Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh

TheDaydreamBelievers · 10/02/2021 10:39

As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@crabette sounds like things are going well! It must be so hard not to worry but I hope it all goes smoothly ❤️

@Juno231 I’m so glad they’re starting the ball rolling with tests but so frustrating that they’re so abrupt. I get they must be so busy but don’t they realise how long a journey it’s been for anyone to even get to that point.

Flowers222 · 11/02/2021 15:03

@Juno231 sounds like it was a stressful call! But great it finally went ahead and things are starting to happen! Sorry about the bfn.

@MissC07 what an eventful evening! Glad your OH only has some bruises!

I got my peak today 🥳 about time! But also noticed some spotting with mild cramps this afternoon which I've never had mid cycle before so that is worrying me! Ovulation spotting? Is that normal?

Sperr · 11/02/2021 15:08

@LauraT94 im tempted to join you on Sunday testing. I convinced myself with the valentines present idea 😂 and If not i can stuff my face with yummy treats all day and have a large wine so it’s a win win!

@Juno231 sorry to hear they were abrupt 😞.

What’s everyone planning for valentines?

LauraT94 · 11/02/2021 15:17

Haha as long as my temp doesn't drop to suggest Ovulation hasn't happened yet then let's be testing buddies @Sperr

Valentine's plans are to look after my nanny kids for a few hours in the afternoon pro bono so mum and dad can have a few hours alone! And to have a Chinese that evening 🐷 can't wait! We're also going to 'spring clean' and organise the entire house this weekend as it's a pigsty!

Juno231 · 11/02/2021 15:32

@sperr omg only the most exciting thing ever - ALCOHOL!!! But on Sat instead of Sun. AF will be due then and I've currently had 40 dry days this year so am GAGGING FOR IT. Can you tell I'm excited?? Grin

other than that - takeaway pizza, a big walk and a film probably.

www.cbc.ca/life/jamieoliver/recipes/jamie-oliver-s-cracking-christmas-irresistable-pork-buns-1.5381658

Making these for dinner tomorrow though in honour of Chinese New Year!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 15:43

@Sperr That's funny - I was about to ask about Valentine's plans! We are going to get the M&S dine in deal, so have been planning our menu choices today :-D

Robyn101 · 11/02/2021 15:50

@Sperr it’s actually my birthday across this weekend so we’ve got a few days off work probably get a takeaway watch a few films and just chill out. Maybe a nice snowy walk

Hoping for a BFP on Valentines in the thread ladies so get cracking those of you at testing time haha

Sperr · 11/02/2021 15:57

@Juno231 why haven’t you drank in so long?! (I sound like the alcoholic friend 😂). I did dry January last year and it was awful.

@LauraT94 I’d love a big Chinese in my fat pants 😂. I don’t share my prawn crackers at all!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I really want to try that one year! They sound really good!

@Robyn101 ooh happy birthday weekend 🎉

I’m thinking of doing an afternoon tea at home (with Prosecco of course) but I’m not sure how much OH would be in to that. I mean he loves chocolate so as long as I put lots of that in there he might not notice how girly it is 😂😂😂

Kay00 · 11/02/2021 15:59

@juno231 oh no... that call sounds super stressful! I find the NHS and its many services (and how to access them) extremely complicated... I would crumble if I hadn't asked all those questions - sounds like you managed it well though!

@Flowers222 Ov spotting isn't verrry common, but its not unheard of either Smile

@sperr Valentines night we are having steak (our local Farm shop rears their own Ruby Red cows, so OH has ordered some of the most delicious looking steaks to arrive tomorrow ready for Sunday). I need to work out a sauce I can have with them, and i'll cook them with chips/wedges.

Other than that I'll be sanding and priming the woodwork in my hallway (literary a never ending job) and re-constructing my drum kit so I can start practising again (rock on!!)

Kay00 · 11/02/2021 15:59

@Robyn101 Happy Birthday for this weekend!

MissC07 · 11/02/2021 16:02

@LauraT94 I hope you managed to do the school runs ok in the ice!!

@Juno231 Sorry your RHR has dropped. I hope you get an answer soon and can get your tests booked if needed

@Flowers222 Congrats on your peak!! Sounds like ovulation spotting!

