@got2be
Im going to take aspirin from tues 🤞🏻 see if it helps x

Kitekat81 · 08/05/2021 16:45

@notyetamumbuttrying well done for mastering those! Our clinic is 4 hours drive away and I'll need monitoring scans every other day from day 6, so i'll basically need to go and stay nearby from day 6 until after EC. My oh will need to stay at home as he can't work from home like I can, plus to look after the cats 🐈🐈 so he'll just come down the night before EC.

@Misty84 @MgW1 strength in numbers Smile

ImpatientTTCer · 08/05/2021 18:12

@Misty84 please try not to worry about the money being spent on it because it’s “your” problem.... would you resent it if it was “his” problem? I’m sure you wouldn’t! I know it’s very expensive though :(

My partner is also younger, just turned 33. His SA results were off the charts and of course he’s smug as anything 🙄. It’s nice to be able to cross something off the possible list of problems, but I’m also highly aware that if there’s no pregnancy then it is likely to be me causing the issue. But we’re a team and want to have a baby together...so we’ll have to enter into any potential future treatment together!

Misty84 · 08/05/2021 18:24

@MgW1 I seem to have got highs on the opks but no peak 🙄 Also temping so I guess that’ll confirm ovulation at some point!

@ImpatientTTCer Wise words. Thank you. Yes we are definitely in this together and I need to have faith that he sees it as a team effort and doesn’t resent the expense 🙈

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/05/2021 18:25

@Misty84 completely agree with @ImpatientTTCer although it’s hard try not to think of it that way. In a way I think it’s easier on the person with the good test results, they don’t have as much of the stress and guilt and fear and worry. The money is an added stress, all of this is soooo expensive 😬
Are you in London also? We live in a flat too (with no garden) but got a gorgeous little rescue dog a couple years ago and he’s the best thing ever. It’s not been too hard, but yeah early morning and late at night pee breaks even with a hangover etc! It can be done but just a bit trickier

MgW1 · 08/05/2021 18:26

@got2be
Your thrombin time level at 12.9 is within normal range which is 12 - 14 ( blood clotting time) x

Katiekattty · 08/05/2021 18:29

Hi all,

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I prefer Method products over Ecover. I find them better especially the washing up liquid. Depending on where you live a lot of the eco stores do BYOC for ecover and method and works out a lot cheaper than buying it in the shops. But also if you’re near any plastic free stores so of the products are the same quality as both brands.

Misty84 · 08/05/2021 18:31

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I am in Sutton (Surrey/ Greater London) and we have a communal garden but it’s more the fact OH wants a Labrador haha, and our flat definitely isn’t big enough for one of those! That’s so cute about your rescue dog!! I think if IVF fails for us then next year we will focus on getting a house (if we have any money left!) and a dog because that will make us happy. Will continue trying naturally and get on the wait list for an egg donor. That’s our plan anyway xx

got2be · 08/05/2021 18:40

@MgW1 thanks maybe that’s why they said no aspirin till 12w.. just wish there was a magic wand to get me to 12w.
@Misty84 so many conversations I’m not completely sure we’re your at but saw this the other day and thought to pass on

listerfertility.co.uk/faqs/

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 08/05/2021 18:50

@Katiekatttytie thanks, as long as they're compliant with the ISWTE stuff, I'm happy. That's a good idea re: the refills, like to minimise packaging.

@Misty84 oh wow yup labs are pretty large! I'm obsessed, he's a gorgeous ex stray, would love another but we really need more space and a garden also. That sounds like a really good plan! Hopefully tho, all these supplements etc, it'll happen before Aug.

ImpatientTTCer · 08/05/2021 18:53

@Misty84 you’re not far from me, I’m in Croydon! Some friends have just got a little black lab puppy. Gorgeous, but my god has she grown exponentially since they brought her home a month or so ago!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 some friends of mine got a dog just before Christmas, and they’ve trained him to ring a kind of doorbell when he wants to go out onto the balcony 😂 of course.... he’s worked out that ringing the bell gets him attention.....must be great fun in the middle of the night!
@notyetamumbuttrying
5 ft 5 inch and 11 stone , i can fit in a 12 and some 10's. My weight is in my boobs 😂😂 il try and get half a stone off , im thinking of cutting out dairy for a bit.
I’m similar, but not boobs. I don’t know where my weight goes, back maybe? I seem to accrue a lot of back fat lol. I’m just shy of 5’2 and currently a 10/12 but I’m quite a bit overweight by BMI. I weigh 10’5 and I’ve never weighed that much before except at the start of lockdown 1.0 and then I lost about a stone before putting it on again. It’s frustrating when you’re short, it doesn’t sound a lot sometimes but it is and I noticed how wide I looked in my reflection when heading out to The Bad Appointment the other day. Need to get down by a stone but will aim for 7lbs initially to get back into the good bmi zone.

