@kerrym87 I know, glad I know now 😞 I was diagnosed with pcos about 8 years ago now, sent home and told to loose weight but I was 19 so I didn't mind at the time, I went for my external and internal scan about 6 months ago and they said it was still consistent with the pcos but they weren't very large cysts, so hoping that's a good sign 🙄

Crazydoglady123 · 18/04/2021 18:39

@Motherofkittens28 so excited for you getting your dress 😍 I'm addicted to Say Yes To The Dress. I have been married (now divorced) but I didn't really have the excitement on that wedding. My oh jokes about proposing but if we do get married I feel like it be a totally different experience.

@Aimzie ruptured cysts are horrible (speaking from a lot of experience). The fluid they release irritate your insides causing the pain and bloating. Get some prune juice if you feel bloated. It's gross but it helps. I looked about 5 months pregnant when I had my 5 ruptured ones in January

MIW01 · 18/04/2021 18:49

Very exciting @Motherofkittens28 my fiancée proposed December 2019 but I expect wedding is a long, long way off for us especially if we're funding fertility stuff!

Motherofkittens28 · 18/04/2021 20:21

@Marvellouslymadmum that's great, seems like something that will be a big relief when it's all done!
@RobinRose @MIW01, we've been planning it since we got engaged in July 2019 so it feels like it's been a long time coming! Started ttc the following month expecting to have a little one at the wedding!

Motherofkittens28 · 18/04/2021 20:23

@Crazydoglady123 I watched a good few episodes of that to get me prepared for going dress shopping last year, it is addictive!

@Aimzie so sorry to hear that but at least you have some answers now!

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/04/2021 20:48

@Aimzie sounds horrible but at least you know what's going on now

@Motherofkittens28 it will be so nice to finally be free from that part of our lives!

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 08:13

@paintfairy it could be very much related!! Endo tends to affect bladder and or bowel as well. I only noticed how bad things were once coming off the pill. In recent months my period was horrendous and the discomfort after sex was every time. Defo worth making some noise about it at your appointments and if iui is not a success be good to get a lap before you start Ivf.
@Marvellouslymadmum exactly same as me!! I dismissed it thinking I didn't have it as my periods aren't heavy. It displays in so many ways! There's a Facebook group that you can both join to learn more about it. It's called endometriosis guidance and resource uk.
@Motherofkittens28 yay to getting your dress, how exciting!
@Aimzie ahh hope you're ok, what an ordeal you've been through!
@Crazydoglady123 hey lovely, how are you?

I broke my phone so on the iPad for now, it's Dh's so can't get WhatsApp downloaded, feel so lost lol! Hoping to get it fixed today.
Also, not sure if my periods started or still bleeding from the op, need to call the Ivf nurses if it's my period so I really hope it is! Was due on yesterday so it must be. Can't be pregnant as they did a dye test on my tubes so if anything was there that's been flushed away!

OP posts:
paintfairy · 19/04/2021 08:32

@notyetamumbuttrying I'll see what happens. But yes it may well be an issue. Although if tubes are open then I don't see why it should prevent you being able to conceive? Very frustrating.
Not good about the phone! I would be lost too!

Aimzie · 19/04/2021 08:44

@Crazydoglady123 thank you, I got cranberry juice but il get that today, it was so bad I thought it was my appendix about to explode, the painkillers and antibiotics are working now though thank god, I'm so miserable it's been such a horrible two months for me, feeling so down about it all, even considered going on bc and forgetting about it for the year, the OH was having none of it though, he said to think it over I'm still too emotional about it all lol

Juno231 · 19/04/2021 09:13

@paintfairy tubes could be open but there could be scarring on the ovaries themselves I think! So you could be ovulating without the egg making it into the tubes. Our team assistant's right ovary is stuck behind some scar tissue, only reason I know.

Juno231 · 19/04/2021 09:15

@notyetamumbuttrying I hope that's CD1 for you in that case!! How exciting to finally get started.

@Aimzie wow I had no clue cysts/pcos could do that. It helps clarify things a bit though at least I guess? In terms of the faint positives I mean.

Sorry I'm a bit quiet atm ladies, I just don't have much to report as we're not TTC this cycle. CD13 today so I could be ovulating today if anything like the last two cycles. Got my pre op assessment on Wed, covid swab on Sat and lap next Tuesday.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 09:19

@paintfairy yeah that's what confused me too but what @Juno231 said makes sense about the ovaries. I had 2 adhesions (scar tissue) on my right ovary so that could have been having an effect. I need a follow up call really, but I've been told to call the Ivf nurses on cd1, so sounds like I'm just being passed back. 🤷🏽‍♀️
Will be asking lots of questions and making a nuisance of myself so that hopefully I can speak to one of the surgeons. How are you both today?
@Aimzie you've had such a rough ride recently I'm not surprised you want to stop. Perhaps just a break from tracking etc would help.

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 09:21

@Juno231 cross posts, glad you're ok. My docs never said to abstain and I googled pregnancy and laps and it said it was ok so we cracked on, needn't have bothered! 😂

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 19/04/2021 09:32

@notyetamumbuttrying annoying about your phone! I cracked my screen a couple of weeks ago and keep forgetting I must call my insurance company and get it sorted 🙈 How are you feeling now? I've got my scan shortly and praying I can start stims as the buserelin is giving me loads headaches 😭

@Aimzie I think your OH is right, give yourself some time. I felt so bloody low when I had mine but I think the pain has a lot to answer for as it's really draining in itself. I couldn't sleep on my side as the pain was worse and I struggle to sleep on my back. Mine lasted about 2 weeks the pain and the bloating another week or two after to go down but I promise you it does get better. Also from when I had the scan showing the ruptured cysts to my next one (4 weeks later) they'd completely healed and disappeared. Just try and rest as much as you can. Have some gentle walks though as it helps disperse the fluid and bloating a bit

Juno231 · 19/04/2021 09:42

@Aimzie I agree with OH and if you do go down that route then skip the hormonal BCs just in case it messes with your body more. Eg a lot of the ladies on the post pill thread are taking months after the pill to have a semblance of a normal cycle.

