@Aimzie I can't believe that's his first SA! We were both tested at the same time when we to the gp after 11 months of trying. So sorry to hear this but great he's getting another one so soon! Defo push for the urology referral as that'll take a few weeks to come through. My Dh got blood tests and a testes scan. He had a small cyst in the end but that was it. It's great that one slipped through as that means naturals still possible but I'd imagine they'd refer you for Ivf and do what's called a microtease to retrieve the sperm. This is all hypotheticals of course and just knowledge picked up from google when my Dh numbers were low. The fact that you had a cp means sperm is present. Good luck for the 6th! Here's hoping you have great egg reserves! Bless him for crying, it's such an emotional journey isn't it. Good reassuring from you x

@Aimzie so sorry to hear that! But as others have said surgical sperm removal is a possibility if his second sample isn't an improvement. There is hope and hopefully you would get fast tracked for ivf!

Crazydoglady123 · 28/04/2021 11:20

Morning ladies

@Aimzie sorry to hear about the SA. Sorry if you've posted already but is he on supplements or anything?

@notyetamumbuttrying no we cancelled planning the party when it was all up in the air if how long I'd have to stay on down regs for.

Just had my second stims scan and now have 18 follicles over 10mm so EC is booked in for Monday so at least OH won't have to jizz in a pot in his 30th although he'll have to do school runs in case I'm not feeling great the next day. Back in Friday for last stims scan. Feeling really nauseous today again which is apparently the hormones but I think it also feeling very real now isn't helping 😬

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 11:24

@Crazydoglady123 sometimes I think it would be a good idea to show the oh what we go through every day! I don't think mine is doing enough either though he has given up smoking which I think is the most positive one! Great that everything's going well for you!
@crazycatlady1981 how frustrating! I hate it when people have no urgency!
@Aimzie so sorry about oh sperm I have this exact fear with my oh! Aww I can imagine how hard it must be for him to hear that but could just have a blockage in a tube, I'm sure they'll find out for your
@thislittlebird I think my weight has always been helped by my job - from 2007 until the beginning of last year I've been a dance teacher, just part time 3 hours a week teaching plus choreographing at home, exams and performances but when I had to stop for lockdown it's the first time I've not been a bit active for fire er!

polejunkie · 28/04/2021 11:38

@Crazydoglady123 yay for big follicles and Monday isn’t too far away, eeeeek!! Out of interest what do those numbers look like compared to the original AFC? You must be happy with those numbers 🙂 hope the nausea subsides.

Crazydoglady123 · 28/04/2021 11:40

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum. Yes smoking is the best change he can do. Have you managed to get him on supplements too?

@polejunkie yeah I'm quite shocked. My AFC was 18. I have more than 18 follicles on the scan, just she told me 18 are over 10mm. My left ovary has moved back into the correct place too 🎉

polejunkie · 28/04/2021 11:44

@Crazydoglady123 Wow in that case those numbers are fantastic!! And woohoo the ovary returned from its vacay 😊 you must be feeling positive, great news all round! Could be lots of little eggies for you 🤞🏼

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 12:30

@Crazydoglady123 yes he's been taking the wellman conception, vit b complex, c, d, e, magnesium for a couple of months now and maca more recently

Excellent that your ovary has returned too!

Aimzie · 28/04/2021 12:55

I know, they waited so long to do his SA, so annoying but hopefully he can take something to help it,
@Crazydoglady123 that's great news for you ❤️ yeah he takes loads of supplements, he has for years so I might just look into different ones that improve production. Might get him on to concepcare or something too 😊 really hoping mine comes back okay, would hate for both of us to have something wrong 😭 I'd say it's very low for any chance of anything happening naturally for us now so maybe we will get started on ivf much sooner 😊

kerrym87 · 28/04/2021 13:49

So I've read a fair few things now that male fertility has been declining over the last 40 years they think influenced by increased weight of population, lack of activity and the levels of female hormones naturally in the water system from all ladies on birth control.....

got2be · 28/04/2021 13:49

hi all, this thread moves so fast i can't keep up. gonna have a read through.
did anyone who suspects endo get anywhere with gp?
mine said as I'm with gyne already they cant do anything and to bring it up in next appointment. so a waiting game for me.!

also just wondering about progesterone day 21. mine are always around 40-45. i know that enough for ovulation but do you think its high enough to sustain a pregnancy?

Annny27 · 28/04/2021 13:54

@got2be that deffo high enough ! Over 30 is what they look for. Mine was 60 something

And yes they said they same to me about endo and that I am already under gynae with fertility
At my next appointment they spotted cysts on my scan and are now referring me to the laproscopy for the diagnosis!