I need to move more. I’m fairly depressed about all of this right now and have zero motivation. I somehow need to start regularly exercising but I don’t even want to go out. The weather isn’t helping, it’s like being back in March. I just want to get rid of my excess weight before we pay for IVF because I want a better chance.

thislittlebird · 08/05/2021 19:24

Delayed reply to all of your messages from thread 9...

@notyetamumbuttrying I don’t think I’m parking it, but I’m going to have to look into private. I’m going to speak to my GP and probably complain again, but if they don’t agree to help I can’t keep waiting for them or leave it another year.

@VixFromThe6ix thanks. I feel like giving up right now, hoping it’ll feel better in a few days.

@Misty84 it really felt like she was annoyed about the complaint. I was a little taken aback by the attitude. We’ve paid into the nhs forever, we should not have to be treated like we don’t matter or dismissed.

They want you to try for three years for unexplained here..cannot do that, I’m too old. I’ve been resting but every time I think about all this I get upset again, it’s hard. How did the lister appointment go? Who did you see?

@got2be yeah you’re right about people going online. How on Earth I haven’t been offered clomid is just...nuts. I’m constantly reading about people on here on clomid with unexplained meanwhile I have an explanation that clomid is designed to help with and nope, nothing offered. It’s ridiculous. Going to speak to the doctor and book a private consultation anyway. I will complain again and look into how to complain to the CCG.

@ElsieG3m thanks for the message and I’m sorry to hear about what you went through, that’s horrible. I’m sure you know what I mean about being frustrated with the health service. I’m glad you found someone who can help, I need to find a person. Very frustratingly we had contacted a private urologist and then his secretary just stopped replying! Yet another bizarre thing. I feel like giving up right now, it’s like no one anywhere wants to help or even take our money.

@ImpatientTTCer thanks, I’m not there yet but I’m hoping I will feel more composed again in a few days.

thislittlebird · 08/05/2021 19:32

@Kitekat81 hey, thanks and good to see you around and I know how it is finding it all hard. I came back on today and I was very worried about even looking at the main page because all the optimistic regular conception are very hard these days. I’m struggling but just hoping I’ll feel like this is all worth it again in coming days.

@KatRee thanks. The tests worry me too, the private cost that is. I wish the nhs would just give you a set of tests that they all agree are needed but the experience from one person to the next seems so wide ranging. I’m probably going to have to go private soon, I can’t keep waiting and losing time.

KatRee · 08/05/2021 19:44

@notyetamumbuttrying - yes, now that I've had the consultation and it sounds like they will be able to do our tests pretty soon, I'm definitely feeling like paying for this part has been the right decision. It's great you got NHS funding for your treatment in the end, I hope it goes well for you x

@Geriatric1234 no problem- I think his answer has given us one less thing to worry about x

@got2be woah- 600 mg ubiquinol- that is pricey. But it does sound like it's an effective supplement, so hopefully worth it.

@Kitekat81 it's not selfish - our feelings are what they are. I also get pangs of envy when I see others BFPs and worry it will never happen for me, at the same time as feeling happy and hopeful. 🤞your treatment goes well and you'll have your own BFP soon

Something else the consultant said to me this morning- red wine has antioxidants, so if your going to drink a bit...luckily for me that's my tipple 🍷. I just drink it a lot less regularly and a lot more slowly nowadays

thislittlebird · 08/05/2021 19:45

I liked both brands but I found a website recently that rates their individual products for environmentally friendliness so I’ll dig that out in case anyone wants it. Also noticed Milk & More (just started using them) do a few glass bottle cleaning and toiletry products where they collect the bottles for reusing with the milk. Thought that was pretty good.

I want a dog, we’re in a house in London so I keep saying we’ll get one if we move. But first the baby mission.

Bundaberg84 · 08/05/2021 20:18

Dogs are the best! I met my now husband while walking the dog. When we met he had two dogs, a rescue mutt and a Staffordshire bull terrier, and I had my mutt, a gorgeous bulldog / shepherd mix. We only have my dog now, unfortunately the others passed away in the meantime. My girl is almost 14 now. Crazy how time flies.

I read all your posts and just went through my vitamin drawer and I think I'll go shop for Q10 on Monday. Last time they checked my blood I didn't have any deficiencies but that was almost a year ago. I take folic acid and some other natural supplements, basically superfood like baobab and whatnot in powdered form for juices and smoothies. I think I'm covered.

But to be honest, I will still drink my prosecco before ovulation. I don't want to already stop drinking, I know how long it could take to get pregnant. And I love my prosecco. And a gin on Saturdays.
