@got2be I had AMH and follicle count done on CD3, which apparently is a good time to do it so they said! My AMH was fairly low at 6.6 (I’m 36) but the consultant said not to be disheartened as it only takes one egg!

@Misty84 I’m so glad it wasn’t horrendous, and that they’ve confirmed the tubes aren’t blocked. Great news! I have a feeling the ultrasound lady said I had a retroverted uterus too, I’ve forgotten what she said as for some reason the “hair or tooth filled cyst” she said that I had somewhat distracted me from everything else 😂

Misty84 · 04/05/2021 21:30

@ElsieG3m I’ve been trying for No 1 for 22 months with not a glimmer of luck yet!

@ImpatientTTCer Yes that would have distracted me too!!

Noodella18 · 04/05/2021 21:50

@ImpatientTTCer hair or tooth filled cyst?!?! 😱

ImpatientTTCer · 04/05/2021 21:58

@Noodella18 please please please do not google it.....it’s called a dermoid cyst, and apparently is just a tiny mass of cells (teeth/bone/hair) that grew incorrectly before birth. Totally harmless, fingers crossed, and very tiny....but the stuff nightmares are made of 😂

got2be · 04/05/2021 22:12

@ImpatientTTCer glad your hycosy went well. fingers crossed it makes a difference.
i suppose your right about one egg, think I've avoided having that test as thought it would be the worse outcome but you all give me hope that if it its something that can be improved. x

MgW1 · 04/05/2021 22:12

@impatientTTcer
Are you having cyst removed ?
I did google 🙈 x

ImpatientTTCer · 04/05/2021 22:42

@MgW1 ohhh nooo, and just before bedtime!! Aren’t they petrifying?! No, they won’t remove it because it’s only 1cm so they’re afraid of missing it and harming the ovary. Just have to “wait and see if it grows”..... 🙄 But I’m convinced it’s the cause of any during-sex pain that I have...it’s always in the same place, which fits with the scan!

@got2be it was @Misty84 who had the hycosy today....I’ve been told it’s the next thing on the list if we’re not pregnant within the next few months though....ugh! Have you read the book “It starts with the egg”? All about improving egg quality through supplements and changes to things like plastic/chemical use. Very interesting, but a bit of a rabbithole! I’ve just bought loads of glass kitchen stuff, and vegan nail varnish 🙈

got2be · 04/05/2021 22:45

@Anonapapple a year is not long ttc for 1st you fell straight away with 2nd and 6m over 35 is what gp's ask for b4 any investigations, as you've only started trying i would start with basic vit's and see how you go. you sound super fertile and would suggest you take a test as you could be worrying for nothing, i have no knowledge on early menopause but as you had your last at 34, i don't think its something you should worry about but if you are you could do private bloods to check.

MgW1 · 04/05/2021 22:49

@ImpatientTTCer
Well at least its only little . It is a bit freaky 🙈 there might be a tooth in there !!

got2be · 04/05/2021 22:52

@Misty84 @ImpatientTTCer sorry screen is a blur. yes I've done the same got rid of all plastic.
and think i got that on amazon been trying so long that after mc last year i kinda threw the towel in. an dropped alot of vit's.
but now I'm in a better head space so starting all again.
has anyone listened to the podcast fertility rewire?
i had a consultation with her today she advised to take 3m off ttc to work on egg.

ElsieG3m · 04/05/2021 23:16

@Misty84 that's tough going. I know only anecdote and it doesn't always help but my friend took two years for both her two little ones. Just at the point she was thinking about drawing a line and not actually trying, she fell. No particular reason, just one of those things. Another took 10 years and multiple ivf rounds for her first with diminished Ov reserve, was breastfeeding and fell immediately and naturally with second. It does happen more often than you think. I know how hard it is to keep positive but there are so many positive stories out there and I think sometimes all the pressure and stress makes things so much harder. Sending loads of luck and happy thoughts (& I must learn to practice what I preach!! 😂) xx

thislittlebird · 05/05/2021 00:05

Welcome to the new people!

@Misty84 welcome to the inverted uterus club with me Confused

thislittlebird · 05/05/2021 00:25

@got2be I’m not sure about the AMH thing, I think you can do it any time of the month because it comes from the little follicles that are just hanging out in there at any given time. Did what you read suggest it is higher around ovulation?

Anonapapple · 05/05/2021 05:11

@got2be thank you. It could go either way, I could get pregnant straightaway or things may have changed since I last tried to conceive. Things definitely feel different this time around. I have mild ongoing ovary pain throughout the month that developed nearly a year ago so that could be an issue, I don't know. I know when my mum was my age, maybe a bit younger, she just suddenly couldnt have kids anymore. Will see what happens!

Misty84 · 05/05/2021 06:34

@ImpatientTTCer @got2be Yes I got ISWTE about a month ago and made loads of changes including getting rid of plastic, buying ‘clean’ products, no longer dyeing my hair or painting my nails (sob!) and of course the crazy amount of vitamins!!

FSH and LH have to be done on CD 2-5. AMH can be done anytime in the cycle.

@thislittlebird The doctor said around 50% of women have retroverted uteruses and it shouldn’t affect getting pregnant!

Thank you @ElsieG3m. It’s true that most people get their baby eventually right? I do have faith in general. 🙏

ElsieG3m · 05/05/2021 06:38

@Misty84 yes - it's a tough old road but you will get there xx

Teachermummy83 · 05/05/2021 06:56

Hi ladies, can I join?

TTC number 2 at age 37, almost 38. Had my dauggter in 2019 just days before my 36th birthday but she took 18m to conceive, so expecting another long, emotional ride. (I was a big follower of the yam threads, are they still around??!)
I'm back to tracking everything on the app, using xheapy OPKs, conceive plus, taking the vitamins and aiming for every other day in the fertile week, it's a tiring week 😂. Age and weight not on my side so crossing everything. Must try the grapefruit juice trick again too.
Good luck everyone

Henslovetoscratch · 05/05/2021 11:06

Hi folks, what a lot of different chats going on in one place, it's amazing! Just to say I drank grapefruit juice this month and noticed a big difference. Currently 2dpo and not holding out hope but you never know I guess?!

MgW1 · 05/05/2021 11:23

@Henslovetoscratch
Im interested in the grapefruit juice , what did you notice difference with ? Ewcm?

Henslovetoscratch · 05/05/2021 11:36

@MgW1 yes indeed, I drank fresh pink grapefruit juice , a glass a day in morning, and noticed an increase in ewcm and for more days, think I had at least five..I guess it could be coincidence but can't hurt!

MgW1 · 05/05/2021 11:43

@Henslovetoscratch
Il try it , is it drinkable 😂 , never tried it before! Im going to get some pomegranate too.

Misty84 · 05/05/2021 11:50

Those who drink grapefruit and/or pomegranate juice, what type do you buy? I’m a bit worried about the sugar/sweetener content. Or do you squeeze fresh? Thanks!

Henslovetoscratch · 05/05/2021 11:54

I have fresh tropicana which is 100% fresh grapefruit and I love it but I love grapefruits :-) pink stuff is defo sweeter!!

spttc · 05/05/2021 12:01

@Misty84 I'm with you on the sugar 😂🙈(natural sugar even in the 100% juice). I'm tempted to try it but Iv heard evening primrose oil tablets does the same thing 🧐

MgW1 · 05/05/2021 12:05

@Henslovetoscratch
Brill thanks for that , il give it a bash 😊
