As the Post Pill Party Mosh Pit dies down... sweaty and bewildered, the ladies head to the bar to freshen up. Suddenly, a fiddler bursts onto the stage, beginning a merry tune. Everybody swings into an energetic Ceilidh!

Our heads are spinning, our bodies are knackered but we arent giving up dancing when the music is this catchy!

This is the 8th post pill party thread for women whose bodies don't know the correct dance steps after hormonal contraception. Raise a dram to combating delayed ovulation, flabberghasting follicular phases, loopy luteal phases, bizzare temp charts and OPKs whiter than a Scotsman's bum!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I’m sick of pregnancy announcements at the moment, I actually think if i was to get pregnant and announce it any time soon people would he like ‘another one’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Juno231 I swear some people just look at a penis and get pregnant 🙄

Sperr · 19/02/2021 10:27

@Cams50 thank you! I’m in the office so hopefully they are at home when I get in!

@Kay00 yep I’m 17dpo! I’m just waiting for my tests to arrive- if they haven’t come by Saturday I’ll get an FRER

@Gracie2021 I’m actually too scared to do a test! I mean I should be confident as my temps are still high but I just can’t bare a BFN!

abi555 · 19/02/2021 10:30

@ChinChilly I counted from the first positive one but not overly sure that is the right approach! How is the 'not going to buy any more OPK's resolution going'? Haha, I have said similar to myself many times and always break it!
lovely temp rise there though! Looks like O has happened!

@Sperr OMG this all sounds SOOOO positive!! How have you not tested?!

@Juno231 hopefully the phleb reception can release the results to you.... if not maybe your GP may be able to get the results from the fertility clinic even if they didn't order them? I don't know how you'd wait until July otherwise! That's just cruel!

@Gracie2021 @Flowers222 I find temping chills me out as well as I don't obsess too much if I can see my temps trending downwards I don't get too upset when AF arrives

@Kay00 keeping everything crossed for you for O - and for you @LauraT94

Juno231 · 19/02/2021 10:31

@ChinChilly yeah if I ever get to make an announcement I'll make sure to say it took flipping AGES just so whoever sees it doesn't think it's easy for everyone.

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 10:35

Omg I'm with ye. We had two on a chat of old work/college friends and two announcements which mean they got pregnant pretty much straight after their beautiful weddings. Meanwhile we had to cancel our wedding and honeymoon due to covid and no TTC unicorns to be seen either. One of the girls just announced on insta then yesterday which tbh i'd been waiting for and dreading.

@ChinChilly I've been using only Premom OPK's but after doing my temps for the first time last month have been wondering if I'm really ovulating two full days post peak on Premom so trying CB with Premom OpKs this month to see. Hard to know isn't it!

@TheDaydreamBelievers as @Kay00 would say, everything crossed for you (except the legs of course) 😂😂😂 I've seen so many BfP charts with hills and valleys on Reddit that unless you see a steady consistent decline you're prob still well in the race.

@Juno231 a really bad time to be getting any kind of testing done. My parents both need regular bloodwork done and are struggling to get apps with the GP. Madness lately with covid seems to be pushing wait times massively.

abi555 · 19/02/2021 10:35

@Juno231 @ChinChilly @TheDaydreamBelievers Pregnancy announcements bug me as although I'm happy for the person, I'm also a bit sad and jealous for myself - and I hate that part of myself. I get the 'if you can't be happy for someone else karma will stop you getting pregnant' thought which I know is total rubbish and it's a natural reaction to feel jealous, but still wish I could just be purely happy for the person announcing!

abi555 · 19/02/2021 10:37

bum, double post!

also @Gracie2021 we had to scrap our wedding plans too and it's like wtf, I already lost my big wedding, surely I should get to have a baby instead!

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 10:39

@Sperr I getcha. There's nothing worse for me than a blank test. That said I definitely would have caved by now. Stay 💪

@abi555 that's exactly it. Really helped my mood this month as it took the mystery and guessing and false hope out of the equation a bit.

@Juno231 I think I'd be a no social media announcement at all person. I've a couple friends with late term losses and maybe I'm just hugely superstitious but would tell only the close friend groups and let it filter out that way. If I have to see announcements though, honesty like that is so refreshing.

ChinChilly · 19/02/2021 10:39

@abi555 well I’ve just used my last one and I’m already thinking shall I go to savers and get some cheapies just to check it’s gone down 😂😂 I’m hoping O has happened and probably won’t get chance to DTD today as OH will be in bed most of the day ready to start another night shift at 5pm 😕

@Juno231 I think I would always highlight in an announcement that it took a while maybe with something like ‘we’ve waited a while for you’ or something along those lines. I think people get Abit embarrassed to say if it’s taken a while so you only really hear from those who had sex once and got pregnant

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 10:42

@abi555 we're crossing posts here 😂 so glad it's not just me. I just feel a bit cheated by that whole thing and then the delay TTC even though I know seven months is still a relatively short time, it's like can one thing not just be easy. And this is after struggling to build a house for years with planning issues and site purchase issues. So felt we were due something being easy.

But it's all perspective. Grateful to have a roof over our heads and to be in fed and safe etc. so feel ungrateful even feeling this way sometimes then found a saying this year that has really stuck with me. Just because someone else has no feet doesn't mean you can't be sad that you have no shoes.

ChinChilly · 19/02/2021 10:43

@Gracie2021 Yeah, it is difficult to know 🤔 and there isn’t much info on it because I suppose everyone is different!

@abi555 I get that, I tend to get abit sad and jealous too! And instagram influencers make such a big deal of it, it just gets annoying

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 10:45

This made me smile 😂

Sperr · 19/02/2021 11:32

@abi555 I’m allowing myself to get excited from tomorrow as I feel like if you can’t have a LP longer than 17 days then I’ve made it.

