@got2be are you on meds for thyroid? I had thyroid issues but got meds ahead of IVF to balance it out, which it did - welcome to the club Smile how long have you been TTC?

Warm welcome to you as well @Sparrowfeeder - have you been investigated at all? Sorry you've had such a rubbish journey so far x

@yutes - things like that will definitely not have an impact - don't worry, hang in there until it's the right time to test (then let us know the outcome!)

got2be · 23/04/2021 10:17

@polejunkie thanks i was only Diagnosed with it in jan 2020 by sep 2020 my levels were stable and was taken off meds as kept going under. still off meds now. as for the graves not sure how long i've had it.

i'm 39, ttc no4 for 9 years. few cp over the years and mc last year at 5.5 weeks. been told its unexplained so next route is self funded IVF.

not wanting to go for it tho as scared of mc again an trying to get as much info about immune disorders and affects on ttc as been told its causes inflammation to body. been a crazy ride getting here and need to find a good clinic who will work with me as NHS can only do so much.

have you had thyroid antibody bloods? i did and even tho levels stables antibodies are still high.

paintfairy · 23/04/2021 10:22

@Motherofkittens28 its difficult. I probably won't announce if I ever get pregnant. I'm fairly private. So unless I see people- they won't know. No matter what their status, so to speak? Maybe it wasn't intentional? Having said that, one of my oldest friends did announce it on fb (her engagement too come to think of it) and never told me and that did annoy me. I wasn't even in a relationship at the time so there was no ttc issue. I'm sure you'd tell the people who matter before fb? But who knows......

polejunkie · 23/04/2021 10:25

@got2be wow what a journey!! You are right, nhs will only do so much but best to be armed with all the info if you’re having to fund IVF yourselves. I don’t know anything about graves in total honesty. Ref antibody bloods - I don’t think I have, my levels were only off in IVF terms (won’t touch you apparently if imbalanced) but in real life my levels aren’t considered to be in med territory! I only found out because of fertility checks, no actual issues / symptoms from my perspective.

got2be · 23/04/2021 10:45

@polejunkie yes has been a rollercoaster, I didn't know that about thyroid and ivf. hopefully mines stay in range and yours do too.

hopefully the clinic i choose will do all immune testing as been with NHS past 2 years (lockdown included) and they have never mentioned the immune side to it only thyroid levels.

sending positive vibes x

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 11:58

@Yutes waiting is best if you can. More concrete of an answer then and no squinting at lines! Best of luck 🤞🏾

Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 12:20

@MIW01 that's amazing news!

@Annny27 although an op isn't ideal, at least it's a step closer to a bfp and an answer at least. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long 🤞

@Motherofkittens28 hmm that's a bit odd. Maybe she's quite private about it? Or maybe she struggled for this pregnancy and realises how it can trigger some people? Chin up you, not long to go till you start your next cycle 🎉

@Yutes fingers crossed it's all a good sign 🤞

Welcome newbies! @got2be I think @VenusStarr was having immune testing l/thyroid looked into? I may be totally wrong if so apologies @VenusStarr

Motherofkittens28 · 23/04/2021 13:01

@Crazydoglady123 how are you getting on with the drugs, are they still making you feel sick?
I think judging by the age gaps it's not likely it was a struggle ttc but you never know! I haven't told her we are trying but it's entirely possible someone else has! I work with her husband so I'm always a little cautious about how much personal stuff I reveal!

I think today is ovulation day for me, I normally get pain but maybe I won't since the lap. Without the pain I won't know if it's actually happened!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 13:13

@Motherofkittens28 same as me, always get pain. Be interesting to see if I don't. I use opk's as well so will do that from next week. Perhaps time to try them or temping?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 23/04/2021 13:29

@Crazydoglady123 is right, I've had immune testing @got2be. I've had 3 MMCs and 1 chemical, we've been ttc over 3.5 years now and couldn't conceive for the first 16 months. I've been on immune meds for 6 months (my last miscarriage was October last year) and we can't conceive again, so I'm doing ivf next month. We are able to get one funded round.

I've had both a uterine nk cells biopsy but had normal levels so was just given progesterone for my next pregnancy but the baby stopped growing at the same point as my 2 other mmc. So I had my peripheral bloods done and when in a pregnancy state the nk cells are activated and are quite aggressive, so I'm on hydroxychloroquine, intralipid infusions and prednisolone. When I do ivf I will have clexane too. My thyroid fluctuates, not massively but was over 3, so I'm on a low dose of levothyroxine too.
Have you looked into any ivf clinics?

Hope everyone else is OK, just on my lunch, so I'll pop back later xx

MIW01 · 23/04/2021 14:02

Thank you @Annny27 I really hope this is the solution for you! @Juno231 @VenusStarr @crazycatlady1981 @Crazydoglady123 @notyetamumbuttrying finger crossed for a BFP for you @Marvellouslymadmum would be good to see some charts!

