@Marvellouslymadmum
How are you doing? Have you heard about gynae apt yet? X

calamitykay · 28/04/2021 10:51

Hi ladies!
Hope it's ok to join I seem to be a bit late to the party. Typical of me!!

I'm 35 (soon tb 36). Decided at the beginning of the year to leave ttc in the hands of the gods with dp, but as the year is going on I'm getting more and more into things like charting etc.

As soon as I think I get my head around something, something weird pops up and I get more confused!

As for AF mine is 3 days and usually one day of spotting so I seem to be quite short. According to my apps and bbt I O around CD12 and have a 14 day LP but my temps never seem to be consistently high. As I said I'm still new to it all really but I think I have the fallback rise from what I have gathered.

Anyway good luck to you ladies, im keeping my fingers crossed for you all xx

M4v3r1ck · 28/04/2021 12:16

Hey ladies, so CD27 (around 13-14dpo) and that's my average cycle length, so decided to test! I'm not currently believing my own eyes! Torn between being ecstatic but panicking about another MC!

ElsieG3m · 28/04/2021 14:30

Hi All,

Hoping for a little guidance/support. TTC baby #2. Daughter is happy, healthy just turned 2 year old. On cycle 3 but already have signs AF is on her way. I've been pregnant 3 x aged 34/35 but two miscarriages and one successful, uncomplicated pregnancy. In my first pregnancy, I had a massive stroke due to blood clotting so I now take heparin during pregnancy to help. Last year when my daughter turned 1, I wanted to try again but husband wasn't quite ready then the pandemic hit and I was told to shield (due to Covid blood clot risk). We didn't know what to do re pregnancy so delayed pregnancy and I took a new job to try to reduce stress. However, things didn't work out (hated it!) and I came back to my old company in Jan, got my vaccine and now TTC properly. It's only been 3 months (I know, I know, I sound like a mad woman) but with the first 3, I conceived first or second month. Now feeling concerned we've left it too late and feeling all kinds of guilt for waiting instead of taking the risk of trying again last year. Daughter is now obsessed with babies and everyone is pregnant or having babies around me and I just 'feel' it might not happen for us. I've just turned 37, husband will be 44 in June. Anyone else in a similar position and had a good outcome? If so, what did you do to improve your odds? We don't smoke or drink, I'm charting and using OPKs but both of us have v stressful jobs and don't get enough sleep. I'm probably a bit heavier than I'd like to be but not overweight, I'm trying to jog a few times a week. Any pearls of wisdom v gratefully received!!

M4v3r1ck · 28/04/2021 15:32

Thank you so much, ladies! I'm so distracted at work now! 😍😍😍

To the other BFPers, I've rejoined the 35+ pregnancy group, so I'll share the link for you guys too! 😃

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for some more healthy sticky happy BFPs and pregnancies!

@ElsieG3m you've come to the right group! You're not too old and 3 months is not a long time, trust me! 😃 The main thing is that Most of us here have taken supplements during this TTC process. I've been taking folic acid, vit D, and ubiquinol. DH is on the same except folic acid!

@MgW1 I'm ok just in the tww with very little
Hope this month and no my doc decided to take a holiday so I've now got an appointment to speak to her on Tuesday, then hoping to get a different referal to a gynea with endometriosis specialist to get that checked! How are you doing today?

Hi @calamitykay welcome to the group

@M4v3r1ck oh my goodness congratulations!! So so happy for you 🤞🏻 for your sticky little bean

@ElsieG3m hi and welcome, honestly I wouldn't worry at all just yet! Most people get pregnant within a year ttc and that's without the age issue - I conceived twice no trouble with my teenagers in my twenties have been ttc this time just over 3 years am 42 different partner and have had 2mc and 2cp I would suggest you keep trying the next few months then if nothing by 6 months you can contact the docs and ask for tests to se wig everything is as it should be, are you both taking any suppliments or anything? I'm taking pregnacare conception, vit b complex, b6, c, d, e, magnesium, epo, folic acid uniquinol plus there's some other things I'm doing too and dp is on a load of suppliments too

MgW1 · 28/04/2021 16:28

@Marvellouslymadmum
Im fine today apart from a cold brewing!! Trying to take more laid back approach this month because we dtd loads last month and it made difference 🤪!!! Im looking at booking a night away in june - something to look forward to 😊 x

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:34

@MgW1 that's a good idea! We've barely dtd at all due to oh not feeling great which is very annoying

MgW1 · 28/04/2021 16:37

@Marvellouslymadmum
Well maybe you need a night away too!
Fed up of being at home!!!

