Hi,

I’ve been ttc for around 7 months. Brought my first opk this month.

I had one day negative and just had my 7th day of high opk. This is now day 17.

Cycle is normally around 30/31 days.

Any advice or has anyone else had multiple high opks?

@BellaBoo7 that's OK. I'm actually glad to see ugly AF and get a fresh chance. I was taking pregnacare and switched to Zita west because there was some ridiculous high concentration of vitamins mainly Bs vitamins and I thought more is best. I read that excess can cause spotting and extend cycles. Hopefully that's the culprit. I switched back to pregnacare and binned zita west

BellaBoo7 · 17/09/2021 13:16

@Angie887 I took cheap pregnancy vitamins and 100mg of b6 on top as I’d read good things about it x
@Angie887 due on 23rd January I’ll be 22 weeks on Sunday x
That's so exciting ❤️❤️ enjoy your last half of pregnancy. You'll miss it ❤️

I think it's B12 vitamin that usually messes up with cycles. I might have a good research and if B6 it's safe I might get some then. I'm so scared now to take things 😂

Afternoon ladies!

Sorry for the slight delay getting back - I’m just headed into my fw week now. I’m CD12 so expect it’ll be towards the end of the week I ovulate.

@Angie887 I’m sorry AF showed up ❤️, let’s hope for more luck with this cycle.

I moved vitamins too from pregnacare and my period was little different so debating if to move back to it as well 😂

Hey hun. I was thinking of you and was going to message you today. I'm CD 18 today so a week behind you. Are you not tracking ov this month?
I had some blood tests done and my prolactin levels was very high. I've searched online and apparently it can prevent ovulation sometimes but I'm ovulating regularly so no sure if I should get medication for that. I'm not a big fan of taking medication. I had an infection this cycle and I was on antibiotics during ovulation so couldn't track it properly I thought I wasn't going to ovulate as my opk never had a blazing positive but my bbt is suggesting I did ovulate at some point just no sure when.
Fingers crossed this will be our month 🤞🤞🤞

AZ1992X · 04/10/2021 11:03

Hi ☺️

What did your gp make of the results? Did they say any follow up was needed?

How strange - I was on antibiotics too this cycle but it was before ovulation and I’m sure that affected my cycle. If your bbt has gone up you probably have 😌

I used opks but it looks like I ovulated later than normal - It says I’m around 4 DPO.
I also thought maybe I wasn’t going to ovulate this month but did have good readings on my tests and my temp seems to be going up. I’ve got bloods again tomorrow so that should confirm if I did.

I have my 🤞🏼For you both that this month is your month x

Angie887 · 04/10/2021 11:52

@AZ1992X what a coincidence! Did you get a definite positive opk? Mine was dark but not quite as control line. I'll try to attach a picture. I normally surge in the morning early afternoon so I didn't test in the evening of cd 14 so I'm not sure if antibiotics changed the time I surged and I missed it or if it just caused a lower surge . I did my blood tests privately at pharmacy and they sent me a report advising if I didn't have any symptoms I should repeat the test in 4 weeks as high levels can be caused by stress so I will do that as I don't have any symptoms. I might do a test to check my progesterone to make sure I have ovulated but like you my temperatures are trending up so I'm sure it happened. I'm trying to research if low levels of LH can somehow impact quality of egg released but I can't find anything about it.

@BellaBoo7 thank you hun! How are you doing? Everything ready for the arrival of the little one?

BellaBoo7 · 04/10/2021 11:58

@Angie887 yeah all good thank you 24 weeks now. Cleared the nursery out this weekend ready for painting and trying to get everything done that needs doing in the house 🤦‍♀️

AZ1992X · 04/10/2021 17:46

Yours defo could have been cd14 as was quite a gap so if your bbt went up wouldn’t worry too much.

I didn’t know you could get them done at the pharmacy but it’s good you can. I’m not sure but I wouldn’t think it would affect it as some people get higher than others?

Yeah it seemed much darker than the control line
(Attached) guess my bloods will help confirm if I did.

@BellaBoo7 thank you ❤️ Glad everything’s going well x.

