@Misty84
I dont know if I rate medichecks x

got2be · 14/05/2021 23:06

@MgW1 why do you say that about Medichecks, you’ve got me worried now

MgW1 · 14/05/2021 23:25

@got2be
Well its only pin pricks ? Not like a full blood test, i dont trust such a small sample x

got2be · 14/05/2021 23:41

@MgW1 I did my amh with them as gp refused. Now I’m worried that my levels might be wrong

Geriatric1234 · 15/05/2021 07:28

@got2be Medichecks have been going for years and been shown to be very reliable. @MgW1 lots of tests only require a tiny amount of blood. Just a few cells. There’s about 5 million cells in one teeeeeeny single drop, and the finger prick tests usually need multiple drops per vial. That’s a lot of cells! Medichecks are one of the longest running testers and remember these private companies have their tests audited regularly to ensure they’re reliable. You and @Misty84 should be confident in the results.

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 07:54

@Geriatric1234
@got2be
I didnt mean to worry you! Sorry
I dont really know much about medichecks just once read reviews on TrustPilot when I considered a 21 day progesterone test. I just queried the sample size but if they have been going a long time then they must be fine 😊

got2be · 15/05/2021 08:37

@Geriatric1234 thanks for that information however @MgW1 is right regarding the trust pilot reviews just had a look 2.9stars. if I had seen that first I would never of used company. It’s actually mostly bad reviews.
I’ve never had a problem with them other then the distressing finger prick lol x

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 08:47

@got2be
Cant you ask G.p again? Why did they say no? X

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:03

@MgW1 I was told they don’t do amh on nhs. But going by others it looks like I was fobbed off. Which I don’t get going by the amount of blood tests I’ve had.

Misty84 · 15/05/2021 09:05

@got2be The NHS absolutely do test for AMH!

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:08

@Misty84 @MgW1 fertility really is a postcode lottery. I’m going to look into it an ask gyne at next appointment. Thanks xx

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 09:09

@got2be
I could not agree more !!! Xx

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 09:12

@got2be
How many months have you been trying? We had a half arsed attempt at dtd last night just in case ! My husband is still coughing and spluttering!! 🤪 he has asthma so seems to take ages to get over colds and chest bugs , not good when your a light sleeper !!! X

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:13

@MgW1 @Misty84 @VixFromThe6ix how are you all? Any symptoms? About 7dpo and convinced I’m pregnant 😂
Really don’t know why I symptom spot lol

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 09:19

@misty84 @VixFromThe6ix @got2be
Well as you know the 2ww has sent me potty and i am convinced iv had another peak 😂😂 just need to chill the f**k out! Easier said that done 🙄

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:20

@MgW1 months lol more like years 10. I have si at first we wasn’t really trying and didn’t even think there was a problem then somehow the years started rolling. took it seriously went gp and been a battle with nhs ever since as they say their is no reason for it not happening.
Did get 1st bfp last year but mc @ 5.5 weeks
So with all blood tests, hsg etc and the faint lines on tests I get I’m thinking implantation failure.

Misty84 · 15/05/2021 09:23

Thank you @got2be @Marvellouslymadmum @MgW1 @Geriatric1234 for your opinions on my Dhea test results. I’m going to try and contact someone about this on Monday! (Wish me luck getting a response out of someone hey🙄)

@got2be Dhea is usually at a low level for those with diminished ovarian reserve (which is what I have) so it’s recommended to improve egg quality. However it’s a hormonal drug, not just a supplement like Vitamin C, therefore shouldn’t be taken without testing your current level. That’s why I’m disappointed, the Lister have just assumed I have a low level and instructed me to take a high dose. If I had listened to them without testing I would have caused myself damage. I’m already in the too high category so need to work out how to bring this down!

Regarding symptoms, I’m 7dpo and no symptoms. Still soooo long to wait to take a sneaky test!

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:25

@MgW1 well hopefully if you did have a 2nd peak dtd again has covered you x
I had got over the crazy tww, but started the okps again an I’m actually convinced that’s what turns me like this 😂

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 09:26

@got2be
You prob need progesterone like me! The recurrent mc clinic count failed implantation as mc's so keep track and then ask for referral xx

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:28

@Misty84 this is the thing about fertility nothing adds up lol I get why they suggested it probably going on past results but fertility is so unique to each individual that they really should of checked as yes a hormone can do so much damage.

I was on a high dose of vitamin d and I saw the effects from that.

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:33

@MgW1 how long have you been ttc?
I didn’t know that, they did mention something about being given progesterone then another gyne said no. Then talk of referring me to mc clinic then a no again.
But will bring it up again at next appointment.
See this is why I finally joined mn, medical staff might be trained but there is no comparison to someone going through the same

MgW1 · 15/05/2021 09:36

Its all a bit too biological for me so I don't have anything to add other than after first mc I took loads of vitamins and they really screwed my cycle up and I just felt I have enough to deal with without a messed up cycle as well! X

Misty84 · 15/05/2021 09:37

@got2be Absolutely, it’s so unique to each individual and considering I’m paying a bomb for private treatment nothing feels tailored to me so far!! Hopefully just a bad start and things will improve from here!!

Makes me realise how much valuable research we are going ourselves though!

@MgW1 This is a few posts ago but the conversation you had with your OH in bed made me laugh! When you just couldn’t be bothered to do it again even though it was another potential peak 😂 I hear ya sister!

got2be · 15/05/2021 09:45

@Misty84 yes so much more research is needed, and don’t understand why it’s lacking. I’m hoping just a bad start as heard good things from lister.
@MgW1 I did that and then spotted one month so now I just stick to fa and vit d
Have added omega3 as I thought maybe my problem was inflammation but only took after ov
Next month will add coq10 was advised to take 600mg but that was before amh results so will ask again.

Geriatric1234 · 15/05/2021 10:04

@got2be I totally with you and @MgW1 about the reviews! But people mainly only post reviews on trustpilot (or anywhere) when they’re angry. All major banks and stores have less stars. And most reviews are about service and not results.
