Ok so we need to get back to us ladies, back to fun games, POAS & getting fit, but you need to help me Cos Minster is flagging with a fuck boy body worse than the rest 🥺

Guess what...it’s nearly Easter & know what that means! 🐰🐣...We don’t want the 🐰to have the fun but bloody hell sometimes it’s a f*cling egg hunt all right 🙈🤣.

March and April we’ve got a lot of exciting times ahead with people going for Clomid & IVF as well as a lot of straight up sex for the “normal” TTC gang so let’s get shagging & FIND THOSE 🐣🌈.

We are still working on our spring challenges alongside trying to get pregnant and we’ve had great results so far- feel free to have a catch up on those and add your own.

And we are still helping each other get fitter, more positive through sharing small changes we are making in our lives and trying to inspire & support each other with these too...as well as of course being there for each other during the sad times.

And if you see mention of my blog then blame these guys they made me do it...#shamelessplug

Hello @babyghirl @somatronic 👋🏻 nice to have some newbies (even though it seems you've both been on the ttc bus for a while so I'm really glad you've found us - these girls are incredible 💞)

@inkypaper I'm sorry you're having a hard day and that you SIL wasn't particularly sensitive with her news. It's the worst kind of FOMO 😔 I hope you feel better after some sleep 💕

@Franklydear yeeesss to the trying of new foods from DS!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Well done mum you're doing such a great job!!! 😊

Oh and with regards to the sandwich/bacon chat, tonight for my dinner I had a hot BLC Pitta which consisted of toasting a Pitta so it puffy open, a slathering of mayo, bacon, lettuce, cucumber then squeeze of lemon juice!!! Delish!!! If you've never tired it then do it - trust me the lemon juice adds something! Anyway - Bed for me now. Sorry I'm advance if I'm quiet the rest of the week, work is manic and I'm knackered all the time atm. I will try to read & reply tho 😊 night /!! X

Madeoftea · 25/03/2021 00:30

Hey ladies, I hope everyone's doing okay!

I can't sleep so I've managed to catch up and realise I've missed all the sandwich chat. I don't have much to add because I love a good old cheese crisp sandwich but I like all the ideas! I think I need to invest in a toastie maker, yes?

On the theme of food, I'm trying to be more healthy and I've ordered hello fresh for next week and I've upped my steps after becoming a couch potato from furlough 🙈 but please tell me how I stop snacking when the kitchen is always a few steps away and I have no life or anything to do 😂

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 03:08

Ahh just caught up @Sausage1990 massive congratulations lovely! What a line 😍

Also so excited to see puppy pics soon @Vil10 🥰🐶

@Minster2012 Amazing news the ivf is getting going!

Sorry if I've missed out on any other big news 🙈

I'm here doing the 2am bottle feed, trying to express as much as possible in prep for the 6am feed, watching downton abbey and letting OH sleep before I go back up at 3.30 and he takes over watching baby so I can sleep. Breastfeeding has been so hard and emotional, I'm trying my best with pumping but only really getting enough for one feed per day at the moment and he doesn't latch for longer than a few seconds to be able to feed from boob. Baba is suffering a bit from reflux so is being sick after every feed and really restless through the night, not enjoying sleeping in his crib too I think, but I feel tonight we've turned a bit of a corner and me and OH have managed to get a good amount of sleep (5 hours split up into bits and pieces is now considered good!) but we have to take it in turns to sleep. Maybe today will be the day that I don't cry for reasons unknown to even myself 🤣

My supervisor has fallen asleep on the job 🐱

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 06:54

@Ltay2 omg pros to you for pumping! When I found out what exclusively pumping meant recently I immediately decided that was not for me and something I wouldn't do because it seems so difficult. Go you! 💪🏼 p.s love your supervisor 🐱

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 07:09

@lucyrp It is hard work but now I've accepted that one breastmilk feed per day is better than nothing and taken the pressure off myself to get enough for multiple feeds a day then I feel a lot better about it. Didn't manage to get enough for 6am feed so now aiming for enough for 2pm once the pump has charged 🙈 formula feeding is hard work too having to cool bottles etc so I've ordered myself the tommee tippee prep machine which should arrived today and make my life easier 🙏🏼

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 07:15

@Ltay2 pumping is really hard working, I only ever did it a couple of times with DS whenever I went out or something. Have you tried using one of those collectors on the other breast whilst pumping the other ? I don't know if that would help but if you leak slightly you might be surprised how much you catch without working so hard that side.

