As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@firsttimemummy321 I can see a vfl on the CB! Hope the bloods show what's happening.

@Juno231 fingers crossed it'll settle down and it'll be a normal ovulation! I wonder if the HSG tomorrow will make a difference 🤔

@Flowers222 oh no I'm so sorry you think AF is on its way 😢

OPK went back down to 70% this eve so I think although I got that peak reading today, I reckon it'll shoot up a bit more tomorrow! Think my highest peak reading on the cycle I conceived was 97-123%. So could have a way to go yet!

Moocher90 · 25/02/2021 20:22

Not much from me today I’m CD12 but I doubt I will ovulate due to the thyroid issues. I’m still doing OPKs but so far very low. Need to start BDing just in case though.

Cams50 · 25/02/2021 20:38

@Flowers222 sorry about AF 😞

@Juno231 good luck tomorrow!

@LauraT94 yay for ovulation!

@firsttimemummy321 hope you get some answers from the bloods.

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 21:46

Thank you ladies!

@kay00 I've got my paper work, 2 types of antibiotics and co-codamol waiting for me in the kitchen. Bought kefir to help my tummy recover from the meds and prepared sanitary pad appropriate pants as I normally only wear thongs 😅.

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 22:35

@Juno231 thongs Grin hehe... I haven't worn a thong for about 10 years! I'm very much a comfy pants kinda girl Grin

Glad to hear you're prepared!

LauraT94 · 26/02/2021 08:22

@Moocher90 definitely keep DTD just in case! You never know ❤️

@Juno231 good luck today! We'll all be thinking of you. And I'm a thong girl too, was so weird having to wear big knickers with the MC haha!

Sooo FMU shows a peak of 126% so far today... 😂 So I'm guessing tomorrow or today for ovulation! 🥳 gonna be wearing socks to bed every night from now on haha!!

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 09:09

@Juno231 good luck for today!!

@LauraT94 Yay for ovulation!

My blood tests came back, my vitamin D level is super low so need prescription strength supplement for that.

My TSH has come back as 4.1 down from 4.43 in November and my free T4 is 11.2 up from 9.6 so not sure if this is an improvement or not

Flowers222 · 26/02/2021 09:36

@Kay00, @LauraT94, @Cams50 Thanks! I ate all the chocolate last night to make myself feel better. But I think my DH was more disappointed than I was this time, it is really starting to get to him too. I really hope it doesn't take a month just to ovulate again! The waiting is awful.

@Juno231 good luck today! Hope everything goes well.

@ChinChilly quick to get your results back! I believe low vitamin D may affect fertility so good to find that out and is easily fixed. Your TSH is moving in the right direction at least, but still a little high. Are they thinking of doing anything about it this time?

Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 10:20

@ChinChilly this is from one of the FB pages I am on in regards to thyroid.

Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh
Juno231 · 26/02/2021 10:30

@chinchilly oof the vit D is good to get sorted! I've been taking 4000iu/day for it recently as I was reading about its importance in general and how pretty much everyone is deficient in it. Oh and it's meant to play a big part in covid somehow? Although I've already forgotten that bit lol.

@LauraT94 @Kay00 ha i find normal pants just bunch up in my bum and get so uncomfortable whereas I can't feel my thongs 🤷‍♀️

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 10:48

@Flowers222 it’s moving in the right direction but it is still wayyyy to high! They won’t do anything at the moment because their normal range is upto 4.9 so it’s normal to them 🙄

@Moocher90 thanks for that! It’s kinda frustrating that the GP won’t do anything about it but I guess I’m just gonna wait it out!

@Juno231 yeah according to thier lab my vit d should be over 50 and mine is 19 😳 I’ve saw somewhere about how vitamin D effects your thyroid function aswell so it will be interesting to see if getting my vit D up will help.

