@KJLM how do you check your cervix?! Maybe best I don’t know else I might start doing daily checks 🤣 you never know, like the other ladies said maybe your FRER did pick something up and it’s too early for other tests to detect? Let us know how you get on! X
@AMS19 I did actually test this morning with my strips and it was very much a negative. The strength is 25 MIU but I thought I would hold off from purchasing any other tests for now. I’m not feeling hopeful at all - skin has started to get bad and the bad mood is in full force so I think PMS is firmly in play 😫 if there’s no sign of AF by Thursday I’ll test again but I honestly think I’m out this month. Hopefully I’ll get a nice juicy egg for Easter!! 😜 how’s your period? Does it feel “normal” now? X

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 14:17

@SuzieDeLaTour bugger. Well, still very early but best mentally to prefer for AF then anything else is a bonus. Period is very good, 3 days of pretty heavy bleeding but very very small amount of tiny clots so hopefully thats good. Just really hoping it has a good clearout and then there is no spotting after. I'm going to enjoy a nice glass of red wine with my lamb roast guilt free 😀 xx

Pettylamby · 21/03/2021 14:26

Hi ladies...

Just checking in...

Got my 3+ weeks this morning and don't think my FRERs can get any darker so have officially retired from testing at 5+2 and we'll see what happens!

@LauraT94 how did you get on today? I was convinced I wouldn't get 3+ and there it was! Feeling a bit reassured but I'm sure only for today!

KJLM · 21/03/2021 14:41

Thank you @AMS19 🤞

@SuzieDeLaTour You’ve got me thinking I should also wait till Thursday now! Here is the link to a website that explains checking cervix (I only go by height of it and have used it to check for pregnancy not ovulation so might give that a go this time)-

www.verywellfamily.com/how-to-check-your-cervix-and-cervical-position-1960299

I started it because all the apps I was using before had a category for you to select so I thought they must be onto something (flo and Ovia). That website says you can’t use your cervix to check for pregnancy but if your cervix is lower near period then I’m no doctor but that’s a good enough to know for me!😂

Brightspark12 · 21/03/2021 14:43

@SuzieDeLaTour I always tried to check my cervix but only when I was actually pregnant did I notice, it was so high up I couldn’t even feel it- never been like that before!

Sleepykitkat · 21/03/2021 14:50

@AMS19 thanks so much that's really helpful!

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 14:53

That's amazing news @Pettylamby

I also check my cervix. Generally if it feels like the end of your nose you're not fertile. If you can really feel it or it's squishy your fertile. No idea on the pregnant/not pregnant, I've only checked around ovulation!

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 15:34

Can't really feel it even!

LauraT94 · 21/03/2021 15:47

@Pettylamby of course I also got my 3+ this morning twin 😂😜

I was the same, panicked I wouldn't get it! But came up quite quickly. My nausea is kicking in now so I can definitely feel that the hormones are high! I feel so different to my last pregnancy! Wondering if that means it's a different gender or just that every pregnancy is different!

SuzieDeLaTour · 21/03/2021 15:50

Oh ladies you’ve made me laugh with the cervix checking!! Now I’m thinking I’ve been missing out on something, like I’m not part of the cervix gals ha!
@AMS19 yeah I am mentally preparing for AF, any sort of excitement I had around ovulation has now very much disappeared. I did feel very teary earlier, not sure if it’s just hormones or disappointment that it might not be as easy as I would like - probably a combination of both! I remember feeling disheartened last year month on month when my period came and feeling a bit desperate and both times I raised it with a doctor they told me just to relax and these things can take months...I know that’s true, I just hate it though!! I think a part of me foolishly thought that I might be a bit more fertile after a good clear out during my ERPC 🙄 glad your cycle has returned to normal and yay to a yummy glass of wine!
@Pettylamby amazing news!! What a lovely relief for you - sounds like it’s all going as it should! X

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 15:54

@SuzieDeLaTour honestly I totally get it. I foolishly assumed I've fall straight after my mmc and would be 3 months pregnant by now. Falling first time left me with a glass sense of how easy this all is. It's pretty terrifying I've had 3 attempts and not fallen. But...we HAVE to trust our bodies. They know now they have to wait for the perfect egg. And I'd wait months for that perfect egg if it means I don't have another miscarriage. Doesn't mean we can't feel painfully gutted in the mean time of course xx

@LauraT94 amazing news! So pleased for you xx

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 15:56

Gosh no many mistake in that last one! Let me try again

Madeoftea · 21/03/2021 16:30

I got my negative test this week, 3 weeks after my mc. No idea what my cycles will be like and we're not preventing but after I get my period back it will be go go go!

I feel like I've got some closure finally and I'm still anxious but also excited to try again!

Congrats on your 3+ tests @LauraT94 and @Pettylamby

@SuzieDeLaTour it took me 10 months to get pregnant and I think once you know you want a baby you want it immediately so every month is heart breaking when it doesn't happen. I know I'll be gutted when I get my period even though I know its almost impossible because we've hardly DTD!

No1worrier · 21/03/2021 16:52

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages and advice ❤. I will definitely check out everything you all suggested.

Did anyone take any vitamins/supplements straight away?x

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 17:01

@no1worrier pre mmc I was only taking pregnacare. Post mmc I'm also now taking ubiquinol (300mg per day), 40mg of foliate plus pregnacare. And then I will be taking B6 after ovulation to hopefully extend my LP

AMS19 · 21/03/2021 17:02

Oh sorry and my husband is now taking wellman vitamins whereas before mmc he wasn't taking anything

justwant2beamum · 21/03/2021 17:33

I'm taking seven seas conception vitamins and DP taking wellman x

Madeoftea · 21/03/2021 17:35

@No1worrier I think I missed your earlier post, I'm so so sorry for your loss I can't imagine what you're going through.

I was taking pregnacare before my mmc but am just taking basic folic acid and vit d or now until I hopefully get my next bfp. I hope you're doing okay, all these ladies are amazing support so you're in the right place.

DMT1982 · 21/03/2021 18:09

@No1worrier oh I'm so sorry to read what you're going through. It must be so hard.
I've always waited for a period after MCs to try again mostly because I'd know when I was ovulating.
I'm taking pregnacare and DH is taking the men's one. I also have a vitamin D spray every day

KJLM · 21/03/2021 18:24

@No1worrier I found the vitamin decision very confusing- when I fell ‘fell pregnant’ (god I hate that phrase as if it’s that easy) with our son I was only taking folic acid and it did the trick and is actually the only thing recommended as necessary by most health professionals in the UK. However over the years more and more research has been done and there are a variety of vitamins - most of which depend on the individual if it will give any benefit as the levels required of each vitamin are different for each individual. A good prenatal vitamin will have the minimum which is for the average woman but given everything you’ve been through I’d ask your consultant- and don’t be worried about asking them and raising the ttc question it is entirely normal to want to straight after loss.
There is a book called ‘It starts with the egg’ which contains a lot of information on vitamins but personally I found it very overwhelming with everything else I’m trying to get my head around.
Have you heard of Zoe Clark-Coates? She’s basically the loss guru and her quotes really resonate with me. I bought the baby loss guide weeks after the loss of our son and it really helped at the time- especially the stories of people who had been where we all are and then got to take their baby home.
I see @AMS19 has mentioned themindfulgriefcoach and I recently did her mindfulness course one evening however I am 8 months on after loss and only now am I able to take things in- in the initial months my head was a sieve and any information poured out but now I’m trying to find the tools to navigate our loss and help us on our ttc journey.
