@Sjhigs haha, gosh fast forward a week, I feel ok but Thursday night it always back 2 back fitness classes for me so I feel physically fit as a fiddle on Fridays, until the aches kick in haha - deffo no bloat here!

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker oh sounds like an awful night - I had a tight chest all day yesterday but I think it was general anxiety waiting to inject, feel better today knowing it was easy enough - I hope the nurse offers you some reassurance - I certainly won't be reading any of those articles haha!

Thanks @becarefuloutthere anything is worth a try now!

Whilst stimming you need lots of protein to build those eggies so try to get extra in. I made protein pancakes and ate lots of chicken and eggs.
Leading up to transfer pom juice and Brazil nuts help thicken the lining. Get some gentle exercise in to get the blood flowing.
After transfer it's fries (myth is salt helps electrolytes to help OHSS) and pineapple like @becarefuloutthere says this contains bromelain which is meant to help implantation -the core contains the highest concentration. Continue Pom juice and Brazil nuts.
Always make sure you are drinking loads to keep hydrated the whole time as this helps protest against OHSS and also helps thicken the lining.
I'm sure there are lots more little things but those are the main ones you hear about!

Narwhal88 · 18/06/2021 09:45

@Crazydoglady123 yeah I've had some side effects of the estrogen. It made me feel sick for the first like 5 days. Been feeling really tired and had a few headaches. Nothing too bad though thankfully though there is still time 😂

polejunkie · 18/06/2021 09:47

@clolo - mine is weds and then another scheduled for Fri - my nurse did say that weds is very early and it's just to check activity (my stims are apparently quite a high dose) she said the Friday is the more meaningful scan so don't worry about not having a scan until Thurs, sounds ok from what I know (which is really not huge amounts I must admit!)

Thanks @Narwhal88 lots to be getting on with then - luckily for me OHSS shouldn't be an issue!

crazycatlady1981 · 18/06/2021 10:00

@polejunkie @clolo @CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker @Sjhigs well done ladies for first stims injection! 😊
I’ve just done my 3rd one and still feeling completely normal! I’ll be worrying that it’s not working soon because I haven’t had any side effects 😂🙄

I discovered Skyr a little while ago which is super high in protein and the Arla strawberry or vanilla ones are yummy! I have about 6 large pots in the fridge currently!! 😂

Apparently hot water bottle is helpful for growing the follicles and keep your feet warm too! No hot water bottles after transfer though!

@Motherofkittens28 how are you doing lovely? Are you still able to go ahead with your wedding plans? 🤞🏻

Annny27 · 18/06/2021 10:11

So jealous of you all starting ivf haha! We are on 25 months now but because of our miscarriage we have to wait till november for referral for nhs ivf 😭

@Crazydoglady123 my GP has been less than sympathetic. When midwife checked my urine at 8 weeks I was borderline hyperemesis and told to drink more. I've rang the doctor up 3 times about it but they literally just say that's standard pregnancy.
Have you had many symptoms?

MIW01 · 18/06/2021 11:56

Well done @polejunkie hope symptoms settle soon

Sjhigs · 18/06/2021 12:47

@clolo I'm scheduled for Wed and Friday as well xx

CycleGirl20 · 18/06/2021 13:05

Wow is sounds like a lot of us are stimming. Sorry to hear some of you have been feeling a bit pucky and worse for wear from the injections.

I just had my scan, following my course of letrozole. The clinician thought I was going to ovulate in 3 or 4 days, which is still late on day 17 😒. I've been taking high dose b complex as last time that lengthened my cycle. She also said I have polycystic like ovaries as I have 19 follicles on the left and 16 on the right. Apparently over 15 suggests PCOS. One is dominant on the right. My bloods don't show PCOS and I do get a distinct LH spike only once & regular periods. I am a bit over weight in spite of eating quite healthily. I'm worrying a bit now about what it means and if I do have PCOS 😬😭

I don’t know if it helps but my consultant told me 20 on each side is indicative of PCOS 🤷‍♀️

Seems to me like there’s a lot of variation between opinions on these things. I had over 15 one side at my last scan and under 15 on the other so....no idea lol. This time I had 13 and 10 at the Hycosy on Tuesday.

We’re very similar, I’m ovulating in the next 3 or 4 days probably (based on the signs so far) and I’m also ovulating on the right this month according the doctor 🤨. Honestly if you’re bloods are ok I wouldn’t fret about it, there’s lots of people with lots of follicles, including a few on this thread.

