@Misty84 yeah I'm terrified too but been a long time coming! (Month 20 of ttc now).
I get an nhs round so we're at guys and st Thomas hospital. How about you? Same about used to take pregnacare and now doing them all individually. I'm down to 4 a day now, so a slight rattle 😂 how comes you don't get nhs funding? (If not too prying).

got2be · 03/05/2021 23:56

@thislittlebird I’ll know by the end of the week. So will update then. But fingers crossed it is good.
I was thinking to start that. That’s the pure form right?

Misty84 · 04/05/2021 06:33

@notyetamumbuttrying I’m on month 22 TTC so we’re in a very similar boat indeed! Wish I was eligible for funding though, this is potentially going to financially cripple us! We’re probably going with the Lister and one round (including all the drugs etc) is in the region of £7000. I’m not eligible for NHS funding because my AMH is 2.3 and they don’t accept anyone under 5.4. Weeks of tears after I was told that 😞.

ImpatientTTCer · 04/05/2021 09:05

@Misty84 I haven’t had one done so I’ve no idea of the pain, but I have everything crossed for you that it’s not painful!

Noodella18 · 04/05/2021 09:08

CD1 here! Feeling fine about it, onwards and upwards to cycle 3. Just ordered a new pack of LH strips and a backlit bbt thermometer 🌡and have agreed a new routine with my partner to avoid FWF (fertile week fatigue); I get ewcm for about 4 days before peak, so we are going to have sex here and there before I get it, have sex every other day once the ewcm comes and then do 3 days on the bounce once I get my peak 👍

spttc · 04/05/2021 09:27

@Noodella18 sorry about AF! The new routine sounds similar to SMEP. I'm doing that this month. You should look into it if you Havnt before. It's free on amazon 👌

ElsieG3m · 04/05/2021 09:28

@Noodella18 sorry she arrived lovely 😩 but glad you are feeling ok. I'm also feeling much better now over the dreaded TWW. are you taking ubiquinol? I was only going to take FA and vit d 1000iu but having read on here the benefits of co-q10 and various scientific opinions, I think I'll add that. Moving away from pregnacare though as I think it has been making me have fake pregnancy symptoms. I'm now on cycle #4 and going for a fertility MOT on Thursday just to see if everything is ok. I'm 37 and have a healthy 2 year old daughter conceived v quickly so in two minds about going on thursday really. Have you had any tests done yet? Xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/05/2021 10:01

@Misty84 yes very similar journey then! Oh so sorry hun, that is crushing isn't it. Mines 5.4 so I would've only just made it in your area. It's 4.1 around here. I guess you've looked into the access fertility packages too? Most clinics use them.
@Noodella18 sorry about AF, glad you're ok though! Sounds like a good plan re the schedule.
@ElsieG3m I take ubiquinol as well as FA and vit D. Best of luck at the appointment, I'm sure everything is fine but good to put your mind at ease too.

ElsieG3m · 04/05/2021 10:48

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks lovely. Do you use a particular ubiquinol brand? I actually get terrible migraines and co-q10 is recommended for those too so figure can't hurt.

And @Noodella18 sorry love, realised you may be v early in TTC journey so not suggesting you should go for tests yet - was just being nosey!! 🤣

Am interested in amh as I'd read it's scientifically an unreliable indicator of actual fertility - ie it can't tell you you won't get pregnant naturally and shouldn't be used as fertility indicator. I read it's only useful for telling you how many eggs you may produce during ivf egg collection. As such nervous about getting the result and feeling despair on Thursday but it not being a reliable stat. Anyone else have pearls of wisdom on this?
Also did I see above that for reliable result for SA we should dtd at the frequency you'd expect in fw? Ie a couple of days before?

CityGirlintheCountry · 04/05/2021 11:08

Hi all,
jumping on this 33 page bandwagon! I'm 37, DH is 38 and we're TTC for #1. Came off Mirena in January, NTNP until last month, when we decided to SWI for reals. 2 weeks post AF, so fingers crossed!

Side note - massive thank you to everyone in this group for sharing - I've learnt so much just being a fly on the wall. (Also the glossary page on MN is brilliant!)

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/05/2021 12:10

@ElsieG3m I'm swapping brands actually! Pics below. Swapping onto the green one as its double the dose and I've been told more is better!
You're right on the amh front so unless you're going for ivf it can be largely ignored (I'm led to believe)
The SA one is interesting as our urologist said to abstain for 3 days for optimum results but seems bizarre to say considering most couples dtd every other day or every day during fw so 🤷🏾‍♀️
@CityGirlintheCountry welcome and good luck for a short bus ride!

ElsieG3m · 04/05/2021 12:14

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks lovely! Was going to get the zita west pre-conception supplement actually having just done a bit of research. Cambridge ivf are doing my bloods during my period this week which seems weird?! But that's what they said to do....?! But the SA I don't know what to do. Period sex grosses is both out!! Xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/05/2021 12:21

@ElsieG3m zita west is a reputable brand! If it's your day 3s then that's defo right and needs to be done whilst on. With the SA, just leave Dh to himself and problem solved!

