Morning ladies, glad to see some more BFPs on here :)

Feeling worried I'm 6w5days and had some brown spotting yesterday and today and have a mild belly ache I'm so scared going to end badly again. I have a early scan tomorrow so hopefully this will either reassure me or devastate me. Has anyone else had this?

firsttimemummy321 · 14/05/2021 13:27

Hi, I hope it's ok to join? I've just had my 5th early loss in as many months and have just been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Glad it will be looked at but also nervous and not sure how long the waiting list is til they will be able to see me either. I hope everyone is doing ok and wishing everyone lots of luck ❤️

birdbybird · 14/05/2021 14:05

Hello, I disappeared for a while.
How are you going @AlbiMix?
I’m I think 3 DPO so have a long wait.

AlbiMix · 14/05/2021 15:27

Hey @justwant2beamum it's great to hear from you! Fingers crossed for you, who knows it could've been a lucky time! When I got pregnant the first time (the MC) it was a total fluke as I wasn't tracking anything so reckon we only DTD once near the fertile window.

@LaurenNH agree with @justwant2beamum, you could be covered if you DTD Thursday or Friday (or both!) And then ovulate Sat.

@wag1987 sorry to hear about your spotting and pain. Try to remember that lots of people get that and things are fine, but if you're worried you could go to EPU. If you have a private scan tomorrow that should give some kind of update and if it isn't conclusive you could go to EPU after as they will check you out if you have bleeding and pain.

@firsttimemummy321 so sorry to hear of your losses, that sounds really tough. If I was looking on the bright side though, I would say that at least you've had the losses quickly in a small space of time, as it means you're now getting in line for recurrent miscarriage investigation quite early. When I started TTC after my MC I honestly was just thinking "if it happens again at least I'm closer to getting it checked out". I hope you don't have too long to wait.

Hey @birdbybird! How are you? Fingers crossed this 2WW goes quickly for you 🤞 I'm ok thanks, still super anxious about the current pregnancy, my very minimal symptoms seem to come and go so I honestly have no clue of baby is ok or not. My early scan at 6-7w was normal but I have no idea if something's happened since. Haven't bled so far and am at 8+5, going to try to hold out to 10w then book another scan but I refuse to book scans more than three days ahead now, after having had the MC...

LaurenNH · 14/05/2021 16:28

@justwant2beamum yeah I am always telling other people this - but for some reason when DH told me he was going to be away I had a right paddy!!

I think I'm just feeling super pessimistic after everything that's gone on and I'm currently at the end of my period which I'm sure doesn't help...

My sister has just lost a pregnancy too so feeling a lot of heartbreak for her.

LaurenNH · 14/05/2021 16:33

Thanks guys!

@wag1987 might not mean anything but no harm in contacting EPU for piece of mind. My first pregnancy I had quite a bit of blood x

birdbybird · 14/05/2021 16:37

Nice to hear you're going well @AlbiMix !

jengrosve · 14/05/2021 16:40

Hey everyone, can I join? Maybe I'm being a bit premature because I'm mid miscarriage but really hoping to start trying ASAP. Plus, could do with a bit of a handhold.

Can I ask when if anyone started trying straight after they recovered from the mc? I think that's my plan...

jengrosve · 14/05/2021 16:42

@wag1987 with my first pregnancy (healthy, easy, now 3) I had spotting at exactly 6w 5d and had an early scan which showed a perfect jelly bean looking thing. No more spotting and all was fine!

wag1987 · 14/05/2021 17:09

@LaurenNH

@AlbiMix hi both, thanks for replying, I did call them aswell as my doctors as I did have a panic and they weren't really interested and said because it's early on in pregnancy there would be nothing they could really do anyway. Hopefully scan will give me an indication tomorrow x

LaurenNH · 14/05/2021 17:10

Hi @jengrosve So sorry for your loss. Hope you've got all of the support you need, I've found this forum and a twin loss one very comforting.

I started straight after my first period- MC was 3rd Feb. It's quite a rollercoaster of emotions at a time when you are very hormonal and still grieving. I've had a chemical pregnancy in this time too, but I'm trying to look at each period as a new opportunity... as well as the opportunity for wine 😁

Be kind to yourself xxx

LaurenNH · 14/05/2021 17:12

@wag1987 ah sorry I missed that your scan was tomorrow! Sending you the best vibes possible x

wag1987 · 14/05/2021 17:12

Thanks @jengrosve that's reassuring I'm just extremely nervous this time around. I thought getting pregnant after loss would kind of make me forget about the loss but instead it's given me nothing but worry and anxiety.

I tried straight away after MC. I had D&C and waited for the bleeding to stop and then waited for 1st period which was 28days after D&C. I didn't conceive first time but was pregnant after 2nd cycle. Fingers crossed for you.

jengrosve · 14/05/2021 17:30

@LaurenNH thank you. I'm doing okay but looks like the misoprostol isn't working so still haven't actually passed anything, which is doing nothing for my mental health. I feel like I haven't managed to continue the pregnancy and now can't even miscarry properly. The dr did say that waiting until after your first period was a good idea for dating purposes and I suppose I should be patient.

@wag1987 I'm sorry you're feeling like that; I completely understand though. I know it's early days for me but I don't see how I'd ever enjoy the early stages of pregnancy again in the future. I was so so naive and genuinely thought seeing the pos test last month meant I would be holding a baby by Christmas. I actually feel stupid now for being so ignorant.

