@thislittlebird oh christ! I have nonidea what I'm doing then re pineapple! I am 3dpo and had a nice juicy slice for breakfast, but I want my uterus to remain where it is, not to shed 🙈

After ovulation 3 Brazil nuts instead of pineapple. God it's a minefield! 😂😬. Just be careful adding too much new stuff to your cycle. I think I did the opposite and stopped taking some vitamins tablets when I started ttc and think I've delayed my ovulation as a result! I had an ultrasound last week to check things are ok and the nurses were absolutely adamant to stop tracking stuff and stressing and just have sex every other day during the month. I think all this tech to help conception isn't always helping. I think I've realised that the main thing I need is patience and calm!

That said I am still doing BBT and opks!! 😂🤦‍♀️

@Noodella18 it's honestly such a minefield! I've researched and researched everything and double check it all before I take/if it's a certain time of the month and I haven't managed to change anything in my cycle yet luckily

Hi all, thanks for creating such a space!

I am 39 and been TTC#1 for 4 months (we started late). I have pretty bad anxiety and we actually seek help from fertility clinic.

The doc we met wasn't keen on us proceeding with ivf. We did our fertility assessment and everything came back fine. He wanted us to try letrozole, clomid, fallopian tube check etc before we even consider ivf.

I'm just concerned that as I age my egg quality deteriorates at exponential rate. We won't be using NHS funding as we are not eligible.

The clinic has good success rate but I am not keen to proceed if the doctor is not on board. But it's the best in my area ...

Kinda at a cross road now.

@gigchic hey what a great article, do you know if the brazil nuts need soaking first?

@Marvellouslymadmum using the intelligent recorder on the fermometer app and it doesn't even register the same strip in the same way taking pictures seconds apart! I'm not allowed to post a pic yet but it says 2% 7% and 14% I mean make up your mind!

However I see a tiny line coming! Maybe my surge will hit later this afternoon 🤞🏼

@got2be don't think so. I just eat a few raw and also eat plenty of seeds. I read this about seeds too...

Seed cycling by consuming 1 tbsp of ground pumpkin seeds and ground flax seeds daily during cycle days 1-14, and then consuming 1 tbsp of ground sesame seeds and ground sunflower seeds during cycle days 15-28.

I like seeds on everything anyway so just made sure I added sesame seeds (I don't grind them as can't be bothered!)

Hi @Noodella18 thanks for checking in on me! It's been a strange couple of days. Couldn't resist so tested with a cheapie on 13/14dpo and got a faint line. Legged it to Boots for a CB digital and it's confirmed my first ever BFP
Very early days indeed at 3wks+5 and feeling very nervous about it sticking. Wish me luck!

@AnxiousWannabe hi I think your doctor sounds great, and is actually trying to put your body through less stress then needed, if that makes sense. as you've been trying under a year, 6m for us you may not need IVF, i'm 39 too so understand the age thing. however I've been told IVF is my only option as I OV and wish I had choices such as clomid/letrozole.
i'd say work with him but give yourself a deadline.

Yeah like @gigchic said, I wish I had your doctor @AnxiousWannabe. I understand the age anxiety but the fertility people I spoke to didn’t want to talk about clomid (despite me having low progesterone) and the admin people there just pushed me towards IVF and I hung up the phone on them.

A balance of both is ideal, trying things while you wait/prep the body for Ivf maybe.

@gigchic thanks raw it is then. looked into seed cycling and have stocked up ready to go next cycle. Going to need a timetable at this rate with all i'm trying, lol good luck with your journey x

@M4v3r1ck @got2be Thank you! Nervously accepting positive vibes! We are in the middle of tests for referral and I am concerned that my poor FSH will mean the egg might not be up to the job. But, it clearly looked ok to be chosen swimmer, so hopefully it'll be a sticker.

Not sure I'm a model for any advice but if you want to ask anything, ask away! The only real piece of advice I have is make sure you buy a pair of jeans and a bra that definitely won't fit you in pregnancy, it's a sure bet for a BFP!

Hi @AnxiousWannabe I would definitely give it more time, 4 months is nothing in the scheme of things and if all your tests are fine give it at least a few more months then maybe try the clomid etc first, you're definitely not too old yet!

@charja100 I use lots of different apps and they all do this, if you've just got a front line I doubt you'll get your surge yet, probably a few days

@gigchic that 14 days recommendation for seed cycling is for if you have a standard 38 day cycle with 14 day Lp. It has to be the first two up until ovulation then the second two after.

