TWW starts... ovulation day today! Anyone else?

Hi ladies!

Anyone else ovulated today? I'm pretty sure I did after a peak OPK yesterday and now starting the dreaded TWW... my first as we're on cycle 1. I'm CD16 with a generally 30 day cycle.

Would love some company as I inevitably drive myself absolutely loco over the next fortnight 😂

Any early symptoms I can look out for to keep me occupied?!

Good luck to everyone!

Can I jump aboard please? I'm TTC #2 but DD is 8 so I need a complete refresher course. Now we are actively giving it a last shot instead of 'not preventing', I remember how much hate this waiting time.

I got peak of Clear Blue OPK on the 11th so now 3/4 days post ovulation, depending on how quickly that happened.
I've ordered a thermometer to track BBT (not expecting to get a BFP this month took blooming years with DD) next month. We've both been eating walnuts, almonds and Brazil nuts. Sounds like I need to add pomegranate juice and pineapple to my shopping list too 😂

Hey @cat8986 I'm currently munching on a little pot of Brazil nuts, walnuts and sunflower seeds as I type - inspired by you so thank you! Got a pineapple in now too so will have some of that tomorrow I think.

You're so right, it will happen when it happens and it's important to try to stay chilled and keep living our lives in between testing and DTD!

Ooh good to know about clearblue OPKs. I'm using the Femometer strips that go with the app I'm using anyway because I got the thermometer. I'm finding them ok but only just started tbf so we'll see!

Eek yeah we'll be testing around the same time! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hey @Lolajames ahh how annoying! I'm not using natural cycles. How much did your temp raise? Maybe keep an eye to see if your body looks like it's getting ready to ovulate again just in case. Maybe your app just needs another day or two though?

I'm mainly feeling cold 😂 our boiler is still broken, booooo. I keep thinking about how you're meant to keep your feet warm as they're somehow connected to your uterus (probably total rubbish haha) so I've been wearing thick socks 😂 aside from that been feeling slightly irritable... but probably again down to the lack of hot water 😂

How are you @Lolajames and how's everyone else? X

Welcome @WrongendoftheSTIX! How are you this eve? Ooh almonds, I need to add those to my list ☺️ I think we're at the same stage of our cycles, I'm 4DPO too. How long are your cycles usually?

@HaresHoping no I didn't find much out other than tiredness is literally a sign of anything and everything 🙄 common post ovulation, post implantation, post everything really which doesn't help in the slightest 😂 had terrible heartburn today too but probably from laying down so much (from sleeping!)

Hi @HaresHoping totally symptom free (quite relieved about that tbh! I don't want to get my hopes up too much) How about you?
I am due my AF on 26th. My cycle tends to be 26-27days. It doesn't usually vary too much 🤞

It went from around 35.5 up to 36.47 but only for a few days then back to around 35.9 🤷‍♀️ from what I've ready it should be higher and for longer? Natural cycles says it can't confirm ovulation yet but I've also now downloaded fertility friend app (I may end up with a million apps) and that seems to think the raise I had is enough so fingers crossed!

I'm good other than worrying about that and feeling super tired but had a busy weekend with step children so that's probably it. Trying not to symptom spot but it's easier said than done 🙈🙈🙈
@Lolajames no help with your question but I had been looking into the natural cycles kits, would you recommend them?

As for how I'm feeling, I'm super tired! I had a nap yesterday afternoon for a few hours then fell asleep on the sofa later on which neither are things I do. Just sat down to start some work and I'm really considering another nap 😂 of course it could be down to anything but I'm the queen of symptom spotting so I'm currently sat googling post ovulation tiredness to see if it's a thing (procrastination at its best!). Anyone else feeling tired?
I have used natural cycles for about a year to keep an eye on things while preventing pregnancy knowing we would soon be trying and it's given me a great insight into my cycle so I would recommend for that but there are lots of free apps you can use too I probably won't continue with it now I've discovered others.

I bought the clear blue OPK after my miscarriage as doc friend recommended for more accurately tracking my cycle and I have to say seems to be a lot easier than the strips I tried previously!

