@polejunkie @Juno231 @thislittlebird @Marvellouslymadmum @CycleGirl20

Thanks for welcoming me ladies. It helps having someone to talk to 😁.

To answer some of your questions:

I have a 29 day cycle (give or take 2 days but nothing more than that)

Metformin - at the start it gave me the runs 😂 but now I have no symptoms. I take 1000mg.

CD 21 bloods. Initially before I lost weight my prog level was 9 and now its 22. I was told by the gynae that he didn’t think I ovulated but I was pregnant that very cycle so I did ovulate but I did not sustain that pregnancy.

My LP is 9-10 days. How strong are the B vitamins you take to lengthen your LP?

Elakiya · 20/06/2021 15:05

@CycleGirl20 I have a bmi of 29 and also need to lose weight, lets do this together 😁

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 15:30

@Elakiya that sounds like a rough time. How are you doing at the moment?

Yes good idea! I only have 2 months to lose a few kgs. It can be quite hard for me to drop the kgs so I might have to try something like low carb combined with the fast800. It sucks a bit as it's quite low calories and I wouldn't choose to do it right now if not for my appointment! I've been doing quite well maintaining and feeling healthy on a fish, veg and lower amounts of complex carbs. I find it all a bit silly if I'm honest but I'm a bit in the "needs must" territory and don't feel I have many options 😅

Elakiya · 20/06/2021 15:46

@CycleGirl20 i am okay, just becoming a bit more desperate and mentally beginning to struggle as every single person around me falls pregnant regardless of size and I keep getting told to lose weight.

I want something quick as well so fast 800 sounds ideal. Is the book any good. I need meal ideas. I started 18:6 which I seem to be able to stick to. I am running 45 mins a day just need to sort meals out now?

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 15:55

@CycleGirl20 it's very frustrating, lucking I have more normalish cycles than very long ones but at least I do ovulate eventually, not that it makes any difference as I still end up with af each month but there we go! Hopefully the gynaecologist will have some insight rather than just being told - it's age related like the doc said but my cycles have always been this way 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Elakiya I take a high strength b complex called busy b from Holland and Barrett and 50mg b6 but that doesn't change anything to do with my cycle, nothing seems to it's still all over the place

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 16:16

@Elakiya I cycle a lot so I found the fast800 a bit low last time and ended up going to 1000-1200 after a few weeks. I've not tried the book. I just googled it 😅. I think I'll start with 800-1000 and if I'm struggling with my exercise, go up. It's only until my appointment and then I'll go back to my current diet to maintain as it's not intended as a long term diet. Just a few weeks. It is really annoying isn't it with weight. It's probably not impacting fertility so much if other markers are good (my insulin is good and my waist measurement is in the normal category) My other half thinks I'm imagining how big a deal doctors make of it.

@Marvellouslymadmum hopefully the gynecologist can get to the bottom of it. What are your next steps?

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 16:23

@CycleGirl20 I don't think there are any steps left 😂 I've tried pretty much everything there is to try as far as I know lol all I can do is wait for my gynae appointment and hope they'll send me for a lap to investigate for endo and maybe offer me something like clomid or letrazole for my dodgy cycles and Lp

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 16:29

Sorry @Marvellouslymadmum I meant in terms of your appointments rather than what you are able to do yourself. It is frustrating that we're always waiting for something it seems!

Elakiya · 20/06/2021 16:35

@CycleGirl20 my bmi was mentioned and I was told to go away and lose weight and am still being told that at a bmi of 29. But then I have a close friend that’s a dress size 12 but technically “obese” by BMI so if your one of those lucky people then they won’t really say anything.

I am going to go and google 800 cal meal plans and look for something to start tomorrow

Elakiya · 20/06/2021 16:37

@Marvellouslymadmum I will probably not try it then I am already taken inositol, folic acid, iron, vitamin D and Metformin 😅

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 16:47

@Elakiya I'm a size 12-14. Would they really not say anything? I'm expecting them to!

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 16:48

That's ridiculous that they won't treat you if your BMI is within range!

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/06/2021 16:59

@CycleGirl20 oh I see! Well I was originally referred for infertility investigations but I've also now got suspected endo and already been told it looks like I've got adeno aswell so hoping for a laparoscopy to diagnose the endo and excise what they can. I have teenaged so I know I was once fertile just don't seem to be anymore!!