Morning all, mind if I join?
I’m 39 and TTC baby no.2 (baby no.1 will be 8 this year!) with 41yo DP (not baby no.1’s dad)
Had a terrible experience with no.1 and said I’d never do it again but I met a wonderful man and ... here I go again!
I fell pregnant after DTD just once last time, obviously it’s not going to be so easy this time due to my advancing age!
This is cycle 2 for me, I’ve started taking Proceive Max, DP is taking Impryl and we are exercising daily and eating all the recommended fertility foods. Still can’t shake the feeling that’s it’s not going to be an easy ride.
I’ve RTFT (it moves fast!) and looking forward to keeping up with everyone else’s journeys. Good luck to all 🤞🏻

Oh and ref pineapple ... I hate it! Anyone made it into a smoothie??

@gigchic urgh, ok, change of plan then! puts down pineapple. rootles round nut box to find brazils I take the nurses' point but really, sex every other day for the entire cycle?! NOPE.

@AnxiousWannabe what makes you think that something is wrong? You've only been trying for 4 months and it's totally normal that it might take longer than that. I'm certainly no expert, but my understanding is that IVF is quite an undertaking and there are lots of other things you can do before that to improve your chances. Are you and your partner generally fit and healthy? Have you been tracking ovulation etc? I'm sorry about your anxiety, I had suffered with it and it's the pits (now on Sertraline and wish I have taken it a decade sooner than I did.)

@charja100 just to add, the clearblue only registered as positive when the femometer one did too, so it wouldn't have been any better using them anyway (and a whole lot more expensive, especially when I was peeing on like 8 strips a day willing my surge to come!)

@TTCat39 OMG THAT'S SUCH GREAT NEWS!!! I'm totally thrilled for you! And keeping fingers firmly crossed. Please post updates!!! I can't be certain, but I seem to remember you had recently had some crap news about your fertility? If so this is even more exciting!

@M4v3r1ck me too. It's doubly annoying cause the pineapple is just ripe now, and really tasty!

@Noodella18 Thank you! Yes, my FSH was tested as 13.2 earlier this month, so not great. I had a big cry about that and ate a lot of Easter chocolate. Thankfully my progesterone was ok, and hopefully continues to be.
I did have a big dip in my bbt at what I think was 6dpo, which seems early for implantation, but had my fingers crossed that this cycle might be different from then on. I considered continuing with bbt charting after getting the BFP, but have decided it's too stressful! Waking at 5.30 every day to agonise over a change of 0.1 degree is too much for me at the moment.

@TTCat39 well that's bloody brilliant! I think you said that your period was due today right? Are you continuing to test or just seeing what happens now? 6dpo sounds about right from what I've read.

And I don't blame you re the BBT. I'm 3dpo and my temp has gone 36.3, 36.2, 36.1 so I've no idea what the hell is going on, but putting it down to very uneven sleep and erratic test times due to my toddler having a rubbish cold and not letting us get much sleep.

OMGoodness @TTCat39 YAY! This is excellent news. Fingers and toes crossed.

@Noodella18 AF was due yesterday. I'm not very good at "wait and see"!! CB digital showed 1-2weeks pregnant, which seems to be right.
I don't think I'll keep testing, unless I get some bleeding. Just endless googling of what's next, at the moment. I need to cancel my cervical smear which is booked in for next week (at least I assume it's not a good idea to go poking around in there at the moment?!) so I'll tell them the news then and see what I need to do. All new to me!

I have found a website which allows me to input my age, weight and height (and any previous losses and births, which is none for me) and gives a probability for MC. I know, not a very positive outlook and it doesn't allow for crap FSH results, but I'm quite frightened by it all and find that data helps.
Well, I've decided to look at it positively and at the moment it says I've got a 73% chance of getting to 20 weeks. If someone told me I had a 73% chance of catching a terrible disease I'd assume it was a forgone conclusion...so I'm trying to be positive about that figure, if that makes any sense at all!!

@gigchic It makes me tired just reading the suggestion to dtd every other day throughout the month. OH and I would never manage!!😂🥵

Every other day THROUGHOUT?! Phew! Not something we could manage. We only dtd 4 times this cycle, all in fertile week. Other months we've managed more, but I guess it's just luck and timing of getting a good egg to meet a good swimmer. Fingers crossed they're good 'uns anyway.
