@MgW1 definitely darker. Maybe see if you can get day21 bloods done to check.

Kitekat81 · 15/05/2021 15:40

@Misty84 that's crazy about your DHEA result. I've had it in the back of my mind that not taking DHEA might be something I might regret in a few years' time when science has finally made up its mind about it. I had one clinic who told me to take 3 x 25mg a day (without testing my levels) and the other clinic told me NOT to take it (without testing my levels) as the only likely result I might see would be that my hair would start falling out. I was thinking about doing a medichecks test but your experience of taking your own blood sample has thoroughly put me off that! And then to see your results and that you don't need it at all... I think I'll follow my clinic's advice and leave it well alone!

thislittlebird · 15/05/2021 15:48

@Kitekat81 how are you getting on?

I remember reading the DHEA thing in another book in December and not loving the sound of it then. I hope no one suggests it to me.

I sent another complaint to PALS today asking for a second opinion. Moved GP surgery too. Going to see if Lister think it’s best to se us after the urologist. I wish we didn’t have make factor. I’d feel much more confident if we didn’t have to contend with that too.

The lack of tailoring is very frustrating @Misty84. Feels like they’re all just throwing darts at a board and hoping for the best.

Kitekat81 · 15/05/2021 22:19

@thislittlebird I think that's a good move to change your GP surgery. I hope you start to get some decent care now! I'm doing ok thanks, have had a bit of a stressful week trying to track my ovulation - I want to know when I'm ovulating so I know when I'll get my period, so I know when I'll be starting my treatment on cd2, so I can book my accommodation to stay near the clinic from cd6. After 14 months of getting exactly the same lh surge pattern on my opks I didn't think I would have to worry about this part, but of course this would have to be the month that my opks have gone haywire! Instead of my usual really low lh then a rapid surge the day before ovulation, I've had 7 days in a row of strong but not quite positive lh tests. I've had to restart temping so I'll know when I've ovulated, as the opks are just confusing me. I'm now on cd17 and still haven't ovulated (usually ov cd13-16), am really hoping it's just late and not that I'm heading for an anovulatory cycle. I wouldn't have been so worried about the late ovulation as I've had that before, but the sustained high lh has freaked me out a bit. I've consulted Dr Google - first suggestion was that I might be pregnant, so I thought well that would be typical when I've just handed £13k over to the clinic! Did a hpt - negative of course. Dr Google's second suggestion was that women in perimenopause have higher lh throughout their cycle, so now I've convinced myself that I have suddenly gone into perimenopause just in time for my first ivf cycle. And that's pretty much been my week 🤦‍♀️

VixFromThe6ix · 16/05/2021 03:01

@MgW1 @got2be I'm 4dpo according to my app.... And nothing. I feel as though I'm not pregnant.had a bit of spotting again today, but I started progesterone last night so I'm going to guess that it's going to stop the spotting by tomorrow.
@got2be omg when do you think you're going to start testing?? I started at 8dpo last month and detected my chemical, so gonna convince myself not to tough a test till 12dpo.
@mgw1 sorry if I missed anything you posted that may answer my question. I know that some women can get a couple of LH peaks a cycle, but that you should only worry about the first time. Did you register a peak already and continued to measure your LH which is now showing another LH peak? Cause if that's the case, go with the first one!!
I stopped temping... Worried that if I continue to measure and pee on sticks and something shows out of the ordinary, it will just cause me to stress.
I feel like we all deserve a paid vacation after all the mental stress due to ttc.

ElsieG3m · 16/05/2021 04:19

Hi ladies, does anyone know if canesten cream and pessaries are ok when TTC? Dr Google and the nhs site seem to imply ok but not sure if anyone knows for sure? Seems ok as long as I don't take the oral pill? Flipping thrush - urgh!

Misty84 · 16/05/2021 07:54

@thislittlebird Yes it does feel like throwing darts, I wonder if that’s what they do for the first cycle and then tailor it more on the second once they see the response?! All at our expense of course! Anyway I’m speculating here, will see what the next few weeks brings! I think they are more likely to suggest DHEA to women with low amh so you should be ok, but if they do just get your level checked first!

@Kitekat81 I was always nervous about taking DHEA so in a way I’m relieved I don’t have to, despite the disappointing circumstances around it!

So sorry to hear about your cycle, that is just TYPICAL and not the kind of worry you need right now! Keep us updated, I hope you ovulate soon. I track bbt as well as opks because sometimes the opks can be a bit confusing whereas at least temping shows a clear picture and can confirm when ovulation happened. Wishing you the best of luck 🙏

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/05/2021 09:08

@Kitekat81 I’d imagine it’s the nerves for the upcoming procedure delaying ovulation, and then the increased stress about what it means for your ivf holding it off more. So you keep trying to release the egg, but can’t quite release it yet. How’s your cm etc?

OR (and I was googling this morning after 3 days of digital peak opk and no bbt rise) it could be two eggs gearing up to be released.

If you can maybe exercise, do some yoga etc. Hope you’re okay, not what you need the cycle before!

Marvellouslymadmum · 16/05/2021 09:37

@Kitekat81 I sometimes get a long Lh surge and sometimes a short one before the positive opk hopefully you'll get your peak soon! Our bodies just love to mess with us!

