Thanks @Lollipop25. Fingers crossed for my static but like you I’ve kinda written this month off in my head! If I do get a BFP then it will be a lovely surprise but if it’s a BFN then I won’t be too disappointed.

susiebluebell · 10/04/2021 11:59

Hi ladies, just wanted to give you all an update after quite a few weeks of just reading along.

I kept experiencing extremely long and irregular cycles, and started suspecting it might be linked to taking evening primrose oil, which I'd started a couple of months ago. I stopped taking that and folic acid, stopped tracking, and was just a mixture of fed up of TTC and desperate to make my cycles normal again.

This month my cycle was magically 35 days again (my normal is 34) and really heavy and 'clotty' (sorry). But I feel great now on day 5 - and ready to start OPKs in a few days because I REALLY want to get a handle on my cycle.

I feel I've taken the break I needed, and now I've got fresh energy. I suppose I still could have something wrong with me, with the irregular cycles, but I actually feel OK about it, now that I've had a normal cycle.

And I've accepted that by this point, any baby that arrives will be after I turn 31 in October, so no need to worry any more about having a baby within my stupid deadline of being 30! 😂

I've been reading along with everyone's journeys and hope you all have a lovely weekend ahead x

Wishingfornumber2 · 10/04/2021 12:41

@susiebluebell I was only thinking about you the other day as I remember you had a long cycle a while ago when I did too. Great to hear you have had a break and feel ready again. Also good news on the regular cycle. I’m currently experiencing another long cycle, cd 68 today!! Did a test this morning but BFN. Have only manually tracked when my last fertile period was as if this was a new cycle and going by when I should’ve come on before. But think we had only DTD once in my supposed fertile period so would be surprised if it was a BFP.

susiebluebell · 10/04/2021 22:13

@Wishingfornumber2 What the heck is up with the long cycles?? I hate them!

bez91 · 11/04/2021 08:29

@susiebluebell I think having deadlines and targets as such does help in someways of feeling focused but can do you harm as well. I think I'll be taking a break next more for sure as it'll do me good. Are you back on the evening primrose now?

Got my results from my 2-5 day bloods, I can see the results online but my doctors can’t offer me a phone app until 4 weeks time to discuss them so I’ve had to consult doctor Google 😭 my estreogen levels are really low for my age (30) and my LH is also pretty high for my age 😫 had no such issue that I knew of when conceived DD 4 years ago. Go my 21 day bloods soon and an ultrasound so will see what they say. Supposedly 2dpo today as per OPKs but I’m not sure I’ve actually ovulated 🙄 happy days this TTC lark!

OP posts:
elsimo · 11/04/2021 08:57

@bez91 oh god that's so frustrating that an appointment will take so long.

I have a docs appointment this week and going to ask for bloods. I have only ever had 21 day bloods.
Is ur cycle irregular?
Well hopefully at least this sheds some light on things and you can get the help you need xx

bez91 · 11/04/2021 14:19

@elsimo ahh that's weird have they never done your 2-5 day ones? I assumed they had to do both to get a picture on what your body is up to? These are my first lot so I'm a bit green with it all to be honest. My cycles have been regular since my MMC in December 30/31 days although the last one was a random 25 🤷‍♀️
I'm just frustrated that I've got to wait 4 weeks for someone to tell me what my "abnormal result" means, I've been really low the last few days which isn't like me but when I have some results that I'm no expert in interpreting you assume the worst. Are you post ov now?

@Florence15 how are you doing? Hope everything is ok and that line progressed

OP posts:
Florence15 · 11/04/2021 15:05

@bez91 I’m ok thanks for asking 🙂 I did a FRER on Thursday and the line was a lot darker. I’m just taking it a day at a time at the moment and trying not to worry. It’s easier said than done. I’m going to ask for an early scan hopefully as 8 weeks seems such a long time. Fingers crossed .