I really hope that your scan tomorrow goes smoothly.

LaurenNH · 15/05/2021 13:04

@jengrosve I'm so sorry that it's not working. My sister had this issue this week and it's so horrid to have it take longer than expected. Keep us updated with how you are. L x

MSK1 · 15/05/2021 14:16

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, been a bit of a manic couple of weeks. Think AF has finally arrived, CD38, I was beginning to lose hope.

Has anyone else found that their cycles have been all over the place since their MC? First one was 37 days, second was 32 and this one 38.

We’ve been using OPKs but have no idea which day to start using them on for the next cycle. Any advice? I started the last pack of CB OPKs on day 12 but it didn’t detect a peak (I’d run out by the time I think I ovulated).

I’m feeling really deflated by the whole process, honestly think I might just give up. The BFPs on this thread give me some hope but I just can’t see it ever happening for us. Sorry, having a bit of a down day today.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend x

Madeoftea · 15/05/2021 15:01

@MSK1 sorry you're feeling so down lovely, it's completely understandable though. I've just been lucky enough to get my bfp in my first cycle after my mc (it's still really early, I'm so anxious!) but my cycle was definitely not the same as before. They used to be 33ish days but this would have been a 40 day cycle based on when I ovulated on day 28! We'd given up DTD by the time I got my peak because I was so sure it wouldn't happen, we did it once quickly when we realised and I thought I was out, but then got my bfp on 10dpo. I think I'm still in shock to be honest, I'm one of those stories that annoyed me before! Like no way can it happen that easily. But it only takes once and you never know.

It's so hard and it can be such a slog especially if you've been trying for a while but I hope your cycle settles down and you get your bfp soon. We're always here to help on the good and bad days 💛

MSK1 · 15/05/2021 16:17

Hi @Madeoftea, thank you for your message. Congratulations on your BFP, that’s wonderful!

It’s hard not to obsess over it all. Going to have a month off TTC, our rescheduled wedding is at the beginning of March and as desperate as I am to have a baby, my OH keeps reminding me that I won’t enjoy the wedding if I’m 9 months pregnant. Will be back on the bus next month though, hopefully I’ll be 8 months pregnant at the wedding. Not sure my size 8 dress will fit though. Bloody covid!

Blondiebrownie6 · 16/05/2021 13:13

Congrats on those with more BFP, how wonderful! Sending Spotify vibes to those in 2 week waits..

Hope your scan went well @wag1987 and any worries have eased for you. Sorry to hear you are feeling down @MSK1, i totally get where you are coming from and at times this journey can feel totally overwhelming! This is my first cycle post MMC, started with the clear blue OPK today, I had irregular cycles before so I suspect a similar pattern this time but couldn’t say just now. trying to keep positive .... for now!

Can I ask ladies , before it has been mentioned or drinking POM juice to support with thickening lining I believe? Can I ask how much you drink and at what point ? I’m trying to get my diet back on track and conscious of sugar/calorie content so don’t want to go too wild ! Any advice would be appreciated :) Thankyou x

MSK1 · 16/05/2021 13:18

Thank you @Blondiebrownie6 and good luck with this cycle. I’m going to do the same, feel like I’ve been eating way too much rubbish recently so going to try to eat a bit more healthily from now on.

wag1987 · 16/05/2021 14:56

@Blondiebrownie6 aw thank you, scan went well thanks we saw a heartbeat :)

Reassured me for now but not sure how long it will last. I have booked another scan for 10weeks

cupcakesandglitter · 16/05/2021 17:18

Sorry you're feeling down @MSK1 I'm also taking a few months off TTC - I've just had a second mc straight after my last one, feeling shit and fed up now. Going to try and lose a bit of weight, eat healthy and start looking after myself a bit better first. Fingers crossed as soon as you're ready to TTC again it happens for you xx

MSK1 · 16/05/2021 17:29

Hey, @cupcakesandglitter, so sorry to hear that you’ve suffered another MC, thinking of you. Yes, I think I’m going to have a couple of months to hopefully sort myself out. Not going to go mad but think I just need to relax a bit, eat a bit better and enjoy the odd glass of wine. I’ve literally cut booze and caffeine out. Wonder if that’s not been helping as when before I got my BFP I’d had the odd drink as it was Christmas? Just going to try to go with the flow a bit more and not to feel as stressed. EASIER SAID THAN DONE I know 🙄 X

Blondiebrownie6 · 16/05/2021 17:54

That was meant to say **positive above and not bloody Spotify!!

Thanks @MSK1, i Defos feel better for eating better and excising again , it does wonders for my mood! But I’ll be honest, i have still been having a couple glasses of wine on a weekend (for my own sanity) but have cut right back on the caffeine and just having decaf mainly and the odd normal one. It can be hard sticking to everything especially when you see some with terrible lifestyles that conceive and carry no problem :/

Glad to hear all went well @wag1987 what a relief to see a wee heartbeat :) keep taking it day by day and hopefully this next few weeks Go in quick for you. Sorry to hear of your sad news @cupcakesandglitter what a difficult time for you. Take care of yourself xx

MSK1 · 16/05/2021 18:31

Totally get what you mean @Blondiebrownie6. Seeing one of my friends this week who is so unhealthy but has just had a perfect little baby boy. It makes no sense sometimes does it?! 🤷🏻‍♀️
