As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

Ooh @TheDaydreamBelievers I hope you get your Valentines day Ov!

I'm still quite dubious i'll be getting one... Just did an OPK and it was low at just 13%. So far this cycle (and all through my last annoulatory cycle) my usual 11am OPK is around 20-30% ... even as high as 46%.

Does anyone else get quite high base level OPKs?

@Juno231 @LauraT94 you’re both tempting me!! £20 for the year isnt bad at all though!

Report
Flowers222 · 12/02/2021 12:12

@Kay00 my OPK baseline is quite high, usually 30-40%. When it starts getting up to 50-60% it usually means my peak is getting close. It used to worry me but my doctor said my LH levels were normal when I had my bloods done 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wonder if it's because I don't drink enough

We are all so different @kay00 - mine are usually blank! So coloured lines gets me excited.

@Kay00 mine tend to sit between 15-30% I drink soo much water though

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm the same! Any line on mine means something's up as otherwise it's just white! I don't even take pics of them anymore as there's nothing to document.

I'm with @Juno231 and @TheDaydreamBelievers - white for the month and colour maybe 3 days at most. But Premom says 42% of people are rapid onset which would be our type and the rest gradual onset which I presume is LH showing building through the cycle.

Thanks ladies! That's very reassuring!! I just need to wait and hope they start getting darker soon Grin

So I started spotting yesterday and figured I'd call to arrange my hsg as the clinic would be closed this weekend anyway. And my god is it not easy this NHS malarkey. It took me 11 phone calls to get through and at the end of it I got passed around another 3 people when they realised I don't have the antibiotics prescribed that I need for it. Basically took me all afternoon 😅

Now they only do it once a week on Fridays and the doc isn't in next Fri so I'll get it in on the 26th. Which sucks cause that should make me cd14 and you're not supposed to have sex beforehand or 24-48 hours after so it looks like next cycle might be a write off ttc wise 🙊.

How is everyone feeling about March ttc btw? I asked OH if he wanted to continue then and risk a Christmas baby but he's not bothered by it so I'm happy to proceed anyway.

ChinChilly · 13/02/2021 13:23

@Juno231 gosh that sounds like a right ball ache! With the whole christmas baby, it really doesn’t bother me, I’m at the point where I’m thinking it’ll be a miracle if I even get a BFP! Crazy to think we’ve only got until march to get a 2021 baby!

My temp had abit of a jump today OPKs negative so far though

@Juno231 that sounds ridiculous! I do find, as great as the NHS is, they do sometimes make things way too complicated.

@ChinChilly maybe something is happening with all the EWCM. I'm with you on feeling like a bfp will be a miracle anyway and I wouldn't mind a Christmas baby.

I'm on my third day of peak opks, so looking at my previous cycles, that either means ovulation today or tomorrow. Definitely covered ourselves dtd this time though, I'm exhausted! My OH has been on it, turns out it's because his best friend told him they are going to start ttc next month so he now has this vision of us getting pregnant and having kids at the same time.

Juno231 · 13/02/2021 15:51

@Flowers222 haha not gonna lie but I think your OH primarily just wants to beat them to it! That would be amazing though to do it together.

@chinchilly wow that is a jump! Reckon it could ovulation despite the opks?

Not much going on here I had a spike yesterday and a massive drop today but not much going on with OPKs and had some pink spotting/glossy like ewcm today

@Flowers222 fingers crossed 🤞🏼 definitely sounds like you’ve covered yourself!

@Juno231 it is possible I’ve missed my peak as I’ve been abit lazy with the OPKs this cycle but I pretty much always catch my peak so I’m not sure my temps were abit all over the place last cycle, pic attaches, so I guess we’ll see what my temps says tomorrow.

@Juno231 that’s frustrating! Glad you got it sorted though. But annoying you might have to miss out a month. We’re having trouble getting DH’s SA sorted because of covid. So the hospital near us aren’t doing it so they’ve referred us to the one that’s like an hour and a half away but they’re only doing ‘at home production’ lol but it’s need to be given in within like half an hour and the GP said ‘maybe a camper van on the motorway lay-by.’ 😂 but he doesn’t think he can refer us to the specialist without the SA results so who knows how long this will all take.

@ChinChilly and @Flowers222 I agree! I’d be happy with a Christmas baby or an anytime baby at this stage 😂 @ChinChilly my temps are quite rocky - think I’m a mouth breather/light sleeper so might just be an anomaly. Or maybe ovulation! Eek. If not hope it’s soon. @Flowers222 glad your DH is so on board this month 😃

@Juno231 It sounds like a lot of work and organisation trying to get sorted with the NHS - it'll all be worth it though I'm sure! Good job you remembered to ask all the questions and persevered with the phone calls. I'm sure the 26th will come around super quick. Annoying it's when you're potentially ovulating but you never know - it might be late?! Good work on the walk today. I haven't stepped outside the door. It's been freezing and blowing a gale all day. I definitely haven't earned the Chinese takeaway we've just ordered!

@ChinChilly That is a good temp rise! Are you planning on BD today? Might be worth covering it!

@Moocher90 Is that Ovusense you're using? How are you finding it? The ewcm sounds positive!

@Flowers222 That's brilliant that your OH is on it this month! Hopefully all that BD gives you that BFP! @juno231 I was thinking that! Nothing like a bit of competition wanting to beat them to it! Haha! My DH friend mentioned a while ago that they were going to try for another in Feb so I was really hoping to be pregnant by now but nope! Clearly I'm a bit competitive too!

Report
Juno231 · 13/02/2021 17:39

@Cams50 I'd park the car somewhere and help him out - without it you can't get referred so might as well make it into an adventure 😁

@FlyingGiraffe haha I've lost all the competitions, they have actual babies by now!

Had another uni friend post a pregnancy announcement yday... It said hi to the third trimester and she got married in Aug so I reckon she got pregnant on her first cycle 😭

Report
FlyingGiraffe · 13/02/2021 17:40

@Cams50 Did your temperature rise this week after you suspected ovulation? That's so rubbish about trying to get DH's SA! Hope you can find some sort of solution to the problem, sorry it's being such a pain to sort out. The things you never thought you'd hear your GP say though! Haha!

Report
Moocher90 · 13/02/2021 17:58

@FlyingGiraffe it’s only my 2nd cycle using it but I like it as it’s no hassle. I do still do traditional bbt as well so I can see a pattern on my FF app xx

Flowers222 · 13/02/2021 18:03

@Juno231 @FlyingGiraffe you are probably right 🤣 it is now a competition and I am certainly not going to discourage it!

@Cams50 that's a little bit rubbish about the SA. I agree with @Juno231maybe do it sneakily in the car nearby 😂 needs must and all!

@Moocher90 maybe ovulation is close with that big drop.

FlyingGiraffe · 13/02/2021 18:09

@Juno231 That's rubbish. I have my fingers crossed the HSG works its magic for you. A lot of friends of ours conceived early on...we're on cycle 7 now and although it's not easy, I keep telling myself it's normal. Especially given I'm 35 now!

@Moocher90 Glad it's working well for you!

CD8 for me today after the chemical/early miscarriage (I have no idea what to call it...) and i've had watery cm the yesterday and today. My temperature took a nice drop too. The OPK's are still low but that's ok - it'd be nice if ovulation was next week sometime so we have time to dtd a few times beforehand!
