14** or 15dpo... Not 24 🤦🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 24/04/2021 22:00

@Misty84 that’s good. I saw someone recommended on mn and she then recommended the urologist on her profile and I thought she seemed like a good shout since she was happy to tag in a urologist, but reading their profiles for specifics is a good plan, I should do that.

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/04/2021 22:01

@VixFromThe6ix I think the longer you're ttc the less you test early! That's what it's been like for me anyway, the bfn are too disappointing and it's stops me getting my hopes up a little lol

MgW1 · 24/04/2021 22:52

@VixFromThe6ix
I know how you feel. I feel like my body needs a kick start , its crap. Fortunately got my appointment shortly so i feel positive this month regardless (99%sure im out) also got a smear test booked so ideally want that out the way xx

Misty84 · 25/04/2021 06:32

@VixFromThe6ix Sounds like this has been very confusing and a real headf*ck for you! Hope you get some clarity today.

@thislittlebird We’ve got a 22 page medical/fertility questionnaire to fill out before our consultation, so it’s certainly thorough! I’ve got that in just under 2 weeks, after my HyCoSy with the NHS.

@MgW1 It’s good you’re getting things done, helps us feel a bit more in control! This is such a hard process.

Geriatric1234 · 25/04/2021 10:40

@Eiremogra Hello! Nice to meet you! What’s an HSG? I think any of us starting at this age are still filling in the gaps in our knowledge - there’s so much to learn!!!!

So, in my opinion - which I’ve been very vocal about so some people will be sick of hearing this - unless you’re going for IVF (which most of us over 40 are not because it’s such a low success rate) AMH is kinda irrelevant and not something to stress about. It’s just an indication of how many eggs you have left and over 40 as long as you’re AMH is over 1, that means we are still fertile and ovulation is still probably occurring because you still have eggs. At 42 the range could be 0.7-12 ish so at 6.3 I’m bang in the middle (I think the range fir 40-44 is 0.7-21 but there’s a rapid decline in that age range so it’s a bit deceptive). But again, I’m always telling the story of my sister who is now 12 weeks pregnant and she’s post-chemotherapy for breast cancer and her AMH was 3.2 at 38. So it’s far less important than follicle count and other mitigating factors such as weight/overall health. Basically, don’t stress about it. It will be low because if your age and there’s nothing you can do about it, but as long as it’s not 0 you are still fertile. It doesn’t give any information about egg quality. It’s been made into a big deal by IVF clinics (and for them it is a big deal) but if you’re going au naturel it just has to be not zero. That means you’re still in the game!

Over 40 this is just a question of keeping going until you get a good egg. Which you will. Mother Nature is in charge here! 👍🏼

Have you had thyroid/vit d tests done? X

Geriatric1234 · 25/04/2021 10:45

@Noodella18 I freaking LOVE your stealth dosing your OH 🤣 You’re like the opposite of a black widow who is poisoning to kill...more of a nutritional Mary poppins giving someone she loves vitamins without them knowing so they wake up feeling GREAT and 😈 🤣

Hi @charja100 ohhhhh wine is my first love. 🤣 Nice to e-meet you!

@spttc I’m not taking aspirin! Omggggg I missed a thing! rifles through medicine drawer for aspirin 🤣 Sooooo fun this ttc malarkey innit?! 🤣

Geriatric1234 · 25/04/2021 10:48

@VixFromThe6ix I agree with @Marvellouslymadmum - you just stop testing early as this journey progresses. I only test early if I think I’m going to struggle declining a glass of alcohol now, which is so illogical because as @Gummybear17 proved with those tests, you can get a BFN before a BFP anyway. Urgh!

spttc · 25/04/2021 11:06

Cycle day 1 for me 🙃🤦🏻‍♀️ On to month 4

thislittlebird · 25/04/2021 11:06

@Misty84 from the lister? Huh, that’s a lot of pages. As soon as we speak to the nhs in may I’m going to plough ahead with it all.

I’ve sent my complaint/concerns to PALS last night and I emailed the private urologist (Mr Ramsay) secretary for an appointment for DH.

thislittlebird · 25/04/2021 11:08

Oh, side note. First month taking B6 from after AF and I just tested for the first time and it was “low” on cd 15. Soooo not sure what that means. Usually I’m high around now and I’m on these antibiotics so I have no idea if I’m ovulating soon/have ovulated already/won’t be ovulating at all. The antibiotics will be done in four days, maybe it’ll all go back to normal soon.

