@Crazydoglady123 my clinic don't do any hormone tests during the ivf cycle, I've concluded they are a bit crap! This time I'm on 225 ovaleap and 75 menopur. Last time was 375 ovaleap I think, so quite a reduction!

Hello ladies, looking for advice.
TTC for 15mths & starting to panic due to age (42). My referral appt isn’t until 29th July despite starting process (21 blood test & SA sample) in Jan/Feb, so naturally concerned by wait times. Any ideas on NHS IVF criteria & recommendations for fertility clinics in/around London? As I want to investigate options & costs.
Any tips gratefully received as currently taking Proceive pills & 300mg ubiquinol- thanks in advance

@Ladybug06 not to frighten you but I would skip the NHS at your age and get to a private clinic as soon as. Evewell are really well rated but I've also heard great things about Create x

@Motherofkittens28 I'm a bit like you, I've been pretty open about my struggles with my friends and a few people at work. Haven't said a peep to my family though as I know they'd be rubbish at handling it!

@Marvellouslymadmum that's good to know. It's just stuff I've heard about it's effects on sperm but I suppose ppl don't really know if it was directly the vaccine that affected it or not. He's booked it for this Sunday anyway so he's going ahead with it.
@sausageface welcome 🤗 sorry you've had such a rough ride! Good to see you've settled in nicely amongst us infertile donkeys for all manner of reasons! I'm 35 ttc no 1 so don't worry about your age too much if you can. It's once you hit 35 that you read all the gumpf about fertility declining etc.
@crazycatlady1981 it'll be two weeks apart so hopefully he'll be fine. Your poor Dh 🥴
@Motherofkittens28 have you been just as tired today too? when's your next dress fitting?
@RobinRose no words of wisdom for you but just wanted to show empathy. Due on tomorrow and can feel it coming so it'll prob come just before bed or through the night. Horrible pains, I thought they'd stop after the lap but still there 😩 I think we'll always be surrounded by the fertile unicorns unfortunately! I've told my friends, just be selective with who you tell. Most know about ttc and ivf but only a handful know that ivf has started. I find ppl gossip, which is why I say be careful with who you tell if you don't want it spread. Could you tell each friend separately instead of altogether? That could ease you overthinking it perhaps.
@Annny27 it's probably nothing to be concerned with tbh, everyone has a story or two to tell about something don't they! How's your day been?

@Ladybug06 welcome 🤗 I'm SE London and it was 3 month wait for an appointment with the fertility clinic after being referred. Then it was a few weeks for funding to be approved and then about a month to wait to start. But things could be different now as the referral was made in lockdown 3 I think.

Hey @Juno231. Nothing much, I'm supposed to be calling the GP tomorrow and I'm dreading it.

I'm going to start pushing ahead with private either way, I can't wait any longer. We're seeing Mr Ramsay in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to emai the Lister for an IVF consultation appointment.

I've felt more positive the last couple of days, started reading it starts with the egg and chatted to a colleague who had egg donation today and it made me feel more optimistic again. I just swing from one extreme to the other at the mo, convinced I shouldn't try, it won't work and then hopeful and wanting to get it going. A rollercoaster!

@Motherofkittens28 I suppose it's lower as you're ovaries aren't switched off with down regs.

@notyetamumbuttrying I failed miserably and tested 🤦🏽‍♀️ I actually blame my OH as he was bugging me to this morning and I was the one saying it's too early to do it but he wouldn't let go so I did and I actually got my first positive test! I'm 5dp5dt now so don't know if it's true or trigger shot still in my system 🙈😭 @paintfairy what day did you test after your IUI?

@Crazydoglady123 ooh wow! 😊 I guess it could be either! Maybe keep testing each day or every other day and see if it’s gets darker or lighter? What trigger shot did you have?

@crazycatlady1981 I've been looking up and it seems it could be a true result but I'll carry on everyday now to know for sure

@sausageface welcome ❤️ what a tough journey you've been on, I hope the next 6 months goes quickly for you with no complications and hopefully you get that lil baby❤️
So, I got my results yesterday, and we have male factor infertility, my OH had 0 sperm in his second sample, like 0 they couldn't even analyse it.
My ovarian reserve came back very high at 95, he said that can be due to pcos but rather it high than low
thyroid, prolactin and testesterone was all in normal ranges.
I'm quite shocked, I really thought it was me, I've spent years trying to take my sups, eat well, train and loose weight, no harm anyway as I think I definitely helped myself.

