@ImpatientTTCer I’m now on a ridiculous amount of supplements. I counted and it’s 14 pills a day! I have to write it out because it’s so confusing. Going to purchase some pill boxes!

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 08:41

@Geriatric1234 - I'm so very sorry for your loss and I hope you have a positive outcome very soon. Have you been TTC for long? Do you take any supplements, chart and use OPKs?

I've booked an appointment with a fertility clinic to get some tests done as I'd rather not keep going and then find out there was a 'fixable' issue in 6 months' time. I'm just finding it too heartbreaking going through the TWW and then crashing through my period each month. My guess is age is not on our side as we've tried so much harder than when TTC my daughter 3 years ago when we barely dtd. I have 28-29 day cycles but seem to ovulate around day 19/20 though not 100% on this.

Been in floods of tears this morning because, prat that I am, I pee'd on a stick at 6DPO as last night I got a nosebleed and nausea and thought there might be a chance. My charts have also been weird - rose a tiny bit post ov, then flatlined for three days, dipped, then rose a bit again today. Weird as normally I'm like a boiler by this point. Obviously test was negative and I have usual signs of period coming. What's wrong with me?! 😂

I think it's mostly guilt of my daughter having no siblings that's putting the pressure on. She is our world and we don't need to have more for our sakes, it's for her really.

@M4v3r1ck - so exciting! How are you feeling? How long were you TTC if you don't mind my asking? And is this baby #1? Did you add those supplements to pregnacare or take pregnacare separately? Saw someone said pregnacare messes up their OV so not sure whether to stop and just take supplements on their own.

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 09:06

@ElsieG3m Thank you :-) Only a few months and I won’t carry on beyond the end of the year (latest).

I don’t chart temps because I’m a lifelong insomniac so I toss and turn far too much for that to be reliable. And I’m far too disorganised to do that consistently! I do use OPKs which I find v useful as I’m an early ovulator.

I take all supplements recommended in the book I mentioned- pre-natal/ubiquinol/d3 etc.

6dpo is very early to test, even on a frer. You can’t consider that result reliable at all. Give it at least 3/4 days and retest. X

M4v3r1ck · 29/04/2021 09:21

@Misty84 oh my goodness, I couldn't keep track! 🙃 are you coming to FW soon?

@ElsieG3m as @Geriatric1234 says, 6dpo is too early, and in fact implantation might not have even occurred! I've been TTC#1 since end of May 2020. I got pregnant in Oct, but sadly ended in a MMC during Christmas period. This time my BFP has come 3 cycles post-MC! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 it's a healthy sticky BFP!

@Geriatric1234 hope you're going ok? Where are you at cycle wise?

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 09:28

@M4v3r1ck ah that's amazing! I conceived our daughter a couple of months after a MC and I always believed that you're more fertile and likely to have a healthy pregnancy in the 6 months after a pregnancy/MC. Loads of luck 😊

Thanks so much re BFN but I get this telltale sign of my period coming about a week before (due early next week) where I have cold, wet feeling down below (sorry tmi!). Think it's something to do with your body shedding water first before period. Only time I got it when it wasn't my period was during pregnancy with my daughter when I was 6 weeks preg. Turned out it was the mucus plug forming but I was convinced I was MC again and was running to loo every 5 mins!

AnxiousWannabe · 29/04/2021 09:32

@M4v3r1ck congratulations!!!!!!
Enjoy your next 9 months!!!!!!!

AnxiousWannabe · 29/04/2021 09:38

Having a missed period makes ovulation tracking so much trickier! My app is all over the place now

got2be · 29/04/2021 09:43

@selina37 hi noticed your post said you’ve been ttc for 11.5y I’ve been trying 10. I’ve been diagnosed as unexplained... hbu? Maybe we could put our heads together and discuss things we’ve tried over the years, symptoms results and see if we could get to the bottom of out ttc difficulties. 2 heads better then 1 😊
Saying that tho I’m not aware of your back story and you may already have a diagnosis x

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 10:03

For everyone on here just wanted to share that I had acupuncture after second MC. No idea if it helped but I did then have successful pregnancy two months after starting. If nothing else, it helped me feel in control and poss relax a bit (not a v chilled person as you can prob tell!). May be one worth adding in to the mix of things to try if you're open to it x

Misty84 · 29/04/2021 10:29

Congratulations @M4v3r1ck! No I’m not in the fw yet, another week to go!