@ElsieG3m yes The cream etc is all ok just the tablet they tell you to speak to a doc first

@VixFromThe6ix sorry about the spotting, do you think maybe you should start the progesterone a day earlier.
I want to test and have loads of easy@home tests but doubt they pick anything up early.

GuessHowMuch · 16/05/2021 12:33

Hi everyone! I was around a few threads ago back in December/January; I’ve had a few months off while having some gynae issues investigated. I’ve got the all clear from gynae to TTC however, I’ve got fibroids and cysts galore and a few other issues so a BFP is likely not on the cards for us (my DH totally doesn’t want another so he’s happy 🙄😂).

I’ve lurked and kept up with some of the news on the thread - congratulations @M4v3r1ck! So, so pleased to see your lovely news. Hope things are going well.

Sorry to hear about spotting and crazy OPKs that people are going through 💚.

Kitekat81 · 16/05/2021 13:34

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think you're right there must be some underlying stress going on. My body obviously doesn't want me to start sticking needles in it, and is trying to put it off as long as possible! Unfortunately I don't always get much in the way of CM so that's no help to me either. I had a 32 day cycle in December and ov'd on cd20, so hoping I don't have to wait much longer. On cd18 today.

Welcome back @GuessHowMuch! Sorry to hear about your fibroids and cysts - is the gynae not wanting to remove them?

AnxiousWannabe · 16/05/2021 15:28

Hello all! Im at the end of my tww and got a bfn l. It's just a bit hard when I had a call with long lost friends and being reminded how old we all are..and how.a friend is pregnant. It's a rough day...I'm finding it hard to get outta bed even

thislittlebird · 16/05/2021 15:44

@Kitekat81 I'm worried I won't lie. I don't have confidence any of the surgeries round here are in a good way but I can only try.

With the ovulation tracking issues, I bet it's the worry of it all. I hope it sorts itself out soon. Wrt having handed over money, is their policy to hand it back if you're pregnant and the treatment hasn't started? I'm sure I've seen some places say they do when googling around.

@ElsieG3m canesten is fine, but obviously with a pessary maybe avoid dtd at the same time. I don't think there's any issue with using them really.

@Misty84 yeah, I will avoid DHEA if possible, hopefully they won't suggest it. I don't have a lot of hair as is. It's always been very fine, I can't really afford to lose any Confused. So far I'm frustrated all the lister comms are via that encrypted system. So many emails exchanged that would be a two minute phone conversation but you can't get through on the phone. I hope it gets easier from here, but I don't love not being able to call to book in.

@GuessHowMuch hope you can get your gynae issues resolved now!

Kitekat81 · 16/05/2021 15:53

@thislittlebird yeh if I'm lucky enough to get pregnant this cycle I would get my money back minus £500 cancellation charge, plus they can't refund for any meds they've already sent me so that would be another £1000 approximately. Don't get me wrong though I would happily sacrifice £1500 for a natural pregnancy! 🤞🤞🤞

Sorry you are feeling down @AnxiousWannabe

Misty84 · 16/05/2021 15:58

@thislittlebird I also have very fine hair, the idea of losing any is far too scary for me!!!
Yeah the encryption system is a pain in the arse, takes so long to have a simple exchange. It’s also really hard to look back and see what was said! I need to ring them tomorrow to ask how I can ask Dr Parikh about the Dhea issue. Hoping to be given her email address 😂 How simple do you reckon that is gonna be?! 🤦‍♀️

@AnxiousWannabe I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. Think we can all emphasise on here with how rubbish some days are, particularly with bfns and AF. My friend who started trying at the same time as me (and now has a 9 month old daughter) messaged me to let me know her sister (who I’ve never met) is pregnant too. Thanks for that 🤨😔 x

AnxiousWannabe · 16/05/2021 16:03

@Kitekat81 @Misty84 thanks!

I just find it very hard to get up nor have any appetites. I ended up splashing on a fancy fertility tracker hoping to feel better (Mira). Though I feel it does the same thing as CB advanced.

I lost my appetite too lol. But now I am up! Gonna try to exercise more and probably really push for ivf

AnxiousWannabe · 16/05/2021 16:17

@Kitekat81 I just read up on your opk tracking. I just had a crazy cycle when I get peak opk on cd14, 16, 22 and my bbt remained low. I missed my period and a week later or so I ovulated (bbt rose etc). I was under a lot of stress and only ovulated when I visibly relaxed.

Just thought of sharing

Kitekat81 · 16/05/2021 17:46

@AnxiousWannabe thanks for that, yes I think that must be what's happening, I must be stressed! Thank goodness for bbt or we wouldn't have a clue what was going on. I must try and find a way to relax, though we all know how difficult that is with so much going on! 🧘‍♀️

AnxiousWannabe · 16/05/2021 19:24

@Kitekat81 I'd like to think my immense stress just flamed itself out. Can't force one to relax.

I also like to think we all have an emotion baseline and your body simply won't drift away for too long. Of coz my stress did come back every now and then but then I bounce back to the baseline

VixFromThe6ix · 16/05/2021 23:53

@got2be that's exactly what I was thinking...to start a day earlier next cycle.

Btw I detected my pregnancy at 8dpo on eady@home sticks last time, sadly it was a Mc. But I wouldn't rule them out :)

MgW1 · 17/05/2021 09:08

Morning ladies
Any crazy POAS's out there ? I dont know how many dpo's I am but i have started testing 😂 i know its madness!!! BFN here 🙄
