As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@Juno231 Definitely find out about yours! And as for Femometer well 🖕🏼 Tough one with the job also 🤔

@LauraT94 I’ve learnt that sometimes you have to stamp your feet, especially with GPs! Your OPKs are looking good, fingers crossed for peak today!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I’ve been so tempted to do the FF premium for weeks now, still not done it 😂

@FlyingGiraffe hopefully, I’ll be very surprised if I haven’t got a vitamin D deficiency! You’ve definitely covered yourself with DTD 🤞🏼

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 09:42

@TheDaydreamBelievers Forgot to comment on the cramps - whyyy do our bodies keep messing with us? Cause god knows if that's AF, ovulation, implantation or just good old gas...

@ChinChilly yeah although I just went away and did the maths. I get 6 months full pay where I am now and it would take 52 months of the new salary to break even on the loss of that! Based on the after tax difference between my current salary and the new one (and excluding pay rises in both locations for ease).

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 09:49

@Kay00 it’s a tough one but I think you should be honest with her so she isn’t surprised. As your friend I’m sure she will understand and support and be happy for you.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here as having thrust issues which have been getting me down. I took a course of antibiotics for something last month which triggered it. I thought I had it under control but we had sex last night and afterwards I felt uncomfortable and bled a little. Argh

So I spoke to my GP and he said my recent swabs and smear test came back fine which is good. My blood tests are all normal, I had those done last week. Because of my age (40) the other GP at the surgery is setting me up for fertility screening. I didn’t know this but am really happy about this.

In the meantime I have to try another course of a pessary and some ointment.

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 09:55

@Juno231 Sounds like staying put is the more sensible option then, especially if you are happy where you are at moment. There will always be the opportunity for promotion in the future!

@TheDaydreamBelievers CD35 here... I thought I felt some AF craps this morning too... but maybe it was just wind Grin haha!

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 10:00

@Kay00 haha that's the thing, I'm pretty darn unhappy and my team has a flat structure of all senior people so there's no promotion opportunities! But I don't think I'd be particularly happy in the new place either so I'd better wait :)

@Tillybabs ah I'm sorry to hear about the thrush. I keep wondering if mine is lingering as well. End of 2019 I think I ended up on two courses of the prescription drugs for it too so I hate that it keeps coming back. Glad to hear your GP has referred you to a fertility clinic although odd of them not to tell you!

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 10:15

@Juno231 thanks. I think the GP was waiting on my bloods which only came back this week so she was probably going to call me soon I hope!

Thrush is awful and since I’ve been off the pill, I seem more susceptible to it. But the antibiotics have definitely made it worse. I hope this next course of pessary etc works. But I can’t have the oral one as it’s not advisable when trying to conceive.

ChinChilly · 25/02/2021 10:18

@Juno231 it does sound like staying put would be more sensible, it depends if/how unhappy your are in your current job. My plan is to get mat leave out of my company then look elsewhere, saying that where I work is so family friendly I would probs stick around! My job is pretty secure too, I work for a LA and while places want to sell alcohol, breed animals and need taxis...I’ll still be in a job lol

Robyn101 · 25/02/2021 10:42

@laurat94 I’m actually looking forward to our May date now. We’re not the most outgoing people so I think a smaller wedding will help with nerves for sure. Takes pressure off the party for next year. Definitely think you’ll be fine moving it - hopefully we’re returning to some normality

@juno231 that’s good about the offer but yeh the Mat pay is a concern. There’s lots of changes at my work at the minute and if I wasn’t TTC I think I would’ve jumped ship but I’m just waiting everything out so I don’t have to start at zero for Mat pay somewhere else

@laurat94 fingers crossed for a peak!

@tillybabs ahhh sorry to hear that what a pain! Hopefully that clears it up

Right I’m here with my confusing chart again! FF gave me crosshairs earlier in my cycle, then took it away, on the last few days it’s put it back. Did a test because I obviously love POAS and negative. Now I’m just confused whether I did ovulate or not 🤦🏻‍♀️ any chart experts got any help?

@robyn101 there's a chance you did but tbh it looks anovulatory so far to me - there's isn't really a temp shift that I can see? Where it's given you crosshairs it doesn't follow the rule of thumb of three consecutive temps higher than the previous six - they all seem roughly the same temp as in your FP to me :(

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 11:05

@Robyn101 I have been given cross-hairs by FF in the past, but then my body actually ovulated a week or two later. So I would suspect you haven't ovualted yet too, keep testing and keep DTD just in case!

@Tillybabs sometimes thrush can live on OH's bits, and they give it back to us when we DTD... making it difficult to get rid of. That saying, I have never loked into whether there are creams the man can take to help break the thrush cycle?

