Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 6

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Interestingly, that first big jump was only 4DPO, and then it went up an extra 1bpm at 8DPO. I first thought the jump was too soon to mean anything! With my first 2 pregnancies (CP) it didn't go up any higher than usual until about 11DPO, and it wasn't this high.

(The line marked at 63 is ovulation)

Oh @GlassLily CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU! 🥳

Yes, try and stay positive as stress will not help and also with your high RHR that is a good sign! I am so happy for you, what lovely news ☺️
Do you have any symptoms yet? X

GlassLily · 25/05/2021 22:44

@NJOBX Thank you so much! I'm so incredibly bloated that I'm sure everyone at work must be wondering if I'm 6 months pregnant. Otherwise I'm just really tired, been yawning non stop all day and I've been going to bed at 8pm the last couple of nights! Hopefully that's because my body is so busy making this a sticky one 🤞🏻

This next week is going to be really nerve wracking, all my previous pregnancies I've started bleeding at about 4.5 weeks.

GlassLily · 25/05/2021 22:48

Oh and I'm so open to whatever pregnancy symptoms my body wants to throw at me, I thought this might never happen so I'm going to try and enjoy every minute of it.... Although I may eat my words if and when the sickness begins!

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 08:18

@GlassLily
Bloating was one of my first symptoms as well! Not pleasant is it 😂

I really hope this is a sticky one for you, it’s sounding good so far! 🤞🏼

I said the same thing but now I’m fed up of being sick and headachey! It’s constant nausea and every smell going makes me want to hurl 😷 I am hoping it won’t be like this for the whole pregnancy 🙈

Bundaberg84 · 26/05/2021 08:39

Congratulations @GlassLily!

I have a question for all you rhr experts. I have a fitbit since forever, and I never paid too much attention to it while TTC. I saw a rise during what could have been implantation but now it's going back down. So I wondered what it looked like in the last cycles, and wow, there is simply no pattern to it. The only thing I might see is that the temp went down the day after AF arrived. And in the month I was pregnant (resulted in a chemical unfortunately) there was also nothing particular to see, other than rhr went down one or two days after I started bleeding.
So my question is (probably): is it normal that I cannot really read anything out of the rhr? Is it maybe my watch? I know that they say you can't use it as "medical information" but I feel like it should work out somehow?

Juno231 · 26/05/2021 09:34

@Bundaberg84 random q but are you fit? How low is your RHR? I've found that people with good heart health seem to have little to no fluctuations in their RHR so maybe that explains yours?

@GlassLily omg congratulations!!! Is your pic upside down btw? Cause a dye stealer at 11dpo would be unreal! How many DPO are you now? I really hope this is a sticky bean for you and thank you for the RHR. Interesting to see what a crazy rise you had.

@NJOBX had my jab yday! RHR has gone up two ticks from 68 to 70 so nothing drastic so far - although my temp went up by 0.1 this morning as well. It's crazy, I know it's all vaccine related by I am so so hopeful that it isn't...

@Juno231 very true! I’m lucky that I’ve managed to book my second jab in before my due date too. How was your jab? What one did you have? I’m so hopeful for you. When will you test? 🤞🤞

@GlassLily massive congratulations 🎉

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 09:56

@Juno231
Are you feeling any different from after your vaccine?
Good news that your RHR and temp have gone up! I have my fingers crossed for you, I hope it’s good news for you this month 🤞🏼
Are you going to wait until AF is due or test before? X

GlassLily · 26/05/2021 10:07

@NJOBX @Bundaberg84 @Juno231 @mumof23188
Thanks everyone! Yes @Juno231 it's upside down hehe, not a dye stealer. I'm in a different time zone so still 11DPO. The time is dragging, I really want to get through this next week!

@NJOBX I'm already nervous that I don't feel as tired or bloated today.

Juno, it is not crazy to wonder....1 week ago I was wondering if my rise was just because I was unwell. It could be just the vaccine but equally it could be BFP 🤷🏼‍♀️ you never know!

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 10:10

@GlassLily It’s so hard not to be nervous but just remember sometimes the symptoms kick in later on! I barely had any symptoms until week 7 and that’s when it all started 😷😂

Alicespring · 26/05/2021 10:10

See for those of you that are struggling with sickness.....ice cold original lucozade or mainly ice cold can of irn bru were my saviours. I had HG up until about 16 weeks and its brutal.
I still watch this thread and ita so lovely to see how many BFP people have got. Hope it happens for the rest of you ladies as you were a huge support to me when i was TTC!
My RHR has increased by 20bpm 🤯 over the course of this pregnancy, it's madness!

