@ShirleyValentineManc I use Fertility Friend, Period Diary and Easy@home 🤪

Noodella18 · 21/04/2021 21:13

Question for everyone, but especially @marvellouslymadmum because I think she does it, but PINEAPPLE, how much should I be eating, and any tips?

I'm 2dpo, ovulation took its sweet time this month, CD20! Pondering whether it might have been the B complex I was taking but have now stopped. We managed to have sex on 14, 15, 17, 19 and 20 so hoping it's done the trick, but bloody hell was it hard work by the end!

ShirleyValentineManc · 21/04/2021 21:16

PS just actually read the ovulation test strip box! It states that a faint line is negative test. 2nd line needs to be the same shade or more intense than the control. I'm so screwed! Never get anything but a faint thin line...

@Misty84 wow! I hate my app. As you can see by my stats I'm all over the place. So the app tells me I'm 3 days late and I still get my hopes up. There were these two months where I had two bleeds (maybe MC?) So app data is taking those into consideration. So you like your 3 apps?! Wink

ShirleyValentineManc · 21/04/2021 21:25

#pineapple gives me a really sore 😝 so I'm out 😂

Noodella18 · 21/04/2021 21:38

@MgW1 I tried them last month but obvs I'm still here so I think they're TERRIBLE (cause they didn't give me a bfp!)

got2be · 21/04/2021 21:45

@Noodella18
Ive tried pineapple core, was the only month out of my TTC4 journey that i got a BFP. I sliced a whole pineapple into 5 slices and ate 1 slice (including core) every morning on empty stomach.

Noodella18 · 21/04/2021 21:52

@got2be oh does it have to be on an empty stomach?! I just slogged through a massive chunk of core post dinner 🙈

got2be · 21/04/2021 21:53

@ShirleyValentineManc I use flo, find it quite accurate. cant seem to add screenshot though.

Misty84 · 21/04/2021 21:56

@ShirleyValentineManc Fertility Friend is the one I like best. Easy@home I just use to read my opks. Period diary was the very first one I got, and it’s quite basic but means I have a “second opinion” on when AF is due etc!

@Noodella18 I have eaten pineapple core the last 2 months, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, only thing is some articles said eat 5 days before including ovulation day, and some said start eating after ovulation 🤦‍♀️ So god knows. Well it didn’t work last month but I’m still waiting to see about this month!🤞

got2be · 21/04/2021 21:59

@Noodella18 i'm not expert as still chasing a rainbow but im sure that's what i read. something about the bromelain acting as an anti inflammatory.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/04/2021 22:34

Hi @got2be I've heard that thyroid can really effect fertility but once your tsh levels are where they should be everything should be ok.

@VixFromThe6ix I can definitely see the line on the second pic!

@ShirleyValentineManc I use 7 different apps 🙈 they all say different things so I compare them all lol I use clue, glow, Femometer, fertility friend, Premom, flo and the clearblue one for my opk and my af and Lp change every month so I'm still none the wiser 😂 I never got anything but front lines on those either that's why I now use the clearblue digital ones

@Noodella18 I slice the pineapple into 5/6 slices and remove the peel and then eat one each morning including the core on an empty stomach in the fw

Noodella18 · 21/04/2021 22:51

@marvellouslymadmum oh whaaaat, you eat it in fertile week?! I thought it was for post ovulation 🙈

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/04/2021 23:05

@Noodella18 I'll attach the article I read, it explains it all really well in there but yes it's the few days prior to ovulation and ovulation day

@VixFromThe6ix

Hi everyone!!! 👋 Anyone over 35 and trying for baby #1? Baby dust for everyone ✨
Hi everyone. I'm 36 and TTC #1. I've just found your thread and would love to join if I can?! Smile
charja100 · 21/04/2021 23:47

@Noodella18

Ladies, do we think this is positive? I've been stressing that I've killed off my ovulation with vit b complex as I'm on CD 20 now and my LH levels have been higher than normal for 4 days but no surge. I thought it was supposed to be low, low, low, HIGH! Not a gradual increase.

This was just now but the test line is two-tone, left bit is dark and right bit is lighter. What on earth is that supposed to mean?! Stupid femometer opks. Off to get a box of clear blue shortly.

I would say it looks positive!

I'm on my first box of fermometer opks but they don't seem to be working for me. I'm on day 15 and ovulation was due yesterday (average 26 day cycle). I've been doing LH tests since day 9 and no LH surge in sight. I'm wondering if these strips are working for me Hmm

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/04/2021 07:30

Hi @charja100 welcome, those strips never seem to work very well for me either I ended up getting the clearblue digital advance ones they're a lot easier

charja100 · 22/04/2021 07:50

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks for your message. I think I'm going to try the clear blue digital ones next. It's stressing me out that I'm not seeing a surge. I know that there is a chance it may be anovulatory cycle too but I feel like the strips aren't being reliable

ShirleyValentineManc · 22/04/2021 08:54

@Misty84 @Marvellouslymadmum can't believe that with the numbers of women that have pregnancies that there aren't better at home services. For example, finger prick blood testers (like diabetics have).
Think of all the time that some of us waste when we could know the answers in a heartbeat!

Noodella18 · 22/04/2021 09:15

@charja100 I used the femometer strips this month as well and was FREAKING OUT because I hadn't seen a peak and thought the strips were dodgy. I even crosschecked it with a spare easy@home one and a clearblue, but actually the femometer was ok (and darker than the other tests...!). My peak didn't come until CD 20, but then the lines were really clear positives and lasted a couple of days. I had a 28 day cycle until starting TTC last month, but obviously as soon as I started trying it lengthened to 32 days, with much later ovulation than anticipated. I would just keep on testing twice a day. Personally i found that my highest level is around 5pm and testing with FMU is pointless as there is no LH in it.

charja100 · 22/04/2021 09:22

@Noodella18 thanks fo much for your message. We are still BD very other day and I will keep testing (have been since day 9) the last three days I've been testing twice a day convinced I would catch the surge and just nothing! Confused

I read somewhere else not to use FMU so I think I'm avoiding that. But maybe I need to not drink anything at all before and just carry on testing!

I always thought I'd be one of those people who was really relaxed about TTC and I'm already obsessive 😂

Noodella18 · 22/04/2021 09:29

@charja100 I mean yes, obviously drinking will affect how dark the lines are, and I was worried about the same thing, but it wouldn't make a surge look properly light - maybe it would bring it down to like 60% or 70%, but it wouldn't bring it down to like 20% if you see what I mean? So if all of your scores have been really low it would suggest you haven't had your surge yet. Even when I was testing 2 days after surge having drunk loads of water, my scores were up at 60%. Obviously everyone is different but I do think you'd be very unlucky to totally miss it.

thislittlebird · 22/04/2021 09:42

Just to add on the pineapple topic that it’s also known to impact your periods so make sure you’re eating it at the right time if any of you are eating it for ttc

rubycup.com/blogs/news/the-day-i-accidentally-increased-my-period-flow

I was eating them last September or October to try to make my period heavier and I think it worked but it also made it earlier from what I recall.

thislittlebird · 22/04/2021 09:43

Welcome @charja100 and any new people, I’m not up to speed so I might have missed some!