I hope you get some answers soon 🤞 4 weeks is a long time to wait but I’m like you, I just end up googling it which can only make you worry more.
I’ve had 2 reflexology sessions and funnily enough I had one in Oct and got pregnant that cycle and had one this cycle too 🤷‍♀️ Not sure that’s the reason but apparently it’s excellent for regulating your hormones. Hopefully you’ll have some success this month anyway 👍
How are you @Marvellouslymadmum? Xx

elsimo · 11/04/2021 16:20

@bez91 i'm not surprised you are feeling rubbish. Can you not phone and say this is really worrying you so can u talk to someone earlier.

I'm going to ask why mine haven't been done, i've been seen by the fertility clinic too and they didn't mention it either. However they were next to useless - they basically counted my follicles, diagnosed unexplained infertilty and offered me IVF in the space of 5 minutes. It wasn't until we went private I actually felt like someone cared.

I often feel like people pan me off because I already have one and if I hear once more "but at least u got pregnant". Yip I did but it took 18 months and then I miscarried so it don't class that as a positive outcome!

I'm CD 11 and opk are getting slightly darker and a wee bit of ovulation pain. I am really struggling to even try this month - OH is most defo the driving force atm. I just can not be arsed with the whole TTC at the moment xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 11/04/2021 21:23

@bez91 is there no way anyone could just explain your results over the phone quicker than four weeks that seems crazy!

@Florence15 I'm ok thank you, spent a couple of days sulking as af arrived and I'd actually been a bit hopeful this month 😑 but all good now and eating to go forward to my fw once again lol. Glad you're doing well, have you had many symptoms yet? I had so many this month my body loves to trick me 😂

Sorry you're struggling @elsimo I was like this a couple of days ago but oh talked me down and has now been putting extra effort in with everything ttc related which has really given me a boost. You should've had amh and afc done then you don't need the day 3 and day 21 as much as they can tell the important bits from those

elsimo · 12/04/2021 08:06

@Marvellouslymadmum afc - is that antra follicle count? I had that done last August and it was good.
I will ask about amh when I speak to the doctor on Thurs.
This month seems the most normal since the mc - I have a postive opk today and quite a lot of ovulation pain so hopefully things are settling but thats almost 5 months since my MC. I feel like mu body has really struggled to settle back down this time xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 08:42

@elsimo yes that's right, gp's don't generally do amh only fertility docs, I'm Still on waiting list for mine but they're guessing November 😢 which I feel like it's far too far away! It can take ages to get back to normal, at least it's finally settling though xx

elsimo · 12/04/2021 09:25

@Marvellouslymadmum ah yes ok. So the fertility specialist said we could do that test but based on afc and everything else it would probs be fine.
I really need to go back abd see her as she has spoken the most sense out of everyone.
I went to see her in August last year, all ready for IVF and she told us to hold of 6 months as she was sure we would get pregnant - right enough I did fall in October xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 10:44

@elsimo ahh that's good then! Yes I'd book to speak to her again and see what she says!

bez91 · 12/04/2021 10:53

@Florence15 great news I'm really happy for you. Absolute right to take one day at a time, it's hard to stick to that but you seem in a good place with it 😊 funnily enough I was looking at reflexology just for stress relief so that's interesting if you talk about hormone regulation.

@elsimo @Marvellouslymadmum I think I could ring and kick up a stink about waiting 4 weeks but now I've had a word with myself, picked myself up - it's probably better I wait for my 21 day results and my ultrasound so they can all be discussed together.

@elsimo Yes you're right about that and attitudes, I am grateful beyond belief for my DD but that doesn't mean that secondary infertility doesn't exists or that miscarriages if you already have a child are any more insignificant, it's still a loss. Hope you get somewhere in going back to see the specialist, can you just self refer?