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 07:26

@lucyrp I don't seem to ever leak really but I do have a haakaa pump that I might try putting on the other boob when I pump today just to see what happens. I got the Elvie pump and the fact I've spent £275 on it in total as had to buy the smaller breast shields for £25 on top of the actual pump cost is making me carry on as I can't justify giving up so easily when it was so expensive 🙈

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 07:30

@Ltay2 oh you got one of those! I was so amazed by them until I joined an elvie group on Facebook and spent a year on it watching people complain about how they have to use a piece of kitchen roll to make it work properly etc and my friend bought one and used it once or twice then sold it on as she thought it was rubbish 🙈 how are you getting on with it ??

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 07:33

@lucyrp I'm getting on ok I think, it's easy enough to use I just don't always collect very much. I can be pumping for an hour and only collect about 20ml but tbh I think that's to do with my supply. What do people use the kitchen roll for?

Franklydear · 25/03/2021 07:40

@Ltay2 don't give up, I had a similar situation, produce little milk but managed to mix feed until 5 months, unrelated to you, I found out years later the cause, my milk came late due to the extra meds in a difficult birth, but after that should be ok, doing my research of autism, it happens that many autistic babies don't have a good sucking reflex ( ds refuse to use dummies and only learn to use straws after 5) this means feeding is stressful for them and doesn't stimulate the boob to produce milk, so what I had considered a failure turns out to be an amazing feat, I felt so validated I cried in the library

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 07:46

@Ltay2 they have to use a piece of kitchen roll under the flange or something to help it actually work properly. You should join the support groups! Or maybe don't 😂🙈 funny you should say that, my friend could only pump about that much with the elvie and got a different pump and she can pump fine. I would be really inclined to tell you to try a different pump as it may change your outcome! It might not be anything to do with your supply just the pump

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 07:58

@Franklydear That is interesting! I'm not giving up though as it's easy enough to try.

@lucyrp I think OH would have a mental breakdown if I said we needed to get another pump 😂 I'll have a look at the groups though they may give me some tips, I'll avoid the negativity 🙈

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 08:03

@Ltay2 oh no I don't mean an expensive one, I think she bought a different one that was quite cheap off Amazon il ask her which one it was and get back to you. Honestly think it's worth trying a different pump after having spent so much time on the support pages with people saying they don't use the elvie as their only pump, a lot of ladies use a main pump and then use the elvie if they're busy etc. I really think the amount you're pumping is related to the pump and not you or your supply !

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 08:05

@lucyrp Ah ok yes I would be interested to know what she used in that case if it was only cheap!

Minster2012 · 25/03/2021 08:07

Morning ladies!!

@Vil10 awesome work! Boom! You'lll be bikini ready for your trip (which will go ahead end of the year don't worry xx

@DJmum83 thank you, I think so, are you feeling less sicky?

@Amy00 that's really good advice! I hope the appointment goes well for both @paintfairy and @blackcurrantqueen 🤞🏻

@Franklydear ive seen that advertised and thought it seemed like something I could binge watch whilst painting skirtingboards!