@kerrym87 crazy isnt it about the water and birth control! Hormones cna impact so much.

thislittlebird · 28/04/2021 15:04

Also plastics @kerrym87. I watched this last week:

news.sky.com/story/spermageddon-could-men-be-infertile-by-2045-12267743

This was also a great listen (by the urologist I’m trying to book with):

www.thefertilitypodcast.com/rich/

@Aimzie you said he’s very healthy and works out a lot, does he use protein shakes/products?

Awww, I bet he was so upset. My DH’a wasn’t as bad as that but I know he took it hard. Men are 50% of infertility cases so we should be talking about it all more.

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah I’m nowhere near that active. Office job and now I’m sat at home all week. But I’ll get more active soon, I have to, weighed myself today and I’m at my highest ever. Need an intervention 😔

thislittlebird · 28/04/2021 15:17

@got2be 40 is fine, mine is 10 so I’ve done lots of reading on here about low progesterone and women get pregnant with much much lower numbers than 40. I think they only worry it’s under 20.

Aimzie · 28/04/2021 15:45

@thislittlebird yes actually 🤔 he would add Whey protein to atleast 2 meals a day

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:33

@got2be I believe 40-45 is a good amount of progesterone. I'm hoping my google doesn't say that to me as I'm on the waiting list for gynaecology but I'm really hoping they'll refer me to a specialist in endo instead that may be quicker than the 8 months I've got to wait for the other one!! Or maybe even change it from routine to something else

@thislittlebird I'm definitely at my highest ever too! I just need someone to make me move, it's not as easy to exercise when you're not getting paid for it 😂

thislittlebird · 28/04/2021 16:38

@Aimzie ok that’s interesting. There’s mixed evidence because there’s no enough research in this area yet, but some does point to possible impact upon male fertility. Might be worth looking into it/asking your doctor or urologist about it in case they think stopping it might help his count. Definitely do an inspection of what’s in what he’s taking.

thislittlebird · 28/04/2021 16:45

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m going to get moving over the long weekend! I must start. My body will be more calorie-adjusted by then. I had a salad for lunch and my only non-fruit snack was a digestive biscuit which is an improvement on last week 😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 28/04/2021 16:47

@thislittlebird I'll try and do the same, I've been commissioned for a large wall mural which I start painting tomorrow so at least I'll be on my feet lots for the next week or so! Going to try and take things in with me to eat rather than popping to a shop too 😂

Aimzie · 28/04/2021 16:50

@thislittlebird thats really interesting I never would have thought of that, thank you, il have a read through those studies today too ❤️
My results was pushed back to the 15th of May as well because of the second SA, they want to give both results together. So annoying! It will be nearly a month since I got my bloods done

Crazydoglady123 · 28/04/2021 18:04

@Marvellouslymadmum that's good then. Mines been on Proxeed plus for about 3 months now so will be interesting to see what his sample is like come Monday!

@polejunkie thank you. I'll be glad for it to be done and over with. Monday feels so long away 😂

@Aimzie those are really interesting reads @thislittlebird attached. I know it's not a great result but at least you're a little more aware of what the problem could be and on the road to getting it sorted/improved. There's so many things they can do out there now reproductive wise.

Motherofkittens28 · 28/04/2021 18:11

So I'm starting to worry that the ivf has stopped me from ovulating. I'm not getting any of my normal ovulation symptoms, I normally get sore boobs right after ovulation and pretty much until a few days before AF. This is the second month following ivf and during my lap the surgeon said he couldn't see a dominant follicle even though I expected to ovulate 2 days later. Af is still rocking up dead on time though. I'm starting to worry about this affecting our second ivf round. Just want to get to the scan and see what's what!

Crazydoglady123 · 28/04/2021 18:17

@Motherofkittens28 I wouldn't worry too much. It takes a couple of cycles to get back to normal from what I've read. Just think how coming off things like BC such as depo can take you a while for your cycle to get back to normal plus you've just had the lap too. I'm sure your body will be fine once it's back on the ivf drugs.

Oh re the endo talk it's reminded me I got an email confirmation that my request for my hospital notes has been approved so should get those back next month. I ticked the box for pictures too so I'm hoping I get copies of the pictures as they were cool 😂

got2be · 28/04/2021 18:21

@Annny27 that's great news about the lap. hopefully you won't have to wait to long.
my appointment is not till next month.
60!! I've never had levels that high.
@thislittlebird thanks i think at this point I'm trying to blame it on everything.

got2be · 28/04/2021 18:24

found this when doing research on endo, not sure where does this test tho still looking.
