Just got back from acupuncture, hoping it helps sort my periods out post antibiotics.

It's tomorrow! I'm kind of excited tbh, we finally get to talk to someone and see what happens next. It's taken what feels like forever!

@Marvellouslymadmum I hope so. I am worried they'll tell us we need xyz tests and they'll take a while, but I'll raise that when there.

So after reading about waiting times with drs and people wishing they had gotten help earlier, I decided to ask my Dr about wait times locally, and unbelievably she said there was nothing harm getting basic bloods done now and an update smear ready to make a referral of needed. 😲

So smear today and blood results came through, everything so far seems ok, the only anomaly (is that how you spell it!?) Was my Prolactin levels, which were really high, so she wants my bloods repeating in 3 weeks, anyone else high levels, I think mine were over 1000!!!

Evening all. We have a telephone appointment with Stepping Hill Infertility Service in June.
Can anyone tell me what to expect?
The referral has taken place after 21 day bloods showed I'm not ovulating.
(However opk show my ovulation happens on day 6-10!).
As it's a telephone appointment I know no tests will take place (ridiculous time wasting?!)
Any pointers for things I need to mention, questions I need to ask?
OH hasn't even had sperm test as local wait is 12 weeks.

@02Carol that’s why I joined it strength in numbers get more support and information then from google and gp. Mine were 127 what was your range?

@thislittlebird was reading through another thread yesterday and see people use vitamin c and b6 to length cycle

@ShirleyValentineManc hey, so you ovulate early like me, so cd21 won't work for you. You need to have that test done 7dpo. I ovulate cd10/11 so mine were done on cd17 not 21. You need to get a redo on the right day. Have you had day 3s done yet? You'll also need a transvaginal scan as well.

@thislittlebird @Misty84 I read the other way around. That doing amh on day 3 could potentially give a higher reading as that’s when you have more immature follicles.
@Anonapapple I find I’m more in tune with my body as I’ve got older, so maybe you had all them twinges before but mind was elsewhere.
Maybe see if you can have a check up as that will give you peace of mind

@ElsieG3m thanks, glad to know I've got folk in the same boat. I'm just taking conception multivitamins, nothing fancy.
@Noodella18 I tried temping last time around but never got to grips with it at all. I found tracking dates and CM better to get fertile dates, then used OPKs to finalise dates. Hopefully that'll work this time too 🤞 x

Couldn't agree more, I've learnt more off here than anywhere else, these ladies are fab.

My levels were just over 1000 mIU/L I think, she didn't tell me the actual figure but I saw the screen.

She said it can be caused by stress, but had I had any other symptoms which I didn't think I had, but been googling and if I squeeze my nips (not for fun) I do get a small bubble of milky fluid, so now I'm thinking this isn't great.

@02Carol yes stress or pregnancy can cause high levels but I believe they did mine to rule out pcos along with testosterone.
I’m actually not sure thinking about it now.
But it’s good they are going to re test as it could change.

@ShirleyValentineManc what were your progesterone levels? You may still be ovulating, depends how low it is.

@got2be acupuncture was fine, I had a nice nap 😴. Relaxing. So far when I’ve had it my periods have been “normal” again. I’ve had months and months of weird light periods from august last year and then they came back to normal for a couple of months when I had acupuncture but then I was on over 8 weeks of antibiotics which messed them up. I’m hoping my cycle goes back to normal (which is around 29 days) from this month. I’m on b6 and vitamin c although I have not taken the c in a few days.

Day 3 is higher? Yikes, now I want to know how many are in there on day 3, maybe that’s why my AMH was higher than AFC 👀

@got2be @thislittlebird Hmm my AMH was taken on day 20, and very low. But surely one of the doctors would have mentioned that it fluctuates significantly during cycle if that’s true? Especially as they use it as a marker for funding criteria!

@thislittlebird a lot of people have said their periods were lighter last year including me, makes me wonder if lockdown had an affect on it!

@Misty84 I’m not entirely sure, read a few articles and considering they do the afc early in cycle it did kind of make sense to me. I’ve just done an amh waiting for results but may test the theory and do another at start of cycle.

@got2be I did try and get my amh redone, but it was rejected when it got to the lab so I never knew the results. Frustrating because that was on CD3 so it would have been interesting to see. They rejected it because it had already been done in last 12 months.
I’m sure once I’ve gone private I’ll be able to have it redone whenever I want as I’ll be paying for it!

Just a check-in to say I’m 8dpo and zero symptoms but I’d written this cycle off a little as I had my first Covid vaccine the day after ovulation anyway ;-D Had a raging fever so not convinced it was a great implantation environment!

@notyetamumbuttrying not had any other tests but the 21day. GP referred me straight away. In 2013 I had an ultrasound, is that a transvaginal scan?
@thislittlebird gp didn't share results of 21 bloods I'll ask Stepping Hill what the results were

Hi ladies,

Does anyone know if flu/temps can affect your fertility in a given month? The last two months I had the Covid vaccine (had very strong reaction and fever for nearly a week) and then a fluey/cold bug with another temp for a few days. Both in week before fw.

Just wondering if illness affects things or am I clutching at straws?! 😂