@selina37 and @got2be Am I right in reading that you’ve been trying for 11.5 and 10 yrs?! No previous children? I’m so sorry...I can’t even imagine🥺

@ElsieG3m Thanks for the acupuncture recommendation, did you have regular or electro acupuncture? I unwittingly tried the latter and didn’t find it very relaxing! 🙈

Noodella18 · 29/04/2021 10:31

@M4v3r1ck yes I think you're right re BBT. I wanted to do it to check I was actually ovulating and also make me slightly less mental in the TWW but I don't actually think it's sensible to do it when I am woken up min.2 x per night.

@MgW1 urgh it's so annoying! I cannot believe I dicked about with vitamins and have messed up my cycle as a result!! I hadn't heard that about the deteriorating egg thing either :( Oh well, I guess if this cycle isn't a winner at least I know for next cycle not to take anything other than FA and VitD.

@thislittlebird longer post a bit further down, but essentially I had peak OPK on CD20 and according to my temps I ovulated same day. I then realised that CD21 onwards I had taken my temps at random times, and after I recalculated them to the correct time using a converter, it puts my ovulation at CD23 as I saw a really big jump at CD24. But I don't think that's really possible if peak LH was CD20. But my sleep is always broken because of toddler, so I don't think BBT is really good for me to use! I'm going to estimate CD22 for ovulation and work off that - 8 DPO today!

@ImpatientTTCer I had already broken the testing seal. because I thought I was 9DPO yesterday and used a FRER!!!!! URGH! I am going to test with cheapy strips because I have approx. 8 million of them so why not, but will test with a FRER on Saturday, 10DPO. The most annoying thing is that I've been feeling so crap and half thought it was because I might be preggo, but actually it must just be because I'm feeling crap! It was bearable when I thought I might be pregs, but now I'm just pissed off!

got2be · 29/04/2021 10:32

@ElsieG3m i looked into alternative therapy last year i done 1 session of acupuncture an 1 of reflexology. decided on the ac and had about 4 sessions, but covid put a stop to it lol
was actually about to start reflexology again but now seeing your post makes me wonder even tho i needed up mc if bfp i got last year july had anything to do with ac. as it was the only one other than cp ive had in 10y.
how many sessions did you have? x

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 10:36

@Misty84 I had regular acupuncture. She was amazing. I'm starting again next week. It was recommended to me for conception but my consultant neurologist at the National hospital for neurosurgery also said there's evidential basis for it helping with migraines etc as well so I am confident it's scientifically sound xx

MgW1 · 29/04/2021 10:38

@Noodella18
I think the seven seas are quite good and to be honest as soon as I stopped the other vits and had a period , it rectified itself 🤞🏻Now vit c is good for those with a short cycle and I took them because I had read it helps with increasing progesterone but it lengthened my cycle which I didnt need 🙄 so had to stop. So I just take the seven seas and 10mg vb6 ( even higher dose of b6 messed my cycle up 😂) xx

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 10:40

@Noodella18 sorry to jump on your thread but have you been using pregnacare/other supps?

I have been and wonder if it could be making me Ov late...? I seem to Ov on day 19/20 of 28 day cycle which seems a bit late!

Could be loads of things making it harder for me now but I recalled I only used vit d and FA when I was TTC three years ago and conceived my baby girl. I'm thinking I'll ditch the pregnacare and take standalone vits.

As an aside anyone know how reliable CB Digital OpK is? I've used it for first time this cycle and got 8 days of flashing smiley then static (ie lh surge) on day 19. But when I removed the test, the test line was weaker than control line and I thought positive OPK it should always be as dark or darker than control.