@Sperr You should def test on Vday. My OH is cooking us a roast on and depending how testing goes I'll be having a very large bottle of wine!! Although stupid rugby is on on the afternoon so I'm sure he'll be watching that at some point too! 🙄

@Robyn101 Happy early birthday for the weekend 🎉

Robyn101 · 11/02/2021 16:07

Thankyou @Sperr @Kay00 and @MissC07
Lockdown birthdays are so weird but I’m going to spend the weekend eating, drinking and DTD 😅 maybe my body might give me ovulation as a present 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Flowers222 · 11/02/2021 16:10

Thanks @Kay00 and @MissC07. I freaked thinking it was af coming and I wasn't going to ovulate at all! Seems to have stopped for now, though I still have cramps, so will see what happens in the next few days.

We don't have any V-day plans. It's our 1st wedding anniversary this month so we will do something special for that instead. If I do ovulate tomorrow then I will be 10dpo on our anniversary and a bfp would be the best gift!

Juno231 · 11/02/2021 16:56

@kay00 I find it super confusing too and it's not helped by being foreign so I haven't even grown up with this malarkey lol! Your steaks sound unreal - so so good! Hope you find a decent sauce to go with them.

@sperr ha cause I was drinking way over the weekly recommended limit about October onwards and figured I should probably try and steer clear for a while both from an egg health and calorie point of view. According to my dry jan app I have saved 10.4k calories this year so far - how mental is that!

Gracie2021 · 11/02/2021 17:58

Sorry for the big long essay again lads. Only get in before and after work so always lots to catch up on. I'll prob miss about ten updates by the time this is typed 🙈

@Robyn101 Happy Early bday weekend. Hope you have some bday treats planned and that a nice bday ovulation goes your way too.

@MissC07 here's hoping your good deed sends some good karma your way for this weekend. I have a good feeling about it for you for some reason 🤞

@Juno231 sorry it's not looking good this cycle, but I'm so thrilled that things are moving so quickly for you with the testing. Well done for self advocating. You really have to push for yourself don't you!! I'm out this month too but love having other cycle buddies to cheer on.

@Flowers222 happy anniversary. I'm no help to you on the spotting but yay for the peak!!

@Sperr I'm out this month so have all fingers and toes crossed for all of you testing this weekend (@LauraT94 @MissC07 ). We're def due some BFPs this weekend!

@Kay00 such a productive weekend, fair play to you. Well impressed. Well have to see a pic of the hall when you're all done (not sure if that's allowed on the forum...). Nothing planned here but walks, baths, cooking, eating and time with my parents dogs.

@crabette can only imagine the anxiety but sounds like all going swimmingly 💗

I tested yesterday 🙈 was only 10 DPO but did it more to confirm that I was out than anything else. AF is 100% coming tomorrow and I've two days of low temps but on the plus side three regular cycles in a row and temps confirmed ovulation so things are working as they should. Placed my usual new cycle amazon order today too; fancy CB ovulation testers and more preseed plus some treatments for cysts so all sorted. For now not worrying about warm feet, keeping hydrated or regular healthy meals and having an indulgent weekend.

@Ttcin2021 have you considered temping vaginally instead? I find it so much easier and it solves the open mouth while sleeping issue. I find FF very good too transferred all my data to it over Christmas. I still use PreMom app too purely because my BBT and OPK's link in automatically so handy to pop in there first for tracking.

ChinChilly · 11/02/2021 18:10

Hi!! I’ve been abit MIA just been crazy busy at work, honestly draining the life out of me. I’m having one of those days today where everything goes wrong.

  1. Finger in the dog poo when trying to pick it up
  2. Some how broke the oven door on my new oven so that won’t close
  3. Spilt a huge jug of water all over the kitchen floor, it’s all gone under the washing machine and units
  4. Changed the bedding, knocked a glass of water everywhere

I’m now soaking in a bath where I can’t cause anymore drama waiting for OH to get home for work to fix the oven

@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you for the new thread!!

@Juno231 Wow, that was one quick appointment! Good job you were on the ball and asked all the questions, i always walk away and think I wish i would of asked this and that! Those pork buns look epic! @Kay00 steaks sound good aswell! I don’t eat much red meat but I do like a good fillet, I never order it out though because I like it well done with no pink and that almost insults the chef 😂

@Sperr @LauraT94 @MissC07 good luck testing on sunday lovelies 🤞🏼

@Robyn101 happy birthday for the weekend 🎉

On the subject of valentines day, we never really do anything I’m not sure why in the 12 years we’ve been together I don’t think we’ve even done cards! I think I may ovulate around valentines day woohoo!