@AZ1992X that's a blazing positive and if bbt is going up I'm sure you ovulated.
Fingers crossed we'll see those 2 lines on our hcg test in a few days 🤞🤞🤞

@BellaBoo7 wow 24 weeks already
Time does fly! Better finish everything before third trimestre because you might want to put your feet up as the bump can get a bit heavy 😊. Keep up posted x

BellaBoo7 · 04/10/2021 22:43

@Angie887 I’m wishful thinking over here but hoping I manage to keep going like I have been 😂. I’m still managing to go out walking and horse riding. Winters coming too which means stable mucking out time 🤦‍♀️X

AZ1992X · 05/10/2021 09:16

Morning @Angie887 Thank you, just went for my bloods this morning so hopefully it won’t take them long to come back.

Let’s stay positive 🤞 - do you know when AF would be due or is it hard to tell with this cycle??

I’m trying not to test unless AF doesn’t show- managed it last month. Will see how that goes 🙈

How you getting on @Angie887 ?

Blood tests for progesterone came back fine which the gp said was reassuring.

Angie887 · 08/10/2021 09:15

@AZ1992X that's excellent news!! It's just a matter of catching that egg then which I'm sure it'll happen soon ❤️. When are you expecting AF? Is it about Wednesday? Hopefully she stays away 😂

I spoke to my gp about my prolactin levels and she seemed a bit worried but I'm ovulating normally so hopefully nothing to worry about. She referred me to an endocrinologist. I'm going for a blood test today to check my progesterone. Hopefully everything should be fine.
I believe AF should be due next weekend.

And hell yesss. Let's stay positive! Our babies are coming!!! Not matter what, they are coming I'm sure!!! If it doesn't happen this happen this month it'll happen next. While there's an egg an uterus and sperm there's hope 😂. It'll happen!

@BellaBoo7 horse riding??? Omg you're very brave! Take my hat off for you. When I was pregnant I was so worried about even going on a car ride off road because it was so bumpy 😂

BellaBoo7 · 08/10/2021 11:03

@Angie887 it’s really good that they are checking everything for you 😊

I have my own pony and didn’t want him to have 9months off. The first couple of times I rode once finding out I was terrified but now it’s normal again. I did check it was ok with the consultant as well x

AZ1992X · 09/10/2021 09:05

Morning @Angie887 Thank you and it’s due early next week, only a few days to go - don’t feel anything yet. How are you getting on?

It’s good that they’ve referred you - it’s another one less thing to worry about if all is fine. Your bloods should come back fairly quick on progesterone so hopefully you’ll hear at the start of next week 🤞

I love your positivity, I’m all for it ❤️❤️

Morning @Angie887 how you getting on?

Unfortunately AF has arrived this morning for me.

OP posts:
Angie887 · 13/10/2021 11:06

@AZ1992X oh no!!! AF is a bit**! This will be the month! The beauty of things we get a fresh attempt every month ❤️ we will get trere eventually

I'm fully expecting AF at some point on weekend too as my BBT is trending down. I've already made my peace I'll get to try again 😊

I'm looking into possibly starting IVF early next year if no joy naturally by then. There are some very affordable options in Europe and no waiting list. Their sucess rate is also amazing. Some clinics sucess rate is as high as 70% and that's more than double than UK average. I'm hoping I'll be successful naturally and won't need it but I'm very open minded and seriously considering IVF as plan B option

BellaBoo7 · 13/10/2021 11:37

Oh no 😢.

You are both staying so positive which is great to see. You will get there I’m sure x

AZ1992X · 14/10/2021 15:45

@Angie887 yes that’s true - we still have two more cycles left this year, let’s keep positive ❤️✨

I really hope it doesn’t come to that and it happens naturally for us both but I can understand doing some research into options.

I’ve been told I’ll be referred for fertility investigations/services if I don’t conceive by April but I suspect that will be scans etc to start with.

OP posts:
Angie887 · 15/10/2021 09:22

@BellaBoo7 thank you. I'm sure we'll eventually get there. I just hope it's this year. Hope you're well ❤️

@AZ1992X that's good they're willing to refer you. NHS is so slow at the moment but hopefully next year it'll be faster to get appointments and referrals.

I've done a test for hidden infections which they don't do on NHS so I did privately and to my surprise I tested positive for ureaplasma. I'm so angry now because it can affect fertility and cause miscarriages and no doctor ever suggested I did this test! I'm off this afternoon to talk to my gp about treatment. I'm sad now thinking I might have to take a break from ttc while on treatment but I'm happy for finding issues and be able to fix them. This is only proves my theory of how doctors are sooo dismissive sometimes
