New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

Thank you @dogmam sending positive vibes to you all. The acupuncture definitely helped i had it literally an hour after embryo transfer plus every week before. There's a lot of research on it. Plus its so relaxing.

The lady was specialist for ivf and fertility.

This ohss is not fun but i guess now it's worth it.

@PurpleUnicorn01 I need to get me some acupuncture i reckon! I did see there was a recommended fertility one about 40 mins from me. Might be worth a go!

@paintfairy go for it! Its so relaxing. Just make sure shes familiar with ivf acupuncture as the points are slightly different after embryo transfer x

@PurpleUnicorn01 I'm going to look into acupuncture as well. I'm a firm believer of it having used it in the past for sciatica.

@Tillybabs i think i had it for around 2 months in total my last session was on the day of embryo transfer

@PurpleUnicorn01 I've booked to go next week. She specialises in fertility (actually works out of one of the ivf clinics) but obviously covers all things. I couldn't decide if i would enjoy it or not. We shall see! I don't know what to wear though?

@paintfairy erm id say leggings and a top as they send to do some below you're knee and some on your tummy then on your back so a t-shirt

Ive been having acupuncture (for fertility) for the last couple of months and I absolutely love it. Clearly am not pregnant yet, but its really done me good mentally. Both ladies I see have been through IVF themselves so they truly empathise, and theres maybe 20 mins at the start of the session to talk about how I'm feeling, my cycle, test results etc.

My sleep has been better, my boobs no longer hurt before my period(!), my flow has been better, and if nothing else, its 20/30 mins laid down doing absolutely nothing which isnt something I get very often!

Would recommend giving it a go (I know its not for everyone, but for me it feels like I'm getting a big hug from the universe each time I go 🤣) x

Hi ladies

So I had a follow up appointment today with the fertility Dr and I finally know what the masses are now. I've got adenomyosis or so she thinks anyway.

Of course I googled this and then cried because it mentions possible causing issues with getting pregnant and could cause miscarriage.

But the Dr has not mentioned this to me or been overly concerned by it I guess because it's not severe and not affecting me.

So I've been told I will have my egg collection so they can take them and freeze them and then see if I need any treatment after. She wants to do it this way round because of my age.

@Tillybabs oh no. I had to Google that too, never heard of it. At least the dr has a plan though. Hopefully its not bad enough for you to need treatment.

Hey everyone

We've been TTC for 7 months now so we have bit the bullet and booked in for some private fertility tests. I've had my AMH blood test and need to have my 21 day one this week. My husband needs a blood test and SA.

I'm quite concerned though. I get really bad cramps when I do intense exercise and this was followed by bleeding on Wednesday. This is two weeks before my period. My GP immediately referred me for a pelvic ultrasound but I can't go until we're in lockdown.

Basically I am an anxious mess right now! I just want lockdown over so I can get some answers 😭 it doesn't help that I haven't got much to keep my mind busy while stuck at home!

@BritInNZ hopefully it's nothing much at all! Could just be a little cyst that popped or intense ovulation pain. Fingers crossed for you. Did they tell you what your AMH was?

@Tillybabs oh I see ladies on reddit with adenomyosis all the time! Hopefully it'll all be very manageable xx

@paintfairy how long before you hear back from the clinic you chose?

@Juno231 I'm not sure. Depends on how fast they pass my notes over i guess? My estimate is 3-4 weeks. 🤣

@tillybabs hope you're ok! If the Dr didn't seem overly concerned then hopfully this is a good sign. Just concentrate on your egg collection for now, and sounds like you're doing a freeze all round (like what I done) then will have a fet at a later date?

@PurpleUnicorn01 has your news sunk in yet?! When's your scan?

Well I started spotting last night so rang my clinic first thing and they've provisionally booked me in for my FET for a few weeks time (can't give an exact date until AF properly starts). I have to call back tokorrow to confirm if AF has started properly which ill do but i also mentioned that its 10 days late (which im just putting down to the aftermath of an IVF cycle and all the drugs messing up my cycle) but they want me to do a pregnancy test to double check.. I really really don't want to do one, it's pointless and just gives me anxiety. Anyway, I'll do one in the morning although hopfully AF will be here properly anyway so I don't have to. Having said that, I usually spot for a good few days anyway.

@dogmam yep that's the plan to freeze them and then do the FET later. How did you find the process?

How do you feel about the FET coming up?

I hear why you don't want to test, I've come to that point as well.

So I will be starting the first injection on my next cycle in September. I'm having my teach next week.

Once I start injecting, what's the timeline before they start scanning etc?

Reason I'm asking is because I had planned to do a hike with some friends at the beginning of October. Nothing strenuous but it would mean being away for 3 days. I don't know if I should now or not. I will most likely start my period around this time next month

@tillybabs sounds like you'd be CD9 or so? You'd be mid scans at that point from all the sample schedules I've seen online so the hike sounds off the cards to me. When will you next speak to the clinic to confirm the protocol?

@Juno231 I have the teach next week so I hope to find out more then. Tbh its best to just cancel the hike as I don't want to be stressing etc

@Tillybabs yes and actually you might feel crap on all the drugs anyway? Sounds like it could be a great thing to do just 2 weeks later perhaps?