@Annny27 I’m very jealous too, but wishing everyone starting lots of luck! I’m reading my ivf pack today because we had to go private. I guess the benefit is less waiting.

Annny27 · 18/06/2021 17:11

@cyclegirl20 my friend has pcos and conceived within 2 months no fertility treatment so I wouldnt fret, it doesnt always mean issues :) I am also borderline pcos!

@thislittlebird when will yours start if you decide to go ahead?

CycleGirl20 · 18/06/2021 17:16

@thislittlebird you're starting privately? Oh exciting! Doctors seem to tell me different things each time and as my DH keeps pointing out, none of it has got us pregnant so far! Thanks @Annny27 that makes me feel better.

thislittlebird · 18/06/2021 17:18

@Annny27 not sure exactly, I wish I knew. We’re waiting for my husband’s results from Mr Ramsay, hoping to have them in early July. I think the COMET test gets sent off to Belfast or something so can take a while, something like that.

I would like to start in August but I guess it depends on his results. They also wanted us to try a cycle of Letrozole if his results were good but I’m not sure I want to at this stage. I don’t really expect an improvement in his results if I’m honest so maybe they’ll say straight to short protocol. Wonder if they’ll want to give him more time for improvement.

thislittlebird · 18/06/2021 17:21

@CycleGirl20 we are, but not just yet, need to see what they say, but I'm keen to get going. These eggs aren't getting any younger! Need to have two more consultations (one with Lister, one with urologist) in July and formulate a plan.

CycleGirl20 · 18/06/2021 17:32

@thislittlebird could you do the letrozole whilst you wait for the results and next steps?

thislittlebird · 18/06/2021 17:49

@CycleGirl20 they said there may not be any point in doing the Letrozole because his sperm might not be getting there if the results are poor, we won’t do a plan until we get the results. And then we’re away in July so we can’t do it then either because I’ll need to be monitored and we’re away exactly at the wrong time. So August is the earliest anything can happen.

Plus none of this is free because the NHS has let us down so much, a cycle of Letrozole + trigger shot + progesterone + scans won’t be cheap. I should have been offered Letrozole or Clomid by the nhs in May but they were terrible. How did you get hold of it, I thought you were considering it the other day and now you’re taking it?

CycleGirl20 · 18/06/2021 18:01

@thislittlebird that sucks. It's really unfair that you're not offered IVF on the NHS sooner but then to be let down on other fronts too sucks. I actually work abroad as well as in the UK in normal times. I got the letrozole from my fertility doctor there quite easily. He just wrote it up and 6 months cost me about €20. Then my work demanded I come back here before I could start it! Now I've managed to find a private GP here who agreed to monitor me and I just pay for the scan. It's costing £120 a month but that's ok for a couple of months

thislittlebird · 18/06/2021 23:34

@CycleGirl20 I have to mostly try not to think about how little they’ve done for me, because I just get angry that we’re not unexplained and we’re getting on a bit and they sent us packing, and we don’t have endless cash to throw at it. Trying to just focus on the fact that we can start a private cycle without much delay etc but it’s hard not to be annoyed we haven’t been offered almost anything other people are offered. Even if they said no ivf but you can have x y z, that would be something. Literally all they gave me was a day 3 test. 🙃

Crazy how easy it is to get prescribed abroad by the sounds of it. I think it would be quite pricey for one cycle of OI for me, it’s frustrating and I sort of want to spend our money on the ivf.

CycleGirl20 · 19/06/2021 00:27

That is annoying and unfair. My European doctor was happy to sign a lot off and in fact was really quick to prescribe me medication. He wanted me to try Metformin just in case I had PCOS. I'm not sure how well letrozole will work for me though as I have regular periods and confirmed ovulation already. It may well be a waste of time for people like us. I'm only trying it as it's only cycle 2 since my surgery and DH and I said 3-6 cycles before IVF

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/06/2021 10:06

Sorry I disappeared, internet went out for a couple of days and no Mobile reception here, people in this house were not amused! Hope everyone's doing ok?

thislittlebird · 19/06/2021 10:13

@CycleGirl20 I have regular periods but not optimal ovulation apparently, very low progesterone. I don’t really get it but I guess it’s weak ovulation or something? Or they aren’t certain I’m ovulating? So I definitely would have wanted to try it because my ovulation isn’t quite right, and it has been mentioned it to me as an option, but sadly not by the nhs gynaecologist. I’ve waited so long to be seen and (not) helped that I feel like I’ve moved to a point where I want to get on with ivf now because I’m not getting younger.

Hi @Marvellouslymadmum, how’s things?