I kinda feel like AF is coming though because my RHR has dropped loads today 😔

Cams50 · 19/02/2021 11:47

@Juno231 thanks! Yeah I’m hoping it’ll magically turn into a bfp but also 10 months of bfns tells me it might not lol.

@Gracie2021 ttc unicorns made me lol. Love the meme too! And yep I’m the same as you and @abi555 with the wedding! Didn’t get the big wedding and expensive honeymoon we’d planned last year. Doesn’t look like we will this year either and now 10 long months of ttc. Why can’t anything be easy! I knew testing today at 10dpo was a risk but I would just love for once to be that person who gets a bfp at like 2dpo 😂

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 12:01

@Cams50 sorry to hear it caught you too. We were only planning a small wedding of 30 anyway but both have vulnerable parents so just safer to cancel. Had it in my head I'd love to do a christening/wedding on the same date two years on which is now not gonna work cause Instant pregnancy is not happening here 😂 ah well all good things in time. What was the honeymoon if you don't mind me asking? We were headed on safari. Biggest bucket list thing for me. Also 10dpo is still early so you're still in the game!

@Sperr fingers crossed for you that AF stays away. 17dpo is so long!!!

Moocher90 · 19/02/2021 12:03

So I got my TSH and free thyroxine result back today.
TSH 4.99 reference range 0.35-5
T4 10.3 reference range 9-22.

This is up from when I had nhs blood tests in December
TSH was 3.86
T4 11.3

They have refused to do my antibodies because I am still in reference range :/ I’m sooooo f*king annoyed right now!!! It is going up and I have the antibodies! How sick do you have to feel to be heard :/

ChinChilly · 19/02/2021 12:08

@Gracie2021 that meme 😂😂😂

@Moocher90 I’m so sorry about your results and your GP being pants! My GP refused to give me an appointment one so I asked to speak to the practice manager and all of a sudden there was an appointment that day! Amazing!! My Aunty is a practice manager (at a different practice) and she does manage to pull some strings! It might be worth a shot just explain your not happy with the quality of care and threaten a complaint to the regulator, normally puts the wind up em 😉 good luck, i feel i am going to be in the same boat next week!

Juno231 · 19/02/2021 12:08

@Moocher90 omg at that point I think I'd push for a different GP to see you or to see someone privately? That's not on!

@Gracie2021 love a safari! What country were you planning on doing one in?

Which reminds me - I got a save the date for a South Africa wedding end of October - something tells me it'll be a slim chance of that happening!

ChinChilly · 19/02/2021 12:12

@Moocher90 agree with @Juno231 ask for another GP the first GP i spoke to was a right one...more interessted in her lunch but the second GP i spoke to was so much better she listened and asked questions...totally depends on who you get on the day! But if you don’t want to do that don’t be afraid of going above them and making a complaint

abi555 · 19/02/2021 12:12

Ladies, I need a reality check. AF due tomorrow, was convinced it was coming as I was quite crampy all of yesterday evening. Then this morning, temp rose slightly instead of anticipated fall. Same happened last month and AF appeared next day anyway so tried to ignore it and get on with day.

Bugged me all morning though so I've just done a test on a one-step. Know I shouldn't have as it wasn't a long wee hold and it's a one-step. There could have been the faaaaaaaintest line but I'm really not sure and definitely not showing it to my hubby or he'll think I've gone completely insane as you really have to squint.... and I read it a bit late so in all honesty I'm 95% sure its an evap if it's anything.

Are one-step's bad for evaps? And surely at 12dpo if it was positive it would be pretty obvious wouldn't it?

Wish I hadn't tested tbh as now I have a glimmer of hope again and I was all mentally set on AF arriving tomorrow and now I know I'm going to be upset tomorrow when she does come. I had so much to do today aswell - have a day off from work so was going to crack on with so many DIY bits we have to do around the house and instead I'm sitting on the sofa staring obsessively at my own pee!!

Gaaaaaaah!
Just needed to vent.
I swear TTC is driving me bonkers.
Chart, just because.

Cams50 · 19/02/2021 12:13

@Gracie2021 ohh safari sounds amazing! And a joint wedding and christening sounds so lovely. There’s still plenty of time for that to happen for next year!! We were going to the Maldives. I’ve always wanted to go to a paradise style island. As you said, all good things in time hopefully x

Gracie2021 · 19/02/2021 12:13

@Moocher90 so frustrating! Some good advice there about standing up to them or switching. Have to be able to trust your GP.

@Juno231 we were actually going all out. So a week Mediterranean cruise first (that was a fun one to see arch for updates when covid came out) and then a week of safari in South Africa. Think I was more gutted about the honeymoon than the wedding 😂🙈

Moocher90 · 19/02/2021 12:15

@Juno231 and @ChinChilly

I have my endocrinology appointment on 24th so will have that and will tell them exactly what is going on and that I have had two nhs blood tests and it has risen since then and also have the antibodies so it’s really likely that I will become hypothyroid anyway in the future and I have a ton of symptoms and it’s affecting my fertility with crazy irregular but frequent cycles and I’m not ovulating. 😡😡😡 I feel so let down by the nhs.

abi555 · 19/02/2021 12:15

@Moocher90 your results are practically hypothyroid! Definitely ask for a second opinion!!

@Gracie2021 aaaah safari! That would've been awesome!!
We were going to Iceland.. it's been my dream honeymoon destination since I was little... just seems so romantic with the hot pools and ice and snow. Aaaaah, one day!!
