As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@sperr I don't think I will - it was blank this weekend so there's clearly something dodgy going on Grin. 13 DPO is really good!

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 09:11

@ChinChilly ah nothing much yet I'm afraid! Let's hope it's a sign of oestrogen ramping up for you and therefore an LH surge is to follow xx

MissC07 · 15/02/2021 09:11

@Juno231 That's so annoying about your AF! I hope you're out of limbo soon.

@Sperr Thank you! I'm feeling really nauseous and crampy today so it's kicking me whilst I'm feeling down. Nothing a massive mug of hot choc can't sort I'm sure.

@Nellieee I think this is my second cycle post pill (my body has been a bit all over the place) I stopped the pill mid Nov, then had 41 days till my first AF (which was literally nothing) the cycle just gone was 45 days. My AF is killing me today though so hopefully that's a sign things might be going back to 'normal' post pill.... whatever that means!!! 🤷‍♀️

@ChinChilly Thank you! I'm no expert at all but maybe you're about to ovulate, mine did a rise then a dramatic dip just before 🤞

ChinChilly · 15/02/2021 09:26

@Juno231 @MissC07 thanks both, hopefully I see something on the old OPKs today!

@MissC07 my GP said to me last week it takes upto 6 months for your cycles to get back to normal! I think its taken mine 6 months the last 2 have been more what I can remember!

Well I just tried to upgrade to the VIP FF but I think it glitched out, I confirmed the payment through apple pay but nothings happened 🤔

Kay00 · 15/02/2021 09:32

Morning ladies! Monday again... Urgh!

@ChinChilly Looks like you body had a little ramp up (with the fertile CM) but then nothing, mine does this a lot. You're only CD15 though, so plenty of time to ovulate yet Smile. My chart attached for reference.

@MissC07 Sorry AF showed but, and she'e being a b**ch!

@moocher90 how are you getting on? I was thinking about you last night. Did your spotting turn into AF? Or have you had any indication it could be ovulation?

@juno231... hopefully you work out whats going on soon... !!

CD25 here, and not a lot going on.

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 10:37

@Kay00 CD25 already!! I'm sorry nothing has happened yet :( Def get the ball rolling with docs as soon as you can to sort this silliness out.

Just had my HSG antibiotics delivered to my door! How fancy is that.

Kay00 · 15/02/2021 10:43

@Juno231 ooh wow! I'm so excited things are happening for you! when do you take the antibiotics? Do you need AF to arrive first?

Moocher90 · 15/02/2021 10:44

@Kay00 AF :(. I have been reading up on the link between hypothyroid and period cycles and it certainly has an affect on your cycles.
Irregular cycles, absent cycles and heavy cycles feature in thyroid issues. Was literally CD13 when I got spotting but only once when I wiped and it was slightly ewcm looking and CD14 when it was a little bit heavier. Today is like normal AF! RHR is low 60bpm and my temp 36.07

I have booked a GP appointment to discuss this and also not ovulating. Not until 3rd March though! Also confirmed that the GP yest has requested a full thyroid panel which has been done so I am going to go for my blood test tomorrow morning before work.

I’m so frustrated by it all now. Firstly because GPS don’t really understand thyroid issues and you constantly have to self advocate for tests. I hope the endo appointment goes better on 24th Feb. I feel like there’s really no point in TTC right now unless I’m medicated because my cycles are irregular and I’m not ovulating. I don’t think private fertility clinics can provide thyroid meds as part of their treatment.

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 10:52

@Moocher90 that is incredibly frustrating! When you say endo I assume it's endocrinologist and not about endometriosis? If the former then how does it tie in with tomorrow's test and the March GP appointment? Sounds like it'll be a big overlap? If it helps I'm pretty sure they do prescribe levothyroxine at fertility clinics as high TSH isn't something they're unfamiliar with! My GP even said that if there's a problem with my TSH the fertility clinic will sort it out.

@Kay00 They're quite strong doses so I take them the morning of the HSG just as one big dose. I feel like I should stock up on something probiotic and be prepared for nausea and probably thrush again!

Moocher90 · 15/02/2021 11:02

@Juno231

Yes the endocrinology app I mean. So my private results where ones where I saw the highly raised antibodies but the nhs have never tested them so I spoke to ooh GP yest to get one done so the endo could have those results for my app on 24th Feb as that means they have two lots of TSH Ft4 T3 results and since then my TSH has risen from 3.86 to 4.58 and gives me a better chance on getting medicated instead of waiting another few months for another blood test. If the endo does nothing I still need to speak to the GP about my irregular cycles and not ovulating. I hope that the endo will be able to do something though and will sort out this as part and parcel of the thyroid issue as I believe that is what is causing it.

Do private clinics prescribe Levo? Or just NHS fertility clinics?