I've tried BBT this month, OPK was peak on Thursday and I'm still to see a significant temp rise, anyone know if it's that reliable or more likely I just haven't ovulated? I think it'll be the first and last time I do it, it's a pain in the arse anyway 🙈

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 11:16

@bez91 I use bbt and don't really find it a hassle but I also don't get a great shift in temp Between phases it's usually 36.5 something in fp and 36.6 something in Lp so only .1 of a difference I'll attach my last months chart if that helps

bez91 · 12/04/2021 13:21

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum that's helpful to know there's not much of a change for some people. This is mine which I'm confused about, I thought I'd ovulated but maybe I haven't, will do another IC OPK later 😆

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 13:27

@bez91 not everyone gets an ov dip but when you get the positive opk you ovulate in the next couple of days so I think it can take a while for the temp to raise too!

bez91 · 12/04/2021 15:36

@Marvellouslymadmum I've read it can take a couple of days to rise, peak was Thursday so I thought I'd see it by now 🤷‍♀️ never mind I'll assume I've not ovulated then anything other is a bonus 😆

OP posts:
susiebluebell · 12/04/2021 17:05

@bez91 No I'm not re-started the evening primrose oil or the folic acid, I am desperate to keep having regular cycles. I think the EPO might have messed them up! I'll go back on the folic as/when I eventually do get pregnant.

Sorry to hear you have been feeling down. Hope you can badger your GP into giving you 5 mins on the phone to explain the results, even if you then also keep the appt in 4wks time? X

Florence15 · 12/04/2021 17:15

@Marvellouslymadmum I’m sorry your af showed up 🥺 hope you’re ok. Onwards and upwards and fingers crossed for this month🤞. I’ve not had many symptoms at all really which worries me. Just bloated stomach and cramps every now and again. Boobs only feel slightly sore when coming down the stairs 😂. Guess it’s different every time though. Need to stop dashing to the toilet everytime I feel damp and try and chill out . Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/04/2021 17:45

@bez91 it's confusing, I have had months like this but maybe just dtd a couple more times in case 😂 then wait and see what happens!

@Florence15 I'm ok now thank you, had my day of sulking and now looking into the next month! I wouldn't be worried about no symptoms, I didn't get any with my two teenagers for the first few weeks I think I was a good 8-10 weeks when the nausea and sickness showed up with my son but was lucky with my daughter and didn't have much at all, all the way through! It's definitely not a bad sign, as you say every pregnancy is different. Definitely chill out and have that oh look after you! Xx

elsimo · 13/04/2021 09:11

@bez91 I did BBT for couple months but couldn't make any sense of it so scrapped it.

Well I had the highest peak I have ever had yesterday on opk. DTD last night, this morning and plan to try tonight again. So perfect timings this month and lots of ovulation pain.
Really this is only the second month since my MC I feel like we have been in with a shot.

Also for those with OH who aren't quite so enthusiastic - I pretty much gave up this month and he has made all the effort Wink

susiebluebell · 13/04/2021 14:21

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing ok. Some of you might remember I came on at Christmas asking for moral support when my sis in law had her second baby. You guys were amazing Smile

I've just seen the first pics of my cousin's baby, born a few days ago. It's coincided with the due date of my original pregnancy being yesterday, April 12th Sad and it's made me feel very bitter and not able to be genuinely happy for my cousin. And I don't like feeling this way - I know rationally that their new baby is not a reflection on me (it's got nothing to do with me!) but it doesn't stop me feeling green with envy and really bitter and wondering what's wrong with me that I haven't conceived yet. Any tips or words of advice will be greatly appreciated...

Going to try and throw myself into work for the rest of the afternoon...
Easter Envy

justwant2beamum · 13/04/2021 14:45

@elsimo I think I'm on similar time frame to you. I got peak OPK Sunday afternoon. DTD Sunday AM, Monday AM, Monday PM and will do tonight too. My apps have ovulation as yesterday and 1dpo today but I don't bbt so can't confirm. Hoping I'm covered. Didn't do much else in fw, ov was a bit early for me this month peak OPK was Cd12. 🤞🏻 for you.

Sorry @susiebluebell it's so hard. A friend had a beautiful baby girl a few days ago and she sent pics etc and I do feel very jealous, I should be 16wks atm and instead im starting TTC again and in tww, just feels so unfair :( 🤞🏻 and baby dust for us all ✨