@Dollybird89 the cops 😳is OH back working lots now? Hope so! And what Flo has disappeared again?? What a bitch

@Sausage1990 lemon juice you say, noted

@Madeoftea the snacking is the worst, but someone on here suggested making the days meals and healthy snacks ahead instead & having fruit so to stop the temptation. I have jelly in the fridge so that satisfies my sweet tooth but isn't actually bad. And who was is, @Kirky658 that was doing housework everytime a snack attack hit?!! So either your house is then sparkling OR u decide you weren't hungry after all 🤣😂

@Ltay2 awww look at your cat falling asleep too, Tommy tippee prep all the way & out boy was formula fed from north (obs as I couldn't Brest feed) and he was MASsive and thriving so honestly you are doing fab 🥰🥇👑he drank it straight from there and loved it, meant DH could help which was great, keep going sweet

Hope everyone else is good, hugs to all xx

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 08:08

@Ltay2 she's just text back and said it was called "Bellababy" you can get them for £45 on Amazon which isn't cheap I guess but about a sixth of the price of the elvie 😬and it comes as w double pump. you could get one second hand to try if you didn't want to splash out incase. Sorry for bombarding you but having read other people say similar to yourself and finding out it was just the pump and not themselves i thought it might be useful information! Xx

Gensola · 25/03/2021 08:09

Day 4 of injections here - 3 more to go! Can’t wait til my progress scan on 2nd to see if lining is all good. So much waiting around with IVF!

paintfairy · 25/03/2021 08:16

@Minster2012 @Katao Thank you!
@Juno231 also has an appointment this morning! All systems go here. 🤣

@Franklydear I laughed at you crying in the library. Not because the reason was funny but because I could randomly imagine people passing by would be like- eh? That makes complete sense though and I never would have thought about that either. As for the rest of the breastpump chat- I can't help but I agree if its taking that long @Ltay2 there must be a better way!

Ltay2 · 25/03/2021 08:16

@lucyrp I will have a look into it! Thank you for finding out ❤️

Florence13 · 25/03/2021 08:17

@Ltay2 it sounds like you are doing a fantastic job and with the lack of sleep to your doing fab! Well done on the pumping as I’ve heard it is difficult and hard work.

@Franklydear that is really interesting about the link between sucking reflex and autism.

@Juno231 that sandwich sounds epic will have to give that a go.

Babyghirl · 25/03/2021 08:19

@madeoftea
Just don't go shopping that's all that would help me anyway 😂😂😂😂😂 shop day by day lol 💚

Amy00 · 25/03/2021 08:30

And @paintfairy too! Hope it goes well today, let us know what they say! X

lucyrp · 25/03/2021 08:34

@Ltay2 no worries! I know how hard it is and how hard you can be on yourself. On the latching front have you chatted to your midwife or HV about that ? They may be able to offer some advice or point you in the right direction if that was something you wanted 💓

Minster2012 · 25/03/2021 08:35

@Juno231 oooo another appointment sorry I didn't realise! What's yours for? My DH is off to drop his load for sperm analysis at 9am, I just sent him a gif of "super sperm" good luck and he sent back a message saying "a picture of your tits would be more helpful 🤣

@Gensola hey! I wondered how you were getting on! That's interesting you are doing injections I've not heard that? How you feeling? And DH better now? So are they thinking transfer next week? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Babyghirl omg I couldn't shop every day, One if my SIL/BIL did that each day in London basically, they s just moved up here (Yorkshire) and discovered shopping for a week with a freezer and stuff and she's like "OMG my food bills are SOOOOO MUCH LESS" and not just cos not in London walking past a coffee shop 🤣😳

Just drinking my pink grapefruit juice. It's not so bad. I could mix it with the Pom juice maybe???
Hmmmm

larrythelizard · 25/03/2021 08:41

@Ltay2 I couldn't breastfeed and really beat myself up about it (we tried until my nipples quite literally bled). Has someone checked his latch is right and checked for tongue tie? That was the problem for us but was too late by the time we realised.

Also I only realised relatively recently that the WHO guidelines about breast being best is based on global recommendations - ie covers much of the world where they don't have access to clean water and adequate formula. So don't beat yourself up. DS is now 21 months and in 2-3 year clothes so thriving.

@Gensola ooh you're getting there, well done on the jabs! The 2nd isn't far off at all!

@Dollybird89 good luck this morning!

Lots of appts, this is good, means we're all moving on! Good luck @Katao @Juno231 @blackcurrantqueen and @paintfairy!