Kay00 · 15/02/2021 11:04

@Moocher90 Sad Sad Sad how rubbish! I'm so sorry you're getting really short cycles and regular period without ovulating xx Good luck with your blood test tomorrow, and hopefully your GP will have a better understanding of fertility/thyroid connections.

My GP is on maternity leave at the moment, and her replacement is another female GP who (according to her write up on the website) specialises in fertility. If this is another annovulatory cycle them i'm going to talk to her. If I ovulate (just late as usual) then i'll give the Soy Iso another try before talking to her. But I'm certainly feeling frustrated by my lack of anything happening!

@Juno231 definitely stock up on the Canesten! Grin

ChinChilly · 15/02/2021 11:11

@Moocher90 i echo what @Juno231 said my GP said primary care wouldn’t treat TSH under 5 but a fertility clinic would.

@Kay00 sounds like a good time to talk to your GP! My GP practice is huge you literally just get any GP that’s free, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the same GP twice!

@Juno231 @Kay00 thank you both for your chart expertise! Pretty sure nothings happening yet OPKs are still barely there

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 11:25

@Moocher90 I'm pretty sure private docs can prescribe pretty much anything they want. It'll be the NHS that will be limited by protocols of having to refer you endocrinologists etc. I've def seen ladies here on the conception board getting levo prescriptions from private docs without having to jump through referral hoops so don't see why it would be different at a fertility clinic. After all nearly all the meds they give you at one will be hormonal and therefore related to your endocrine system?

Moocher90 · 15/02/2021 12:38

@Juno231
If I get no joy with the NHS endo on 24th Feb I will go privately as otherwise I will have to wait months and months for anything to happen

ChinChilly · 15/02/2021 12:39

@Moocher90 my bloods are on the 24th, we may both be searching for private alternatives shortly after that date 😂

Kay00 · 15/02/2021 13:34

Grin I might be exploring private avenues too!

Moocher90 · 15/02/2021 13:47

@Kay00 and @ChinChilly the NHS is great for emergency care but I feel a little let down by the GPs and anything fertility related.

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 14:05

Lol speaking of which - I got an e-referral letter in the post from the NHS today to reschedule my cancelled appointment... what appointment? I logged on and it seems to be my fertility appointment at St George's from the 1st week of Feb that they cancelled. Nevermind that I then went on to have it at Queen Mary's... Anyone want my spare referral? Grin nearest appointment is end of May!

Kay00 · 15/02/2021 14:08

@Juno231 maybe go to both Grin you might get a second opinion!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/02/2021 15:00

So sorry that so many of you guys are worried about thyroid issues etc. GPs really dont know much about fertility and even the nice ones willing to run tests (like mine were last year) dont really seem to know what they are looking for.

Im just sitting over here waiting for AF or a positive test... if that is I ovulated at all which isn't certain. Feeling very flat/anxious about it all, as I'm now worried that if I conceive what would happen if I do have that underlying condition... etc etc etc. I kind of just want this cycle to be over already so I can get the test done.

Trying to turn myself to more positive goals of eating better and losing a little weight to give myself the best possible chances in future.

ChinChilly · 15/02/2021 15:19

@Moocher90 I feel exactly the same, as soon as I heard just relax I just thought here we go! I had to play it down on my last call with GP incase they just thought I was nagging 🙄

@Juno231 I’m with @Kay00 go for both 😂😂

@TheDaydreamBelievers Sorry for all the scares with the test, hopefully they all come back ok! I’m trying to be more positive also trying to move more and eat less! Getting out first thing with the dog does wonders for my mind set but it’s bloody hard to get my arse out the front door at this time of year.

Flowers222 · 15/02/2021 15:48

@moocher sorry it has been so frustrating! My GP also said they wouldn't do anything about my TSH (3.89) but they would when/if I get referred to the fertility clinic. I very recently had an appointment with the endocrinologist as I have really high prolactin and they think I may have a small prolactinoma causing irregular cycles, he was really useful and talked about all aspects of ttc, asked about my BBT and opks and whether I am ovulating. Said if I hadn't conceived in 6 months he would do some more digging and tests. So hopefully your endo appointment will be useful and you can ask all about impacts to ttc too. List all the questions you want to ask.

Juno231 · 15/02/2021 16:26

@Flowers222 wow your endocrinologist sounds like who we wish we'd have all our appointments with! Lovely!

@TheDaydreamBelievers way to focus on the right stuff - I've been good on cutting down alcohol but only lost 1kg since the new year so really need to take this more seriously.

Ttcin2021 · 15/02/2021 17:52

Finally have my first period this eve after coming off pill on 4th Jan. Feeling happy about it as I know it could be a lot longer......I am 10DPO so just wondering if that’s normal ish? Also for future reference, what is the difference between period and implantation bleeding? Is implantation bleeding only seen on toilet roll etc?