KatRee · 04/05/2021 13:04

CD1 here too. Was mentally prepared after BFN on Friday. Feeling the pressure for this month though as OH will be going away in June (family are abroad and he's not seen them in nearly a year) and I think in might mean missing two whole cycles 😩
@ElsieG3m I moved from pregnacare to the Zita wear ones- I feel like Zw are a lot easier on the stomach and they dont delay my ov like pregnacare seemed to

baabiee · 04/05/2021 13:11

I need help! I've been using the clear blue advanced ovulation test and the advanced digital side by side and the Flo app which is great!
The advanced gave me my peak on the 30th of April however the connected gave me my peak today? Which do I believe I'm so so confused😭

ElsieG3m · 04/05/2021 13:25

@KatRee thanks so much! I don't think my cycle has changed (regularly around 29 days + or - 2) but I feel I may have a short luteal phase. This month I seem to have ovulated on day 19/20 but then period arrived on day 28 leaving only 8 or 9 days for implantation which seems short?! Could the supplements have done that? And if I do have a shirt luteal phase is there anything I can do to lengthen it? Xx

spttc · 04/05/2021 13:30

@baabiee How long is your cycle? I'd keep trying if it happened to me to cover my bases.

baabiee · 04/05/2021 13:36

@spttc honestly I'm not sure! It's the first cycle I'm actually tracking everything. Before it was just if it happens it happens 🙈

spttc · 04/05/2021 13:43

@baabiee in that case.....I'd keep trying for the next few days 😂🙈 Ul be absolutely kicking yourself if you don't and end up with AF or a negative! I'd absolutely follow what that's saying and keep going 💯 Best of luck, everything crossed for you

KatRee · 04/05/2021 13:47

@ElsieG3m Hmmm, I'm not sure tbh- with me they definitely seemed to lengthen my follicular phase and my luteal phase generally seems to be about the same length. I have heard that there are things you can do to lengthen the luteal phase though- I think vitamin B complex is supposed to help, although there are quite a lot of b vits in the multi vits, some people take them separately. I think I've seen some thread on hear recently about lengthening luteal phase x

Noodella18 · 04/05/2021 13:55

@ElsieG3m thanks lovely, sounds like we're very similar - I'm also 37 with a 2 year old conceived on second cycle, and moving into cycle 3. No tests yet, not even come up in conversation as it's only been a couple of months, and my partner is a gp so there's no way he would entertain the idea until six months (that's what the nice guidelines lay out and he practices what he preaches). Ah jusrlt read your later message, no need to be sorry! Totally makes sense to get a checkup at the start to make sure everything is working well! Where are you having your fertility MOT? Is that a private thing? Sorry the pregnacare has been messing you up - hope the new supps are better. My ovulation has been delayed by supps the last 2 months, hoping that it gets back to normal with just FA and vit D this month (34 day cycle last time 🙈)

@spttc yeah new regime is vaguely like SMEP, the only problem is that the supps have been messing with my cycle so I didn't ov until day 21 last cycle and it was totally knackering to do it every other day up until then. I consistently get ewcm for 4 days before my peak so only starting the every other day shagging then means it will be a bit less exhausting!

@katree sorry you're out too. Fingers crossed for this month.

Eiremogra · 04/05/2021 13:59

Hi all, received my AMH results today in the post - and it’s not good! Reading is low at 0.5 and I therefore don’t meet the criteria for NHS funded treatment/IVF. Have any of you been in this situation? I have made an appointment this month to discuss self funding options at the conception unit. Am I being ridiculous? Do you think there’s still hope? I’ve had a horrible time recently and had the worst HSG experience, bled for a week after it and the pain was unbearable. I’m just hoping my luck can’t be this bad?!! Please give me your honest opinions ladies - should I give up?xx

Noodella18 · 04/05/2021 14:01

@katree @elsieg3m just be careful with the vit b complex; works fine for some people but I've read lots of reports of it delaying or even preventing ovulation in some people. My ov was mega delayed this month and I was getting weird high LH readings but not peak, almost like my body was trying to ov but not getting there. Perhaps one to try for a cycle but stop if your ov doesn't come as expected!

spttc · 04/05/2021 14:07

Sorry to hear that @Eiremogra! I don't think it's a reason to give up. Are you taking supplements? I'd get on 600mg ubiquinol per day immediately if you aren't. These improve egg quality- so the eggs you do have left will be top quality! A friend of mine had very low Amh, I don't know the exact level but low. She got pregnant (twice).

Eiremogra · 04/05/2021 14:11

Thank you @spttc - I’m currently taking ubiquinone 400mg daily. I’ll increase the dose to 600mg xx