@Lolajames I've been tracking symptoms etc on a health app on my phone so I guess that would do for now. Are OPKs the ones where you have to have uninterrupted sleep or are they something else? I'll probably get some next cycle if my AF arrives this month!

Good morning everyone! Lots of us now!
I ordered 2 pack of FRERs for £5.95 on Amazon couple of days ago that said would be delivered on 25th Feb!
It's now back to one day delivery 😂
Even Amazon is telling me not to test early this time!!

Re: BBT and OPKs, I have been using IC OPKs. First cycle of using them I got BFP (then MMC). I think I've got to know my lines and the range of faint-bold that's normal for me.

BBT I have no idea, I know I'd forget to temp each morning so I haven't tried. But I love graphs and anything that makes it all feel more logical so maybe I'll give it a go in future cycles (or hopefully not!)

Something about the TWW which makes it all so exciting. For those with reg 28day cycles, 50% of our lives we are accepting of fact, we are not pregnant. And the other 50% is a dream of that clear BFP, still perfectly aware that it may not be this time, but hope we have in abundance.
And once we get that BFP we open a whole new can of worms!

Have a nice day everyone 😊

@xRRx you're so right! I'm a lot more excited than worried but then it is my first cycle so who knows how I may feel a few months in. But feeling happy and hopeful right now ☺️ how typical on the Amazon order 😂 at least it will stop you from testing too early!

@Lolajames I think it can fluctuate quite a lot depending on the person, but it usually stays above your coverline... but how the app works out your coverline I don't know?! I use FF as well and I love it. (Alongside Ovia, Glow, and Femometer 🙈) think lots of people use FF and swear by it so I'd trust that one if I were you and try to put it from your mind a bit. Bless you that does sound like a busy weekend! (Hope it's a secret symptom for you though!)

Hey @WrongendoftheSTIX good stuff! I'm pretty symptom free too though I did wonder if I felt implantation earlier, had a funny pinching feeling around my hip. However it was around lunchtime so prob just digesting my sandwich or something! 😂 have felt a bit of pulling but not sure if it's just in my head. I'm sure I get this stuff constantly and have just never taken notice before.

@Bee44 ahh how annoying! Could literally be anything then but fingers crossed it's a good sign for you along with the heartburn! 🤞🏻

How is everyone feeling this eve? Thought I'd share a few more tips from my Femometer TWW survival course from the last couple of days. It's advising yoga (managed about 15 mins of a fertility focused one I found on YouTube earlier before I went to make pancakes 😂) and a foot spa / reflexology. As we still have no hot water 🙄 I might try giving myself a foot massage (other half is watching Liverpool so very preoccupied lol).

Quite enjoying having something different to focus on each day to get through the TWW in a positive mood.

@xRRx omg typical 🙄 you can do this! Think of the money you'll save if you end up needing to buy another because you went too early...

I've got a new symptom to obsess over - read on another thread last night that resting heart rate can rise if you're pregnant. Went to check my Fitbit and it had gone up from 61, which it had stayed at for weeks, to 65. Today it's 67. Had a temp jump today too though not sure that means anything. Lots of ladies reporting the RHR thing though so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@HaresHoping I think I commented on the same thread or maybe one similar, legit ran to take my watch off charge to test mine 😂 it was super high but lockdown has made me so unfit that just running between one room to the next causes heart palpitations (okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration but still!) I know eating and being hot can raise it too so I'm not putting all my eggs (excuse the pun) in one basket on that one.

@xRRx I almost clicked buy on amazon for the FRER but I read the reviews and thought hmm maybe not, I know I wouldn't be able to resist testing either when they arrived 😅 keep telling myself to wait for when AF is due to buy mine but the supermarket is only down the road.....

@Bee44 I have got about 30 ICs in the bathroom cabinet!!
Last time I got my BFP on IC faintly... so I know I will want to start testing on ICs in a few days. And i will only use my FRERS if the ICs give me reason to

I also think I ovulated on 11th 🙌🏼

@xRRx I definitely need to invest in some IC's! Which ones have you got? I've read that the ones with pink dye are better but I'm sure the cheap ones I bought from the supermarket before were blue 🤔

@Jaymar I hope so too, I have seen so many BFPs on Mumsnet recently! Hopefully it's our month!
