Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@Juno231 how exciting! Shoot away on any questions you have ☺️ Is that for your funding etc?

Not a lot to update on, have a bit of a cracking headache which would be a side effect or the fact it’s was month end finish yesterday and was working about 13 hours!

Juno231 · 06/08/2021 07:02

@LS2020 yes it's to apply for funding. I've had the paperwork for a month now but I'm in the process of changing jobs so I'm dragging my feet as I don't want the ivf to start too soon 😅. It says that once approved I have to start treatment within 6 months so I'm glad there seems to be a bit of leeway.

I hear headaches are a common side effect so I'm sure it's the injection! Did you object yourself or did you have OH do it?

@LS2020 amazing!! So happy you’ve been able to get started. I also want to hear all about it ☺️. So excited!!!

@Juno231 brilliant that you’ve filled out the paperwork. Ahh wow, congrats on the new job. When do you start?

@gezelligheid sorry to hear AF showed.

LS2020 · 06/08/2021 21:13

@Juno231 yeah honestly there’s always something delaying it and waiting lists are bit insane so I wouldn’t worry too much on it coming around too quickly. Good luck for the new job!
Yeah it’s the most common one so think I’m stuck with 😩 had my covid jab too and feeling sorry for myself. I got OH to inject me. Honestly don’t think I’d do it to myself. Tbf I wasn’t sure I could watch and I have been so that’s the best I’ll get I think!

Thanks @mumof23188 second injection down ☺️

Hi Ladies.

Hope you are all keeping well. Thank you for sharing your updates, it's given me comfort through this TTC process.

Wondering if any of you could shed light to my query?

Is it normal for rhr to increase after 8 days of getting a peak, while being on cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet once every evening before bed?

Since getting a peak, only had one drop in rhr by 1bpm and that evening took first dose of the cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet (CD 14 3 days after getting peak) then it has always risen by 1bpm everyday except today it shot up by 4bpm. Is this normal?

Timelines so far:
CD 11 Friday 30 July 10pm = Peak on clearblue ovulation 4 days earlier (purple sticks).

CD 12 Saturday 31 July 8.30am = Peak on clearblue fertility monitor.
CD 12 Saturday 31 July 10am = Transvaginal scan all looked good.
CD 12 Saturday 31 July 12.30pm = Ovitrelle injection 250mg 0.5ml.

CD 14 Monday 2 August = 1 BPM dropped, 3 days after getting peak.
CD 14 Monday 2 August = Started taking one cyclogest pessary 400mg tablet vaginal evening before bed.

CD 19 Saturday 7 August (Today) = 4 BPM increased since yesterday. Checked Fitbit mid afternoon it was 1 BPM dropped and then 6pm went up to 4 BPM since yesterday reading.

Thank you :)

@EveryMumDay I believe it is progesterone which makes the HR increase (which is why pg women see it increase continuously whereas it falls for people with AF approaching as the stopping of progesterone triggers your lining to shed). 6 days post O is usually the earliest for implantation but before then isn’t fully impossible and 4bpm is a huge increase. It’s definitely all sounds good but you might need a few more days of patience to see if worth testing ☺️

LS2020 · 08/08/2021 09:35

@EveryMumDay also as a side note how do you find those pessaries? I’m going to be having two of the 400s every day from next week and feel like I’m going to be stuffed like a bubble gum machine!

EveryMumDay · 08/08/2021 15:56

@LS2020 thank you for the insight. I was amazed to see the big jump as it's very unexpected and confused me.

Definitely, not getting excited about it, as being on cycle 11 after MMC I've just given up on poas. I'll only test as per my private consultant advice on CD 28 Monday 16 and CD 30 Wednesday 18 August, if periods do not show up. I'm tired poas and seeing bfn :'(

The pessaries tablets are not too bad. I take only one in the evening, so I put on a panty liner on, as the tablet does seep through. It's wax feeling and as soon as it goes in it begins to melt due to body heat. So it's advisable to lie down 30 mins after inserting but taking before bed it's easier. You can use your fingers to insert it or you can buy an applicator like you get for canesten applicator. Whatever makes your comfortable, use that approach.

If you need to take it both times, try to keep 12 hrs gap (do ask for advice from doctor), morning dose you can put in vagina and a panty liner on then lie down 30mins OR if comfortable put in anal (bum) and no panty liner required. Evening you can put the dose in vagina with panty liner on then go straight to bed, if you out the first dose via bum. I myself haven't got the confidence to put it in bum, so I put on the panty liner.

If you plan to have sex, then advised to have it before you insert the tablet and wash yourself after sex then put in the tablet. Tablet should be the last thing inserted into vagina, nothing after.

I wish you all the best for next week. It's one step closer to supporting through TTC, that gives some sort of peace in mind.

