Happy half term @justanothercyster! We've got inset day Mon/Tues then it's our half term. What a term it's been for teachers, parents and pupils alike, think everyone will be sighing with relief.

@Gem176 it was rather weird. I was told at my 12 week scan I'd need a c section as one of my fibroids was blocking the exit then a few weeks later was told it would be done under GA as they knew I was going to lose a lot of blood and would have to work fast and do a transfusion so it was safer I was asleep. Baby decided he was coming early as 35 weeks tho so although section under GA was always the plan it was still an emergency so I didnt really have time to get my head round it on the actual day. Lost so much blood I was so weak after it and I have zero recollection of the 1st 2 days at all (baby was in NICU so wasn't with me) then all of a sudden had this little baby to look after on day 3 and genuinely felt like I'd just adopted him! I loved him, but there wasn't that connection in my head that he actually came from me. It took till he was about a year and a half and started to look like his dad that I truly felt like he was biologically mine. They said if I had another it would need to be section under GA again so I'm going to ask next time if someone in theatre can film the baby being born so that it can hopefully help get in my head quicker that it's really mine and came from me.

Ooft @juno231 sounds like your place has had you passed pillar to post today! If you can't DTD 48hrs after it just make sure you get loads in the run up to it as remember some sperm can live up to 5 days, get some pre seed or concrete plus up to help them live a bit longer.

Stamp your feet, cry and scream about how unjust it all is @Sausage1990. Because it does suck and its not fair! TTC is a shit show with no rhyme or reason, some people who don't want kids can fall pregnant at the drop of a hat by accident and some people who really want them can try everything under the sun for years and struggle or have devastating losses. It sucks and its OK for you to acknowledge that and scream and cry. It'll make you feel much better to get the rage and hurt out then settle down with some well deserved self care snacks and wine. Big hugs.

@Juno231 because if its dry it creates friction and gets hot? That doesn't result in pleasurable times? 🤣 Obviously you don't need loads. But it needs to be kept from drying out. I tend to use it at the same time as dtd, so unless he then pulls out and wipes stuff around, and goes back in again (this is really TMI maybe) externally you dry out? Therefore I blob a bit of lube on. 😁

@Missgoldilocks I'd love to go for a private scan, closest place is 100 miles away and is currently closed due to lockdown the next nearest are over 200 miles away 😫 I'd have already been for a private if the ones that are open could see me before my appointment on the 23rd but earliest appointment is 6th March! It's pants! I can have my gp take blood for a private nipt but I kind of think £400 just to find out the sex is me being ridiculous as that's the only reason I'd want an nipt 🙈 no idea how people wait, I'd drive myself mad! They couldn't tell me at my 20 week last time as she was lying funny so had to go back, again couldn't tell me so only found out at my growth scan at 28 weeks 😂

I mean I told you guys first, still haven't told my mum and dad 🙈 get you being all sexy sexy have a fab valentines! I'm in joggers and a vest because BLOATED! I've also put on 9 lbs! @DKDK123 what a time you had! I feel sad for you that you didn't get that instant "I made a human" feeling! Hopefully they can video if you have a GA again 🤞🏻The fear when being wheeled up to theatre was pretty bad, I'm convinced if they had offered me GA then I'd have taken it but now hearing this I'm so glad I was awake even if I was petrified! I didn't watch any of it, I think Id have been sick, I'm really squeamish. Lots of shaking from the spinal but can remember all of it even had a wee joke with the surgeon, he had done almost all of my scans so I assumed he was a sonographer, never asked and then he appeared in theatre and I was like eh what are you doing here. Turns out he was a consultant and post 50 shades there were a lot of babies so scanning clinics were busy so he'd pop down to help and coincidentally I got him for most of mine. He told me I was having a girl so he was joking about not having been wrong.... yet 😂 way to make me feel calm when I had pink clothes galore and a purple pram!

@Haiyaa I've been fancying that but not sure I'm up to it emotionally and oh would say something insensitive and I'd want to smother him with a pillow!

Your surgeon story made me laugh. 🤣 I'm also more honest on here. I don't discuss so much with people I know! Thank god. DH hates it too if I do. He knows I come on here but because no one knows us, he doesn't seem to mind that.
