As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@Juno231 Hi 👋 Still here just sitting in the background. CD18 for me today but I'm not 'due' to ovulate until next weekend, although I'd love for it to be earlier! Hope everything is going well for you this cycle! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@LauraT94 OMG beetroot juice!! I don't know how you can drink that, I can't even stomach normal beetroot 🤣 Good on you though!!

@laurat94 eww haha! I just ate a ring of pinapple (including the core) which is a fruit a particularly dislike ... the things we do!

@Juno231 yes, I'm here! I've been quiet due to my period and feeling crap but now on cd12 so have been OPKing for a couple of days, nothing so far but my last peak was cd17. thank you for thinking of me!

Hey guys
I’ve been a bit MIA dipping in and out while my long cycles carry on but I need some help / advice

I’ve had positive OPKs for the last two days, today’s was really high!
However I just went to the toilet and bright red blood and even a little clotting - how could this be? I’m so confused as to what’s going on and don’t know if I should be worried

Just don’t know what to do or what’s going on 😔

oh update just got my peak! is that normal? as i said it was cd17 last time and now cd12. is it usual for the peak to move around?

@minipilling yes not everyone will have a perfectly regular cycle. The only constant should be your LP but even then that's all over the place for many of us lol. In the past year I've ovulated between CD11 and CD17 for reference and that's considered a regular cycle :) Now jump on OH!

@MissC07 lovely to hear from you! Hope ovulation doesn't tarry.

@MintGreenLife ah a boy!! Congratulations! And you're almost halfway through at that. Have you started buying things for the nursery, a pram etc? Do you have names short listed?

@Robyn101 I'm sorry that's super odd. If it wasn't for the OPKs I'd assume your cycle gave up and AF showed but I have no clue how that ties up with a surge like that :(

@Robyn101 oh wow! That'c certainly a positive OPK! It looks to me as though you have ovulated on CD53, and hopefully your bleeding is due to a small amount of cervical erosion following sex or ovulation bleeding. How much blood is there?

@minipilling Its not completely unusual for it to move around... even for ladies who have very regular cycles they will get the odd cycle which will be an earlier or later ovulation. Similarly, you can get more than one LH surge before you ovulate, so keep DTD every couple of days just in case this is a false alarm!

@Juno231 that’s exactly what I was expecting to happen that it would give up eventually but the peak today was blazingly positive so I’m just utterly confused as to what’s going on or what to do

@Kay00 potentially, I guess I need to wait and see temps wise. There wasn’t anything on my underwear, but when I wiped it was bright red and practically covered the tissue with a small clot in it too

Fingers crossed I’ve just disturbed something or it’s just intense O bleeding

Why is nothing ever simple 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@Robyn101 in my past life (17 years ago, before I went on the pill) I would bleed randomly throughout my cycle and particularly after sex, I was told this was 'normal to me'. I was quite surprised it hasn't happened since i stopped the pill. But I think the odd bit of bleeding here and there can happen, and it shouldn't be too much of a concern. Hopefully it stops and Ov is confirmed!

@Kay00 I think it’s just the initial panic of wtf is going on! I’ve calmed down a bit now, hopefully I get a bit more clarity in the next few days. Interesting how our bodies change over time, I don’t remember a time of not being on the pill before last year 😅 a good 15 years to get over and get to a ‘normal’ for me

@Juno231 thank you :) all I've bought so far is around 5 outfits and a couple of prints and frames for the nursery. I've got a list on my phone of all the things to buy and am spending lots of time researching all the options, but haven't taken the plunge on much at the mo! For the bigger things think we've decided on a Tuttui Bambini Cozee and the Ickle Bubba Stomp (such ridiculous names!). Baby name wise we have about 5 on our shortlist, which are Ellis, Ifor, Finn, Angus and Jacob. OH is Welsh so we will most likely go for a Welsh name. Have a plan for the nursery, so will start sorting that after our 20 week scan I think.

How are you getting on? What's the latest with your appointments? x

@mintgreenlife love those names 😍 im Welsh too so have a few Welsh names on my boys list too, including Evan, Nye, Rhys, Tomos. So glad things are going well for you xx

@Kay00 ohh lovely 💕 love those names, especially Rhys! My girls shortlist was predominantly Welsh - Mali was the front runner, and had Nia and Carys on there too xx

@MintGreenLife omg gorgeous names - I think I have a special penchant for Ellis! I had to google the ridic named things but gah that's made me broody. Love love love it all. I'm plodding along. 15 cycles now, will reach 16 just in time for mother's day! OH has his SA appointment tomorrow and then I'll see if the doctor will see us for a follow up appointment as all my tests have been done (although officially my next appointment isn't scheduled until 8th of July!). Realistically we'll have to go private though as we wouldn't get IVF done on the NHS until next year. Luckily OH is on board with that.

@mintgreenlife I love Carys too 🥰 on my girls list I also have Alys, Lili and Delyth (my favourite).

@juno231 wow, what beautiful wallpaper 😍 I hadn't thought about putting wallpaper up in the nursery... but these designs are enchanting. I'm definitely tempted!

@Juno231 glad you like them, Ellis is our forerunner at the mo. I actually think I'm just going to take the plunge and order the Ickle Bubba now, will make me feel better to have the biggest item ticked off when I've basically got nothing else sorted! Wow those wallpapers are so beautiful, I'm going to lose my evening to this website now haha.

Well I'm glad they are being thorough and that OH is onboard with the plan. July must feel an age away I know. All your tests have come back fine so far haven't they? Will be keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have to go down the private route in the end.

@Robyn101 I had bright red Ovulation spotting the month I conceived! Hopefully that's all it is for you.

Loving all the Welsh baby names!! I can only ever think of good girls names 🤔 and they're always ones you can shorten I.e. Dorothy - Dottie, Edith - Edie, Florence - Flo/Flossy... 😂

Also, update on the beetroot juice - my pee was pink this afternoon and I'd completely forgotten about the beetroot by that point so I freaked out thinking I must have internal bleeding/bad bladder infection or something. Worriedly told my OH who just shook his head and laughed, before reminding me of the huge glass of beetroot juice I'd earlier downed 😩😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@LauraT94 ewww so brave drinking beetroot juice! I could not do that. I’m on my favourite grapefruit juice already 😂. Best part of waiting for ovulation!

@LauraT94 thanks we shall see what happens now! I love beetroot but couldn't have drank the juice version 🤢 I hope the lemonade made it more palatable?

@ChinChilly yeah glad we've 'hit the button' to get the ball rolling. May look at going via private if the wait time is looooong - checked the local trust websites me it's saying 12-18 weeks for initial appts that aren't suspected cancers.