Look forward to seeing everyone's update and thank you all for sharing 😊

@EveryMumDay I’m exactly the same. Gave up poas a longgg time ago 😂 how’s the RHR?

I think mine are both at night so seems easy enough. Hmm might get one of those applicators though as would make a lot easier! I’ve seen you can do the bum but wasn’t sure if the waxy left over bits would be a worse feeling or that you’d poop out!

EveryMumDay · 10/08/2021 09:52

@LS2020 yes, I find poas a chore no longer excites me 🤭

My rhr has stated the same for 3 days. So, the 4bpm increased on Saturday and it's stated the same Sunday and yesterday. Today (CD 22 and 11 days after getting a peak), waiting for the reading to populate, as I've been moving around a lot.

Oh very lucky if you got to take both at night. It's much easier. Definitely, get the applicator, as I've ordered it so should be coming through the post soon. Plus, using the applicator is hygienic and avoid any infections.

There may be some tiny bits left over in the morning when you go pee but majority of it will get absorbed during the night. It just needs to filter into your blood stream.

If you're taking 2 at night, are each dose 200mg or 400mg? If 200mg, then it might be easier to get the 400mg tablet so you only insert once at night rather than inserting 2 tablets together at night.

EveryMumDay · 10/08/2021 09:55

It shouldn't say 'stated' but it should read 'stay'. Silly autocorrect.

I meant to say - Using the applicator reduces the risk of infection, not that you can't get an infection if using the applicator.

LS2020 · 11/08/2021 09:04

@EveryMumDay 11 days is still quite early but a good sign that it’s high :)

Thanks! Where did you order from?
2 x 400mg so a very big dose!

mumof23188 · 11/08/2021 09:47

@LS2020 how are you getting on lovely? How are you feeling? Is your scan tomorrow? ☺️

EveryMumDay · 11/08/2021 12:42

@LS2020 how are you finding the tablets? If you find taking 2 of them together is a chore you can ask your consultant to give you 400mg. I take one 400mg dose in the evening, much easier than 2 separate 200mg.

I ordered the applicators from my local pharmacy and picked it up yesterday. Very easy to use and much better than using fingers. They do sell some on eBay too. However, check if your local pharmacy sells them and if not then order of eBay.

Wish you all the luck for this week. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

EveryMumDay · 11/08/2021 13:45

@LS2020 I'm so sorry.....I've misread what you wrote, you said 2x 400mg dose. Indeed very big dose. Hope you feeling ok with it.

LS2020 · 15/08/2021 15:23

@mumof23188 had a scan Friday and Saturday - all really happy with how I’ve progressed so had my final injection last night and in for the egg retrieval tomorrow!

@EveryMumDay i’ll see what I can find on the internet as I’m now in quarantine post covid test and hospital likes us to isolate. It’s the fact they’re two at night and if they fit in?! Start then tomorrow so will see!

mumof23188 · 15/08/2021 19:34

@LS2020 ahh wow that’s amazing. What a lovely update. Hope you are feeling well. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow lovely ☺️.

Juno231 · 15/08/2021 20:59

@LS2020 amazing news - how many eggies are they estimating you'll be harvesting?

OP posts:
LS2020 · 16/08/2021 11:57

@mumof23188 @Juno231 home now and resting! They collected 8 and 7 were viable and ready to be used. Seems lower end looking at google but a woman opposite got 20 and she’s has to abandon her cycle for OHSS so could be worse! Tbf they say it’s quality not quantity. OH’s sperm parameters were fine so just waiting til tomorrow to find out how many fertilised xx

Juno231 · 16/08/2021 12:03

@ls2020 7 sounds perfectly average I think! Whenever I hear of the ones with 20 eggs you then often hear that by day 5 they're down to only 4-5 cause quality was poor due to over-stimulation. FWIW a lady on another thread I'm on had 5 fertilised and all 5 made it to day 5! Will you get another update tomorrow on fertilisation rate?

OP posts:
LS2020 · 16/08/2021 12:21

@Juno231 yeah that’s it, it’s about ones being mature so actually you can have 20 but if none are good quality then you drop down to 10 anyway for example.
I’d deffo rather have 3 really good ones than 5-6 middle ones.
Yeah tomorrow so now my fear is none fertilise so will just have to see!

mumof23188 · 17/08/2021 00:18

@LS2020 I’m so pleased to hear it went well and you got some lovely Eggs 🥰. Hope the procedure went ok and wasn’t painful. Definitely agree, quality over quantity anyday! Great news about OHs sperm. Crossing everything for you 🤞🤞

LS2020 · 17/08/2021 08:15

Thanks @mumof23188. I slept through the whole thing, which is a massive blessing 😂 had some bleeding but apart from some more first thing this am, mostly seems okay now.

This wait for the embryologist so call is sickening, I’m so nervous!