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 10:41

@M4v3r1ck I’m good thanks! Feel like this is the first “proper” try since MC tbh - work for past few months has meant my OH and I haven’t been in right place at right time (every other week he has his kids in a different house so when I’m not working I go with him) but I’ve been in 6-day working weeks since xmas and it’s been tricky.

Soooo I am now on CD 12. This month I got static smiley on CB opk on CD 10 so ovulation prolly yesterday or today. And we have DTD CDs 5/7/8/10/11 (obvs some of those were just for fun!). Was hoping to do today too but we won’t be together tonight as my poor dog isn’t well and has to go in for vet tests in the morning near my place - and as she is my first love and actual baby, she does take priority over my imaginary ones.Grin (Who knew a little rescue mutt from Serbia could steal your heart like this!?!)

So I guess I’m in the 2WW as of now! But feeling much more positive now my OH and I have established an end point and a bit of a routine with it all :-) xx

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 10:43

@got2be my acupuncturist said a 12 week (1 session p/w) is required to have full positive benefits for conception. For me, it was good just to step away from work, have that time to myself and focus on my body. I think it can't hurt (in fact convinced it only did good things for me) xx

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 10:44

@ElsieG3m I fell for the CB line thing too, but it’s not comparable to other tests as they measure different hormones. I use a cheap stick too for late-in-the-day pee, and CB for FMU. But you have to ignore the CB stick as those lines are measuring different things and therefore do t have to both be as dark.

got2be · 29/04/2021 10:46

@Misty84 thanks its secondary for me, ttc no1 with current partner.

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 10:47

@ElsieG3m also scroll up a little in this thread and you’ll see the chat about how we all have crazy different experiences with OPKs. This month I had zero flashing faces and went straight to static, and I’ve not had more than 2 flashing days in 5 months. My sister always has a minimum of 7 flashing days and as many as 10 (she is now pregnant!) so I think it’s really variable and nothing to worry about.

Geriatric1234 · 29/04/2021 10:49

@got2be I did 4 sessions of acupuncture (as acupuncturist recommended) and it blew my mind how much it helped my period pain! I was going to ttc reasons too and he said 4/5 sessions so it’s probably dependant on therapist too. X

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 10:50

@got2be ps I'm so sorry for your losses and the 10 year wait. That is heartbreaking. Have you had IVF? I know positive stories don't always help but my friend TTC for 10 years, had her little girl through ivf, was bf and then suddenly fell with healthy little boy. She tried every fertility clinic in the country I think. Now has 2 under 2 and a whole load of different worries 😂 another friend had just given up after years of trying and fell the month she decided it wasn't going to happen. I see so many stories like this and I think it makes them all the more special when they come along. I suffered a terrible stroke when TTC 3/4 years ago which has left me with permanent hearing disability, but I got my little girl and she is worth all the pain. Sending you loads of luck and best wishes xx

got2be · 29/04/2021 11:01

@ElsieG3m i get a lot of foot pain in 2ww an that was my sign when got bfp, so i thought to try reflexology and see if anything is picked up.
if not i will definitely try the ac again, i did not find it relaxing was half naked and very aware of needles but now thinking i can't rule out that the 4 sessions i did had didn't help.
looking back through notes i make i never even had a cp before ac now i'm having them regularly.

ElsieG3m · 29/04/2021 11:18

@Geriatric1234 ah ok that's super helpful re CB. I thought it was just the estrogen measurement that was diff not also the LH. Great that you've made a plan and hopefully you'll have some good news before the year is out 🤞🏻 Xx

got2be · 29/04/2021 11:19

@ElsieG3m thank you and wow re stroke reading things like that puts this ttc into perspective that being healthy is such a blessing. i'm so glad you and your little one came through it ok. x

ive not tried IVF yet, at first i didn't think there was a problem then 5 years in we started taking it more serious but gp wouldn't was a long process to even get referred 3y. now with NHS, 3 different gyne an lockdown ive being told its unexplained.
i do believe in the positive stories last year id had enough decided to stop wasn't trying then bfp but sadly didnt get far.
i think its like a jigsaw an there is one piece that needs finding x