@notyetamumbuttrying I feel like your lap was so recently though, surely you must have missed ovulation if today might be CD1? So don't beat yourself up over it. I'm intrigued to see if I get lucky post lap!

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 09:51

@Crazydoglady123 my screen is completely black. I can still receive calls etc but can't answer them 😣
Feel ok thanks, back at work and just remembered I have a 4pm meeting with a new client which I've already moved once before so not good form if I do it again, god help me 🙈
Best of luck with the scan hun!! ❤️

@Juno231 my cycles are only about 24 days so I ov cd10 or 11 so we did it before the lap and shouldn't have bothered lol! If this is my period then we'll defo be trying next week but then I wonder if the drugs will mess anything up as I have to start them on cd21. All questions for the nurses!

OP posts:
Motherofkittens28 · 19/04/2021 09:52

@Crazydoglady123 good luck for the scan today!

I think we are now in our first fertile week since the lap so going to try dtd as much as possible and hope for a miracle. I was worried my scratch would scupper this month but its booked for cycle day 16 so I don't reckon any potential embryo would have got to my uterus by that point to be disturbed. Fingers crossed!

Crazydoglady123 · 19/04/2021 09:56

@notyetamumbuttrying ah okay, you deffo need a new phone then 🤣 good luck with the meeting! If you are starting meds on cd21 you'd have to abstain from DTD this cycle. They won't let you start them if there's a risk you'd could be pregnant

paintfairy · 19/04/2021 10:10

@notyetamumbuttrying @Juno231 it would be unlucky for both to be stuck though? Actually my left one she struggled to count follicles on, during my last scan, because it was above somewhere or another. It'll be interesting to see if it moves (I know they do anyway). I suppose ivf should still work if that's the case. Maybe that's why some people only manage to conceive by ivf? Even though they never identify why?
Added to my stress this week is that I've broken a tooth. Badly. I've rang and they have given me Friday morning. Which is massively risky as by my reckoning it'll be insemination day. But I didn't want to say no and then it ended up being that I could go. So I've booked it anyway and I'm just going to have to cancel it (no doubt then go on a massive list) if I can't go. I'm not even sure at what point I'll know! 🙈 I've also had to pay up front (don't usually - nhs) so whether I'll get my money back? Ffs.

Juno231 · 19/04/2021 10:18

@notyetamumbuttrying omg before the lap! I hadn't realised lol. They'd cancel my lap if I did that! Good thing it didn't cause any trouble.

Sucks about your phone - I find it so traumatic picking a new one! That's why mine is 4 years old now lol.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 13:09

@Motherofkittens28 go on girl!! How long did it take for the brain fog to lift for you? I'm still a bit all over the place and it's 6 days post now 😣
@Crazydoglady123 have gone down to the phone repair ppl, he said he could do it for £50 so said yeah ok then! Ah ok, makes sense. I called the nurses and they wanted to check with the dr so I reckon he'll say it'll be next cd21 rather than this one. We'll get a natural go then at least! What times the scan?
@paintfairy yeah could be. Oh god you poor thing, sounds a stress you don't need! 😖
@Juno231 I thought they were gonna cancel it, she had to go check! No one told me though. I've been very ill informed through a lot of all this tbh.
I also find it traumatic lol, I'm still on an iphone8 as can't bear going through all the swapping over stuff 🙈

Crazydoglady123 · 19/04/2021 13:31

@notyetamumbuttrying that's a really good price! Ah okay, everything crossed it happens for you naturally this month 🤞

My scan went well. Lining is thin enough I can't start stims tomorrow 🙌 I do have a cyst still so they have warned it may grow with the stims but will cross that bridge if it happens.

Motherofkittens28 · 19/04/2021 13:56

Wonderful news @Crazydoglady123, exciting to get started!
@notyetamumbuttrying I think I felt more myself after about a week. I still have a foggy brain though three weeks on but that might not be related! I find myself calling things the wrong names!

VenusStarr · 19/04/2021 16:00

Great news @Crazydoglady123 I'm glad the cyst isn't going to impact on things (hope it doesn't get uncomfortable for you) how you feeling?

Sorry I've not posted much, as we're not ttc I haven't got much to say. I've got my nurses appointment tomorrow, so hoping I'll get more of an idea about timings and when I'll get my meds. I'm getting excited. I should be ovulating in the next few days, so not long now until we will start. Eek :)

Sorry about your tooth @paintfairy hope it's not too painful.

Hope everyone is OK xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/04/2021 17:03

@Crazydoglady123 I bet all he did was hold it down longer than me 😂 kidding!
Omg amazing news hun, yay! Can't they just remove the cyst?
@Motherofkittens28 ok so tomorrow I should feel more with it then. Looking forward to it as work is hard with a odd functioning brain 🤯 I gave someone the wrong number for our address today 😂 Dh looked at me like I was insane 🤪
@VenusStarr ooh tomorrow is good! Let us know what they say as that's what I'm waiting on now too. Best of luck! 🤞🏾