On the bmi front I'm a size 12-14 aswell and my bmi is stupid as I'm only 5' tall but I don't look big just curvy so I've not been told to lose wait yet, but I'm already on the train anyway being a veggie and now trying the Mediterranean diet with a veggie twist (more an eating choice than a diet I think) and gym and cycling. No weight seems to be shifting!

thislittlebird · 20/06/2021 17:12

@elakiya that’s interesting that your progesterone increased when you lost weight. My Bmi was 28 and now it’s down to 26 after a few weeks of calorie counting and avoiding too many carbs/large portions etc (aiming for about 1200 per day but not super strict as long as I’m exercising most days), walking and some attempts at the 30 day shred lol. I need to lose more yet, but I wonder if my progesterone would improve once I’m down a bit in weight. I do think my body is very sensitive to or not good at processing fat, I get high cholesterol too. I’m short so there’s not a great deal between normal bmi and obese for me 🙃.

I was on 100mg of b6 and it lengthened my cycle by a couple of days last month. Probably won’t take so much this month, maybe 50mg after suspected ovulation. B6 is one to read up on, can cause some problems in high doses.

We’re on day 4 of dtd, only another 3 or 4 days to go before I will assume ovulation is covered Confused

thislittlebird · 20/06/2021 17:15

I’m sort go the doing the Mediterranean too @Marvellouslymadmum, but my own spin on it and not constantly, just trying my best.

thislittlebird · 20/06/2021 17:17

@Marvellouslymadmum also, I’m about a 12 now but but it doesn’t suit me, I’m not curvy, it just all gathers in the middle on my legs/belly/back 🥴

Haven’t done my exercise today but will tomorrow, we’re clearing out the spare room and clothes etc so I’ve been busy. Trying to shift a few pounds for IVF but also the holiday to Cornwall in about 4 weeks. Can’t be seeing family for the first time since the wedding with my lockdown weight lol

Sjhigs · 20/06/2021 17:24

@polejunkie @crazycatlady1981 how's your stims going I don't k ow if I'm imagining like a tickle sensation really weird feeling maybe all in my head 🤦‍♀️

polejunkie · 20/06/2021 17:27

@Sjhigs I feel like I do in the run up to ovulation, not pain, but there’s definitely something going on in my ovaries, I don’t really have an appetite either which is really not like me!
Where are you feeling this sensation? It’s mental isn’t it, this whole thing 🤣 I basically feel like I wait around all day for my stim lol

CycleGirl20 · 20/06/2021 17:31

@thislittlebird 1200 might be more sensible than 800 if you're exercising. Now I'm wondering if I out to start a bit higher! I lost some weight at the beginning of the year but have been maintaining since just eating healthier. I'm quite tall -174cm/5ft8/9 and a 12-14. I have a bust and bum and that's where my weight is. Maybe the clinic will let me off on the BMI front 😬.

Sjhigs · 20/06/2021 17:33

@polejunkie I don't actually know 😂 like all across my tummy and I can't even explain what it is like going downhill on a roller-coaster tickling like a mild one of them 🙈
Awk it's probably all in my head 😂😂 I start another in the morning now so that's 3 a day 🤦‍♀️ how's the nerves now have you calmed a bit x

polejunkie · 20/06/2021 17:37

@Sjhigs I bet it’s not, these stims can work very quickly so maybe you’ve go some eggies in there growing away, here’s hoping 🥂
I feel ok as last nights were better not sure what the issue was on fri but 2 out of 3 lots of stims went fine so 🤷🏼‍♀️ let’s see what tonight’s bring! Also a scan on weds seems really soon so it definitely feels like things have sped up now. I must say I feel a bit fragile emotionally, like I could cry at the drop of a hat lol x

Juno231 · 20/06/2021 17:39

Ladies we're only three posts away from a locked thread @becarefuloutthere will you be setting up the next one also?

thislittlebird · 20/06/2021 17:42

They probably won’t mind tbh @CycleGirl20, but if you do decide to lose some, at your height a few more calories would be better, especially if you’re active and cycling.

Elakiya · 20/06/2021 17:45

@CycleGirl20 they will definitely not ask you to lose weight. They understand that BMI is not that reliable but for people that are plus size it helps as a rough guide to go by. I was a size 20-22 and am now a 16-18 so for me its fair for them to say lose weight because there is still a bit to go. If I was a size 12-14 I would not worry at all.