Welcome @Sparrowfeeder sorry to hear of all your losses

That makes perfect sense @Theawkwardblonde I think we all want an explanation! I have a driving license but driving cause all sorts of stress and symptoms for me so I avoid it like the plague. We all have our own stuff so not fair to judge!

kerrym87 · 23/04/2021 14:11

@Annny27 I had endo removed off left ovary and it deffo helped with pain but in tww now in 1st cycle since lap and hsg so we'll see. @MIW01 yey!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 14:15

@kerrym87 good luck with this cycle! Be intrigued to see if you get your bfp now! We're going straight to Ivf so not really getting a chance although we'll still dtd around ovulation to see. Been told I can still take the injections even though I'll be cd21, feels risky tho so feeling unsure 😐

OP posts:
Motherofkittens28 · 23/04/2021 14:50

@notyetamumbuttrying I used to use opks and temping but I never saw a positive opk and my temping wasn't clear either so I don't bother anymore. Although I did use the more expensive clearblue opk for a while and that did work. Too late now and next cycle will be ivf so I'll see what happens after that!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 15:16

@Motherofkittens28 hope you dtd already then or due to later! 🤞🏾 I'm all up for these miracle bfp's before treatment! 😁

OP posts:
Motherofkittens28 · 23/04/2021 15:25

@notyetamumbuttrying oh yes! Went back to the schedule of day 8, day 10, day 12 today is day 13 which is my normal ovulation date. Might see if I can force dp to dtd tomorrow as well to be on the safe side! I cannot wait to get back to a normal none forced sex life!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 15:57

@Motherofkittens28 that's what I'm most looking forward to, sod the baby 😝

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 16:44

@Motherofkittens28 my headaches aren't nowhere near as bad and as often and don't feel so sick today but when I went to bed last night my ovaries felt achy and heavy like they do when I'm on Clomid and today my left ovary has been sore but that's the one the cyst is on and also that I always get loads of follicles on. My right one only gets a few on it weirdly...I had a cyst removed years ago on that side so not sure if that damaged something maybe or it's just lazy 🤷🏽‍♀️

Motherofkittens28 · 23/04/2021 17:20

@Crazydoglady123 that's good that the headaches are reducing! I think the heaviness is to be expected when you have lots of follicles, hopefully that means lots of eggs. I had a bit of heaviness when I did my frozen cycle but not on the last one because I had so few follicles Confused ! When is your first scan?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/04/2021 19:06

@Theawkwardblonde I don't understand why there's so much hate to those that don't drive! My mum didn't drive until I was about 8 never made any difference to us, just made things a little easier once she did! Is it a permanent thing that you won't be able to drive or could it be temporary?

@Yutes I really don't think anything like that would make any difference

@notyetamumbuttrying no call from the doc today so will have to wait until Monday now 😑 but I got another flasher today so hopefully shall be jumping the oh again tonight!

@MIW01 I've attached the last three months charts

Annny27 · 23/04/2021 20:37

Evening ladies :)

With regards to ovulation pain - I get a distinct stitch on one side around ovulation
Is that what others feel? (The endo girls anyway haha)

I read that 30-50% unexplained fertility is actually endometriosis!

@notyetamumbuttrying I also have bowel issues so I think mines probably a bit stuck too. I have never been more interested for someone to have sex hah! Literally cant wait to hear about it 😂😂😂 oh the fertility clinic didnt answer the phone today 🙄😬 so I had to leave a message

@Yutes it definitely wouldnt have affected anything but I totally get your rational haha!

@marvellouslymadmum do you ovulate? I cant see it in your chart but not sure if your have optimised the chart to make it clearer viewing

@crazycatlady1981 thank you! Yes I am hopeful! We conceived naturally in Sept 2019 so I wonder what was different that month or maybe the endo has got worse since then!

@kerrym87 interesting! Glad its helped 🥰 hopefully you get your bfp this month!!!

@crazydoglady123 yes I am hopeful 🙌🏻🙌🏻

@motherofkittens28 haha yes my little ovulation stitch is like extra confirmation that it's happening so without it I would have to use OPKs I think :p

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/04/2021 20:49

@Annny27 i get that usually on one side and last month on both! None this month so far but no peak yet. No they're not optimised, the ovulation day is the yellow flower thing but that's the suspected day and it never confirms it and I don't know if I ovulate every month to be honest! You can see my changing Lp there too 15 days 14 days and 11 days 🤦🏼‍♀️

MIW01 · 23/04/2021 21:14

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum I can definitely see the difference between FP & LP but it is very subtle . . . My overall trend between the 2 is quite a lot but my hmchart is very up and down like mountains rather than smooth lines dmso it is a bit tricky to tell when I actually ovulate! So I use OPK but my LH surge is always less than the control it's the CB digital that pinpoint it. Though this month my temperature so far is usually high!

Theawkwardblonde · 23/04/2021 21:39

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks! As it happened I got my bloody dates messed up so it's next week my scan!

@MIW01 that's a shame you get stressed driving but makes sense why you would avoid it. I adore driving, always been a petrol head.

@Marvellouslymadmum unfortunately it's likely permanent due to what's happened with me as some irreversible damage has occurred to me which is going to affect me for life. It's annoying as I'm fine in myself, and this issue doesn't affect me physically if that makes sense.

Do you all track BBT? I tried but couldn't make heads nor tails of it. Plus working shifts meant cannot take temp at same time each day.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/04/2021 22:02

@MIW01 my last months chart was nice and calm but all the ones before that are just up and down like a yo-yo lol I have to use the clearblue digital advance ones can't get a good line on the strips at all

@Theawkwardblonde ahh that's a shame I thought maybe you'd be able to get back to driving again, I love driving too so I can totally understand how you must miss it