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:39

@MgW1 chance would be a fine thing! I may try and do something though

Noodella18 · 28/04/2021 16:47

YASSSSSSS @M4v3r1ck This is bloody EXCELLENT news! And such a good strong line too! Congratulations!

Thanks for the good luck too, but a little premature it would seem - I was reading a thread about how taking BBT at different times can cause real shifts and that there is a converter you can use to bring them back into line. Cue me spending an hour converting like 50% of mine (mainly from post-ovulation) and replotting them onto a fresh month in fertility friend. I had thought it was a bit odd that I had got a peak in the evening of CD20 and according to my temps I had ovulated same day. The recalculated temps put ovulation at CD23!!! Which is shit because a) it means I'm only 6DPO boooo and b) We might have missed two of the properly fertile days; had sex on 17, 19, 20 and 21 and left it at that because I thought I had ovulated. Obviously the recalculation isn't going to be 100% accurate, but the recalculated ov date does make more sense with the timing of the positive OPK, fertile mucous and also a really big jump in temp (which I noticed anyway despite the dodgy timings.)

So now I'm slightly in limbo, unsure how many dpo I am, when period is due and most importantly, when I should test!

charja100 · 28/04/2021 17:02

@ImpatientTTCer I'm am also just trying to not stress but it's so much easier said than done! We will get there and have our weddings and they will be wonderful regardless! I didn't buy my dress with a bump in mind but I suppose even though this is month #1TTC I never expected it would happen straight away. If it does I'll be super pleased and just praying I still fit in the dress!!!!

I'm using cheapy OPKs from fermometer and their app, can't justify CBS too expensive maybe a little further down the line I will change my mind. I don't really have any patterns as this is month 1.

Also - just went to the toilet and I have brown spotting - could it be implantation?? Seems way to early to be AF!

TTC 35+ Thread 9
ImpatientTTCer · 28/04/2021 17:04

@Noodella18 oooh....could you share a link to that thread please? I’m glad the recalculated temps fitted in better with everything else for you...but how frustrating!

charja100 · 28/04/2021 17:09

@M4v3r1ck huge congratulations on your BFP! 🎉✨💕

selina37 · 28/04/2021 17:14

@M4v3r1ck this is excellent news!! 🎉 Woohoo!

Hello to all newbies! I'm sorry I haven't read all the posts - this thread is hall full already! 😳

It's right to say that through our combined research and experience we've come up with a comprehensive list of supplements!

I'm on:

Vitamin B6 50mg
Vitamin B complex
Folic acid
Vits C, D, E
Ubiquinol 200 mg twice a day
Eating nuts!
Added Zinc today!

❗️Also - I take Vit E and ubiquinol with a little fat to help it absorb!

On Monday/Tuesday I started spotting and bleeding! I'm only on CD13! It's very strange and I'm a bit concerned and a bit hopeful at the same time - this is just like what I had with my son! Il convinced I had a 5-day implantation bleed with him.
However, this would mean I ovulated super early! This 'period' is not like a normal one for me though. It's already lasted a bit longer and is more watery.

Who am I kidding?! Probably just a blip for me! If anything at least I feel my body is having a super clearout!

ElsieG3m · 28/04/2021 17:26

@M4v3r1ck thank you and I gather congratulations are in order?! That's really really wonderful news!! 😊 sorry for the ignorance but what is ubiquinol? I take pregnancare for conception and a very high dose of vit d and aspirin for blood clotting.
I wouldn't be worried at all if it hadn't seemed so easy three years ago. Added to the pressure is my sister just had her second (gorgeous baby girl) at 39.5 after one cycle (her husband is 37 though). Obvs delighted for her but have all the pressure of my Mum telling me oh well quick conception happens in our family doesn't it?! She meant well but it's added to my sense that something is wrong. Question I probably don't want to know the answer to: can 3 years (since I conceived my little girl) really make that much of a difference or is it worth getting some advice just now? We are in the lucky position that we can go privately for tests if needed and don't know if anyone has done this early in their journey just to take control a bit (massive self-confessed control freak here!). One last q: my husband works with laptop on his lap for a few hours every night. I read that can kill sperm but he thinks I'm being overly anxious (def likely!). Anyone know if this is actually true from experience not googling?! xx
