have been good and they always get me in for appointments so can’t really complain. It’s a hour drive for us so that’s a pain as it takes a few hours at least out my working day but my boss is understanding! How have you found Croydon?

Juno231 · 24/09/2021 18:59

@PurpleUnicorn01 that sounds like a normal lh level as her test results indicate these are day 3 blood results? Lh is meant to be low then. The disparity between lh/FSH for pcos is meant to be the other way around i think, so an LH of triple the FSH would be indicative of pcos.

Sounds like normal day 3 results to me.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 24/09/2021 19:08

@Juno231 thank you x i hope you're well.

Tillybabs · 24/09/2021 19:34

@Lori23TTC I've found them generally good. The only thing really was they said we can call any time but last week when AF came I wasn't sure whether to start Gonal F on day 2 if day 1 was not full flow. Anyway I could t get through to anyone so had to walk around there. Luckily I'm less than a 5 min walk from the hospital.

I've found Dr Shubha seems rushed and I've been in there and she has forgotten my notes. But I do like her and actually she has been better of late. I think now she has seen me quite a few times she remembers me lol.

But in terms of my appointments and getting seen, I haven't had any issues.

I do think there's not much privacy in the waiting room for the scan though. I can literally hear everything being said whilst waiting.

You are similar to me then. I have 10 in one and 4 in the other. I've been on Gonal F for almost a week now and start the citretide tomorrow.

I will be going to Harley street for egg collection. She said I might know on Monday when that will happen. Eeekk!

When's your next scan? Mine is Monday

thislittlebird · 24/09/2021 20:38

Yeah the LH/FHS thing is the other way round for PCOS, I read it after mentioning it yesterday because i knew I'd read it somewhere before.

thislittlebird · 24/09/2021 20:40

Welcome to @Lori23TTC! We've been trying since October 2019 and will be starting IVF in the next couple of months, so not a dissimilar amount of time.

Lori23TTC · 24/09/2021 21:47

@thislittlebird thank you… it’s been a long old slog this ttc journey.. exciting that you will be starting ivf soon, how do you feel about it?

@Tillybabs yea it can be confusing, my spotting started on the Saturday and I was told to wait for ‘full flow’ but that didn’t start till around lunchtime on the Sunday so I just did that as CD1 and did my injections on the Monday, handy you are so close but not ideal you had to walk there to find the answers!
I quite like Dr Shubha but I know what you mean it does feel like they rush you and they don’t give you that much info. Oh the room you get changed in yes I know you can hear everything - I thought that last week as someone was in there before me.

Eekk Monday! My next scan is Tuesday and they have told me egg collection will either be Thursday or Friday but will know by Tuesday! I’m actually really scared for egg collection!

Tillybabs · 24/09/2021 22:05

@Lori23TTC gosh I reckon mine might be next week as well then maybe. So when do they take OH sperm? On the same day?

They never mentioned egg collection, I asked the nurse and she said I will know on Monday when that might be.

Tillybabs · 25/09/2021 08:23

Ladied, can we dtd whilst taking Gonal F? And does it need to be protected sex?

I'm finding some info online confusing. Is there a risk because my ovaries are enlarged?

Lori23TTC · 25/09/2021 09:20

@Tillybabs well I thought my EC would be on day 15 so I was expecting it to be next Sunday but they brought my cetrotide forward so I think it’s been moved up a few days but it sounds like you could well be next week too! Not sure on the sperm - don’t they have to ejaculate 3 days before EG too and then provide the sample on the day?

dogmam · 25/09/2021 14:00

Thank you for the well wishes ladies. It has been a long 9 days, I'm wishing the time away until next bloods on Tuesday just so I can be told to stop the pessaries and eastrogen and so I can focus on my next FET.

@thislittlebird sorry your letrozole cycle hasn't worked, fingers crossed for next cycle but as you say you're getting closer to IVF which is going to give you the best chance.

@Tillybabs @lori23TTC so exciting for you both. Don't worry too much about the number of follicles at this point although it's hard not to get caught up in the numbers. I hope you both find the Cetrotide ok, I found from when I started that, the bloating started. Your other halfs will give their sperm sample just before you're taken in for egg collection (it's specifically timed so they can try to fertilize straight away). On the lead up to EC, you need to use protection.

Hope everyone is ok.

@dogmam thanks for the info.

I hope you are ok x

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 21:46

@dogmam I hope it goes by really quickly for you, it’s so hard having to just wait yet again.

I’ve had a bit of a cry about the negative test since yesterday but I haven’t felt as bad as I normally would and I think that’s because I know IVF is getting nearer. Hopefully I’ll still be fairly calm tomorrow after the next negative but I’m pretty sure AF is on her way, I’ve had a migraine today, so she might beat me to the next BFN.

Ahhhh puppies have made my day! 🥰 @kay00

Tillybabs · 26/09/2021 11:39

@Lori23TTC how have found the cetrotide so far? The needle is bigger isn't it! My belly was a little sore after the first injection.

I'm finding I'm getting more CM than usual, are you finding that?