As for the alcohol I’ve done dry 2021 so far 😂 not that much of an achievement though as I’m not really a drinker.

Sperr · 11/02/2021 18:51

Everyone’s valentines plans sound lovely! I may have to up my game 😂. We are very lazy valentines people.

@Juno231 I just had to google the recommended drinking amount 😂 (I under luckily!) I never drink during the week as a rule but it’s mostly because I can’t function at work if I’m hungover. I live for the Friday after work glass of wine though! I am trying to cut out wine for fitness purposes though. Gin just isn’t the same so I’ve ended up drinking less.

Moocher90 · 11/02/2021 19:20

Just catching up.... CD11 today not much going on. OPKs are barely visible. Last cycle I peaked at CD17/18 so not going to be a Valentine’s Day ovulation 😂

Not sure what we will be doing for Valentine’s Day but will be going for a walk and I may get some steak out the freezer to have. We don’t do much on Valentine’s Day as it’s our 2nd wedding anniversary the following Sunday xx
Roll on Sunday when I speak to the GP and book more thyroid tests ready for my endo call on 24th.

I’ve been soo cold today. Was WFH today and just couldn’t get warm. I finished work and showered and have had the heating on all day.

Kay00 · 11/02/2021 19:26

We're have never celebrated valentines day either... no cards or presents in 17 years! And to be honest the only thing we'll do this year is have a special dinner 🍽 😋 😆.

Nor do I usually eat meat... im not veggie, just happy to live without, but this new diet has meant no beans, pulses, mushrooms so I have been eating more meat to get my protein levels up... much to OHs delight!

ChinChilly · 11/02/2021 19:29

@Kay00 my OH is a cave man, if a dinner hasn’t got meat on its not a meal 😂 he’s very much MAN EAT MEAT 😂

@Moocher90 good luck with your GP, I know what you mean about being cold! My gas bill has been through the roof the last month or 2 with WFH

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 20:24

So, my news from today is that I'm going to get testing for sticky blood aka Antiphospholipid syndrome - apparently my healthboard has started offering it for people who have a MMC right at the end of the first trimester onwards, as its quite unusual for that to happen ('common/normal' to discover a MMC at 12 weeks, but 'uncommon/abnormal' for the fetal death to have happened at that point - usually the fetus in a MMC will have died between 6 and 9 weeks. One possible cause is clotting issues so they are offering a test. So I need to call when I next have a period and they'll run bloods.

LauraT94 · 11/02/2021 20:56

@Juno231 omg those pork buns look right up my street!!

@Sperr boozy afternoon tea sounds fab!

Loving everyone's plans.

@Flowers222 I had ovulation spotting last cycle when I conceived! I thought it was AF coming as it was CD35 haha.

@MissC07 I just about managed haha... There was one really slippy bit but it gave the 5yo a good giggle to see me trying to get over it haha!

@Robyn101 ooh happy birthday in advance!

@Gracie2021 I'm definitely going to try vaginal temping next cycle. All the vaginal temping charts I see are so much smoother and consistent than mouth temping! I'm sorry for the BFN ❤️

@ChinChilly what a drama full day! Hope you're chilling now!

@TheDaydreamBelievers that's really good they're offering you that testing! I'm really glad that they're following up on it for you!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 21:06

@LauraT94 yeah I am glad its being offered. But also freaked out cause the more I read, the more ALP would be awfulllll news (lots of intervention needed to carry a pregnancy, future health implications etc). So I hope its not that!

Also its a bit frustrating cause the testing will mean at least 1 and possibly 3 months time out from TTC (they do one test, results will take a month so shouldn't TTC in that time, then if the results from that look a certain way, they do another test 6 weeks later, which again the results take a month - so if they have to do both tests it means 3mo off from TTC). Sorry, just having a bit of a freak out over here!

OP posts:
LauraT94 · 11/02/2021 21:08

@TheDaydreamBelievers don't apologise! I just read your explanation on the other thread too, it does sound worrying! But let's just hope the first one comes back clear?? Of course it wouldn't give an explanation for the MC but hopefully would mean you can get straight back to baby making ❤️

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/02/2021 21:11

@LauraT94 yeah hopefully test 1 says "nope all fine" then its only a month off. I cant have the test until next AF as they cant test you when you might be pregnant (even before positive tests) and we have been having unprotected sex.

Anyways, how are you?
