Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'll stick around a bit if that's ok, won't relax until after I book an early scan and probably not then until later one/s! Also agreed it is silly to worry about a few pints over a few days... will have to work on the unavoidable work/life stresses.

@Misty84 so sorry, I was really rooting for you. I hope things can get moving on the IVF front quickly. Although an anecdotal positive story, my friend tried unsuccessfully for 2 years and conceived her son on the 25th month of trying. Just keep at it while you wait for everything to happen on the appointments etc

So sorry to those with BFN.

@Noodella18 good luck!

@AnxiousWannabe that's so frustrating. I have read multiple times on boards like this of people skipping a period. It always seems to be when people are TTC but then, only people TTC post on these boards haha. Maybe just go on things like CM to judge when you may ovulate next time as you must not have done so if your period hasn't come.

stegfletch · 27/04/2021 13:36

@Geriatric1234 A little bit broken today to be honest and AF has shown her face too. Will give it a couple of days as emotions running high today, but definitely need to figure some things out. Thanks for the group guys, nice to feel the support of others in similar situations x

spttc · 27/04/2021 13:44

@Geriatric1234 yeh that's a strange one. So you had like 2 days of O and then straight to static smiley. I don't think it means anything bad. I wouldn't worry. I find the clearblue a bit dodgy. I had an incident with it when I missed a day of testing on clear blue. So I tested, day 10,11,12 forgot on 13, then tested on 14 and it came up as O but I knew it should be static smiley as I had a BLAZING positive on an opk strip. So I did another clear blue test with the same urine as I got the O and it gave me static smiley. It seems to gather your baseline through the days/count tests and base it off that. It's a bit weird I'd get an O and a static smile with the same urine 5 mins apart.

Geriatric1234 · 27/04/2021 13:46

@KatRee Thank you! Yes - I worried about the egg but then so many forums say it’s a positive thing as you really don’t want a short LP. Last month I only had one flashing smiley too, so I guess I’m learning we just have to get jiggy straight after AF departs!

Please share what the consultant says as I’d be interested to hear :-) xx

Misty84 · 27/04/2021 13:49

Thank you @Pamparam, I always like hearing stories like that!

@Geriatric1234 I gave up with CB as it started messing up for me so I just use cheap opks now. Found it too stressful!

Noodella18 · 27/04/2021 14:46

@Geriatric1234 @katree the clear blue tests freak me out a bit. I tested twice one cycle, a day apart and the second one it gave me a solid smiley, but the line inside wasn't even nearly positive and neither was the cheapy. That solid smiley would hang around for 2 days then, but I really don't think it showed that I was surging, the cheapy was only at 60% and actually I didn't ever get a stick which was over 100% (compared with this month where I have had one up at 180%) I know they say you shouldn't look at the stick, but personally i think that's marketing. I think they are a common or garden opk which just has a fancy reader gizmo. That's my thoughts on the pink one anyway, I think the purple one is more advanced.

M4v3r1ck · 27/04/2021 14:48

Hey ladies, bit swamped atm so only quickly reading!

Welcome to newbies! 😃

Omg amazing news @Pamparam 😍😍😍 I hope this is a healthy sticky BFP!

Really Sorry re: the BFNs! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 soon!

@Geriatric1234 funny you mention that! This cycle i only had one flashing on CB before a peak, then last cycle is was two flashing before a peak? I know for some women, the LH surge/onset is rapid, so hopefully it's just that! Just means we need to be prepped! 😈😈😈

@Kitekat81 how are you doing cycle buddy? CD26 here for me and around 12-13dpo! Who else is testing soon? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Henslovetoscratch · 27/04/2021 15:04

@Geriatric1234 I haven't had this with CB but the more I read about them the more I think maybe there is more to learn!!! I have similar cycle length to you (although had only 26 days last cycle!) and usual get ovulation predicted around day 12. I'm sure I read that as long as luteal phase was long enough the follicular could be shorter? But I am only a Google expert.... Have no real clue about any of this!
Good luck folks whatever stage you are in! Approaching fertile window here....

Kitekat81 · 27/04/2021 15:22

@M4v3r1ck ooh hi cycle buddy! I am also cd26, 11dpo and due on Thursday, are you the same? I have zero hope for myself, but everything crossed for you! 🤞🤞🤞

@Geriatric1234 I have a rapid surge as well! My premom app says that 42.9% have rapid onset for their LH surge, and 57.1% have gradual onset, so it's completely normal!

KatRee · 27/04/2021 15:48

@Geriatric1234 yeah, definitely get the impression that a short literal phase is more of a thing than a short follicular phase, but will ask consultant and let you know what they think. Hoping they'll actually have some insight and not just try to sell ivf to me- all the info they've sent ahead of the appointment seems very geared towards that

@Noodella18 I agree the pink cb OPKs are just cheapo sticks in fancy packaging- I started off with them though as had no experience with the sticks and were definitely easy for a beginner. The purple ones detect estrogen as well which I wanted to measure as I was getting the fear that I don't have an estrogen surge-even though I don't think you can have an LH surge without an estrogen surge first! Anyway, they reassured me I do have an estrogen surge, but made me worry it's too short! 😩 I feel like ttc is basically all about replacing one stress-inducing thought with another!

AnxiousWannabe · 27/04/2021 17:24

@gigchic
Thanks! I will try my GP today!

@Marvellouslymadmum
I don't know tbh we did not discuss this. But I did my amh testing and it's ok and hopefully not the dreadful M. I asked the fertility doc and he did advise me to do a progesterone testing but on cd21 of my next cycle ! What if I don't get a next cycle right...

Geriatric1234 · 27/04/2021 17:42

@stegfletch I know, it's rubbish. I'm sorry. Have a glass of wine and chill and then get ready for a good vent and another cycle!