I agree with you @tilly I need to have a chat with my friend about my predicament. I wonder if her sense of abandonment and grief is partly because of the surprise... No one ever discusses when the are TTC... it must be unhealthy? Why do we do this to ourselves? Is it because there is shame associated with the struggle? And who's shame... ours or the male partners? Its clearly a complicated subject!

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 11:27

@Kay00 I guess people don’t share it because it’s quite a private thing and if things don’t happen, we don’t want to be asked about it constantly. If people don’t know, they won’t ask questions.

But I have told my two close friends so they know.

Yep I know about the cross contamination and we haven’t done anything since I last ovulated! Yet it’s still here. And I’m due to ovulate any day now although no surge yet. So annoying!

Robyn101 · 25/02/2021 11:46

@Juno231 @Kay00 Thankyou! No I completely agree it’s definitely not clear is it 😅 just carry on doing my thing and hope for a bit more clarity as I carry on

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 12:29

@Tillybabs that is really very annoying Sad I can see why its getting you down. Big mental hugs from me xx

@Robyn101 sorry to you too... it's possible that you have ovulated but have had low progesterone... that wouldn't help explain the negative at 16DPO Sad. It would be better if you just haven't ovulated yet... because you could still be in with a chance this cycle Smile

Tillybabs · 25/02/2021 13:04

@Kay00 thank you xx

LauraT94 · 25/02/2021 14:14

@Juno231 ooh that's a confusing start to a chart 🤔 what so you think is going on? You still have time for temps to go down for your fertile window!

@Tillybabs oh I'm so sorry you're suffering with thrush! It's awful. When I was on the pill I'd get it towards the end of my period and for a few days after every single cycle! Think mine had a hormonal element 🤔

@Robyn101 hmm that's a confusing chart for sure! I think I'd tend to agree with Juno that its anovulatory unfortunately. On the first pic it kind of looks like you might have done, just with low LP temps. But seeing it with your FP temps there doesn't seem to be a huge difference!

I got a peak OPK 🥳 only 86% but I'd imagine I'll get a stronger one tomorrow. Question though - 86% is registering as peak on Femometer but it's not quite as dark as the control. Would I still count that as negative on FF? I think I'm tempted to count it as positive as it's so dark? Pic attached!

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 14:16

@LauraT94 I'd be tempted to go with peak as well - looks to me like it's so borderline that if maybe your wee had just been a little bit more concentrated it would have been an obvious peak.

ChinChilly · 25/02/2021 14:44

@LauraT94 I agree with @Juno231 that is definitely borderline, I’d mark it as a positive on FF

LauraT94 · 25/02/2021 14:58

@ChinChilly @Juno231 thanks!! I'm SO happy you'd think I just got a BFP 😂 after last cycle's confusion, I'm glad ovulation is actually happening this time haha! Well, subject to temp changes in the next few days anyway!

firsttimemummy321 · 25/02/2021 14:59

So much to catch up on again 🙈

@Kay00 sorry you're in that position with your friend. That's an interesting thing I've never thought about it like that always assumed it's why we don't say we are til 12 weeks so if anything happens but I think it's so backwards if something happens support is wanted anyway it's all so strange 😫 I'd speak with her about it involve her and I'm sure it will work out fine 🤞🏻

@LauraT94 id mark thar as positive :)

So had my blood test yesterday. Just a sense check are there still lines here? (I know it's super faint) 🙈

Juno231 · 25/02/2021 15:12

@firsttimemummy321 I can see vvvfl on both of them

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/02/2021 15:15

@firsttimemummy321 i see an extremely faint line on clearblue but not FRER

OP posts:
Juno231 · 25/02/2021 15:19

@LauraT94 oh and I have no clue about my chart. Just waiting to see if I'll ovulate as normal or if I've got a wonky cycle ahead.

Flowers222 · 25/02/2021 15:23

@Robyn101 hmm very confusing chart. I would also possibly say no ovulation yet but it is difficult to tell. Hopefully something will happen soon!

@LauraT94 yay for your peak! I would class that as a peak as it looks very very close to the control line.

@firsttimemummy321 hopefully the bloods will give some answers. I can see a faint line on the cb test but not really on the FRER, maybe a shadow. It is very odd you keep getting faint lines.

12dpo for me, temps are still high. No idea what is happening as I have always had a temp drop by now but had a bfn yesterday. Will see what happens in the next few days before I will test again.

Flowers222 · 25/02/2021 18:28

Well I've started cramping and spotting now so expect AF to be in full flow by tomorrow. On to the next cycle!

Kay00 · 25/02/2021 19:37

@Flowers222 sorry to hear that Sad

@Juno231 you all set for tomorrow?

@firsttimemummy321 I see a vvvfaint line on the CB, and I think I can see one on the FRER too but i'm not sure... maybe just the picture. Did you have a stronger positive previously?
