@polejunkie I dont think my clinic told me not to, they said no saunas, hot tubs etc, but I have read a lot of people saying you shouldn’t and also a lot of people saying it’s ok as long as it’s below 37c because if it’s too hot it raises your internal body temp which is bad for embaby. You could always contact your clinic and check with them.
How are you doing? I’m having loads of twinges, but I think it’s probably just the progesterone gel causing them.

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 08:51

@Sjhigs (you're not losing the plot!!!, keep positive!) @crazycatlady1981 thanks for replies, I wondered if it was just about temp, or risk of infection / washing progesterone out? I got told no swimming - not hot? And obv no saunas and hot tubs too... It's not the end of the world, just trying to relax is haaaaard right now!

Symptoms wise I think I can put all of it down to progesterone... Sore boobs which I had before xfer and other than that I pretty much feel like I do when I'm coming on, so nothing exciting at all... I do have a sore throat this morn, but my OH had a cold recently so looks like I'm just tagging that onto the last few weeks of feeling ropey haha
Will either of you be testing early? I guess you both have the same date as you had the same xfer day? x

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 08:58

@polejunkie raised temp can cause developmental damage in the first trimester so I'd have a bath that's not hot if I were you

@CycleGirl20 If my piddly nhs help doesn't pan out then I've got my eyes set on a clinic in Copenhagen. It's much cheaper than here, supposed to be really good and is easy to get to for me from London. The other option is a clinic called reprofit (i think) in Prague that has a really good reputation even here on MN and is even cheaper than the Danish one.

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 08:59

@polejunkie in terms of no swimming that's also due to infection risk!

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 09:00

@Juno231 thanks! That's so interesting re going abroad... I hadn't even considered that tbh...

Sjhigs · 07/07/2021 09:03

@polejunkie just I've heard success rates are higher in Spain and she said they told her lots of things differently to here

OK are you ready for it I've been doing Internet cheapies every morning since Saturday it was more to monitor the trigger leaving than anything else 🤦‍♀️wanted to make sure if I was lucky enough to have a positive it want it still in my system 😂😂 there you go plot loser over this way 😂😂😂😂

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 09:17

@Sjhigs haha that made me laugh - have they all been negative?

Sjhigs · 07/07/2021 09:28

@polejunkie positive on Sat negative yesterday can't rem the day before now I can't forget about it it's a morning ritual swore I seen something today.... Hello line eyes 😂😂 that's them started too 😂😂😂

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 09:44

@Sjhigs at least when you get a strong line you'll know it's the real deal! I really can't bear to see a neg, so I'm going to try and hold off as long as possible!!! Pah, famous last words!! x

Sjhigs · 07/07/2021 10:48

@polejunkie I'd rather know and get on with my day wondering about enough things at the min never mind that too I feel better when I do whether it's negative or not it's way too early anyway the end of the week il be stressing x

kerrym87 · 07/07/2021 11:13

@Marvellouslymadmum that's reassuring ...I think it depends where you look I looked at NHS website....clearly useless! 🤣 I was just thinking if its unusual for you just checking as I've found when you get a diagnosis they just assume every new symptom is because if that even when it's totally unrelated......

crazycatlady1981 · 07/07/2021 11:16

@Sjhigs I was considering testing out the trigger but didn’t in the end! Good to know it’s disappeared now!

@polejunkie I was told to test two weeks after the transfer, so was thinking around sat 17th maybe because DH will be home with me and we can rejoice together or console each other whereas on a weekday, he’s got to go off to work and I’d rather not be on my own if it’s bad news!

We’ve had the most stressful week though so I’m convinced it won’t have worked. DH is being head hunted and there a potential job offer looming which could be too good to refuse and involves moving to another county, but it would be a massive upheaval and we both love where we live so I’m all over the place with emotions right now! My embaby hasn’t had the best start in my stressed out body!! 😫

CycleGirl20 · 07/07/2021 11:54

@Juno231 what's your Danish clinic called?

Juno231 · 07/07/2021 12:07

@CycleGirl20 Trianglen and Vitanova have both caught my eye and seem to have the highest success rates from what I've seen so far. I think Vitanova is even under the Create umbrella though so focuses on mild/natural IVF.

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 13:56

@crazycatlady1981 gosh that does sound stressful!! I think testing when you’re together for the day is sensible, we both wfh luckily x

Sjhigs · 07/07/2021 14:26

@crazycatlady1981 ahhh no try not to stress and just because you're having a bit of a shit week doesn't mean it won't work. Ivf is actually awful it's just because we're aware of what happening my bf was on roller coasters in florida didn't know she was pregnant and everything was fine there I'm nearly scarred for life when I flipping sneeze 🙈😂

thislittlebird · 07/07/2021 15:07

@polejunkie @Juno231 I'm glad I've learned this because I love a bath lol.

I requested Letrozole yesterday from my clinic. I'm so fed up of waiting. We saw the urologist at the end of May, the IVF doc the beginning of June and the urologist went on holiday for a month so we can't get the results until July 26th. Requested an IVF doc appointment to formulate a plan and they're on holiday too until August 2nd. Hmm

I'm fed up of it, my cycle starts August 3rd (or earlier, or later) so I asked to try Letrozole for August cycle. They said it might not be worthwhile when we met before, because of his motility, and they'd wait for the sperm test results but I'm so sick of having no help. It may well not work but we can give one month a go. Waiting until September to try anything is going to drive me batty.

crazycatlady1981 · 07/07/2021 15:15

@Sjhigs omg I’m the same! I needed to cough the other day and was panicking that I might dislodge the embryo if I cough too hard!! 🤣🤣 it’s ridiculous how careful we are when most people in tww just go about their normal lives without even thinking about it!! 🙄 I was worrying my shopping basket was too heavy in the supermarket earlier!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@polejunkie If I wanted to test on a weekday, I wondered if I could save my fmu until the evening and test then? 🤔 or would it not work if it’s been hanging around all day? 🤷🏻‍♀️

polejunkie · 07/07/2021 15:17

@crazycatlady1981 hmmm I’m not sure, one to ask the clinic maybe? X

crazycatlady1981 · 07/07/2021 15:25

@polejunkie so dr google says hcg breaks down after 7 hours, so it’s best to just recreate fmu by holding wee in for 4 hours! 😊 I might do that instead if I’m itching to test next week!!

@crazycatlady1981 do you still have it mine was only about 12 hours felt nothing since wondering if it was just progesterone getting uterus ready I feel absolutely nothing today first day so far I'm torn between whether I want to feel something or not at least I'm not over analysing every little twinge today but now I feel like it hasn't worked can't flipping win 😂

Sunbird24 · 07/07/2021 16:13

@clolo, fab imagery, but I don’t like peanut butter so I’m going with Nutella! 😂

crazycatlady1981 · 07/07/2021 16:14

@clolo ooh you’ve made me crave peanut butter sandwiches now!! 😋

@Sjhigs yeah the twinges come and go! I had a lot on Sunday afternoon, weird little ones zipping up towards my belly button! Everything has felt so sore and achy in that area for so long now though, I can’t really tell if it’s just left over from the meds or maybe even it’s just a bit of trapped wind 💨