@spttc @Noodella18 @Misty84 Ohhh - that's interesting intel ladies - thank you. Yeah, I'm struggling to believe they're as accurate as everyone makes out, though I double checked today with a boots line OPK and it does seem to be saying I'm around ovulation. I'll try and chill and just assume I'm an early ovulator! This would be more consistent with my EWCM to be fair as that starts immediately on finishing AF. Next month I'll try with cheapies too and compare - the upside is I am only using about 3/4 sticks each month with CB so one pack is lasting a long time!! ;-D xxx

@M4v3r1ck @KatRee @Kitekat81 So basically we are the sergers and it's normal? Okay - PHEW! My sister always had about 8/9 O and 1-2 flashing before static so she had a short LP, but she was also my only point of reference so I am muchos calmed! Thank you! You guys are so much more helpful than Dr Google who starts every post with PANIC PANIC!! lolol xx

Geriatric1234 · 27/04/2021 17:45

@Henslovetoscratch Yes - okay - calming down! My free app always said Ov around day 14 but now I guess it's just a little earlier and that is a-okay!

closes laptop on Dr google for itv least 5 minutes!

Noodella18 · 27/04/2021 18:34

@M4v3r1ck @kitekat81 I'm impressed with your willpower! When are you planning to test? And do you have an inkling either way - why are you so sure you're out kitekat?

I'm 9dpo tomorrow and will be testing with a cheapy and then with a frer on thurs. Period is due on Sunday. I've been feeling pretty crap the last few days, knackered and with a sore throat and a bit dizzy and sick. My partner and toddler have been low grade ill the last couple of weeks so it's probably just that, but I did feel like I was fighting something off before I got my bfp for my daughter.

Henslovetoscratch · 27/04/2021 18:40

@Geriatric1234 Hahahhahaha....Dr Google is so good but so bad!!!!

charja100 · 27/04/2021 19:43

@ImpatientTTCer
It is so close and I am so not ready! Its planned abroad! We've rescheduled from September last year to this June - we didn't know back in may last year the vivid madness would still be going on though!

Honestly it's giving me so much stress that I'm almost not expecting to conceive but I have a history of cervical issues so we wanted to start trying as soon as we could in case we needed to get help with conceiving.

I've done OPK and BBT testing this month - all for the first time as this is my first month TTC. It's all very new and I'm getting my head round it still tbh! I'm still taking pregnacare and I don't plan to stop as also think I need the nutrients. I also have three more boxes as they were on offer in Tesco's so 🤷‍♀️😂

I'm so confused as to when I ovulated this month. My apps have moved my ovulation date like three times. It was supposed to be on the 19/20. Then they told me it was the 25/26 and now today after my BBT they moved it back to the 23rd so who bloody knows. I can't even guess at how many DPO I am right now. 😫

MgW1 · 27/04/2021 19:45

@stegfletch
Ahhh crap 🤨
Is your AF still late as well?

MgW1 · 27/04/2021 19:48

Is there any ladies on here who have had a mc and are taking aspirin with regular vits? Dont know whether to give it a bash or not x

MgW1 · 27/04/2021 19:49

Are 😂

spttc · 27/04/2021 20:11

@MgW1 I Havnt had a MC but I'm taking low dose anyway. And I'm just favoring aspirin over paracetamol these days for usual pain relief when I need it. Can't hurt

thislittlebird · 27/04/2021 21:37

@AnxiousWannabe if it's just late/skipped you will get it, don't worry. I would bet you've just stressed your period away, and I say this as another anxious person whose periods are effected by ttc stress.

Stress has a lot to answer for, especially with ttc.

Did you have an AFC count as well as AMH test?

02Carol · 27/04/2021 22:22

MgW1

Not me personally, but my sister had 2 MC, on her 3rd pregnancy, the only thing she did different was take a baby aspirin from the day she got a BFP, she gave birth to healthy boy a month before her 40th, he's now 18 months.

MgW1 · 27/04/2021 22:30

@02Carol
I might give it a go and see if it helps , it cant do any harm to know if anyone knows of someone it heloed so thank u.x

ImpatientTTCer · 28/04/2021 07:27

@charja100 oh nooo! I can imagine the wedding stress- mine is bad enough being in the U.K. in August! Not knowing how many people we’ll be allowed, not knowing if overseas family will be able to travel (and won’t know until probably late June)...which of course affects the other people we can invite - or not - and therefore the food, wine, invitation printing.....! I’m just trying to go with it. Rather optimistically I even bought my dress hoping I’d have the tiniest of bumps (3 months) but let’s see what fate has in store for that.

Have you put the BBT on a chart? I think I’m getting pretty good at reading them if you wanted to post it! Even without my full LH positive I’ve decided that one of my apps is correct and the others are maybe 1-2 days off. No CM this month, but my usual awful ovulation pain is like a flashing neon light telling me when it’s happening, and the temp rise confirms it!

Which OPK did you use? I bought cheapies from Amazon but most people here seem to use CB (but argh so expensive!) - did you see any type of pattern?

(Also love that you bought it on offer in Tesco- I did the same in Holland & Barrett. Buy one get one half price....ended up with four boxes 😂)

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 10:32

@Geriatric1234 I don't think it's anything bad if you ovulate early or have a sharp rise in Lh, from all my research it only makes a difference if your Lp is short or changes (like mine 🙄) but ov day can be anywhere. I had just one flasher before my static last month too it seems to change each month! Month before was 7flashers and this month 3 🤷🏼‍♀️

@MgW1 I'm not taking aspirin (just everything else 😂) but I'm asthmatic amd was told years ago it's not good for asthma

@AnxiousWannabe ive had 2 missed af since ttc they do eventually arrive!