Sleeeeeepy · 25/04/2021 11:39

@Marvellouslymadmum I still test early and I'm ttc#3 and am a year in 😂

MgW1 · 25/04/2021 12:32

@Sleeeeeepy
We are ttc #3 too. Had the faintest positive and now negative so think it was a failed attempt. We will carry on trying 🤞🏻😬 x

thislittlebird · 25/04/2021 12:53

I think knowing you can get pregnant if you have kids already must help a little with testing? I dunno, @Marvellouslymadmum might disagree.

For me testing is a constant reminder of my infertility. I have never had a bfp and I can’t even look at the stupid white window because it feels like I’ll never see the line I want to see, just more blank white window of failure. Testing is really a horrible and stressful experience for me.

Sometimes I find ovulation testing stressful too. When it’s not doing what I expect mostly and I don’t know what it will show me, but not on the same level of pregnancy testing at all.

charja100 · 25/04/2021 13:24

@spttc wishing you a successful cycle 4. With the SMEP maybe this will be the one! Keep me updated!

My LH tests said I was still surging yesterday morning the line was double the strength of the control line and then lightened but was still high last night. LH surge over and dropped this morning but still there. I jumped on my OH when he got in from being away from work. So pleased we've kept up the DTD every other day now.

Now is a waiting game for me I suppose. Still not 💯 sure when I have ovulated. I am BBT and I did see a rose yesterday morning and temp remained the same today. So I'm thinking I probably ovulated yesterday what do you think? This is all still so new to me every days a school day. I don't know how I would keep up DTD every other day month after month I'm bloody exhausted! 😂

How do you do it ladies? Share your knowledge!

spttc · 25/04/2021 13:53

Thanks @charja100 🤞🤞🤞 LH surge signals you'll ovulate in the next 24-48 hours right? Then egg survives 12 hours ish? I think. So I do think you're still in the game. On the SMEP you DTD 3 days running starting on day of LH surge. I know you couldn't yesterday but you did today, and should do tomorrow, then wait 1 day and then do it again. If I was you I'd definately DTD Monday, and Wednesday! Everything crossed for you!

Sleeeeeepy · 25/04/2021 13:57

Bleeding has stopped again. So weird, it was like a full on period for a day. I've decided to come off all the supplements I've been taking and see if that helps or makes it worse, on the bright side at least it wasn't a 13 day cycle! Hope you're having good Sundays x

charja100 · 25/04/2021 14:08

@spttc is there any chance the one day of bleeding was implantation. Seems really strange to just bleed for one day.

Thank you for the advice will try and get OH to DTD tomorrow too. Worrying he's going to get fatigue or start feeling pressure though! 🤣

spttc · 25/04/2021 14:11

@charja100 😂😂😂 I just said to my husband "I'm just on the Internet advising a lady Iv never met to have sex tomorrow" 😂😂 oh the joys of ttc 😅

charja100 · 25/04/2021 14:18

@spttc I know it's so strange! I'm still getting used to it, but I'm so grateful for the advice and support I've received from the thread so far

Marvellouslymadmum · 25/04/2021 15:33

@thislittlebird I think it would probably help having children already with the testing if they were more recent children lol. I find the same, that staring at those stark white tests are just a big fat up yours and a reminder that nothing is happening! What's infuriating to me is that I know separately we both managed to have children but together and 14.5 years on it's just not happening for us and I'm so beyond frustrated with it!

For reference our teens are 13.6,14.7,15&16.4 so my last successful pregnancy was conceived almost 16 years ago and his with his ex was 14.5 years ago

Eiremogra · 25/04/2021 21:04

@Geriatric1234 thanks so much for explaining that to me..really appreciate it! I had my AMH levels checked a week ago and the nurse said it may take 4-6 weeks to get the results back...so...we....wait.....!!!!
The HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is the examination of the uterus and Fallopian tubes to access for shape and any potential tube blockages under X-ray using a contrast dye...it’s hell on earth and the MOST pain I’ve ever felt! The good news is my tubes are clear so horayy for that...just waiting on the AMH results and then we go from there I guess x

MgW1 · 26/04/2021 08:46

Day 2 late AF and BFN 😭 least shops are open for retail therapy.... need a cheer up today x

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/04/2021 09:09

@MgW1 I'm sorry lovely, hope you get some answers soon x

gigchic · 26/04/2021 09:10

@MgW1 I'm also two days late but have spotting and suspect it's on it's way. Just don't normally spot before period starts. My periods have gone so weird since ttc. Have no idea why and it's annoying. Every month something different happens. I won't test until I'm sure I must be pregnant though. I don't have any symptoms so sure I'm not pregnant this cycle. Retail therapy sounds like a good plan! I did it yesterday!