@Crazydoglady123 had a little look on my ivf group I’m on and people are generally saying ovitrelle usually takes 10 days but can be up to 14 days to come out of system so could be either (but keeping everything crossed that it’s your Bfp 🤞🏻🤞🏻)

@Crazydoglady123 that's exciting! I think my trigger went out of my system about day 5 if I recall, at least that's when all my symptoms stopped, sore boobs etc and that's when I was sure it hadn't worked (I was also spotting by that point). You've done it now so no harm to keep testing daily and see if it stays positive! The clinic won't accept anything until official test day though.

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm still really tired, just seem to be having a low week in general. Dress fitting 1 is 13th June but that's just for the length, then body fitting is about 2 weeks later. It's all I can do not to order a pizza and eat all the cakes right now but I'll regret it so much if I'm unhappy with how my dress looks.

@Aimzie so sorry to hear his second result was the same. Are they looking at trying surgical sperm removal? Hopefully things will move quickly to ivf for you given the result.

@Aimzie oh I’m so sorry hun! Hope you are ok. Have they said what the next step is? Can they do more tests for OH and see if there’s a blockage?

@crazycatlady1981 it's 12 days today since the trigger. The only way I'm going to know is like @Motherofkittens28 says to keep testing 😬

I know I can't believe it, yeah they want to do male hormone profile and I think it was genetic testing on him too and tsh I think. Costing about 700.
So we aren't going back, i moved down south to live with my OH and so we went to a clinic in Dublin just for testing, but we just got our mortgage approved and are moving back north this year. I'm still registered with my doctor and now with my pcos and Daniels results well get 3 rounds with NHS so now we're applying through my doc and have to wait again, in the mean time Daniel has ordered hcg to try and I'm literally not stressing about it now because it's not in my control now. I think it will have to be a biopsy and ivf or iui so no point me worrying now 😭

@Aimzie I'm so sorry to hear! Hope your OH is okay. Have they discussed next steps at all?

@Motherofkittens28 your friends sound lovely! Your other friends may not want to ask too many questions with the fear of upsetting you or saying/asking the wrong thing? Interesting about the men asking questions!

@Motherofkittens28 yeah you will. I still look at my photos and get mad that I didn't speak up when I knew the dress didn't fit around my chest/arms properly. It was a friends mum so I didn't want to come across fussy. I'm an idiot!
@RobinRose when are you gonna test? Are you late yet? Ah yeah, you're right actually.

Yeah they said they want to do more tests on him. But now I think we both agreed to wait for our referral for NHS comes through and we choose our clinic in Belfast, I think they are just going to do all the testing there again. But because we have decided to move up home now we have to start the process over again, I'm hoping we can just take our results from the clinic to our new one and cut out the initial tests 🙄 I'm like mixed, I'm really happy that mine was okay because I think there is alot they can do, and Ivf and a biopsy will work for us. But so sad for him, I think it's very hard on the men to find out it's their fault :/ he had a surgery as a baby, he had a blocked urethra and had to be circumcised as a baby, as he couldn't pee I think that could have done something or a blockage but we'll find out more soon as soon as we get to our new clinic 🤔

This is what they sent yesterday.
Because we would qualify up home as well I'm reluctant to pay them for more tests. I don't mind waiting anyway as we have to sort the mortgage and house and get moved up now in the next 6 months and leave it to then 🙄

@notyetamumbuttrying no I haven't, i am now a day late based on Ovia app so now cd29... but I have had a cycle as long as 32 days before so not sure how 'late' is late?

@aimzie I hope your able to transfer your results to a different clinic would be much easier and less time consuming then having to go through the whole process again. Yeah I think it is hard on men if they are the ones with a problem. There seems to be a lot they can do if its a problem with the women

@Crazydoglady123 I've just checked my secret notes (OH doesn't know I tested) and I got my BFN on 5dp5dt so the ovitrelle was definitely out of my system by then. All looking very positive for you!

@Aimzie I feel for your OH. My OH was really funny about his results and was gutted we had to have ICSI. Horrible as it is I think he'd rather it have been all me. I have everything crossed for you that there is still things they can do to retrieve sperm.

@Motherofkittens28 oh really? Giggling that they were your "secret notes" 🤣 I really hope so🤞 I assume also if both embryos implant I'll have higher HCG anyway? This is the our first two lines in 28 months TTC ☺️

Yeah I agree with @notyetamumbuttrying and only tell selected friends - I think lots knke about my miscarriage but only a few know about ttc struggles. People love to gossip so keep it small haha