Juno231 · 26/05/2021 10:33

@Alicespring holy smokes, 20bpm! Thank you for starting the thread, I still think about you and hope you're well. It made me sad how long you were gone for during the middle part after your MC.

@NJOBX @mumof23188 super sore arm and a bit tired/achey but overall I feel like I got off lightly! I had Moderna which tbh I forgot existed as an option, I just assumed I'd get pfizer.

@GlassLily I'm super happy for you. Think you will test every now and then for progression or leave it?

Bundaberg84 · 26/05/2021 10:40

@Juno231 I'm quite fit but not as much as I used to be - as the gyms are closed, I'm not really into working out at home. I have a dog and walk daily though.

GlassLily · 26/05/2021 10:44

@Juno231 thank you 🙂 I'm so amazed! I have so much hope that your BFP will come to you soon 💖 All the baby dust to you✨
I got a multipack of FRER and I just know I'm going to test every day! I can't help it. this first week is just too stressful! I've looked at the test so many times already just to check I didn't imagine it. I tested at 10DPO and got the faintest line and thought it was definitely positive.... Then later started to think I was going mad... but my 11DPO was so much darker, indisputable! 😃

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 10:44

@Alicespring
Thanks for the tips on the sickness! I have found that a glass of coke here and there has helped a bit, it must be the fizz in the drinks!
I’m hoping it doesn’t last until 16 weeks, I’m sick of it already haha. I am a bit concerned about my RHR as it has dropped down to nearly as low as AF level and I am now on week 8... has yours just carried on rising throughout?
How far along are you now? ☺️

@Juno231
I have heard a lot of people say they have a dead arm that lasts for a day so hopefully you will feel much better tomorrow! 🤞🏼 And if you’re feeling better tomorrow and your RHR keeps rising then who knows!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

GlassLily · 26/05/2021 10:46

Yes @Alicespring thanks so much for starting this thread! Hope you're doing well!

Juno231 · 26/05/2021 10:58

@NJOBX week 8 is when the placenta forms so blood flow is diverted and RHR tends to drop. You'll be fine! :)

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 11:01

@Juno231
Honestly, thank goodness for this thread, what would I do without you all keeping me sane! Hahaha.
Thank you, I have been worrying each day when it goes down a lot x

Alicespring · 26/05/2021 11:02

@Juno231 @GlassLily aw thanks you guys 😊😊

@NJOBX mine dropped around 7 weeks if I remember rightly and plateaued for a few weeks. Same with when I was in the second trimester it didn't always increase and again I'm 32 weeks now and still it's all over the place but it's higher than AF levels. I've attached my charts but there is some data missing due to getting a new fitbit and I lost some of the stuff off my old one, but you can see how all over the place it is and not linear at all so I wouldn't worry!
(The one from December you can see the drop right at the beginning of the screen shot)

NJOBX · 26/05/2021 11:08

@Alicespring
Ah yes, I can see how it drops at the beginning of December and then rises again and then in Feb it is pretty much all up and down isn’t it. I suppose there seems to be more of a pattern with our cycles during AF, ovulation and after conception rather than throughout pregnancy!

It’s always good to see other people’s charts to compare so thank you for sharing ☺️

EveryMumDay · 26/05/2021 13:07

Many congratulations @Alicespring and @GlassLily.

Great see BFP's news and rhr charts :)

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/05/2021 16:46

@GlassLily congratulations I'm so loving seeing all the bfp on here!

My oh and I joined the gym yesterday so hopefully be getting a little fitter and may see a pattern in the rhr at some point - for now it's just all over the place!

LS2020 · 26/05/2021 20:46

@GlassLily congratulations lovely! Hope it’s a nice sticky bean for you 🤞🏻

@mumof23188 how you doing love? How many weeks are you?

@Juno231 so interesting on the jab! I’m waiting for age limit to be lowered still so hoping will get done soon. Got a letter from hospital that my follow up appointment is on the 7th so very excited! I kinda hope they refer me straight on to IVF rather than any hormones as they’ve said no sides with my blood work. Let me know how yours goes!

justwant2beamum · 26/05/2021 21:38

Hello thanks for tag, I've just started a new job so I've not been on mn as much!
Also annoyed with my rhr for tricking me this month 😩 ah well cd6 again here...