She did my LH and FSH although they were just done on any cycle day so can’t take much notice of those she said they all looked fine though, she’s confident there isn’t anything going on with my fertility as my periods are regular and my LH and FSH looked normal...but that is a GP normal so it’s probs not normal 😂

FSH 3.7 iu/l
LH 5.0 iu/l

Also totally get the whole big pants bunching up the bum 🤣

Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 11:06

My opks are getting darker!

Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh
Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 11:17

That photo looks so naff as it’s actually a lot darker then what it looks in person 😂😂

Post Pill Party - The Ceilidh
TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 11:38

@Moocher90 that is dark! Almost a positive!

Hi ladies sorry been hiding under a rock. I've finally plucked up the courage to make a video appt with my GP as things don't feel 'right' since my mother of all AF in November (thought I better give it a few months monitoring in case it was a blip). Currently CD4 of cycle 11. Hoping they don't dismiss me.

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 11:44

@Moocher90 that definitely looks like its getting there! I start to get excited when they look like that!

Moocher90 · 26/02/2021 11:55

@ChinChilly and @TheDaydreamBelievers I get excited when they do this as I think it’s literally borderline positive it gave me 55% in pre mom app but then feel it’s only one part of the puzzle! Get excited about the thought of ovulation then the body goes nope!! Then no temp rise and then onto a new cycle 😡 I’m CD13 so I’m still early and it’s never peaked like this so early before

Juno231 · 26/02/2021 12:52

@mrsmacmc def say cycle 12! What's a month's difference really and you don't wanna risk them dismissing you. Lovely to hear from you again though

Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 13:34

Hi ladies

Are any of you having the Covid vaccine? I know pregnant woman are not being given it. I assume that applies to women trying to conceive too?

mrsmacmc · 26/02/2021 13:39

@Juno231 thanks that's a good shout. I'm hoping because I'm an 'old bird' (35) they won't dismiss me either. I've got lots of data on my tracker which I hope they'll be able to use. I think I've got a short luteal phase as I'm hovering around 8-10 days. Your procedure this morning sounds toe curling! I remember I had to go for a colposcopy and the vinegar 'wash' was horrendous! Grateful to be working remotely just now as I would be off if commuting to/from office - the pain is horrendous:(

I'm hoping by chatting to GP it'll get things moving and we'll be able to maybe use the private health insurance too as don't know how long the waiting times will be.

Hope you are able to relax this afternoon and the weekend. Everything crossed for you. ❤️

ChinChilly · 26/02/2021 14:01

@Juno231 glad you said that as I don’t know what any of them mean 😂 I just picked my Vit D prescription up they’re 40,000 IU, seems like loads!

Your procedure sounds horrendous but your description did make me giggle!

@mrsmacmc nice to hear from you!! Good you’re getting the ball rolling with your GP!

@Tillybabs I haven’t really thought about it, I’ll be so far down the list, I’d like to say I’d have it.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 14:04

@Tillybabs I originally wasn't going to but 1) the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Royal College of Midwives both changed their view to "probably fine if trying to conceive" (www.rcog.org.uk/en/news/RCOG-and-RCM-respond-to-misinformation-around-Covid-19-vaccine-and-fertility/ and useful clear fact sheet here www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2021-01-12-covid-19-vaccine-info-sheet.pdf) 2) we are likely going to have to take a TTC break anyways for testing and 3) I'm a patient facing healthcare worker.

So, I have now emailed my work asking to discuss it with occ health.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 14:06

Also @Tillybabs The latest advice from The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) states: ‘Women who are trying to conceive do not need to avoid pregnancy after vaccination.’

Tillybabs · 26/02/2021 15:02

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for that. The link you posted doesn’t seem to work but it’s ok I will look it up.

I’m 40 and have had my text already this week! So debating on whether to have it yet or not.

@Juno231that all sounds positive so far.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/02/2021 15:10

@Tillybabs its because the daft site is trying to take the ) as the end of the link! So this one here is correct: www.rcog.org.uk/globalassets/documents/guidelines/2021-01-12-covid-19-vaccine-info-sheet.pdf
